shelliz: Good day all! Please i need help My project (a block of 2 flats with concrete parapet and stone coated roofing tiles) was built with 5 inches blocks, didn't know of it until recently. I base abroad and the building was entrusted in the hands of a family member. What are the risks of building with 5 inches blocks? It's as if my world is crumbling I read somewhere that such structures are not solid. Please help me, advice me on what to do. I have spent all my savings erecting the structure. Thanks Not everything you read from some where is entirely true. It's just a way to promote better ways to do it. Though the blocks don't look like 5", but nothing will go wrong with your building even if its 5" blocks. The most important thing is doing your foundation/sub-structure well. Talking about getting worried, from the pix, it appears apart from the columns/pillars put at the ends of the building there seems not to be any intermediate. Is that not also supposed to be a concern since your structure carries a concrete fascia? |

Rubbiish: Septic tank & soak away are detached. 10' x 10' for septic tank & 6' x 6' for soakaway. 9" blocks with properly reinforced columns, carrying midway beams. Oh......that's the first time I'm hearing it called that. I hope the Op knows the type of inspection chamber he enquired about. |

Rubbiish: Should be within the range from 300k to 450k depending on d type u want. But if your land is waterlogged, it will cost u more. Please can you describe the type of inspection chamber that costs such amount to construct. Or you can put up pix. Thanks |

Was just discussing with the masons this morning as I was passing by a site...they were more than ready to migrate and do a plastering for a duplex and the window hood. They said that's how much they charge here in Kd...small or big job ooo I meant they prefer to take whole jobs especially if the distance from their house to site is far. That way if the bargain is right and if doing the job based on daily pay will take say 5 days. They will run it in 2 or 3 days and use d remaining for logistics/miscellaneous. But the price is good. Hope you speak or understand Hausa or whatever language they speak |

ceelog: Just shocked to find out that masons in Kaduna charge 500N nd 300N for big and small window hoods. Even plastering per partition is 800N. Labor is damn cheap here and the outcome is very usually very good. I think the pattern mostly in the north is the job is priced wholesome. Every region has got their own labour rates which corresponds to their cost of living. As long as the outcome of job done is good then it's okay. |

Godyke: The down side of this technology is that it causes tyres to wear out easily than normal tarred road. A friend who went there to work with his car came back complaining of how the road has been wearing out is tyres under short period of time Apologies but please kindly check the tyres of your friend if they are not yet expired. Check the expiration code by the sides. Concrete roads are done in most communities in Bayelsa State. So it's not new. They should just ensure that the surface is not too smooth. The only problem I have with this road as shown on the pix is that the sides are exposed. They should use sand/laterite to lap the sides of the concrete so it does not wear out too soon. |

Wilfredpat22: I am talking of only foundation. I intend building little by little. Got any idea how much it will cost. My land topography is not water logged but your average normal land. Design is 3 bedroom with only the master bedrooms ensuit. Yes, foundation alone. It could be less than that. I quote figures based on certain factors. Given the topography you stated, the next thing would be what's the level of your land to existing road, etc, etc. |

I really need your help on this. How much can run a foundation for a 3 bedroom storey building. Will 200k be enough?
People who have built their houses should please answer me and help a hustling sister trying to make it in this buhari régime without a man Sis, Irrespective of regime, the foundation for your building type which largely depends on your soil type, topography and structural design will take you within the range of #3.5M upwards . |

I see no reason why PDP will want Omisore to support them now. It's kind of hypocritical. If they had done their home work he would not have left the party even if they deny him the party ticket.
If it be true that he's joining forces with APC, then they better tie all lose ends. Let APC winning Osun be another lesson to PDP and if PDP wins then it will be a shame on Omisore's own part.
Good luck to both sides. |
Politics › Re: PDP Aspirants Opposed To PH Venue Are Enemies Of Rivers Sta & Niger Delta - Wike by bixton(m): 8:11am On Sep 25, 2018 |
Any one can predict what will happen that day. Will the delegates not be the same people who voted in the national chairman?
It would have been better to pick a different state within the Niger Delta to do the primaries since the national chairman is from same state.
Trying to say any aspirant who does not like Rivers State as venue is against restructuring, etc, etc is quite funny. You are seeing aspirants who have held national positions at one point in time or another and have not visited the state in that capacity. They are only here to get the resources here on the land and do not have the interest of you or the people.
Your interest cannot supersede theirs otherwise you will lose out at the end no matter who you pitch your tent with. |

Suzzyyy: Hello Nairalanders! Plz help! I hv been scared and confused abt a risk I want to tk so I decided to share for advice.
Im 29 and I hv a boyfriend who is 33. We hv been happily dating for close to 3 years now, he once helped me financially in a good way with 100k when I had problem with my little business, then he was doing pretty fine with his business, I sell plastics and hez into cloth business. But somtin happened last 2 months, he had terrible problems with his business and lost almost everything including his shop and in a bid to salvage his situation he ended up owing many pple, when all these started he didn't tell me, thou hez a kind of person that likes handling his problem alone without disturbing or telling me which I don't like bcus it somehow makes me feel less important and useful to him, I got to know when he changed, his attitude, moods and everything changed, hez always disturbed, thinking and always visiting pple, he payed less concern and attention to me, don't even call and when I call, he will be in a haste to end it, I became confused, so I had to asked what was going on, he said nothing, I got upset and insisted he must tell me, he then opened up, I felt so bad and almost cried, since then I have been trying to maintain his upkeep and sometimes give him money which hez not comfortable with.
The problem now Is that im scared, he asked for a huge amount of money from me which is 700k, he wants to start all over again in his cloth business and also clear some debt, and I can only boast of 820k home and abroad as a business woman, i just feel he saw my account balance before asking for this, Im scared to loose the money and him too. I love this guy but im so scared of doing this, he helped me when I needed money, but this sacrifice is bigger than me, he showed and detailed everything he will be doing with the money, Im just confused to gamble with my life savings, I know I might sound ungrateful what if the business or our relationship crumble? Won't I be stranded and doomed? My business is not that strong and we all know how most of sacrifices like this ended for people. Is this kind of risk worth doing for a boyfriend
Plz advice me on what to do, plz. One true turn deserves anotherIf you're scared to give the entire amount, kindly give only that which you can afford to let go without any hard feelings if things turn sour. |

Firstly its called *dowry payment * and not bride price with exception to those that require the lady to pay the price for the bridegroom (bride price ).
Be it whether the dowry payment is #10 or 10 kobo. If you still get to spend #2million for the entire occasion then I see nothing new on what she just said. 1 Like |
