Yes, Qunatity Surveyor is good course As long as constructionis onoging, qunatity surveyors are required endlessly. Although my advise is try tolook for a course that can blend qunatity surveying with contracting and cost estimation. Anyone can do quantity surveying , i mean a junior engineer. Contracting and coste estimation specialists are highly sort out roles |

Oge90: Now, the best/surest route for an African anywhere between 25 - 32 is via graduate studies. *Either the person comes in via graduate studies or as a research student*. I already outlined both processes in previous pages. Please go through them.
Hello
I’m confused. What’s the difference between a graduate student and a research student? Kindly explain please. Thanks. Some Universities and courses require you take a 6 months-1 year pre graduate studies before enrolling for graduate studies. The Reasearch studies are on campus, after the stipulated period you take a test and interview before many professors and if you pass , you get direct enrolment into post graduate studies. Why you may ask? 1.Because the universities are not so confident of what you studied back home. 2. If you do not have a background in the intended course of study e.g Nuclear Engineering or AI. I have seen candidiate from Vietnam and Myanamar mess up their test. The test are very simple, all what you learned in bachelors period. |

Gerrard59: The Nairalander and most Nigerians I know here came via the university-recommendation MEXT scholarship. Only one came in via the Embassy route, which is the most competitive. The same applies to other sub-Saharan Africans, and when I ask them for their profiles, na first class, already have a masters etc. The Nigerian girl I met is also a first class graduate. She said it is not strictly for first class, but go to LinkedIn and do your search, all MEXT scholars via the embassy route had a first class or masters and then applied for another masters.
So, just putting it out here so that future applicants know what they are up against.

tunlex01: are these rhetorics? People pay the rent and buy those houses cos they make the money! it's expensive but people are still buying and renting which is not exclusive to Australia. it's the same in other countries. Good day Sir. No, these are not rhetorics. To the white man , all houses are Investment properties. They take out mortgages that they cannot afford and transfer the loan debts to renters. The Australian govt is not doing anything about rent regulation or even building affordable housing. Wait!!!!they are doing something, Blaming the migrants for putting more pressre on the housing crisis(the house wey no even dey to rent among the natives in the first place). Secondly, It is not same all over the world except for (UK,USA,CANADA, and AUSSIE) where houses are all investment properties. In other parts of the world , houses are houses. |

The house no even dey to rent also. 20 people go dey fight to rent 1 room. Obodo Oyibo...Na sooooooo!!!!! The houses are not even new, houses from the 70s with little or no maintenance or renovation works. How and Why should people buy houses from 600,000 - 1 million AUD? House oooooo!!!!! No, I think Customs was bias towards him. He declared all items and ensured they meet the emtry requirements. He requested for the items to be tested for narcotics as Customs does for all other nationalties bringnig in thier staple food into Australia. But for some reson , the lady refused to test and insited in trashing the items. Now that is the BIAS. Mindlog: Re-watch it, she didn't affirm.
A longer video, showed the guy got so agitated, the federal police got involved and cautioned him, also had to be frisked. The supervisor and more staff got involved and all his ground egusi, ogbono, custard etc tested in their machine and they were cleared of any narcotics, it was given back to him and he quietly packed them back and trolleyed away.
Being calm while going through such process does not cost anything, instead of insinuating racism, discrimination etc....abi no only Nigerians customs, biosecurity officers they search their luggage.
Even some who courier drugs behave agitated, claiming victimization until the narcotics are exposed. |

