My success story
April 1 - Biometric date
N.B - 2 previous visitors visa refusal

May 12- student Visa refusal -Reason given was the attached bank statement explaining the circumstances of previous visa refusal was a falsified document.

May 12- complaint made to Bank as it was a genuine bank statement.

May 13- Bank replied they contacted UK embassy and they acknowledged the error on their part hence they will withdraw the refusal.

May 13- June 22 (several mail sent to UKVI and they claimed they have made decision on my application ). Pleaded for it to be escalated as I haven’t gotten my passport back buh they said due to Ukraine war, they couldn’t escalate.

June 22- complaint made to home office but it took 20 working days to get a response from them.

July 21- They finally responded and they apologized and explained that the visa was issued May 13 but due to administrative oversight, it wasn’t passed to next stage.

July 26- picked up my passport with visa buh couldn’t travel with it as school claimed I couldn’t meet up with April class despite series of online lectures I attended . Online Lectures was only stopped first week July .
School advised I have to request another CAS and make a fresh visa application.

July 27- I mailed Home office again via complaint review stating my displeasure about how they made me miss out my resumption due to error from there part..I was also preparing for another application so I started another POF journey cos school won’t release another CAS without POF evidence.

August 16- I requested CAS from school cos I knew it might take 2weeks for them to release it.

August 23 - Home office replied that I should get CAS for another course date for them to revoke the present visa and reissue another one. Earlier that day ,Sheffield team messaged too also demanding new CAS to be sent to the mail they provided within 10 working days.
The POF I started earlier and also the CAS I requested earlier too helped. School frustrated me delaying the CAS. They finally released it after several calls.

August 30- CAS was released and I forwarded it to UKVI as requested.

September 8- British High Commission called I should submit my passport back which I rushed to submit that same day.

September 11- BRP details was sent to my mail . I was expecting mail from TLS for pick up for close to 2 weeks but no mail. So I felt since my BRP details was already sent to me and I didn’t go through the normal process, let me risk going to TLS to check it myself.

September 21- I finally picked my passport with New visa issued.

It wasn’t an easy journey but God came through for me.

You aptly captured the issues. This are the problems stunting our growth as a nation. Government knows what to do but chose to politicize it to gain favour at the detriment of the people. The Unions and Labour congress too don't help matters ...they all know that option is the best but will want to guilty trip government by saying they are selling national treasures even when they are in bad state ...crazy Are UK universities owned by UK government? The earlier we all see reasons and let go off subsidies, the better for us all.

As for the ASUU strike, both government and ASUU are trying to avoid stating the obvious...that fees may have to go up to pay for extra university funding (That has been the issue since 2013, when GEJ told ASUU that he did not have the finances to meet the 2009 agreement).

If Ngige announces a fee increase, the government would be labelled evil. If ASUU supports a fee increase, it loses face.

Either way, I don't see how government is going to find billions to pay off ASUU...or indeed pay off any government union that goes on strike...without either increasing fees, increasing taxes, removing subsides on petrol, or all three together.

very true ...none really but even with political appointees, they are only the voice and face of the ministry and not the technical mind. We should blame the technocrats within the ministries for failures and ofcourse the political appointee for not identifying ineptitude in the technocrats

All of them are political appointees, and so, they are they for their own personal benefits.

The amount is quoted in Naira so using domiciliary card may not work but I don't know though.

A lawyer handling Labour ministry is because labour involves more of arbitration and ensuring the rights of the labour force ....who do you suggest should be minister of labour? A farmer or a labourer? Some one knowledgeable in labour rights and administration works there but that person should also be versed in law. I agree the current minister may have been too overzealous in handling the post but he is still a good fit.

BTW - Ngige is a medical doctor though

Exactly. At some point they should make it a requirement for medical doctors looking to transition to managerial positions to go for an MBA in medical administration but our universities are not sharp to think of this. Imagine UI or any other top universities offering this course.

I agree with you but notwithstanding, a doctor over seeing a hospital would do a better job than say any other manager without medical experience. Universities abroad now offer courses that facilitate this sort of transition.

My 17 years old brought shame to me last year she got pregnant, I have disowned her and sent her packing. She is staying with her boyfriend in his family home.

She gave birth 5 months ago she has been sick ever since she had the baby and the boyfriend doesn't have any money to take care of her. Plus the living condition is not suitable for her in her condition.

I have forgiven her and I want to take her back home so I can take her to the hospital for treatment but I don't want her to come with her baby. Please note there is only me and my 7 years old son at home. I work and my son goes to school till 5pm.

False information. You can apply to renew once it gets to between 6-3 months remaining validity. How can you advise someone to lie to the police that passport is missing just to get it renewed? Haba ...change thy ways

I can not renew your passport as long as it's not yet expired even if it's remaining one day to expire.if u really need a new passport, common sense is to go to any police station and get a report certificate on missing international passport (about 10k),with the police report, u go straight to court and swear affidavit. With the police stuff and ya affidavit, u go to immigration and apply for lost passport.. I will advice u to go to immigration headquarters at Abuja. Within 2 weeks, u will get new passport

Don't mind that one, he's probably those with no intention of schooling when they get there.

