All cracks appearing on both sides of wall from top to bottom , just crack it open enough to introduce columns/pillars on those positions.

Any crack appearing on any single side, just crack that particular side open get Y12 do a criss cross of it and get a rich mix of mortar and throw on it as if you're plastering the wall. Only a good mason understands this.

Where your cracks appear at the edge of 2 walls (90°), you either introduce a column/ pillar or you do a proper bond. Ensure the blocks at the edges are interlocked on each course.

It's actually my personal house and I'm living there with a tenant. I was advised when the cracks were noticed to allow the building to settle down hence the delay. But now the cracks are getting wider.

Only one of the cracks is from bottom others are not. Yes they appear on both side of the wall.

You'll just need a good mason to do it.

Dear all, I'm a silent reader here. Please I have a little challenge with my building and need some expert advice.

The challenge is that my residential building has serious cracks on the wall due to poor job execution from the builder. The cracks even affected the POP. Pictures are attached.
 The walls may fall down very soon if repairs are not carried out

I need advice on how to fixed this. Expert that can undertake to fix this should indicate. The property is in Benin City.

This did not happen over night.

Not all the pix are entirely clear from my end but just a few questions for you;
-Are the cracks running from top to bottom of the walls?
-Do they all appear on both sides of the walls(internal/external of each wall)?

Before you listen to an elder who implores you not to vote in someone or vote out someone, you should in turn ask him what is his contribution in the place he occupies?

We should instead use this 2019 to vote out irresponsible politicians especially from the senate house and national assembly.

1. If the design of the house specifies the use of it then you probably can and as long as its approved by the relevant
authorities.

2. You can do a combination of 9"/5" blocks or 6"/5" blocks.

3. If your intention is an all inclusive use of 5" blocks, note that it can't be done applying the same principles as for
6"/9". And the blocks to use can't be likened to those medications easily gotten from over the counter.

Kwara State does not receive allocation like Niger-Delta States so don't expect much projects. Personally, I spent quite some time in both areas so I know what I'm talking about.

Seriously, if Saraki can develop Buhari's Integrity without loosing his Sagacity and Focus as president, he would surely get Nigeria out of the woods within 8 Years.

You may know the Woji axis, but do you know the particular site and it's peculiarities?

It appears you are privileged on info about the peculiarities on the site.
The original op is yet to tell about it.

I guess there are probably 8 trees to cut down and15 stumps to remove which will appear on the excavation line or on the land and you'll have to remove them to a safe place.

We also need to know the nature of the site. There are certain stump filled sites that do require considerable sperate amount for removing it. Some people do factor this cost in excavation, while some quote it differently depending on d client.

Yea that may be true but I do not think the land/site per se is an entirely virgin land and the area of the structure does not give rise to that amount..

Professional fees is usually 10%- 5% of construction cost depending on class of engineer.

On a general note as guide......
For the first milestone which has to do with all foundation works you could be charged #150,000-#200,000.
Another could charge you #100,000.

nope its not sandfilled. attached is the layout with dimensions in mm. the perimeter is 22,220mm x 11,610mm, while the land is 30,300mm x 15,100mm. total nos of pillars is 36

One should not exceed #150,000 for excavating foundation trench and column base which is still fairly high.

Governor Lalong revealed the President’s plan for Imam Abubakar in Jos on Monday during the opening ceremony of a three-day peace and security conference with the theme, “The resurgence of violence in Plateau State: Towards a multi-stakeholder partnership for peace and security.”

It was organised by the Plateau State Peace Building Agency.

Lalong said, “The President has told me to bring to him Imam Abdullahi Abubakar for a handshake, which will be followed by a national honour.

“I was also preparing what to do for this man. Although he is already in his old age, God knows why he did it at that age — for us to study and also know how to maintain peace, not only in Plateau State but also in Nigeria in general.

There are specifications, design guides & building codes to guide every architect designing a building. Flow, ventilation, space, lighting, emergency exit are things that shouldn't be left to the discretion of the client alone. Just like a doctor, an architect should be able to disagree to certain things suggested by a client regardless of the client brief.

Everything is not entirely true or false.

All designs and buildings done by both the architect and engineer are only but perfect as at the time it was done.
You can't compare designs done by anyone at his first 5years of pp to that done at 10 yrs and above in the same industry.

Why was nobody shocked when the speaker who directed the house to be on recess be impeached?

Was that not an illegality and on whose orders was it done?

The question Nigerians have failed to ask is how and why is/was the Benue State speaker impeached?
If the house members were already on recess as directed by the speaker, on whose orders were the speaker impeached?
Why is the so called impeached speaker and a few others serving an impeachment order to the governor?

If you insist on the use of dpm on your build then it should be used before it turns out that "had I known".

Though its usage and needs varies which depends on the individual handling your project.
Rainfall on your roof which spills on the floor also splashes on the exterior walls of your build.
As long as your foundation blinding is minimum of 100mm and the soil beneath your build is not a constant source for movement of underground water then you need not fear.

You can get a close to realistic estimate if you already have the actual architectural design plan.
There's little or nothing that can be done with the 3D you uploaded in achieving a quote.
You have to mention your site location/area so as to come to an accurate price when giving a quote.
In all your soil type /topography will determine the foundation type and quote as well.

That's my point- land utility would be low, as you have in your design. He intends to build a main building and a boys-quarters but such land would not permit that.

There's nothing wrong with the land and the geometry will fit well into what you stated above.
But, If you prefer a hidden boys quarter then it may likely not be possible to achieve that.

My problem is spending between $9500-$11,000 on European solar gadgets or inferior solar system from China or India which won't cost me more than 2 million naira but guaranteed to not hold up for more than few months as read in the available reviews online.

My dilemma is; why should I spend $9500-$11,000 on 8kva solar system on a house I don't even spend more than two weeks in a year? Does it make any sense at all? I'm just not convinced yet.
