Ah! I have always been a DIY fan. Just that lately I am getting lazy due to too many things on a brothers hand. And did I pay dearly for it? Yes unfortunately. I had to change a whole engine I6 E320 American Version just because my transmission compensator oil seal gave way and the engine started sucking oil into the manifold and caused the car to smoke, mechanics claimed the engine has packed up and suggested a complete engine change due to the lack of original piston rings and other repair accessories. After the engine change the smoke continued they then discovered a certain hose is sucking up the transmission fluid into the engine and decided to block it. The result was a troubled gear shift and slips. I eventually consulted oga google and it led me to an MB forum where I discovered the problem that cost me over a 100K was just as a result of the transmission modulator that would have been replaced with less than N30k with labour or a lot less with DIY. Lesson learnt. Any issue now or in the future will go thus: Google > DIY before consulting a mechanic. I recall January this year on my way returning to Lagos after the Xmas holidays, the oil change light on my 07 EOD came on. I panicked! I got a safe placed parked, checked the oil level and texture, after ascertaining they were ok, I continued my journey. Returning here, I had an oil change and the mechs couldn't get the light to go off. They said I will have to take it for a computer reset. I googled and bingo, I found the solution: turn ignition on, hold down this button, press that button and press that other button and capish! It was done. I cleared the oil change warning. So my peeps DIY first o seriously. |
protegesol: Yes i'm asking not because i don't already know that answer. This is just for discussion purposes. The reason is not far fetched. The site is superb and I'd say the best e-commerce site in Nigeria in terms of aesthetics, ease of navigation, richness of its graphics and so on. A look at what some Nigerian developers showcase as an e-commerce site will make you wanna puke. Graphics are either stretched or too compressed it won't look appealing. Some combine too many colors or site looks too scanty. So Jumia got it right and serves as a reference point to what is good. Konga.com has a near good e-commerce site but Jumia still is better for me. And note that when one say, something akin to Jumia doesn't mean the site has to be a Jumia clone. Rather, a site that is beautiful to look at, easy to navigate, categories well laid out and above all, usable. |
Fullstack38:It looks more like prestashop than opencart to me. I didn't bother looking at the source code sha but from the UI, it's more prestashop than opencart. But wait a minute o! With all the noise on here about being gurus and so on, is it that one cannot get a decent and professionally looking site without outsourcing to guys in India, US or UK? The Twice As Nice site is appalling to say the list. I won't put a penny on that thing. Abeg my nairaland brothers and sisters wey be correct designers, make una come out naaaah somebody needs a decent e-commerce site. |
Double post |
Decryptor: Guy, your portfolio is just empty and keeps refreshing itself when one clicks on the sites you claim to have worked on! For example, the switchteller.com website is just a website you put images. None of the scripts are working! My brother, I taya for all these guys that call themselves developers & designers. I choke in awe at some of the things they refer one to as their portfolio, and they expect you to trust their ability to deliver after looking at those. Funny enough with my little or no knowledge, I can do better sincerely. |
josieboy55: contact me on 08184096896 or email josieboy55@gmail.comBut na wah for you o! Like you didn't see my email address on the original post? Abi you no read am at all? Abeg comply with the outlines of the original post. |
These guys are just a bunch of crap. Waiting for ball to come to them instead of the other way. And the are playing rubbish. Poor ball passing, heavy foot etc. Tufiakwa! |
Thanks guys for coming forward with you interest in developing a world class e-commerce site for me. I will wish to see more interests and maybe a few of your recent jobs for a better assessment of an individual developer. I don't want a cut and nail job. I don't want a mediocre site I don't want a non-responsive site I don't want one that's not easy to navigate Colors has to be balanced. If you have the skills, send in your quote and recent jobs done. |
Send in your proposals outlining the CMS system u intend to use, your completion time, the cost, and your job portfolio if any. Thanks guys. |

I am ready to take my business online and wants to place adds on Nairaland for a long period but not before my site goes online. I am proud of Seun Osewa for what he has made out of NL. So I am asking, among the developers/webmasters/programmers here who can set me up with an ecommerce site similar to Jumia.com. I am not asking of a replica of Jumia but an ecommerce site that is beautiful to the eyes, easy to navigate, easy to manage from the back end and with online payment plugin for Nigerian debit/credit cards. If it is a Jumia lookalike, I won't mind sha :x Please send me a well outlined quote for this project and the program or application/builder you intend to build on. I will like the responses here on Nairaland but if for your own reasons you prefer to be anonymous, I will respect that and so email your quotation to jiokeh@me.com Thank you fellas. Pls mods, help me push to FP (Front Page) cos av never asked before. Thank you. |
Do u have another site you built that I can see? I want to setup an ecommerce site and I am looking at handing the job out to a reliable hand. I don't want no cut&paste Drupal or Magneto or WP patch up in the name of a site. |
£309 white gold with a total of 0.1 carat diamond stones. The lady I used it to engage I later had reasons to break it off after 2 yrs of courtship. Beautiful engagement ring don't guarantee a virtuous wife in the making. My brother, buy copper ring, if your woman adores you, she will appreciate and adore the ring cos it came from YOU. She feels there's always a part of you with her when she wears the ring. |
vivacious vivi: I beg to differ. It is very possible and I will accept the money without delay!!!It is easier for a woman to accept this kind of offer than a man. For women, vibrat0r and finger thingz and they are climbing 9th cloud like a rocket. But the case is different for a man. A man achieves max satisfaxn when there is a physical being of the opposite $£x in the mix. Let the abstinence include the prohibition of touching & vibrat0r thinz let's see the woman that will stand tall and say she can. |
You gotta review those prices downwards if you ask me. A lot has happened since April. |
Because it is the man now, all these our nairaland women chose to shy away from their usual question. How come nobody has asked the woman what she is doing that despite her being the sole bread winner of the house, her husband still had the need to frolic and even bring into their matrimonial home, another woman? Reverse the situation now and all we will here is "The man must have been doing something that pushed the woman into the arms of another man". Oya, make una ask the same question to the woman naaaah. Abi na only man the push woman into the arms of another man? Double standards. Mcheeeeeeeew. |
Wow! All these women that has responded to Delta-man's wife has given me hope that all is not lost after all. I congratulate all your hubbies and to be hubbies for landing the rare gems of our 21st century. God bless you all. |
qwinliz: Pls I need a family counsellor in the house who I can unburden my heart to.PM me. Just hold it in and don't do anything brash. |

