babtoundey:Theatre Art is not a world on its own. It is a branch of performing arts. If you read further, you would understand why they take up courses such as classics, mass communication, linguistics. Every department does a variety of courses outside their major discipline. There is nothing special about that. It is just how education should be. There is hardly a department where you won't do history, statistics, English and some English-related courses, even if they are all combined into a GES course. |
mastermaestro:The truth is bitter, son. Christianity is dead. After the death of Christ, we had the saints who constituted the Early Church. They were not called Christians because they built churches or preached every Sunday/Saturday. They were called Christians because the unbelievers could not tell them separately from Christ. In other words, they saw everything about Christ in them. You can't buy this Christ-like quality with money. So, if you like, buy all the available lands on Earth, you won't be able to buy your way into Heaven nor would you be able to buy the sort of Christianity that the Early Christians practised. Christianity is dead. What we have is an empty shell. A religion no different from other religions of this world. Christianity as a way of life died with the Early Christians. |
mastermaestro:Christianity is not about buying the whole world. If you like turn all the buildings on this Earth into churches, it wouldn't matter. What matters is the people that worship there. If there are 30 million churches in this world but you find it hard to find one genuine Christian, than all those church buildings are a big waste. A true Christian would have said Wait until I convert you But rather, your sight was on the things of the world. So, you wrote Wait until I buy your inheritance To you, the church is marching on based on the number of church buildings. But what is the essence of a church building full of spiritually dead Christians such as yourself? And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul? (Matthew 16:26) The angels rejoice in Heaven when a soul is won, not when a church building is erected. |
zoedew:Islam is not peaceful. But Christianity is not peaceful either. If you are a Christian, you have just ended up maligning a whole religion. This is, in fact, one way Christianity shows its own violence. A lack of tolerance. I dare you to go to Winner's Chapel and call Oyedepo a fool. I am very certain there would be many Christians there ready to put a dagger in your chest. So, you have it. While many Muslims go violent over their prophet Muhammad, many Christians go violent over their Daddy GOs. I have been cursed with death here on Nairaland simply because I spoke against a pastor. If that is not violence, then, tell me what is. Adeboye said he wants a Redeem Church in every street corner. Is that not Christianization ![]() |
smileyoo:When you wrote self-defense, were you referring to the US-Iran faceoff? If yes, I don't see how the US assassinating an Iranian general constitutes self-defense. Moreover, there is always a motive for everything. What is Leke's motive for supporting Trump? From his write-up, it is evident what his motive is. Just like every ignorant Christian out there, he is seeing this faceoff from the perspective of religion. To him, the United States represents Christianity and Iran represents Islam. By writing that no one has a monopoly on rascality, it is very evident that Leke is throwing shades at Islam. This amounts to heating up the polity. A supposed pastor should talk less. By talking so much, he is daily exposing his baffling ignorance. If an Islamic sect blows up his father's church, how would he feel if someone somewhere overtly rejoices? |
mastermaestro:You actually think Christianity is waxing stronger? They are making a mockery of Christianity everywhere, especially in Africa. From someone calling God on his cellphone to a group of church members eating grass. There are those bowing down to images and those making sextapes of them performing MouthAction on a woman. And those claiming that all pastors like big booty women. My brother, Christianity is dead. |
This guy does not know how ridiculous he looks when he wears all those tight trousers. Disgusting!!! |
mastermaestro:This is not about the UN. American soldiers are not allowed to kill civilians, even during wartime. You can get a life sentence for it. Same with Indian soldiers. These armies are the most disciplined in the world. They are not disciplined because of UN or the Geneva Convention. However, you can't rule out civilian casualties during wartime. It would happen. But when it is premeditated, the soldier involved can get a life sentence. |
Akuruoulo:Screenshots of what? |
mastermaestro:The fact that you are in a war does not mean you can hit anyone. You are only allowed to hit enemy armed forces (or whatever constitutes armed, e.g., insurgents). You are not allowed to hit unarmed civilians. |
Lush100:Anyone can do that. The US does not even have the most technologically sophisticated military. So, stop hyping them. Iran will surely give them a run for their money. |
Akuruoulo:Yes, made by people who have researched using methods and materials that can be used to replicate the study. The data are reliable, that is why I have mentioned them. You might want to check the Global Firepower (GFP) to see the variables that influence their listings. |
