Vaccines keep children alive and prevent global pandemics. Imagine if smallpox hadn't been eradicated and people had your mindset then we will be suffering it from time to time. |

Bevista: Fair point. It's always been my candid view, though, that govt should completely hands off trying to determine prices of petroleum products (and power as well). Prices should be driven by competitive market forces.
The current model of price fixing and subsidies is not sustainable. Apart from the fact that it encourages corruption, the major drawback is that it discourages private sector investments. We should just adopt the telecoms model for POWER and PETROLEUM PRODUCTS. And put in place safeguards against price fixing. |
Politics › Re: FG To Reduce Petrol Pump Price From ₦125 To ₦123.5 Per Litre by blank(f): 5:46am On Apr 01, 2020 |
Bevista: A lot of folks saying price should be much lower due to the dramatic crash in crude oil prices.
Unfortunately, crude oil accounts for only around 50% of refining cost. Other costs such as personnel, administrative, shipping, insurance, taxes, etc are still either constant or gone higher.
It's important to keep that in mind when forming our expectations on what the ideal fuel price should be. That's agreed but crude has gone from a high of $70 to $22 which is almost a 70% decrease. Right now, everyone is cutting costs and the refineries should not be different whether imported or not. |

SperoQuest: Our Nigerian government should not accept any testing kit from China.
Why is it that the cases in Nigeria started to rise after the test kits from the Chinese Billionaire arrived?
NIGERIANS open your eyes!!!!! I had to laugh about the bolded. Numbers increased because more people are being tested and the virus has an exponential rate of infection. 1 infected person can infect 20 within a week. Each of those 20 can infect a further 20 in another week. So you start out with 1 infected person and by week 2, you have 441 infected people. Imagine how many you will have by week 3. Don't forget the first infected person is still infecting others. You can bury your head in the sand like Botswana and refuse to test people. You will just have a small recorded count but many infected people like Nigeria has. |

The church is made up of both literate and illiterate congregants.
Those who came for service might not have been aware of the situation on ground. So why did he criticize the worship at home order from govt and expressed their decision to still hold services regardless what the gates of hell will do? Why did he record a follow up video saying that every interaction must have physical touch if not everything will go downhill? Why did he not use the platform to turn people back as they arrived at the venue to be in compliance with the govt order? How did RCCG pass across their own message? |

Just that other parts of the country are not behaving like they are much better for the more education. Social distancing is still a hard concept to grasp. |
