This guy has a valid grouse with his company,let him pursue it.He has done some other investigations and reported the case to the right authorities,it is up to them to pursue the case and if they don't then the petitioner has a right to ask "why not?"

The EFCC is as corrupt as any organisation in Nigeria.But they are by far better than the police.They are at least catching some corrupt people.Let's pray they get better.

However, sometimes, things happen and love may be unrequitted. I know people who loved someone that could never love them in that way. Even after having a child together.

Good talk Imani.It is sometimes difficult to explain why we love a certain person.Just the same way we can't explain why we have stopped loving them.Just one of the mysteries of life.

There are usually many reasons why ladies cheat on their men.It will be nice to look at the situation of your relationship at the time she cheated on you before taking an action.Were you also cheating on her?Was it a loveless relationship?
Now I am assuming all was well.It will be difficult to forgive her,let's face facts.But if I love her and I didn't catch her at it,but she confessed on her free will,surely I will forgive her and get on with loving her.But the issue is ladies rarely confess until they are caught red handed.That one will be hard to forgive,but eventually yes,but the relationship will be over.

Sleeping with an ex-boyfriend,that one I can forgive easily,but not sleeping with a stranger or an ARISTOCRAT.

Why do women forgive men easily?Maybe because in Africa, it is still a man's world.You can wake up and decide to marry a second wife and if she does not like,well,too bad.This is really unfortunate but that is the truth.In the western world,women don't forgive men who cheat on them o.They sue there ass and make sure they claim as much money as they can.Thereafter,they forgive.

I don't think westerners are more intelligent than us.I work in a very developed society doing a high profile research job.I was the only black man during the interview and I got the job.That at least proves to me that they are not more intelligent than we are.But I will agree with anyone who says-as a collective race,the western world has made more advances that the black race.

In one way we are also better than the western world-We are yet to legalise homosexuality,we are not damaging and polluting our environment like they do,we still care for our old ones and we can go on and on and on.

For me ,I bought a plasma because of my games(Wii Sport and Pro evolution soccer).Plasma's are generally better for motion games.And HD quality of plasma is much better.If you are in Nigeria,I don't think you should be bothered about the HD part.No station broadcasts HD quality signal to Nigeria at the moment.And you will need to buy a HD DVD player to enjoy HD DVD on your TV.The players are too expensive and the DVDs are something else.

Seriously,the advantage of a CRT over plasma or LCD is the pricing.CRTs are too heavy,poor second hand value,consume more energy.But by and large they are a good buy for the price they come out.I had the Samsung 42 inch LCD but it was blurry and I had to change to the Hitachi 50inch Plasma TV.Try getting the play station 3 and you will understand why I spend all day at home.Go for a plasma my friend.You won't regret it.

Generally southerners think that Northerners are all dull people.This is changing though.I am from the north and did my secondary and university education in the South.While in secondary school ,even the teachers called me "onye hausa","mai goro".I went on to university,though it didn't really matter then ,I was still classified a norther.I am actually from the middle belt.

I usually advise people never to do work relationships.In any case the environment I live in is different from yours so it might be game for you.
As adults there is nothing wrong with it.But it has a way of interefering in your jobs.

Number 1:Is it under G?(Either of you is married or dating someone else).Then I will advise you don't even go there.Someone will eventually eb found out.

Number 2:Do you work in the same department where one of you has responsibility over the other?Then I will also advise against it.Soon you will be acussed of favouritism.

Business in Nigeria is risky by it's very nature.
To do any kind of business in nigeria who must first have someone you really trust as home.

Society does not tend to believe that women are capable of beating their husbands.And such men are usually laughed at.That's why we don't get to hear such stories.My friend sold his business in Nigeria to join his wofe in the U.K(Nigerian woman as well).This woman would beat him on weekly basis.Ofcourse she had the british passport and my friend was a dependant on the passport.What could he do?Report her to the cops?Or beat her back and get sent to prison(the law here favours women).He would just kneel and take all the beatings and insults.Last week he moved out of the house for good-after getting his british passport.

Now the game has changed and the wife has come back begging for forgiveness.The condition for moving back with her-If you slap me now I will slap you back!

The reason why divorce is on the rise in Nigeria is multi-factoral.In my opinion

1.People marry for the wrong reasons.I think only love and true friendship should matter.

2.In the past instead of divorcing a woman,a man could easily just marry another wife and another and another.My grand father had 4 wives

3.With many people becoming exposed to western ideas and cultures we tend to think we can import these values into our own marriages as well.

4.Maybe monogamy is still alien to us.Religion(especially christianity) introduced monogamy into the Nigerian culture.You will see that divorce tends to be more amongst christians.The reasons are not far fetched.You can't marry another wife so why remain stuck in an unhappy marriage?

I am sure there are more reasons why people divorce .

@Poster-Please ignore the views of people like Nihil-ce-M.I agree with you totally when you say your sister has betrayed your trust.You have the right to confide in people and take them into total confidence.In a developed society you could actually sue your sister and claim damages.I remember some years ago while I was working in the HIV Clinic of my hospital.A member of staff who knew a patient from back home in Zambia,went about telling her town's people she saw Ms Bleep at the HIV clinic as a patient.Not only was this staff sacked,the hospital had to pay the patient about 100 thousand pounds in damages.Confidentiality is paramount and crucial to tackling HIV.I doff my hat for you.You even told some family members and you had good reasons not to tell everyone.Most so called christians(Evangelists) are hypocrites.They live their lives straight from the bible with no regards for the consequence of their actions.As far as your sister is concerned she has done nothing wrong.But to hold it against her will only burden you the more.You don't need that weight on your chest.Because you are HIV positive does not mean you will be sick or even fall ill next year or the year after.I have seen cases of some of patients who have been positive for 10 years and are not on ART!!!!

