Hmmmm, it is rather unfortunate that most of thus guys and sideline commentators did not witness Nigeria civil war. Their elders that saw it know what it is hence they kept cautioning them to follow the path of peace. They felt they are capable because of the weapons they have amazed all through year of Jonathan. We are watching but he that a coconut is broken on his head does not stay or alive to eat out of it. They will think it is an America movie.

again we are watching and waiting to see how thing evolve.

In any business venture, you aim at recovering debts owed to you in order to remain afloat. If because Auchi, the hometown of the governor was disconnected because of the vandalism and destruction of the Disco properties couple with large unpaid debts by the people of Auchi, I will say he is loosing it. This same disco must pay 100% of its bill, can only distribute what it has from the grid yet a governor that ought to know better and get his people to show remose for their destructive action is now threatening the staff and, management of the Disco is rather unfortunate. How would to be investor feel. No wonder Edo state could not have Shoprite established.

the earlier the governor see reasons and withdraw his threat to the disco the better. The Disco is a business ventures and, must not be seen as another rival political parties in the state. If there is anything done wrong in term of the excess billing let the customer make complaint to the disco or Nerc forum for remedial action. They should not take law into their hands.

Hmmmm. I just hope Babalola is not involved as alleged here otherwise the little integrity he claims to have will be eroded and,may also find himself behind bar.

for those that felt Fayose is on the right path, i wish they are in Ekiti to see things for themselves.

Fayose is diverting attention of people to maladministration and looting going on in Ekiti to criticising Federal Government for every action taken. Yet no meaningful action has been taken to better the lit if Ekiti people he govern. Governance by deceit is what he does by claiming to be a grassroot person. All we see and here about him is eating at bukar, drinking at beer parlour, cutting meat at the market, buying roasted corn on road side. Is that what governance is all about?

Now he is embarking on fruitless action, telling Federal Government not to carry out its function because it will affect him. Clearly anybody that support his action need to examine his or her head.

Politics / Re: Militants Bomb Oil Installations In Warri, Delta by biltem: 12:13pm On Jan 16, 2016
LordAdam:

Yesterday, Tompolo distanced himself from the attacks.

Tompolo is in a quagmire. First, the success of the ND freedom fight was because there were a lot of groups with shared objectives fighting concurrently in different sections of the SS. Now, it is just Tompolo, and, if he was fighting, his reason for fighting would be for himself and not the region, which means he would not enjoy the wide support from the majority of militants.

Two, most of the militants are already enjoying a massive welfare package and will be less likely to return to the creeks because of one commander's selfish interests.

But with that said, we should all remember that Tompolo has been receiving at least N1b from the government every month in personal welfare packages and defense contracts since Amnesty started in 2009. That is aside the obvious bunkering he has been involved in as a side gig.

Also, remember how he bought a war ship sometime ago? The fact is that at the moment, Tompolo has the money, the means, and the connections to prosecute a war on the Nigerian state without even been in the country. With the supply glut, low oil prices, and an army that is reeling from a challenging BH war, Nigeria will not be as ready to fight this renewed conflict as they were earlier under Yaradua.

But then again, Tompolo can't just submit himself to the authorities. The authorities have a poor record of respecting the judiciary. That is the quagmire. Once again, thousands will likely die because of the interests and actions of a few.

-Lord

in my opinion u started well but concluded badly. No individual ot group is more powerful than the state. By the time the military begin to shell the creek and pick up Tompolo all of u will be shouting rule of law. There is no breach of law in what us being done and statement coming from Tompolo now.
Again whose environment are being destroyed and degraded. The guy has made much money doing nothing at the expense if the niger delta region yet some people in the area see him as their idol.
thirdly, we should know that it not Jonathan that is there today but a military man that knows strategy and could be extremely brutal to deal with the people concerned. Infact Odi might be a tip of iceberg if care is not taking.

those that know those involved should caution them now and not to begin to attack Buhari when he retaliate.

