Adiahabasi: Pls my ppl help look into this case....a friend got ITA ystdy. Her husband had a daughter before they got married. Hasn't seen his daughter or her mum for abt 6years. The babe got married and refused him access to his daughter since she was 1.He doesn't even know their current location. He has Single wt child on his marriage cert. Pls what can they do since its not likely the ex-gf will allow the child go with them for medicals even if they get to locate them. Mbok my people help torch light this issue.. Is it that he wants to add the child to his EE application and to take the child with him to Canada or that he just wants to be on the record that he declared he has a child but she is non-accompanying? You need to be clear on what they want. If it is that he wants to add the child to his application so he can take her to Canada, then he first has to locate the mum and reason with her failing which he has to go to family court and file for custody. There is no guarantee he will get custody especially considering the age of the child where court prefer to grant custody to mothers due to the young age. It may be better to just locate the child, begin contributing to the child upkeep and try for joint custody when she is older. If it is that he wants to just let the VO know he has a child, he can list the details he knows, (name of mother, name of child, date of birth etc) and use a letter of explanation to explain the situation that he has a child but is not in touch with the mum who has elected to keep the child away. Don't try to bad mouth the mum, just be civil in your explanation and submit with your application. Hope these address your enquiry. |

Muchaio: Hello, After guest stalking this thread for a while, I finally registered. Finally took the plunge and got ITA May 31. Now filling the forms and I have few questions that I'm begging the gurus to assist.
1. I assessed my ACCA certificate. Country of certificate is UK but I of course did it in Naija. How do I avoid UK PLC AS I've even never been to the UK? A letter of explanation can address this stating that the issuing body is in the UK but you undertook the study and examinations right there in Nigeria
2. My spouse (accompanying spouse) was refused UK visa a long time ago. B4 I even knew I go marry. Agent issh back then, she was advised to fashi the old passport and got a new one with the middle name stylishly modified (Eg Wura to Wuraola) however all her credentials except the passport has Wura. She has since gotten UK Visa severally on the new passport. Since it is more than 10yrs ago, do we need to worry/declare this? I'm afraid if they do BG check on the name, email fit go uproot skeleton. Go ahead and declare it. As she has since received visas from that country, it wont be an issue at all since she wasn't previously denied the visa on a criminality issue
3. I also have small comma on my certs, middle name wahala too (I'm a proper village boy no vex). While the name is stated as Wale on my BSc and ACCA, my MBA and passport carries Adewale. WES was issued on Wale cos during my days of ignorance, I evaluated ALL certs. I have gotten a sworn affidavit that we are both me. Will this suffice? A common problem but not an issue as it can easily be explained in the letter of explanation that the name was sometimes shortened. The affidavits already obtained will add strenght
Abeg no vex,
4. Le Boo is from polygamous background. She doesn't want her half siblings anywhere around her application meanwhile the form asks for all family details. Can we just input her direct siblings and move? Me I don't want to play kalokalo with 2080CAD mbok This is a personal decision which effectively means she can never reference/sponsor the half siblings not listed now. If that is the way you want to go, by all means, let her list the nuclear siblings and move on with her life
Gurus, please Epp me Hi, see above. |

What is the cost involved? Will I be able to apply for one in person on a saturday?
Please I need some responses.
Thanks. No PCC on Saturday, the approving officers wont be on ground then while the cost can be as low as $4,000 per adult depending on your bargaining power. |

Boss13: I don't think there is anything wrong with it either. You have people asking questions and also been referred to read page 0 - 50 It's actually wise to read the thread from the beginning and you discover that not only will you find answers to your questions but even discover issues related to you that you never had a clue about. This Nairaland group is sufficient for those about to apply, those in the process and those at post-ITA, There's no point reinventing the wheel. |

ugoiyke79e: Hello house. post AOR,, I am hearing that i should have uploaded the naija fingerprints form alongside the PCC itself. This is both confusing and worrisome to me cos i always felt the requested document is the certificate itself. Pls can i get some thoughts on this? have I erred? do i need to raise a CSE just yet? For Nigeria, the PCC consists of both the certificate and the fingerprints form. Please always send both. |

