Christianity EtcRe: Oyedepo's Claim That Covenant University Wasnt Built With Tithes - My Thoughts by Bobajo(m): 4:26am On Dec 13, 2012
The bolded sections makes absolutely no sense. You are deliberately refusing to exercise your thinking skills and standing logic on its head. He who asserts bears the burden of proof. If Bishop says he didnt use the church money to build CU, then taking into consideration the kind of pedestal he is on and the disaffection some of the murmurings have caused, he should have clearly stated where the money came from with full, verifiable facts.

If i tow your line of reasoning, i can jolly well advice James Ibori to claim that all the assets he has/had were not acquired using Delta State funds. Infact, na spiritual blessings from the skies; and we all should take his James word for it.

Joagbaje: Before this thread came out. I have said it several times that a pastor is only a steward . No real man of God will use church money to buy plane and so on. Im glad he confirm this . We commit a lot of sin by assumptions . Many Christians have a lot to be judged by God for all the lies we have peddled against ministers .

I'm aware Oyedele has oil rig which he received as gift . Apart from other doors of wealth open to him. Can we just think for a moment "what if I'm wrong " we have spread false information without fact . Those who say he use church money, where did they get the fact from. Did they investigate to know he used church money.

It is believed that among every 12 people there will be a judas or a disloyal fellow . So no matter the degree of what you refer to as blind followership , if its true that the man of God lied there will still be a disgruntled or disloyal person inside who will seize opportunity like this to destroy him by exposing him.

If the man say he didn't use church money. We should take his word for it. Any one with contrary opinion should prove it.

Lastly , saying the man of God should disclose where he got his money from doesn'take sense. He doesn't owe anybody such information. Either it's from bank or foreign partners and investors , it's not anyone's business.

Let's not forget Satan has not stopped his work as accuser of the brethren. He also labelled Jesus as a dupe .

John 7:12
And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others said, Nay; but he deceiveth the people.

Thank you.

Absolute sense.

ayodot: To say its the handy work of the present governor of Ogun state, that the steel mill came in into play, can't be true.
Looking at the time he came into office and the time it will take to build a full functioning steel mill, I'll say it the work of previous administrator.
most of is first year was spent on witchhunting.

Praise God halleluyah... Slot finally gave me another Curve 4 last week, 6 and half months after the last one went bad. The truth is i will go to court faster the next time. It is the height of 'aifinipeni/aibikita' to sell something bad and not replace it or refund the purchase price until after 6 months. We must put a stop to this kind of trashy service in Nigeria.

Bobajo: SLOT is totally useless actually. I bought a Curve 4 in May 2012. It stopped working after 7 days. 6 and half month down the line, all i hear is triple bullshit. I even reported the matter at the V/I outlet cos thats meant to be HQ or something. The main guy there made calls tire. For where. I have asked the contact guy at the Igbo Efon shop if what i am being told is 'you have dashed SLOT N46,500', the guy just keeps quiet. It is the most annoying thing. I have instructed a lawyer to write them. I am gonna sue them for selling phones that are not fit for the purpose. It doesnt matter how long it takes, i will pursue the court case.

Thinking about it is even raising my BP again. Bare faced robbery and Bare faced robbers. Total rubbish.
CrimeRe: My Armed Robbery Experience And Thoughts On The Nigerian Situation by Bobajo(m): 6:18pm On Nov 12, 2012
I dont 'think'. I think its the same guys who robbed and kidnapped my friend Friday/Saturday morning (ref my comments jn the thread on the Access Bank Guy who was robbed but subsequently shot by policemen). Same MO, same large number. Same level of heavy weaponry and equipments. Same speaking in Yoruba. They even drove my friends car around the next day and subsequently parked it along Lekki Beach Road. The impunity is amazing. Only God will save us from the madness.
CrimeRe: Policemen Shoot Robbed Banker, Security Guard In Lagos by Bobajo(m): 2:26pm On Nov 12, 2012
Very yeye people sometimes naija Police. These same armed robbers entered my friends house that night, took whatever they could take - computers especially, beat him, and put him in the boot of his own car and started driving round with him robbing people. Infact they ended up releasing him at that same ikota after driving around with him for over 5 hours. We called all the police contacts we had and knew, starting from around 1:55am; the fellows just refused to show up till around 5:30am when we suddenly saw like 4 Police Hiluxes driving at breakneck speed into the compound - 5 hours after the robbers had left. Thank God they didn't even start shooting there also.

Yeye they smell.

PoliticsRe: Seadogs Holds Save Bakassi Rally. Pictures. by Bobajo(m): 1:40pm On Oct 02, 2012
In the whole ruckus on this trend, the only thing that makes sense. People who know nothing about the Pyrates Confraternity wrote all sorts of rubbish, while the dawgs who should know better joined them in infantile bickering. I am not a Pyrate, but i love Wole Soyinka and have read all his books and as many of his writing as i can lay my hands on- he codified them in a 2 volume book called 'Interventions' recently. I even acted as the main guy in one of his plays 'The Trials of Brother Jero' while i was younger.