MrBrownJay1: Few yrs ago, I wrote about it on a thread here, here is a copy as paste
i was living in Tokyo and life over there is no different than anywhere else around the civilized world. the language barrier might be a little troubling at first but then if you start to speak it then it will get much easier for you. jobwise: if you dont speak japanese, you will have to probably find an english speaking firm that deals exclusively with the US (very hard to find) or work in a bar/club that caters exclusively for a foreign crowd(roppongi). This incorrect. There is the English teaching jobs and factory jobs if you havent got a valid working visa, dont expect finding a well paid decent job. No Work Visa, No work Foreigners are well respected in Japan (blacks included) This is in correct, Japnaese are suspicious of all foreigners. Japanese are very very scred of Blacks especially Africans, and would keep their distance. there are few odds of people who might not want to deal with a black man but that would probably be because of the foreigners that have been over there and made a fool out of themselves and the rest of us. japanese are very respectful people, have good manners and as long as you come correct, people will mostly treat you the same way. Japanese are also human beings, they are bullies, liars, cheaters etc.
there are a bunch of nigerians in Tokyo and a great deal will be found working in Roppongi, the "foreigners playground". there are many Nigerian/Ghanians owned businesses over there from clubs/bars to restaurant. be ready to be blown away by how amazing this country is. as for the small bits and pieces: - you always have to take off your shoes when going inside a home - bowing when greeting someone is advised - if you are lost, just ask anyone around and they will gladly help. - wherever you eat, you will be given a warm cloth before the meal (oshibori). you should always use it to clean your hands (even if you just clean them) but never let it touch your face. not everywheere, but mostly in traditional japanese establishments - if you like to eat fruits and vegetables at home, be ready to spend an incredible amount for that privilege in japan. Bananas are the chepest fruits in Japan - japanese cannot pronounce the letter R and some form of L when speaking english. yes you are absolutely right, and being late is seen as a lack of respect(even in dates).
here are some more - when taking the subway in the morning, you will see a majority of the people sleeping in their seat and like an alarm clock, they always wake up just before their stops. - japanese work very hard so if you are a lazy person, you wont make it compare to the locals. work very hard, or gibve the impression of working very hard? - in the office, even if your finish time is 5pm, workers dont normally go home until 1)the job is done 2) the manager is gone This in incorrect, Such companies are known as black companies. Although you can stay after 5pm for overtime work at your discretion. - japanese take work very seriously and their job is their biggest asset before their wife/children etc becuase work is their only source of income - losing their job is like the end of the world for some and thats why many commit suicide when they do. This is no longer true, as japanese now change jobs - the reason japanese dont often go on holidays from their work is because they are afraid that the person replacing them is going to outshine them at their duties. Please google "Golden Week "& "Silver Week", Also compare the amount of national holidays in japan to naija - if you like your women to be open minded about their feeling then you btter find a japanese girl that was born and lived most of her life abroad. Speak the language fluently and its gets better - japanese women do not shave and some are VERY hairy down there (japanese men love hairy women). "How would you know this? You have seen all Japanese women? - japanese cant handle alcohol. they either drink a lot or dont drink at all. there is no middle way. This is incorrect, Please google "last train and izakaya" - going to a karaoke is very common in Japan .Because it is a pub - going to a hostess/strip club to conclude a business deal is very common in Japan. This is very very very incorrect and a big red flag. You mean the booses at Toyota, Sony, Mitsubishi will take their clients to girls bar for multi billion dolar deals? please thereei scorporate white collar world in Japan - doing business in Japan, you always have to have a business card and thats the first thing you give when meeting a prospective business partner. This is expected of all Salary men - in the bedroom dont expect women to be very open minded and sexually freaky. even if they are, they are very shy and it takes time for them to let go. This is same for all women of all nations on Earth - you dont often see fat people in Japan. This is very very very very incorrect. There are several fat popular showtime personnel in Japan, and Yes Japanese food is not healthy. - it is completely normal in Japan to see a grown man in the subway reading a comic book or a novel , or watching youtube, or sport highlight, or reading office mail - taking the subway on sunday(not correct) can be worst than during the peak hour of the weekdays because all japanese go out with their families during the weekends They use their cars on weekdays, and they go into country side for weekend hangout - japanese men rarely see their children because most leave home very early in the morning and never return before very late at night. This is incorrect. Japanese kids get home form scholl by 11pm-12 am, so father not to blaim - going to a karaoke/hostess club with your colleagues after work is part of life in Japan and most workers go at least twice a week. I think you are confusing a hostess club for a pub. there are very distinct items - you might make a lot of japanese friends but dont expect them to invite you home anytime soon - dont expect to have a 100sqm flat in japan, for 1000$ per month, you are lucky if you get a 50sqm flat(rent in Japan is one of the most expensive in the world after Moscow) Tokyo is the cheapest capital city in the world, and you can get a 2 bedrrom apartmernt in tokyo for $1000. the farther away from Tokyo CBD , the more affordable - there is a good subway and train connection in Japan so living 1hr outside Tokyo is considered the norm to some. This is correct - japanese are some of the biggest perverts in the world, its not unusual to see vending machine for used school girl underwear sealed in plastic bag to keep their "freshness" AND men stand in front of the machine choosing which one to buy with absolutely no shame! This is not correct, please can mention the location sof these venfding machines? - its a known fact that many shcool girl sell their used underwear to make extra money, they wear it for 3 days non stop and then sell them to the various shops who will ask the girl to take it off in front of them, then they will put it in a sealed bag, write the girls name on it and even some will have a photo of the girl to prove it, - going to a love hotel with a girl is considered normal in Japan as most unmarried people still live with their parents. People do it for fun, they also have sex in their bedrroms. Most unmarried people live in their rented apartments($500-$1000). Luckly people live with thie rparents and do not pay rents($500-$1000 saved) - most japanese dont leave home until they are married. this is so incorrect
- its not unusual to meet a japanese girl that look 17yrs old but in fact is well into her mid 30s. it is easy to distinguish betwwen a 17year old and 30 year old japanese lady - in Japan, they recycle everything so if you dont separate your trash, they will bring it back to your front door(they did with me anyway). Recycle everything !!!!!! REALLY. Japan just have a garbage dispoisla system, glasses and cans on Mondays, burnable items on tuesdays, magazines and books on Wednesday etc. - if you get arrested for any minor crime in Japan, as a foreigner they usually throw you in jail for 21 days.