Jesus4real: Good day house
please I came across this flyer of SISA TRAVELS AND TOURS at adeniran ogunsanya mall. They are offering Canadian 2 years work permit alongside job and accommodation.my brother-in-law is very much interested but I decided to help him investigate the genuity of the offer and the company first.Kindly share your experience as it would help a great deal.
Thank you Try to confirm from the agency if it is licensed with the IRCC and authorized to represent applicants for Canadian visa application purposes. You need to be careful with 'agents' who look legitimate but are not registered with IRCC and are therefore illegal and 'one chance' agents. I'm here in Canada and I've never heard of an agency that will look for workers from abroad with the thousands of Permanent Residents already here looking for jobs. I'm sure you have friends in Canada who are still job hunting, it doesn't make sense that a recruiter will overlook all of them to go and find people from abroad at great cost and with a time consuming process. Check this link to learn more about Canadian immigration agents/representatives, http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/representative/rep-who.aspFor a link to recognized agents who may have Nigerian affiliates, check here, http://iccrc-crcic.info/ |

Pls can the house advise me on what to do.Also my my first international passport has expired and we have already applied for renewal which we are still awaiting. Dear
YOUR IMMIGRANT VISA(S) APPEAR(S) READY TO BE ISSUED, IF THERE HAS BEEN NO CHANGE IN YOUR FAMILY CONFIGURATION. IF THERE HAVE BEEN ANY CHANGES, PLEASE CONTACT OUR OFFICE BEFORE PROCEEDING.
THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION AND DOCUMENTATION WILL BE REQUIRED TO ISSUE YOUR VISA:
Ø Schedule A: A separate and newly completed Schedule A Background Declaration form (IMM 5669) bearing an original signature for you and your spouse
Make sure you answer truthfully to all questions. Amended Schedule A. Indicate your past history since you reached the age of 18 (despite what the form states). Specify what kind of work(s) you are doing and have been doing since then. Do not use acronyms. Make sure you do not leave any gap in time. Indicate all addresses since you reached the age of 18. Make sure you do not leave any gap in time. You must declare if you have been refused any visa or immigration applications in the past from any country. Failure to comply may result in a refusal of your application.
Ø Additional Family Info IMM5406: A separate and newly completed Additional Family Information form (IMM5406) bearing original signatures for you and your spouse: If family information has changed please advise and pay appropriate fees for any additional children
Ø Police Certificate: From each country/state where the residence period has been six months or longer since the age of 18, provide an original police certificate
Ø RPRF: Pay the Right of Permanent Residence fee for you and your spouse
Ø Medical: Complete or provide proof of completion of the Immigration medical examination
☐ Updated family information: you must advise us of any change in your marital status or family composition. All family members must be listed on your IMM8 application form. Failure to comply may result in a delay in the issuance of your visa.
Note: Please ensure that all the requested documentation is submitted WITH your passport, not after you have already submitted your passport.
The visa(s) will be valid until the expiry of your medical results or until the expiry of your passports, whichever is earliest. You must be able to travel before the expiry of your visa(s).
As the validity of your visa(s) has been already established and is limited to a fixed date, it CANNOT be extended under any circumstances. We therefore urge you to read and follow carefully the instructions below without delay.
PASSPORT(S)
You are asked to submit your passport(s) and documentation BY COURIER within 15 days. We recommend DHL courier, using a pre-paid return envelope.
OR
You may also use the services of VFS Global Ghana by following the instructions on their website at: http://www.vfsglobal.ca/canada/ghana/ under the “Passport Transmission Services” section.
Applicants residing in Nigeria (PASSPORT SUBMISSION ONLY)
You may use the services of VFS Global Nigeria by following the instructions on their website at:
http://www.vfsglobal.ca/canada/Nigeria/ under the “Passport Transmission Services” section. If you received a letter requesting additional documents, please use a courier service.
Please note that submission of passport(s) in person will not be accepted at the Canadian High Commission.
PLEASE NOTE: Failure to provide the required travel document(s) within 15 days from the date of this letter will lead us to conclude that you are no longer interested in immigrating to Canada and your application will be refused based on the information that is available in your file. Once the application is refused, you would be able to reapply, but you would be required to submit a new application and pay a new processing fee. The new application would be assessed according to the Canadian Immigration legislations in force at the time that the new application was filed.
Please note that we will strive to meet the foregoing service standards. There may, however, be occasions when we cannot issue your visas within these standards. Accordingly, you are advised not to commit to any travel plans, purchase tickets, or take any irrevocable action such as selling property, or resign employment until you have received your immigrant visas.
☐ PASSPORTS. Check that:
There is an individual passport for each family member accompanying you to Canada. Children must have their own passports. Each passport is valid for at least 6 months from the time you come for the visa. Each passport has sufficient free pages (two required for our visa, plus pages for any transit visa)
☐ TWO (2) PHOTOS FOR EACH FAMILY MEMBER: These photographs must be taken with a WHITE BACKGROUND, not be stapled, glued or pinned (you can paperclip or attach them using an envelope). The photographs must be unblemished as they will be used to produce your Permanent Resident Card once you are in Canada.
Photograph specifications can be found at:
www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/pdf/5445EB-e.pdf Because of the expired passport, request for time extension and attach a copy of the expired passport as evidence. Fill other forms they requested and get a new PCC, the one submitted in 2015 is long expired. Get new medicals as those are only valid for a year. Attach the receipt for the RPRF you paid since 2015, that's still valid. Follow up the passport renewal by 'settling the boys', the passport will them come out quicker. |

