Juxtified: My call room at a private hospital where i worked, the curtain hanger pulled off the wall and the WC stopped flushing. After talking to the MD for days and he was forming busy, I bought a hammer N400 and nails N50, and i nailed it back in place myself. As for the WC I bought drinks worth N200 for a plumber who was under contract at a site opposite the hospital and he came & fixed it up promptly. Little steps can go a long way...At times you may not even need to spend your own money, just talking to the appropriate person (e.g. the CMD, ARD officials, etc) can go a long way Nice. That's pretty generous on your part. But, the hospital in question is not a half way house but a hospital. A federal hospital at that. It is not his job to fix whatever deficiency there is. His job is to maintain in his own part whatever facility exist in the hospital i.e don't leave trash around, switch of lights when you are not in a room, don't waste water etc. The hospital has a budget and a maintenance unit (i hope), and their job is to maintain the facility. It is a wrong mentality to use one's personal funds to maintain a work place. Absolutely wrong. Doing that perpetuates the rot in the establishment. At least that is how it's done in saner societies. |

AwesomelyMade: I have followed this Ubi and Lilian story. When you look at their pictures, Ubi always looks diffident and controlled. It's as if Lilian calls the shots and Ubi's countenance is always like 'at ur service ma'am.
Anyways wetin concern me. You know I care a lot, so I don't want an anonymous someone opening an account on nairaland here tommorrow, 'my wife is a bully, how do I escape her lynchings'. And how does this post make any sense? You can tell all that just by looking at a picture, huh? ok. You should be a mentalist. I hear they are in high demand these days. |

Burger01: Nigerians get brains. Not when you live in Nigeria and inculcate the Nigerian mentality. The only reason it is possible over there is because their mentality is not phucked up. Ask yourself; do you think her being a counselor in the uk, in the manner she won, do you think it's possible in Nigeria? |

And also what was your job description in those organisations ? Or what department did you work in? Your in put is needed. Read business admin. Worked my whole life in Nigeria as a marketing exec, now I'm a construction engineer/badass which ties in to my adaptive skill. Right now i'm thinking about becoming a programmer. SQL in particular. kettykin: So a 42 year old man is now the prime minister and head of government of one of the biggest economies in the world while some fraudsters with their change gimmicks has fooled Nigerians into electing a 70 year old ex military personnel to be their president. Your argument is misguided. Age is not the problem. The problem is the Nigerian mentality. It is a phucked up mentality. The fact that you think a man cannot rule at that age proves it. Winston churchhill, one of the greatest leaders the world had ever seen was voted a second time at the age of 77 and he was also a military personel. What do you have to say about that? Age is not Buhari's problem; his problem is he is a nigerian. |

Pavore9: There is always room for improvement. Yes there is always room for improvement, but we don't have to celebrate mediocrity. Nigerians love doing that. You have to understand that this mentality of "celebrating our own" is another way of brainwashing you to the truth. The truth is our "own" is usually substandard and mediocre and should not be celebrated. Why make crap that cannot be compared with what is already on ground that can do better. The fact that they made it in a university, without the supervision of the army tells you all you need to know about the weapon. In a "normal" society, the military supervises any major weapons development. Why? because they usually fund it. That is why they have defence contractors. |

Pavore9: A good development. Good development huh? you've not seen it. You don't even know the capabilities. Can it stand up to a 50 cal which we all know BH has. This is no time for experiments. what you need are tried and tested weapons because when it's crunch time you don't want a failed weapon when faced with the opposition. |

Celebrities › Re: Senator Ben Murray-Bruce Blasts Bloggers And Online News Sites by Bollinger(m): 3:34pm On Oct 21, 2015 |
Shalomdee: Senator Ben Murray Bruce, had something bitter for bloggers and media sites recently when he advised the President to be wary of news sites that have become a thorn in the flesh of governments at most levels. In his advice regarding the media regarding the media he blamed politicians who were greedy for leaking lies and half truths about themselves just to see the other outdone.
Senator Ben Bruce said "In the last 16 years of civil rule, Nigerians have witnessed the rise of online news sites that have become a thorn in the flesh of governments at all levels because of the sensitive news, half truths and down right lies they sensationally publish. Nothing has distracted Nigerian governments over the years as these news outlets."
The Senator also added, "They have also been assisted by print tabloids that call themselves news magazines but which publish sleaze instead of mainstream news. I can authoritatively state that much of the sensitive news that finds its way to these media emanate from competing ministers and infighting kitchen cabinet members struggling to outdo each other by secretly revealing embarrassing information about their colleagues to undermine their influence with the president.
"Where they have no dirty laundry to air against their colleagues, they cook up lies and half truths and these websites, hungry for Internet traffic, and their print media colleagues desperate to increase circulation and advertising, publish these stories without verification which are then swallowed by an unwitting public hook, line and sinker."

True story; While in Nigeria, I did not attend university and I did not even do a Hnd programme. I did what you would call a Higher Diploma programme. This means that after graduation you will not be allowed to serve in the NYSC programme. Now, this is the strange part of the story. I have worked in two multinational companies (BAT inclusive), two quality home based firms and also set up my own company. All in Nigeria at the time. Guess what a lot of my friends who went to universities were doing while i was changing jobs? they were searching for jobs. They used to ask me how I was doing it? I was changing jobs like someone does boxer shorts. I tried explaining to them my schooling started way back when I was like 3 years old. I had a degree in sesame street, comic bookology, cartoons, movies (not nollywood thank God, that shiit dulls your brain) etc. Basically my mentality was different from childhood. my first Nigerian boss wanted someone who could mix with big dogs and converse with expatriates and big wigs; ever had a conversation with an average Nigerian? believe me, it's very tasking and exasperating, as evidenced from posts on NL. My friends just couldn't understand that it takes more than book knowledge to be successful in life. The Nigerian youth needs to learn and understand this concept. Employers need adaptability and a refined thought process more than they need your book answers/knowledge. |

But calling colleagues "broke" ain't cool But it's true na. Even in America, 50 cent just proved it. That is why all these gullible folks droolling over linda ikeji's new home don't understand that the home is on mortgage. Entertainers suck you in with the mirage of ostentatious living, making you think they are more than what they really are and you all fall for it. Artist who don't make too much noise are the ones you should respect and take seriously. Artist like 2face for one. True role model. |