To tell the truth, I am engulfed in roaring flames of tremendous anguish and laden with sorrow. Allow me to say that the joy I should naturally feel for such a potent victory awarded to buhari is destroyed by fear of what it MAY cost us. Buhari's disguise is so perfect and complete, expertly masking his nefarious schemes and personal ambitions, professing change in the most appealing language and manner that we treat his ambition with incredulous complacence. A man who, in the past, perfidiously isolated freedom of speech from the people, encouraged fanaticism, held bigoted views on religion and ethnicity, and voiced malicious profanity of the worst degree with his words clearly purporting violence. People criticized GEJ openly in all ramifications, even mocked the first lady without known repercussions. This time, you may have to learn how to cage your tongues and present proper civility. It is said that a child can play with its mother's breasts but not with the father's testicles. Beyond the usual rhetoric on good governance, discipline and his appeal to base sentiments, buhari has usually been hypocritical. Some people raving mad about the new-fangled parlance "CHANGE" are just products of the 90s. They haven't the minutest idea the specie of cobra on transit to the seat of presidency. Never mistake the glaring teeth of a chimpanzee for a smile. Nevertheless, we pray for the best. sayyid:
THE Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, has said that the war against Boko Haram in the North-East has been won and urged his men to sustain the victory.
Buratai promised that the Nigerian Army would remain vigilant and ready to contend with new strategies that might be adopted by the terrorist group.
The army chief made this remark on Saturday while laying the foundation stone for the new Brigade headquarters complex at the 2 Brigade in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
Describing the current military operations in the North-East as critical, Buratai commended the soldiers for their commitment towards the onslaught against terrorists.
He said, “The North-East operation is critical at this stage. The terrorists have been defeated. These criminals may rear their ugly heads through other means. We will continue to maintain vigilance.
Buratai explained that the Federal Government would not relent in giving special attention to the welfare of military personnel.
Expressing satisfaction in the commitment to duty the 2 Brigade personnel, he pointed out that the Nigerian army had always been celebrated globally for its high level of professionalism and discipline.
The army chief urged soldiers to continue to maintain the high level of discipline they were known for, even as he commended the brigade for its effort in fighting oil theft in the Niger Delta region.
Promising that government will give attention to the medical needs of military personnel, Buratai added that the Nigerian Army would not fail to tackle the problem of accommodation in all the barracks across the country.
Apart from inspecting an ongoing five-bedroom block project embarked upon by his office, Buratai also spoke with wives of soldiers in the barracks and pledged Federal Government’s commitment towards improving their welfare.

As for Buhari we are aware the office of the SFG takes care of past presidents so buhari is as guilty as Everybody mentioned in Dasuki saga..
And APC should as a matter of urgency publish how Buhari has spent his security vote in d past Seven months along side other PDP presidents in d past 16years and how other sitting governors both APC and PDP has spent their security vote in the last 16 years.

Is like nigeria is gradually becoming a state of anachy where people will just be arrested and will be refused to be taken to court to prove them guilty. If this should persist,I seing a danger loom for nigeria,so let the ruling party and their president do the needfull. I thougth I had that our intergritty president was given two(2) vehicles from the arms deal and even his so called spokes man femi Adeshina was given 50m and nothing was done. Why is that the opposition has been the hunted?we should be careful if we want to sustain our democracy. My advise to this govt is to make their findings before arrest and the sispect should be taken to court immediately to avoid been partial in their fight against corruption

i think u need to reference the trends on this case before u pass aspersion. Was Buhari entitled to the cars given to him. Secondly was Adsina that received the money to his or company's accounts.
we are talking about money meant for security that one person shared out as he wish. Please don't let us bring sentiment into this issue. In a matter of weeks or months thousand of people may be loosing their job due to action or inaction through corrupt practices of the previous administration. If u will not be involved u will definitely know some one close to u that may be affected. Let this government recover as much as they can.

we shouted like this when Obasanjo was doing similar things . We also called it selective but we forgot that we have start somewhere and somehow. The tactics of these corrupt riddle individual like Fayose and his colleagues is noise making and shouting witch hunt and cry that Buhari is planning to silence them. This they do believing that will scare Buhari from pursuing the prosecution and recovery of their loots. They are now disturbed that the man remain unperturbed.
Methu made similar noice some, days ago before his arrest when the EFCC sought and obtain some relevant information to build up relevant evidence which they already have. What EFCC said was that Methu is being held to enable them conclude the required investigation on the others who are currently at large. By the action of EFCC, the detention is no longer by the commission but by the court.
may i advise the wailers to advise all that are involved to return the loots they shared to enable them get amnesty not only from men but from God. It is currently men judgement but they will all face God judgement to which no wailer can say anything.