Lochinny: Also please I need more clarification. My husband has 2 degrees. Would like to select the part that states 2post secondary certificates. Please is it necessary to send transcripts and certificates for the 2 degrees or to just send one and then indicate on education that he has an extra degree If one is just evaluated and we indicate that he has a 2nd degree on education will it increase to the part of 2 post secondary certificate? If I just evaluate want one to be evaluated, do I need to indicate in Wes form that he has 2 degrees? Thanks If you evaluate only one degree and it's found to be equivalent to a Canadian degree, you get points for only that one degree. If you want more points, evaluate both degrees and hope the ECA states they are equivalent to Canadian degrees. Wether you evaluate 1 degree or the 2, it's the same cost. |

TDELTD: Hello,
I am a bit confused. In my employment details while applying initially, the system didn't let me progress because i had a 2 months gap between 2 of my work experiences. I then had to move my engagement dates for all employment to follow each other. The issue now is, one of my letters of reference carries the original date as against what i have in my preliminary application, which i am certain in on the CIC records.
I have written a LOE and attached to the employment reference letter. (is this necessary)? Will this suffice?
Please promptly help, anyone who has/had this issue.
Many thanks. You can indicate and describe the gap period as 'in between jobs' or 'unemployed'. This has previously been used to explain the gap between jobs and is acceptable. |

omesanni: Why is everyone ignoring my question above? It is the Bank of Canada rate that all Canadian government departments use for forex analysis purpose although the rate for Naira is not published on the website as you rightly pointed out. However, currency sites like xe.com and oanda.ca are guided by the Bank of Canada rate so they are a good option to benchmark the applicable exchange rate. |

It is well oooo....thanks for d info....but how many months will d lmia take and I was even requested to submit my police report too and d test too....where can I take d test The process could take from some weeks to a number of months. Another challenge is the cost to employers. LMOs used to be $275 but LMIAs now cost $1000 each so you can see it has to be a serious job before an employer will shell that much out. And they have to prove that the vacancy has been advertised for at least 6 months in Canada and they couldn't find anyone to fill the position. Let's see how your situation works out, just stay on top of every demand that is made on you especially your personal details and financial implications. Which test were you asked to take? |

