One more thing to add to the OP's post. Once you've satisfied yourself and have made your purchase, take the car to a very repuitable mechanic to have it thoroughly checked out. And there is a component that most mechanics say has to be removed that reduces the temprature of the engine(i've forgotten the name. Any of you guys can help me out here). this component usually makes the engine fan kick in once the engine gets hot. PLEASE DO NOT AGREE TO THIS. This component has been programmed to make the fan kick in when the engine gets too hot. If it is disabled, the fan will just continue to blow and this will put alot of stress on the engine of the car. Those that manufactured the car know why they put it there in the first place. At least we as humans will not put on an AC when the weather is very cold, will we?

I have a minor correction for your no.7 point. When you switch on the Ac Compressor, the engine tends to "Rev" for just under a second due to the load change as you mentioned. It is just like you giving a humph when you lift a heavy object. You will notice this by the RPM needle rising slightly and returning to the position it was.

percipi1: I appreciate your passion. I genuinely do. However,in assessing this situation, we have to be dispassionate. I do not think that Jonathan would not have cooperated with Amosun if the latter has approached him regarding the repairs of the road. I believe that a lot of us have a problem looking at issues beyond our political and ethnic differences.

As per the court, the Nigerian Court is not slow as some people made out. If the Govt is serious about a matter, it could request for accelerated hearing and judgment could be delivered within 6 months as it is a declaratory order seeking to do something in the interest of public.

The bottom line remains that if the interest of the public is paramount to the Ogun state Govt, they would definitely find a way to work with the feds of at best force the hand of the fed to do their jobs

Most of the South-West governors are willing to work and are showing it to the rest of the country. It is just political. PDP sees it as a threat to them that an ACN-led government in the SW is trying to show that they are incompetent. But what would you do if your people are dying everyday from the FGs incompetence? What proof do you have that the FG will respond? How many FG projects have been commissioned in the SW since the beginning of the current administration? Let's stop being FG apologists and face facts.

I agree that the Ogun state govt could not sit down while the primary manager of the road does nothing. However, it behooves on the Ogun state govt to develop alternative measure to ensure safety on the road pending a time when they could come to an understanding with the FG on the road management. Amosun has direct access to Jonathan, he could waive political differences to get his cooperation on the management of FG projects in the state.

If FG refused to cooperate, they could seek a court waiver granting them right to repair the road further to human right provisions dealing with the safety of citizen, i mean this as a suggestion. However, i do believe that there are many ways to eschew politics in this matter

Anything that has to do with the FG takes ages. Take the case of the Benin-Ore road. The other day Diezani madueke went there, she shed crocodile tears. What did she do afterwards? Absolutely nothing. Was it not recently that they started work on that road? That road has claimed more lives than any road in Nigeria.

Many people have a heart. People die everyday from the dilapidation of the Nigerian Roads, but nothing is done to improve them. Why was it when the state government had had enough and wanted to act that they woke up? Does it take 3 years to plan on reconstruction of a road? The Ibadan-Oyo-ogbomoso-Ilorin road that was awarded almost 10 years ago has not been completed yet.

The last point you mentioned actually made me laugh. A court what? That alone will take another 4-5 years, and by that time elections are around the corner. PDP will now use that as a case to say the governor is incompetent.

Atimes it is better to take the bull by the horn and take action fast, rather than wait for a government that doesn't care about the welfare of it's people to do something. [/b]

Eko Ile: The interpretation here is, when you do what you are supposed to do, you are wrong, but when you ignore your obligations while people die and suffer, your are very right.

Very Very sad...

And you wonder why people are so myopic. . . .it is really pathetic to see what depths people have sunk to in their thinking. . . .OH!!!! It is a federal road!!!! Therefore we must leave it until the government decides to do something about it while our people die everyday.

The levels that such thinking has brought people to is really appalling.

That front gate is usually a deadly place for the students. During my days as a student in Lautech we had numerous loss of lives there and several riots. Vehicles speeding from Ilorin don't even bother slowing down when the approach that area. It got to a point the skool closed that gate permanently and all students used the Under-G road (the back entrance).

@OP, this feature is called DAYLIGHT RUNNING LIGHTS, or DRL for short. It is automatically programmed into modern cars, mostly those with American Specifications. like geeez said, once you start your car and release the handbrake, it automatically comes on. It is usually meant for improved visibility, particularly in fogs and bad weather.

It is also part of "efizzy",, if you know what i mean

@ fluid and funkybaby: I don't see anything wrong with it. there's nothing stated anywhere that two co-workers cannot date themselves so long as it doesn't interfere with the company business. Infact i know a man and his wife who work in the same office. You keep your personal stuff to your bedroom and be professional during work hours. Simple as that. don't go about poking holes into every story you feel is incredible. Things happen in this world no matter how ridiculous they may sounds.

Wow. It's a very very delicate situation and you must handle it with a lot of maturity. It's one thing to have your heart dashed in such a way, but another thing to forgive.

I'm pretty sure she must have learnt her lesson to trust the one she loves and stand by him when things are down. I'm sure if you give her another chance she will NEVER do such a thing again knowing fully well she almost lost you. But she shouldn't have doubted you, her future husband in the first place. If you start out with such a shaky foundation and go ahead and marry her, you may not have a happy marriage.

It's a serious decision you will have to make, but follow your heart. Give it time and alot of thought and if you think you can weather the storm and patch up, take her back. But if you doubt it, i will say you have to leave her.

No matter what they do, it cannot bring back the lives of those people. I lost my mother-in-law on that flight, barely a month after my wedding, and it still burns me in my heart that she did not live to enjoy the fruits of her hard labor. RIP mum.
