Yea it's correct. CBN would buy at a lower rate compared to what you bought it for. You also can't receive the pounds into your account from the school, they would always refund to the account the transfer came in from which CBN/GTBANK

I had a shortfall of 189K on £3500 when I was credited. The bank told me that CBN bought it at a lower rate compared to the rate the pounds was sold initially.

Infact I was told the CBN always repurchase at lower rates.

Unfortunately only banks in Nigeria can do outbound fund transfer out of the country through SWIFT.

Its actually the result of the increased interest rate CBN announced sometime last month to curb inflation by encouraging savings. Savings account interest is 4.2% per annum. It was lower before now.

Investment account can be presented as POF so long as you accompanies it with a letter from the managers that the funds are available on demand without delay. You can check on UKVI site of acceptable evidences.

Good evening Nairalanders, a friend of mine came to me for an advise.

My friend is in his late 30s, he has been in a relationship with his woman, they have been together for a period of 8 years, and they have 2 kids together.

This my friend has a younger brother, the younger brother told him that they should go and collect traditional marriage list from his woman family, so that traditional marriage can take place by December.

My friend worry is that, one, he is not financially capable to do traditional marriage rite as of now and secondly, he doesn't have a good paying job now.

Another of his worry is that, he feels it shameful for his younger brother to sponsor his wedding, he is afraid won't he be insulted in the future by people, that he can't not pay his wife bride price, that it was somebody that married his wife for him. His brother told him not to worry about the financial responsibilities, that God will take control.

My advice for him was that he should tell his brother to give him the money to go start
a business, maybe when the business balances, he can go and do the marriage rite. But his brother told him that the lady has tired for waiting for 8 years, that they should do the traditional marriage first, every other thing shall fall in place. This his brother has been supportive to him.

The cover letter works fine. Yes it's ok to tell them to disregard a document if it does not support your application. One more thing ...did your husband mention he is relying on a separate fund from yours (MA)? This may have been why they requested for the pension statement

Yes the funds in both our accounts cover for us, without even the pension savings.
and I was able to get a letter from the PFA that a percentage of the money is available to use for the applicant, if he is out of job.

Is it okay to ask that a document be disregarded?, maybe I should add that to this my response, or the response is good to go. i added a table of breakdown of the funds we have and how much each applicant requires.

Does the funds in your personal account cover both you (MA) and your husband dependent? If yes then write to them and state so.

They are promoting you because your husband mentioned the pension account as his source of funding in the UK and being the dependent, their query would be sent to you.

You can do a letter of consent stating you grant access to funds in your account for your husband upkeep and subtly ask that the pension account be disregarded.

Always best not to over submit documents to these people if you are not fully prepared to defend them.

I saw an advert for a flat on Facebook Market place.
I sent a msg through Facebook market place and the person replied that I should send a mail.

I forwarded a mail and the response was that I can't view the apartment until I have completed a booking and payment with Airbnb who he said would take charge of the Rental process on his behalf.

I just want to know if anyone had gone through this process and hope I am not being scammed.

Yes it is accepted but with a cover letter from the Investment managers (regulated by CBN or SEC) stating the availability of the funds.

Your POF is for your study,not sure why you are asking for a confirmation in doing the wrong thing.

Unless you are using your funds for maintenance i.e paying for an accommodation etc in that case keep the relevant evidence