I have already upgraded my iPad and rocking the new iOS7. It's awesome. Safari is blazing through the web like lightening. I tested the so called security flaw found, it is either a hoax, already patched or it is device specific. I love Apple.

This is not what God intended for His church: for church leaders to brainwash his followers to the point of facing the truth downwards. This bubble has burst, with this girl setting the pace, many more are going to come forward. Someone else is already talking and also challenged the man to deny it and have himself to blame. Read on . . . . Link: http://xtianlounge.com/news-i-was-almost-a-victim-of-pastor-biodun-fatoyinbo-coza-franca/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter This Ese Walters story is true. I was introduced to the church in Abuja by my childhood friend, who moved to Abuja from Calabar two years before I did. When I joined, she was also a PCU worker. I really felt welcome in the church up until my friend started having problems with other women. She told me it was because Pastor Biodun trusted her with so many official things even above workers that were there before her. I believed her until the day she had an misunderstanding with another worker who called her ‘Ashewo Mary Magdalene’ in the church. After that, her enthusiasm for church started waning while mine was getting stronger till the day she told me she was leaving the church and shortly after she left. By that time, Pastor Biodun had developed an interest in counseling me and then started telling me to take my friends place as a PCU worker. I was reluctant because I didnt feel like coming to church early and leaving late but Pastor Zbiodun assured me that his personal driver will pick me and drop me off and so I agreed. I started work as arranged but after a while, I noticed that the pastor did not respect personal space when talking to me when we were alone. He would stand soooooo close and rub my upper arms or my back which made me very uncomfortable. The final straw was when he said I should go with him to Lagos to take notes and transfer same online immediately for some Pentacostal thing he was attending and he knew I was very computer literate. I was excited till we reached Lagos and I realized that only one room was booked at the Wheatbaker Hotel, Ikoyi. Of course I complaint and the Pastor called the front desk ( or pretended to) to demand for another room. He said they would call back when the room was ready. He then told me to help massage his back becos he has back ache from sitting on the flight. I said I was tired since it was already after 8. He then insisted I lay down on thebed to rest while waiting. I said I preferred to sit at the desk and he laughed saying that I was acting like a small girl or a village uneducated girl. He then went in to take a shower. I then called the front desk to remind then about the extra room. I wasn’t surprised when I was told that they had vacant rooms and that nobody had requested for an extra room. By this time, I knew what was up and was ready for the fool. I opened his pouch and saw his wallet which had his lisence. Took a picture of the wallet and the Lisence on the pillow on the bed with my head in the shot. I opened the door and took several pictures of myself, the wallet and the Lisence with the room number. Came back in, once I heard the shower stop, I started audio recording on my BB. He came out with a towel around his waist and started telling me how attracted he was to me. He said many deregatory things about his wife, calling her a postcard…pretty on the outside but flat and empty upstairs. He said sex with her was like having sex with a cold dead fish…he tried to kiss me and I stood up, picked up my travelling bag, moved to the door, opened it and quickly took a picture of him, standing with a towel around him. He started begging. I called him all sorts of names and insisted he give me money for a separate room or I would scream ‘rape’. To cut a long story short, he asked me to shut the door, I refused, he brought out 2 bundles of N1000 and asked me to delete before he gives me the money. I told him he was in no position to negotiate. Got the money, left the Randy goat with a deflated erection and checked into another room. First thing the next morning, I left for ABJ. By the way, remember my childhood friend that introduced me toCOZA? I narrated my experience to her and she confessed that she was sleeping with Biodun for over a year, even on his marital bed when his wife travelled. Oga Pastor, try and deny my story publicly and see American wonder….I still have the pictures and our conversation on tape. Thank God for technology!!!!!! Franca E. |
Siena: You're a fine one to criticise, and call the OP's girlfriend a village girl. With the disjointed mix you've typed here - text-style writing, poor grammar, poor spacing and punctuation, you're in no position to pull anyone down.God bless you my brother. Cheap mobile Internet has rubbed off on nairaland. Bunch of illiterate weirdos are now on the prowl. I read some comments and I shake my head. |
Tinkybabe: Cut the op some slack jare. .how many people here can tell what friend? ? She's as anonymous as the op.so stop all these friend, fiend , foe talkGod bless you. The way some peeps self reason in an anonymous forum kwa? Okay o. |
