Most likely age is telling on your valve seals. It is nothing to worry about if everything is as you described.

Fake brake pads are too common nowadays. Some weeks back my brake friction material removed from the iron in motion after brake pad replacement.

I don't know the brand the former mechanic used but I later replaced all with original Asimco product. No issues since then.