It is saddening really. Some students had agents recommending courses for them and contract out SOP for submission. You now have contractors handling school assignments for these students. No joy with these guys at all.

This is the problem I have with a lot of students going to study in the UK. For example, I know for a fact in my class, more than 70% of them can’t get a job with the degree because they have no idea of what they are studying. It infuriates me a lot.

And when I ask them why this course, didn’t you check it out before applying, are you telling me you didn’t go through the course modules explained in details on the university website before applying? They take it really really personal.

Imagine a class where almost 50% are having one resit or the other in just a semester, and then some resitting three to four modules in one semester.

It really touches my soul because I have no idea what they will do after the course after spending so much money to get degree that they can’t use.

Hmmmmm I can imagine your experience. I think they got more than they could chew this year. Many are still awaiting their study visas just as many are yet to get their CAS issued. I pray it turns out better next year

Graduate visa. All the story of providing your Unique application number (UAN) in replacement for share code is trash. Very few people understand what that is. Most company want share code for proof.

If the visa department /Home office is really out to make life easier, they would provide a form of proof “ something to show to employer that you have the right to work”. Just like share code. I went bloody on my mail to the MP, if she had issues with Home office before, I gave her enough proof to kill them. I gave her dates of all my mails to different department, their replies and the ones they ignored.

I am just getting over everything. One day I will tell all the story. Even the yeye customer support center that one of the lady told me “if you are not accepted by one company, then try another company” as if e easy to pass interview for job. Please what type of visa were you applying for? I thought the company engaging you issues you with CoS which in turn you use for your visa application right?

If you are having visa delay, you might wanna try contacting your MP. I contacted mine, with a clear explanation of how the delay has frustrated me and resulted to losing opportunities. She replied sympathizing and apologized for the difficulty. She contacted the home office and the next day my visa approval mail was in. One of these days when I am in better mood I will tell the full story. But in summary.

Visa was delayed for over 4 months. Wrote different visa department’s (verification, complaint and complaint review), only complaint replied and apologized with a partial promise that didn’t come thru. And yes you miss offers but it is not clearly stated that they are not moving on for the visa thing.

One of the company told me, to apply for the new visa and let them know when it’s out (that’s after I have told them it will be out in a short time because one of my friend got in 48hrs and another in 10days, so I assumed 1month max). Well long story short, after 2months I just comot mind. 4months later, after the visa came, I wrote them and as you will guess no reply (me am not surprised)

2nd company story was painful, but I can’t really blame them. After two core technical interviews with manager and his own manager (lead). Both manager and lead were very ok. The visa delay story came later after I had earlier stated that I had the right to work. Well my visa story led to the lead discussing with the company about it and as you can guess, story changed.

Like I said, one of these days I will tell the whole story about how frustrating the whole situation was. Even my loving neighbor couldn’t do anything as he confirmed and his company will need a valid visa to accept a foreigner. For the home office format that you can work/ get a job while waiting visa decision. I believe that will only work if you were in the company before you applied for renewal. Most companies don’t understand that and are not willing to risk anything for you.

It was the most frustrating time of my life as I hate being handicapped in a situation. But hey, that’s life, like we say in Nigeria “We Move”.

The immigrants themselves live a higher quality of life than they would in their home land.
So it's a win win situation.

You don't expect these countries to promote immigration into their lands if it won't benefit them because countries are not charity organisations.

This too ...with University accommodation, they lose their freedom to fade away but with self accommodation, they can take off at anytime

University accommodation is available for those who know what they are doing but people don't usually go for university accommodation because its more expensive and you will asked to pay for at least a semester which is not good for those with untouchable loan

those wey get liver de do Super Priority or Priority ...big boys and gehs wen wan japa on empty POF. I pray next September is not difficulty to those applying then cos things fit hard. On some telegram forum you could see its like people don't research about the schools anymore - they just find out the initial deposit, an agent apply for them and boom off the go ....those will be the set of Naijas that would drop out of school deliberately in the UK. Sad!

Because the UK (unlike Belgium and others) do not insist on ‘Blocked Accounts’ to show evidence of funds.

The folks who ignite paid emails after 2 days wants the visa to come out quick quick so that they can return the borrowed money to the owners.

Why would you want to do that? Why scared of the many questions? Would you prefer UKVI ask you those questions and reject you or the university do the asking and guide you through successfully? Choice is yours though.

Glad you spoke the truth. You might scale it though cause some countries operate data retention policies which means certain data are expunged after their lifetime expires. You should be fine if you have other documents that speak to your real age.

Did you receive any other Ema from UKVI? Nothing really in the letter except to tell you that your visa application was successful and the terms of your visa and the route for settlement. I don't think you will be prevented from entering the UK becos of a missing letter.
