Congratulations

3 years wait!!!
Thats long but it is wihtin the visa requirement.
1. You don't need Centrelink so soon upon landing.
2. You need a bank account, phone number and medicare, address to apply for TFN so not top priority on the list.
3. Common Wealth Bank. It is everywhere.
4. This you have to decide your self.

Other stuff on the top prioirty list.
1. Bank Account and Evidences to suport the funds you intend to transfer into the account ( payslips etc). Big Brother lives here.
2. Phone Number
3. Getting an Australian Driver's Licence , not difficult
4. Certified copies of your educational qulaifications by Justice of the Peace.
5. Copies of all your relevant qualifications for job hunting.
6. and most importantly where to lay your head.

Any State is logical . It all depends on you and your occupation.

My 2 cents.

Bodacious1:
Hi all,

I recently got my PR and plan to activate it later in the year. Due to my present circumstances, I may not be able to fully relocate to Australia till early 2027. For those who know, could you advise what the likely implications could be?

I plan to do the following during my activation trip. What else would you suggest I do in addition to these?

1) Register at centrelink
2) Apply for a tax ID
3) Open a bank account (suggestions/recommendations are welcome)
4) Possibly get a PAYG SIM

Also, what state is logical for soft landing?

Thanks in advance.

I dont undertsand tis post.
It isd all contradictory.
Transinsitra has always been under Russia rule, and it fairs better econimically than Moldova.

There is a bridge border between moldova and transinistra.
Is this just a ploy to casue crisisi inthe region?

I'd like to understand your post. Can you provide a summary to us please?
! did Engineers Australia assesement several years back.
Engineers Australia assessment of my naijaengineering degree was based on Sydney accord, as naija was not a partial nor full signatory of Washington Accord.
I did not care nor relaise the consequqences. Only now trying to change jobs and they raising the issue.
Naija engineering education (COREN) only became a partial signatory of Washington Accord some few years back.
so for recent applicants assessmnet will be based on Washington Accord.

You're welcome but let me address something I noticed very quickly. I just noticed some discrepancies in your claim.

If you said you are not looking for visa, that means you are in the wrong thread. But that's not the point. Going by your initial post, it doesn't seem like you are among those that speak good about japa to others. More like those that specialise in discouraging people with wrong information.

I saw your initial post as an attempt to intentionally pass out wrong information. I presume you know a bit about the whole process but intentionally trying to pass out wrong information. You ain't trying to seek for help here, rather you are here to pass out as an antagonist to the japa movement.

Moreso, you said in one of your replies to bligs that you have assessed your degree with EA as shown in your reply below (the bolded).

Intentiaonally?
How and in what way?

👆

That's you saying you also used your Niaja engineering degree for EA assessment.

But how come you are claiming you are not looking for visa but end up undergoing assessment with EA? Does that means you are already in Australia I presume, but trying to pass out misleading info to discourage others here? Just an assumption. I don't know if you are in Australia or not.
What misleading information have i passed?

I hope you can now see the glaring discrepancy in your posts. Sorry, there is no discrapncy

This makes me think you are just here to pass out wrong information to discourage people. You are not here to neither help nor seek for help. Ihave not passe dout any wrong information. Nigeria is not a full siganotry of the washington Accord.

The japa movement is here to stay and I believe no antagonist of any kind against the japa movement can stop the force behind it.

Let's learn to be our brother's keeper. If you are already abroad and you specialise in passing out wrong info to intentionally mislead or discourage others, then desist from it, because the sky is big enough for every one to fly. How have i discouraged anyone?

That's just my FBI observation from the whole of your posts and I believe I have been able to prove beyond any doubt that you are among those who don't want others to japa on Nairaland. That's why I took my time to bring out all the evidence and point out the glaring discrepancy in your posts. Evidences!!!, anyways there are no discrepancies

If this seems like a bad FBI move, then kindly pardon my post.
FBIhuh bro, you did not even care to understand my post. Hence i think you will make a very fine MI6 Officer. *winks*

If you don't know about something you ask so you don't miss out of opportunities. There are different pathways to assess your qualification of which Nigeria doesn't fall under Washington accord.

But you can assess your 5 years degree from any Nigerian university using the competency Demonstration report pathway and your engineering degree will be assessed as equivalent to Australian Bachelor's degree with EA as a professional Engineer.

This is what a lot of graduates that studied Engineering courses in Nigeria have been using to migrate to Australia till date.

You simply didn't understand so much about the process. Endeavour to get the right info if you will like to migrate too so you are not left behind.
Thanks for the info.

everyone does CDR to migrate.
I am not wiriting in the visa section , which means i am not looking for a visa.

If you are referring to Skill Assessment from EA then your are mixing it up,
You can actually assess with EA with an Engineering degree of 5years duration from Nigeria through CDR path way.

I used my naija degree for EA assessment.
I also used my Niaja Engoneering degree for EA assessment.

I never said you could not assess your Nigerian Engineering degree of 5years duration from Nigeria through CDR path way.