ebimarian: Truthfully I paid them thru an agent here 32k around Nov and de got back to me only recently that my LMIA application is now in progress, and your draft contract is likewise available, that my Employer has now required you to provide an IELTS “General Training” test score of (CLB-7 which means 6 band in each module) before they can issue the draft contract.an employer in Scarborough, Ontario.... Please what's your sincere advice on this...and where exactly is the Scarborough... Is it OK for immigrants? Okay, it appears there has been some progress in regards a potential job offer. Could you please confirm your professional background? You don't need to tell me your exact current employer, just confirm what you do and what will you will be doing for the Canadian employer. Scarborough is one of the cities in the GTA - Greater Toronto Area. It's close to Toronto and there are a number of employers there in the finance and I.T. sectors that come to mind now. It's an okay place to live as well although there is a high concentration of Asians there but not a problem. There is a high density of immigrant population there so you will likely get to mix with a lot of foreign born people. To be truthful, there are a lot of low income family neighborhoods in this city so crime is a bit of a challenge in some areas. A lot of people who work there actually live in other suburbs/cities like Mississauga, Brampton, etc where there is better family life/security and just commute to work. I myself landed in Mississauga and lived there for a while. I work in Toronto and now live in Brampton. You can continue to watch the process with the recruiting agency and see where it leads. Bear in mind LMIA issuance can take a while but fingers crossed. All the best. |

ebimarian: Yes it is...what did u find abt them please The information on their website suggests they assist interested persons to find employment in Canada. The catch is that they did not say if it is guaranteed for people interested to find jobs from abroad. This is where I would be wary as you will definitely be required to register with them and it is highly likely that you will have to pay 'a fee' for their job search service. If you had already landed here, I would have said give it a shot as landed persons don't pay agencies for job search. It is employers who pay this cost in Canada but as you are an offshore candidate which most employers are not interested in (due to the long, protracted and expensive process of sponsoring potential workers and pursuing LMIA) I don't feel this is viable option to pursue. In summary, I would say thread with caution. If you forge ahead with them, ensure you find out exactly what their service entails and how much it cost. Your best bet though would be to just get a PR visa, land here and explore your world of options here. This is how it worked for me as I have previously shared at Canadavisa forum (as Pipis Husband). My two cents, cheers. |

olayanjuke: Good Afternoon all, I am what you would call a silent follower of this forum and i would like to thank everyone who is contributing based on experience and knowledge. I have received my ITA (about two weeks now) and have also collected my Nigerian police clearance. I however need help with a few things and have finally decided to speak up. 1. How do i go about getting my UK Clearance 2. Can anyone help me with the format for The employment letter(i am referring to the letter that shows proof of employment claims) 3. Is there anyway one or more of us on this forum can gather and create a summary of the whole application process in PDF and then maybe create a link to it on dropbox. Afterwards if you have specific instructions you can come to the forum and your questions will be answered.
The last question is as a result of a post i saw that stated a serious level of cooperation between the Chinese and the same level of cooperation between the Indians but this level of cooperation is lacking among Nigerians. I would like to thank all the people who take their time to answer questions (including my own ). God bless. I see your questions have been addressed as for the pdf explaining the application process, here it is on CIC website; http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/pub/ee-presentation-en.pdf |

AZeD1: Hi Y'all
Does a reference letter need to be stamped even if it comes with a letter head paper? It depends on the internal policy of the organization issuing the reference letter. Some organizations affix a stamp, some do not. Just ensure it is done in line with the organization's standard so that it can be verified okay if a search/re-confirmation is done on it. |

@esosa4real - Don't worry. it will come before midnight today or by tomorrow morning.
Congrats to everyone that got ITA today too
my people, pls wats the difference between these two questions
1. Question # 4: Has NAME you been refused refugee status, or an immigrant or permanent resident visa (including a Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ) or application to the Provincial nominee Program) or visitor or temporary resident visa, to Canada or any other country?
2. Question # 5: Has NAME ever been refused a visa or permit, denied entry or ordered to leave Canada or any other country?
I am kinda confused. If I have been refused a visiting visa to the US, which category exactly do I fall under, which do I answer yes to? You should respond to Question 4 which explicitly mentions visitor visa. |

checkpoint: okay thank you very much, but how long does it take. This is like our third time of trial and there was also series of appeal since 2003. Hmn, very good but big question. For reasons unknown to us, AVO does not have a defined timetable to respond to mails or CSE sent to them. Some people get an automated response after 2 days, others wait up to 3 weeks and more to hear anything. The key is to keep sending until you get the desired result. This is link contains details of their email address and phone line if you want to explore further, http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/ghana/contact-contactez.aspx?lang=engAbove all, patience is the key to issues with AVO. |