Eze2000:It solves nothing. The United States has always gone to war over pretence of keeping the world together. They went to war with Iraq over false allegations of Iraq possessing Weapons of Mass Destruction. It turned out that Bush never followed Intelligence reports because it turned out that Intelligence reports never stated that Iraq had Weapons of Mass Destruction. Same thing is repeating itself now. Trump is justifying his killing of an Iranian Army General by claiming that it should have happened a long time ago when the slain general was a terrorist by every standard laid down. Was he killed because he was a terrorist in the 80s-90s or because he was still a terrorist? Later, to further justify the killing, they said the Army General was planning an attack on the United States citizens. It turns out that even this intelligence gathering had more to do with the army general's past as a terrorist than his present life as an army general. At the end of the day, it would turn out that Trump (just like Bush) had nothing concrete for trying to invade a Middle Eastern country. Then the Intelligence unit would deny ever telling Trump that the Iranian Army General was planning to attack the United States. |
Eze2000:That is my point. Wars against any Arab nation is always complicated. |
Eze2000:Which war in the Middle East did the USA win? |
Tiztonio:Israel does not have the strongest military might in the Middle East. Iran is ranked higher than Israel in every listing made in 2019. |
itu404:Why are you taking sides? Can you tell me what you have against Iran? |
Biafrarep:Who told you that the United States can hold its own against Iran? This is not 1945. This is 2020. Please, read an excerpt of an article on CNN website: It may be up to Trump and his allies to show some diplomatic subtlety. Negotiations are now urgent or Iran might indeed bring the house down https://edition.cnn.com/2019/10/03/middleeast/iran-war-games-kiley-intl/index.html Another one: Iran's agenda is clear: to signal that it can cripple shipping in the Persian Gulf using mines placed on supertankers, in operations it denies. And let's not forget the Hezbollah cells and Iranian intelligence operatives seeded around the world. Poised to strike at enemy (American or Israeli) targets wherever they present themselves. The very reasons that hawks in the Trump administration wanted to hamstring Iran and get out of the nuclear agreement are those that make attacking it so dangerous https://edition.cnn.com/2019/10/03/middleeast/iran-war-games-kiley-intl/index.html One important strength the Iranians have against America is its ability to cripple the world's most important seaway. Abu Dhabi has the lion's share of the Emirates oil -- but like Dubai it sits within range of conventional Iranian artillery, let alone sophisticated missiles [Check Link Above ] And yes, Iran has some of the baddest nuclear physicists on earth. And moreover, the Iranians, just like the rest of the Arab nations, can fight dirty (insurgent-like). The truth is, no one can say how this war would end. But it would be brutal. And Iran has a better chance of winning it. Not necessarily defeating the United States in firepower. Attacking Iran would set off a complex war that simply could not be won by the West and its allies -- and could easily be lost. [Refer to links above] |
Eze2000:The layout has very little to do with it. The fact is that the most difficult countries to go to war with are Arab nations where Islam is the prominent religion (Are there even any Arab Christian nations )Lord Lugard acknowledged this when he was about to go to war against Attahiru, the Caliph of Sokoto, in 1903. The Muslims have a way of turning a war into a jihad and by the time you are long into the war with them, you will start regretting why you started it in the first place because wars like that hardly ends. |
Lekan111:Yes, we always hear the good part. |
GreyLaw:So, Islam is not from the same source as Judaism abi? Is Islam no longer an Abrahamic religion ![]() |
Lekan111:That is why you have to provide correct information when you call 911. As for response time, it can vary. Sometimes, it can take as long as 48 minutes. There was a story I read of a woman whose husband called 911 because a strange man was getting violent in front of their house. The police response time was 48 long minutes. The first officer contacted to travel down to the location said he had no car available. But all in all, they are miles ahead of the Nigeria police force. |
funmisticqueen:OK, sweetheart. |
Jewessgratitude:Sane men who sleep with mad women certainly do so for rituals and not for pleasure. This not denying that some men would do anything in skirt, though. |
The gods are angry with him. |
She is evidently suffering from schizophrenia. One major symptom of schizophrenia is delusion. |
Marine54:What terrorism is Iran sponsoring? The problem of the world since 1999 has been Sunni terrorism influenced and funded by Saudi Arabia. Al-Qaeda, Boko Haram, ISIS are all Sunni terrorist groups causing troubles in many countries, including in our country, Nigeria. Yet, they don't have a problem with Saudi Arabia. |
PotatoSalad:Exactly ![]() |
czarina:Don't mind him. He doesn't know that war hardly happens between just two countries. Two countries might begin a war but others usually join in as allies. And considering how far technology has come, many countries might not be spared. |
There are a lot of ignorant people on this thread. This is the work of a group of hackers, and not that of the Iranian government. |