Be strong,don't rush into taking ART now.Get a good doctor who knows about HIV not your everyday panadol doctor.Generally we do not commence ART for patients until their CD4 count is below a certain level.And who knows you might be one of the first to benefit from a cure if it is ever found.Though not impossible.Above all,let me tell you something-with advances in medical health HIV is now a chronic disease,just like Hypertension and Diabetes.People are now able to live normal lives with the disease.I tell you this as someone who has worked in a HIV Clinic.So be positive and happy!Sorry if I have dwelled past the main reason of the post,but I just feel the information I have given might help other people.

Hmmmmm, this is a trciky situation to find yourself in.
No one chooses who to fall in love with,but staying in love is a decision someone has to make.You will levae with this for the rest of your mind.Everytime your brother comes to your house you will not be comfortable leaving your wife alone with him.You will reminded about this everytime and it will hurt you.

You can deal with this issue by talking to your girlfriend how she feels towards your brother .How old was she then?Ask your brother his feelings towards her.Let him understand that you love her now and you will be happy if he respects that.By talking to everyone concerned I guess you will be able to decide for yourself what is best.

I live in the United Kingdom and I in the past dated a white girl.So I will contribute to this post from my personal experience.

Number 1 rule:White people are totally different from black people.

So if you ask me I think culture and background has a lot to do with what you are going through.In my own case while we were dating,this girl would insist I come and spend the night over at hers.She was living with her folks.I didn't think this was right and I always refused.One night i went over for dinner(abi supper as they call it) and it went on forever.As it was getting late her father stood up and said-"I guess you will be spending the night here,have you good night guys".That can never happen in an african home.You are not married to a girl and the parents are suggesting you can sleep in her bed!I discussed this with my then girl friend and she told me-"My father knows I am already having sex and he cannot stop it,so why pretend about it".That is the white man for you.I eventually left because I couldn't understand how she could continue being close friends with her ex-BF and yet claim not to be physical with him.But after working as a counsellor for many years I have come to realise that the white man actually does not see anything wrong with being friends with an ex.And truly there would be nothing physical going on.It is just how they are.Sometimes a divorced couple can continue living in the same house because they cannot afford to split the house.In that same house they will have their different partners come and spend the nights with them.These people are very very very different from us.

I think you failed to take that into account before marrying him.It could have been love.But they say marriage opens our eyes to so many things we didn't see before jumping into it.Talk to your spouse and make him understand your background.And if you cannot deal with this,then why remain unhappy,do what you think is right.

And above all,even if you lose this don't lose the lesson you have learnt from the marriage!

Nigerians are generally very judgemental.We all know what is right and moral and when it comes to giving advise we always stick to a high moral level.HYPOCRISY is another word for this.

I am going to be a realist here-

Why do people cheat in relationships/marriage?

The main reason is BECAUSE THEY CAN!

And the second most common reason is being stuck in a bad relationship!

The poster has clearly told us he is stuck in a bad relationship so I will dwell on that.

Most people marry for different reasons.The common misconception is that everyone who gets married must be in love.
Other emotions and factors can sometimes make people get into marriage,like guilt,pity,pressure from family,to attain a higher societal standing,wealth,etc.If anyone marries for any reason other than love and true friendship that marriage is bound to have problems.It is almost impossible to get happinness from that marriage for long.Sooner than later problems start creeping up and only "love and true friendship" in marriage can solve marital problems.If this does not exist then someone is surely bound to start looking outside when the problems start creeping in.So my friend @poster,ask yourself-Is my wife, my friend and lover?If you can't answer this question with a big YES,then you will continue having problems in the marriage.

Now let's look at another view point-most contributors to this post have condemned the poster-adultrey,hell fire,bla bla bla.Muslims are allowed more than one wife.And to marry a second wife you must at least know her,invariably you must date her.Is that Adultrey?Hell NO!We hear of people complaining that these days marriages don't last.Last rewind to the days of our fathers.It was a thing of pride for a man to have more than one wife.It the meant that for any reason if you were not satisfied with your current wife you could take another,sometimes even the sister of your wife and no one would raise an eye brow.That helped in curbing infidelity and divorce.Are traditionalists all adulterers?Hell NO!Now come to christianity-if you subcsribe to the teachings of Jesus Christ,then surely the poster is an adulterer!So before we condemn this fellow we must understand what his view point is on adultery.For him he is only looking for a way to be happy.

In marriage today we put ourselves in a quagmire-Fellow is unhappy in his marriage and cannot seek happiness outside(adultery) and yet the bible says he cannot divorce!Lets face it-the unhappy person cannot continue to remain unhappy forever,something will definately happen-either adultery or divorce or in extreme cases suicide.

So what do we say to the poster-Talk to your wife,seek a way out and if you remain unhappy by all means go your separate ways.YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE!
