I am less interested in where you live.
I do have a problem with people living overseas who feel the silver bullet is Nigeria's unadulterated copying of the policies existing in the nation they reside, losing grasp of the difference in context of application.
I also have a problem with people who live in Nigeria, who can't see beyond the bridge of their nose. They can't seem to make critical assessments of the problem, or proffer credible solutions.
Both sets act like semi-illiterates, who feel they know what they do not know.

Correct!!!
Light behaves both as a particle and as a wave, thus, because of the former, it is affected by gravitational forces, which if strong enough can make light bend.

They serve no other purpose, than to incite tribal bashing.

As a central bank governor whose prime duties are fiscal policies, I think has been excellent.  Even confirmed lately by the IMF.  http://www.thisdayonline.com/ncomments.php?id=141557#210861.
He has recently been appointed by the UN Into the global Financial Task Force on the global recession.
http://www.unelections.org/?q=node/1028
Most of you don't know who the minister of finance or minister of commerce and industry has been over the past 5 years apart from Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. Hence the CBN governor being the obvious culprit. These political appointees don't have ideas on how to revamp or direct the economy. So we blame him for NEPA, Stock market, unemployment etc
RELATIVELY, I think Nigeria has so far been immune to the global recession. There hasn't been massive layouts or bank bailouts/ failed banks.
The Naira has fallen 20% to the dollar compared to the pounds 45% and euros 25% just to name a few. This has been accomplished without depleting our foreign reserve as in the case of Russia.
Personally I think Soludo should leave considering he is just too good for Nigeria. An underachieving nation of underachievers!
and why should the opinion of the IMF or UN be used as a reference for measuring the performance of a CBN governor?
The only reason Nigeria would be immune to the recession is that we are so far back, there is nowhere lese to recede to.
I do agree with you though, that Soludo should leave (but definitely not for the reasons you cited)
PoliticsRe: Nigeria 4th Worst In Medical System - Who Report by biina: 8:37pm On Apr 25, 2009
The statement in the OP, attributed to the NMA president in the article, seems to have been based on the 2000 World Health Report (which was the last time WHO evaluated health systems in member states, with Nigeria being ranked 187 out of 190 states), and thus is less likely a true indication of where things stand currently: we could have gotten better, or gotten worse. Personally I hope it is the former, but won't be surprised if it was the latter.

RomanceRe: Why Do Ladies Secretly Love To Marry Men Who Have Lost Their Mother? by biina: 7:59pm On Apr 24, 2009
Often there is no love lust between wives and MILs. I heard ladies express concerns for the mother-in-law being the primary threat to the autonomy of their marriage.
On more than one occasion, I have heard a lady state that the demise or incapacitation of a would be mother-in-law would be an added bonus to their relationships

Chaircover, nobody (including the poster) is saying what she did was not wrong. Ok, it was wrong, we're talking about moving forward. Yes, I take issue with the boyfriend, not because of what she did, that would be stupid, that's her own mistake. Obviously he has no fault with that. I'm talking about now. From what she posted, I got that he had forgiven her and moved on, right? She made a stupid mistake and he forgave her? That was my impression. After a few months, his family got involved. And I'm asking that if he has truly forgiven her, why can't he stand up to his family? If he hasn't, that's fine. He has the right to be annoyed. But if he indeed let it go and now it's being brought up, it is my opinion that he should stand up to his family. THat is what most people lack and that is why many people have issues in their relationships; because of all the external factors they let control their OWN relationship.
That would be dandy if it is only his opinion that counts, and his family doesn't have a say in matter of whom he marries.
The family have just been informed, and have a right to express their concerns. For all we know, the family might feel the guy's judgment was clouded by his feelings for her. Also if the incidence is quite unlike her, she should have no problem explaining and apologizing to the family. The problem would arise if the family feel they now evidence to support earlier suspicions.
There is no lack of backbone in respecting and addressing the concerns of your family as per their future in-laws.

@poster
Why would you exchange numbers with someone you don't have any intention of contacting in the future. A lady giving out her number implies that she is receptive to further interaction with the guy in the future. I am sorry, while I accept your contriteness, I have doubts about you excuse of exchanging numbers with a guy 'casually'.

debosky:
are you saying this as a woman with/without a protruding belly?

Depends on the person - some care, some don't. I think it's the diet and the general lack of awareness of the effects of carb-rich diets.
I just dont feel the issue of protruding belly warrants a 50 page thread.

People with protruding belly exist in all races, and its occurrence depends on several factors including diet, exercising, way of life and genes. As you grow older, the tendency to have a protruding belly increases.

Some like it, some don't, and some are indifferent; to each his own. There is no need for either side to criticize the other, or get defensive on the issue.

Of course, the marriage is over! What am i doing with a woman that has been raped? What do i stand to gain from her except shame, embarassment and humilation. I dont need that kind of drama in my life or feminine waste around me anymore. After a week of feeling blue, the process of separation leading to a divorce starts immediately and i look for another rape free chick.

Now that wasnt so hard to grasp. . .Was it? cheesy
The fact is that you failed as a man, in that you were too cowardly to defend her (and even got raped yourself). Borrowing your words, there is also nothing for her to gain from a masculine waste like your self.

Now that wasnt so hard to grasp. . .Was it? cheesy

Actually a yoruba dictionary will translate Akata as  Jackal or wild dog ,  Its quite a derogatory word . Most  naijas here dont know the true meaning but they use it on their fellow black man  huh
While Nigerians may have negative opinions of  African Americans, the word akata itself is not derogatory. Like you said, akata refers to an undomesticated canid, and its use is descriptive of the fact that African Americans reside away from their homeland i.e. wild vs domesticated. It is no more insulting than calling someone a Nigerian expat.

You cannot "crash" the shares of a sound company. This is just a witchhunt by stupid investors.
Given enough resources, it is not that difficult to crash the share value of a publicly traded company. In a volatile market, the share value is not rigidly attached to the value of the underlying asset.