Sonel: Thanks for your submission but I am aware that in Turkey you can convert your tourist visa to PR without stress but I don't like Turkey and that's why I wants to find out if this is possible. Secondly I don't enough money to go thr study route, so if you stay in Portugal kindly guide me on what to do as I know it's not easy to get a job in Portugal from Naija. Kindly respond Sir I think you are mixing things up. There is 1. Tourist Visa 2. Work Permit Visa 3. Permanent Resident Visa (PR) I do not think any country will give you PR from Tourist Visa. If you are able fight through the immigration process, the first visa will be a work permit visa, and they come with requirements. The job must meet minimum wage requirements etc. PR visas except for (Canada and Australia PR visa programs) are given after you have lived in a country for at least 3-5 years while been employed and paying all taxes and pension contributions as required. So i guess, what you are referring to know is how to get a work permit visa. That means you need a job that will meet minimum labour requirements such as wages is at or above minimum wage etc. My 2cents |

I need advice on this - Can I easily convert my tourist visa to permanent residents status in Portugal at the expiration of the 3 months tourist visa, how do I go about it and like how much will be involved. I will also appreciate contributions from gurus who have more travel experience. Pls this is urgent and important for me to make a life decision Thanks all Permanent resident from Tourist Visa.....how ?? I am not sure you are allowed to convert a tourist visa to work visa. To qualify for PR in any country, you need to have worked,no crime records and paid all your taxes for a certain number of years to qualify to apply. So i think you are jumping a very very very very big gun. Make more research. what you need now is how to get a job that meets the requirements to get a work permit visa. I don not think countries allow people from developing countries to change tourist visas to work visas, which is why at visa interviews you are required to proof that you will come back to your country after your tourism is over. My 2 cents |

Only foreign airlines are enjoying flight business in Nigeria because they re insulated from the racket.
A living proof that this government is grossly incompetent, the country has 4 refineries that it wont fix, rather it wants to continue importing fuel.
And wait for a crony to build a refinery that will never refine fuel. Only God knows the principality that has sworn to itself to prevent the country from refining its own crude.
Until these vampires are removed the country will never progress. Import fuel? I thought fuel is much more cheaper in Naija, while would they import fuel? Anyways, the govt removed subsidies on the jet fuel, probably the issue |