So what was your assesment result from EA?
Please kindly care to share?

Why wonder? .... didn't you read Penstock paid 50% of the concessionaire fee? ... whatever that is? ... before being handed control of the $1.3 b project? Can't you see it wasn't about who was shortlisted ... it was about who first paid the concessionaire fee ... ehmmm .... or part of it.
This country needs a military coup... and some greedy people to be ehmmm ... taken care of
That is the requirement for the concessinaire.
It is a price based concessionaire.
You raise 50percent of the fee on said date. That is the requirement.

They do not tell you the huge cost implications of enroling in another program.

wow.

so you need to do 2 Assessments

1. For Migration purpose until you get the visa
2. when you get to aussie, another to get a job

Nigeria's 5 year Engineering Degree program is a 3 year equivalent diloma program in Australia.

Chai...black man from motherland dey suffer shaaaa.

If a migrant leaves the country, say for 2 years.
Would said migrant need to pay tax for the 2 years that they are out of the country?

Thank you for your response. This was helpful.

Generally speaking. What is the environment like working with the Chinese?

I ask this because, sometimes it can be frustrating to work with them in Naija. Probably because of how unregulated Naija labour is.

Do you know anyone who have worked or actively working with them? Can he share his experience and some hacks to get a high paying work there?
Depends on your luck.
if you mean wages...they would not cheat you on wages.
If you mean power harrasment...depends on the chinese company and people.

This is completely untrue and lies. Any African food ingredient and food stuff which is exported and sold in any first world country especially Australia has been verified to have passed through a lot of quality assurance processes before it is allowed to be sold in those countries. How come Nigerians and Africans in those societies that buy these palm oil everyday haven't come down with stomach aches? Your reasons don't make any sense.
You guys are the reason why Australia is currently tightening their border processes regarding bringing any how food stuff and liquid into their country. Just try bring am come na, they will help you fling it into the dustbin. All the palm oil being sold in African stores in Australia were all imported and produced from Ghana and Nigeria after passing through stringent processes and are sold at very affordable rates, so I wonder why anyone would want to bring an unverified palm oil to Australia, thereby putting Australian bio security at Risk? Infact, I think Australia and other countries needs to ban foreign foodstuff completely so una go get sense.
Good day Dear Sir.

Please don't be vexed.

we are saying the same thing.
The palm oil sold in Austrlain market have undergone strict customs, imports, health and environmental processes.
However the bulk of the palm oil come from post-industrial use from neigbouring South east aisan nations like indonesia etc.

Also, i will also not advised anyone to try to bring in palm oil.
Just as you are also right, why put fish and meat in your luggage when they are eaisly available in Australia.

However, Excuse me sir, Can i bring Suya?

The behavior some of you Nigerians is quite annoying, and these are some of the reasons why these countries keep tightening immigration. Please give me a good and sensible reason why you should pack palm oil all the way from Nigeria to Australia when there are hundreds of Nigerian/African food stores selling palm oil in all the states of Australia? Abeg, who do una this kain thing?
the reason why i s that the palm oil sold abroad is not the same.
The palm oil sold for obodo oyibo na palm oil remnant from industrial process mostly beauty products, the taste is different and it gives stomach aches.

i need an advice my fellow japarians!

i am really confused about this TRANSCRIPT issue.
For the TRA Skilled Assessment, i know that Transcript is a requirement BUT my question is this,
will I attach my transcript with other documents, or MY School will be the ones to send the transcript to themhuhhuh?

thanks.
if you have your a copy of your transcript.
Best to go a federal court , notarise every page of the transcript (certified true copy) and send for Skill Assessment.
Waiting for naija

I'm glad to stumble upon this thread. This is insightful.

I have proficiency in Chinese language. I used to work with the Chinese as a translator.

As a dependent and a Chinese translator, are there Chinese factories or jobs I can easily fix myself when I get to Australia?

I don't mind doing these other jobs, but I prefer working as a translator because of my career.

If there are Chinese jobs, what are the average salaries?

Qualification and employment criteria
continued...
A positive assessment of both qualification level and
employment duration is required for a positive Skills
Assessment outcome.
Qualification
AQF Diploma or higher qualification*
Highly relevant major fields of study include:
» Building Surveying

I am a civil engineer though my job description is building Inspector. I didn’t do building surveying in school, what I did is engineering surveying.

Will this factor affect my assessment?

Cc tunlex01 and other gurus in the house.
Yes it will affeect your assessment, but it doesnt matter
Engineers Australai willl probably give you an "Engioneerign Technologist" assessment.

It osdes not matter , as all you need is to get all points to qulaify for the visa
After visa giotten, the job market is your role.

Yes, Qunatity Surveyor is good course
As long as constructionis onoging, qunatity surveyors are required endlessly.
Although my advise is try tolook for a course that can blend qunatity surveying with contracting and cost estimation.
Anyone can do quantity surveying , i mean a junior engineer.
Contracting and coste estimation specialists are highly sort out roles