Whoever wants to understand what Pyrates really means to the members should read a couple of Soyinka's books, especially his autobiography 'You Must Set Forth At Dawn'. Furthermore, all information about them is in the public domain. Their meetings are done openly, and i personally have gone to eat barracuda with them a couple of times.

I have a couple as friends same as i have a lot of other people as friends; they are bold, courageous, fearless and will ALWAYS - please quote me here - defend underdogs (no pun here) about to be cheated once they are aware of the whole facts. And by God, they fought Abacha to a standstill during Abacha's regime.

Honestly, if we have a couple more associations that will directly intervene in national issues like they do, and not behave like the churches who tell people to pray all the time, Nigeria will work better. At least, they are doing SOMETHING about Bakassi. What is everybody else doing, especially that that old .... man that signed Bakassi away

Even the Bible said 'show me your faith without works...'

Good one NAS. Keep it up

PoliticsRe: Namadi Sambo, Sacked Nnaji, GEJ Did Not. by Bobajo(m): 6:34am On Aug 31, 2012
FACT - Nnaji had major pedigree in the power sector both locally and internationally
FACT - He's shown extreme commitment and a splendid sense of purpose in revamping the sector and pushing forward the privatization process despite the antics of people like Ajaero and redundant NEPA staffs
FACT - the rules of the privatization engagement says people with conflict of interest should not take any beneficial advantage
FACT - Nnaji's company against the rules rules of engagement started participating in a process in which he had 'insider information' as well as being one of the final decision makers
FACT - Nnaji was therefore seating in on a meeting where his company's fate would be decided ; a prime example of being a judge in one's own cause

RUMOUR - He should have made the disclosure way before the particular meeting at which he was walked out and not even attempted to attend that particular meeting at all based on that disclosure.
RUMOUR - His attempt to claim that he had made this disclosure properly prior to the meeting in question was put to the lie Otedola/Farouk's style.
RUMOUR - He was allowed to resign instead of being sacked.

MY OWN CONCLUSION: Nnaji should not - change that to NEVER - have allowed his direct company to participate in the process. It is just sheer impunity and arrogance. What happened to making back deals (if need be) with company you are not related to in any way on certain understandings after you leave office. He deserves a flogging for even being as arrogant as to think he can pull off such a flagrant violation of the rules of engagement.

I am floored at the fact that nobody could get the faces of these, these ... i am lost on what to label them - subhumans maybe. Something is not right now. They've probably been arrested for sometime, some moneys paid and all identification that would really expose them and their kins already taken off the social media and other sites they could be on.

I personally would like to see their faces and know their people. I will like to ask from them and their parents - even if rhetorically - how come they turned out these depraved.

We need to properly name and shame them. I am unsatisfied that they are not identifiable.
PropertiesRe: Demolition On-going In Mpape, Abuja by Bobajo(m): 1:02pm On Aug 17, 2012
Unfortunately, this is the most accurate description of what is happening. Mpape is too close to Maitama to survive. Just like Maroko (now renamed Oniru) was too close to Victoria Island in those days. And to be fair to the FCDA, all the houses in Mpape were built illegally. I know this because my mom in law has/had 2 houses there and she said at the time they bought the land, FCDA told them that Mpape is zoned to be a quarry in the Abuja Masterplan, and that building houses there is at their own risk. Mind you this was over 15 years ago. I really feel for the woman. Nigeria just dont treat citizens who are not rich right. It's unfortunate.

tunes2k10: what do Mpape people expect......, it is the next target for the rich politicians (those just or currently in power). there is no more land in Wuse, wuse II, Garki, Asokoro, Maitama (or why do you think our first ladies are fighting over the land close to Nanet Suite) and even the newly opened up areas like Maitama Extension, Lokogomo and Jahi, that are quite close to the city center has been quickly shared among themselves and i tell you, it wasn't enough. These rich guys can't afford to go all the way to virgin area like Karshi, Orozo, Bwari, kwali, or along the Airport road becos it's far and necessary amenities are not there. The closer sub-hub to the city center is of course Mpape, it's less than 5mins drive to the heart of Maitama and Anyone that has ever been to Mpape will attest to the fact that from Mpape (which is an elevated settlement) you can see the awesome beauty of Abuja (infact, you can equal Mpape to Ministers' Hill if not better when it come to getting a great view of the city). i need not mention that majority of the artisan, traders, labourers, low income earners (both public and private), drivers etc are living in mpape in order to survive in the over priced city called Abuja.

It's a pity that the rich has set their eye on Mpape, they won't stop till it's brought down.