Woe unto those that tremble before men of power and that worship false gods. Destruction and perdition awaits those who bow before Baal, who exalt the servants of Belial, who kiss the ring of the Baphomet, who say ”Buhari is God” and who crawl at the feet of the Lord of the Flies.

For example you have no right to tell the courts how to administer justice and who and who not to grant bail. Again you have no business to tell the legislature which laws to pass and how to run their affairs.

Again you have no right and neither do you have the power to pronounce any Nigerian citizen guilty of any crime unless and until a duly constituted court of law has done so. You cannot be the prosecutor, judge and jury in any criminal proceeding and this is especially so when you initiated those proceedings and you are the accuser.
...
To attempt to do so is not only unacceptable and irresponsible but it is also heartless and unkind. The fact that most of our senior and respected lawyers have refused to tell you this simply because they are scared of you or because they are looking for patronage from your government does not mean that what you are doing is lawful or acceptable. What you are doing is morally and legally reprehensible and it is unacceptable in any democratic and civilized society.
...
You have no right to attempt to cower or intimidate the fourth estate of the realm, which is the media, or attempt to pervert and corrupt the Nigerian public with daily doses of lies, falsehood, deceit and propaganda which is being duly and dutifully administered by your Minister of Information and your numerous media aidnt I wish to remind you that it is an incontrovertible fact that in just seven months your government has succeeded in marginalizing the Igbo more than any other Federal Government in living memory and certainly since the civil war.

This is a record that you ought not to be proud of. What the Igbo want is fairness, equal rights, equal representation, equity and respect. They also believe that they have the right to determine their own future and make their own choices.

Mr. President I do not believe that this Is this too much for them to ask given the fact that they have contributed, perhaps more than most, to national development and integration in the last forty five years?

It is not too much to ask given the fact that no less than three million of their people, including one million innocent children, were slaughtered during our civil war in the name of keeping Nigeria one?

I have no doubt that you will remember this very well Mr. President given the fact that you were one of those that prosecuted that war and fought in it.

You will also remember the brutal mass murder and the war crimes and crimes against humanity that were perpetrated against the unarmed and defenseless Igbo civilian population of Asaba in 1968 when over one thousand of them were rounded up, taken to the town square and shot to death for no just cause.

The soldiers that carried out that unspeakable act of cowardice, brutality and barbarity were under the command of your professional colleague, the late Head of State, General Murtala Mohammed. Mr. President that was a dark, shameful and ignoble chapter in our history which still cries out for justice and reparations.

Needless to say the pain of such horrendous events and numerous others that the Igbo have been subjected to by the Nigerian state and those that control it over the last fifty five years still haunts them.

The truth is that regardless of the obvious contempt that you have for them the Igbo will continue to insist on justice, fairness and on having their rights respected in our country.

If you refuse to address their numerous and legitimate grievances and you refuse to treat them with the understanding, sensitivity and compassion that they deserve, the agitation for self-determination, secession and the yearning for the establishment of a new nation called Biafra will wax stronger and stronger until it reaches dangerous and irresistible proportions.

That is what you are toying with Mr. President and if that were to happen be rest assured that the Yoruba would take a cue from it and so would the people of the Niger Delta. It would effectively signify the beginning of the balkanisation of Nigeria.
...

Whether you and those with your world view like to hear it or not, that is the bitter truth.

All of u want to benefit from the inherited corrupt j. It will not work no matter the pressure.

Buhari should be listing possible FG projects that he wants to embark on in the region that will touch their lives.

Moreover, the people have nothing much to show in terms of FG presence in their region for 100years and about 55yrs independence, they also have the right to decide not to be a part of Nigeria.

He should rather call for a conference, where our existence as a country should be negotiated, if after 100yrs, some people call themselves igbos, Yorubas and hausas with their own agenda, one claiming to be superior to another, then Nigeria is a joke.

These ethnic issues and tribalism should be handled seriously else our problems will persist.