AutosRe: Land And Car Exchange by Bobajo(op): 2:20pm On Jul 30, 2012
If i read you correctly, your point being that it is the pricing of the land that makes it easier to sell than a car of similar price. Jesus wept!!! You obviously are totally ignorant of what buying/owning a land entails, aren't you? Let me educate you a bit:

I want to buy a plot of land that costs N3 Million. I get a lawyer to do the due diligence required so i don't end up in court or at the Police Station fighting the land sellers and/or other innocent purchasers = I pay lawyer N150k in fees. I start the process of converting the title and do the Survey Plan in my name = N300k (current pricing in the Lekki/Ajah axis); I do the Deed of Assignment and get the Native Owners to sign = N150k (varies depending on where the land is. The Ojomu's collect between N500k and N1 Million).

I start taking possession because it is a risk to leave land bare in Lagos State and have to fence = N1.5 million minimum. Native Land Owners ('Omo Onile's) fee for starting construction = minimum of N250k depending on where the land is located.

I start the process of transfer of title at the Lands Registry = currently 15% of assessed land value in Lagos State. The percentage climbs to at least 30% if you factor in taxes, legal fee for perfection and facilitation costs.

Lets do the addition = N3,000,000 + 150,000 + N300,000 + N150,000 + N1,500,000 + N250,000 + N225,000. Total comes to N5,575,000

Lets do the comparative analysis for a car of N3,000,000. I register the car = N35,000. I do the insurance = N150,000. I ... ehrm, ehrm .... okay nothing again. Total cost N3,185,000

Note that i am even only dealing with the cost issue. I don't even want to quantify the man hours and the 'nonsense' interface you will need to do with all kinds of people when buying land and trying to secure it. From the obnoxious 'omo oniles' to the thieving contractors and builders, to all sorts of people who seem to consider it their mission to make your life a misery. Compare this to walking into a car shop. Pay. Drive off. Why do you think people are so wary when it comes to buying land?

I have tried to simplify the above as much as possible so you can gain a bit of understanding. Your assertion as it concerns pricing as it relates to the ease of buying land vis a vis a car totally, irretrievably simplistic. A simplicity borne out of ignorance. I will advise that you don't make assertions on things you know nothing about.

Enjoy your day.

acidtalk: Why don't you be the one to stop being a disgusting illiterate here? Why didn't you quote up to the words in bracket? It clearly shows you lack wisdom.

What that meant is that it is easier to sell a land than a car if both cost N3m each. People have woken up to realize they need to invest more in by a land than acquiring a car of that same amount.

Now I need a plot of land in exchange with the knowledge I just gave you. Anoufiah!

stpat1: Its Scam jare. If the land is worth over 3m then how much is the car that you cannot sell the land, buy the car and still have enough change? Don't know of any mugu that will fall for this sha
I have been a legal practitioner for over 9 years Sir. I have never scammed anybody and don't intend to start now. I would gladly sell the land if that comes first - I have a long list of lands that i want to sell actually - direct instructions from the owners including some from a top tier financial institution. If you are interested in looking at the lands available for sale, you can drop your e mail address and i will gladly send you my bulletin.

On a serious note though, you obviously have never seen this type of transaction happen before and i will wager that you have probably not bought land before also. It is a fairly common transaction with real estate practitioners. Asking questions will help you gain better knowledge in this regard.

acidtalk: Why don't you sell from your many plots and then use the money gotten from the sale to buy a car? Or is that too hard to do.
Lands sell faster than car to a large extent (on prices you have quoted).
Nigerians are not that stu*pid to fall for this sort of scam.
Make real owner of land come show face after you don carry car waka.
Nonsense!!!
If you haven't done this type of deal before, you should ask people who have and not spout nonsense. The bolded part really shows you have no clue whatsoever about what you are saying. 'lands sell faster than car'. I have done lots of real estate deals in the last 10 years, same as i have bought several cars, and your statement is the most ridiculous thing anybody can say about land transactions. Please look up my profile and see the article i posted on Due Diligence in Real Estate Transactions. The process of due diligence alone in land transactions will show you that you really have no clue.

Get educated first and don't pull statements from the air.

michelin89: OK! No human feelings, let's put it rationally.

Who is more at peace (I take it for granted that this man loves his family and kids immensely):

1. a man who lives with his wife and kids under the same roof, get to see them all the time and knows exactly what is happening in their lives

or

2. a man who has wives scattered all over to place, who has to travel everyday to be in one house or the other, who has less than a day to apprehend, digest and find solutions to the problems occuring in each home, who might have to face multiple emergencies at the same time and who has to satisfy the sexual urges of these women as often as possible?
You are generalizing again. You presume everybody wants a quiet place to retire to at the end of a workday? Not on your life. I know people who will fall ill if they are not solving multiple problems at once (both professionally and on the home front). I have friends who like me are quiet, drive modest cars = ki won ma ri simi - laid back and are happy getting home at 6pm everyday (or as the traffic will permit). I have some who are loud, brash, in your face, and cant touch Toyotas. The more flashy a car is the better. And i have a friend who has sworn he will not marry, cos wait for it, he wants to meet his things exactly where he keeps them (he is overly orderly and meticulous).

Don't generalize. Not everybody wants a quiet life like you posed in your questions.
