#Godblesstheeagles You say thank God. Really? and you wonder why Nigeria's football is in the doldrums. The FA should not get involved in this at all. Other normal FA's don't. why? because they hired a manager to do a job without interference so if anything goes wrong the manager will not say that the FA was the cause. Let him do his job the way he see's fit. If he doesn't perform then fire him. If all the armchair technicians could do his job they would not be armchair coaches, now would they? Look at liverpool. Rogers is using the club as an excuse for his failures saying they were forcing players on him that he did not want. Particularly balotteli. Nigerians need to learn not to be too emotional. |

What do you expect when you pardon soldiers who engage in mutiny? you sow a seed of indiscipline in your ranks. Nigeria does not have a military. what you have are touts in uniform. And to think, they even left their weapons behind. That is automatic court martial. Nigeria sha. |
Politics › Re: See A Photo Of N1 Note That Was Used In 1979 When $1 Was Equal To N0.647 by Bollinger(m): 4:41pm On Oct 11, 2015 |
laudate: I said you were myopic earlier, and you keep proving me right. So anyone who does not agree with your warped description of Nigeria, is not "well versed, well traveled and actually know what the standard is..." to use your own words. Wow! Hilarious!
Guy, you do not know where I have been, or what I have done. You do NOT know me well enough, neither do you have any insight into my experiences, for you to claim I do not know any better. So please keep your negativity to yourself.
You may see your own country as a 'cesspool', to use your own words. That is your own headache. The rest of us, while acknowledging the fact that Nigeria has its own flaws, also know that not every other country is a paradise on earth, so Nigeria should not be classified as a cesspool. Patriotism and optimism do NOT blind us to reality. Rather, it makes us strive to make the best of the current situation, and work even harder at making things better.
Like I said before, you probably get a thrill from launching vile epithets against Nigeria. I guess that is how you get your kicks. Here, have the floor once again. I actually know what the standard is. The standard is people not engaging in jungle justice while onlookers cheer for joy. The standard is power generation for a nations masses. Not sometimes, not most of the time, all of the time. The standard is corruption should not be seen as business as usual. The standard is quality health care for all. And many more. Those are part of the standard. |
Politics › Re: See A Photo Of N1 Note That Was Used In 1979 When $1 Was Equal To N0.647 by Bollinger(m): 4:19pm On Oct 11, 2015 |
laudate: Yeah, I went to school.... better schools than the ones you went to, I hope. Now where in my posts did the word 'awesome', ever come up? Please point it out, in chapter and verse. You have now started clutching at another straw ...."military coups!" This is what those brainwashed foreigners do, when they want to go on a hypothetical journey to launch invectives against Naija!
Now, I realise you are a total stranger to Nigeria, yet you keep running your mouth with all kinds of negativity as if you have visited every nook and cranny of the country. What a pity! Life is all about experiences. What you've done. where you've been. who you know. In your case it's limited, so, Nigeria is fine as it is or getting better or was better in the 70's as you put it. You don't know any better. Google is not always your friend. For us who are well versed, well traveled and actually know what the standard is, there is nothing to defend in Nigeria. If there is or was, we would. Don't let patriotism and optimism cloud reality. "nuff said. |
Politics › Re: See A Photo Of N1 Note That Was Used In 1979 When $1 Was Equal To N0.647 by Bollinger(m): 3:45pm On Oct 11, 2015 |
laudate: And you were not even born during independence, so how would you know?? You went to school and learnt some sort of history. I hope. There has been one coup or another from 1966 to 1998 and you say the country was awesome. Ok. |
Politics › Re: See A Photo Of N1 Note That Was Used In 1979 When $1 Was Equal To N0.647 by Bollinger(m): 3:29pm On Oct 11, 2015 |
laudate: Yeah, it is 'crap' to you because of the following reasons:
1). You have a totally myopic, warped negative view of Nigeria;
2). You had a deprived childhood in Nigeria, and so you had to escape from the shores of the country.
3). You are unable to earn a decent living in Nigeria despite all the issues here, which is why you vilify all those who do so and you dislike it when they do not share your warped sentiments.
4). You are gullible enough to swallow all the negativity you hear about your own country, instead of conducting your own research and coming to an objective conclusion. I guess that is why you believe that fuel scarcity in Osogbo, equals fuel scarcity in the whole of Nigeria.
Continue to entertain us with your clueless remarks! yup....hear that eveyone. i'm the reason nigeria has no progressed since independence. |
Politics › Re: See A Photo Of N1 Note That Was Used In 1979 When $1 Was Equal To N0.647 by Bollinger(m): 3:15pm On Oct 11, 2015 |
laudate: There are 36 states in Nigeria. Osun state is only one of them? What is happening in the remaining states?? are they all suffering from fuel scarcity too? Or didn't your crystal ball on NL show you the true situation?
And do you even know what led to the fuel scarcity in that part of town? kindly do your research. It was not caused by a lack of fuel within the country. It was attributed to "a subtle protest by petroleum marketers, who were anticipating a downward review of the pump price of fuel." No one interviewed the marketers to find out if that was the truth. So stop clutching at straws, abeg.
You mentioned inadequate security in your earlier post. Yes, there are a lot improvements that can be done in this area. But it has not prevented millions of people earning a decent living from doing so, in our country. Even America with all its high-tech approach to security issues still battles with crime on a daily basis, and it still suffers serious security lapses. Probably with the exception of Saudi Arabia (and I stand to be corrected), I do not know of any other country where security is 100% adequate.
Power has improved in many areas. The sector has been deregulated, and new independent power plants (IPP) are springing up. The expectation is that power supply would have doubled in the next few years. With the exception of South Africa and Egypt, there are very few African countries that have 24x7 power all through the year.
Mortgage schemes are now available but then it takes discipline and a steady source of income to acquire one. With or without a mortgage, several people are still building homes on a daily basis, subject to their earnings and access to land. Our great grand-parents and grand-parents despite their limited education and lack of access to mortgages, still managed to build their own homes in the 60s and 70s. Some even built more than one. So why should their descendants be limited by the lack of a mortgage scheme, if they can cut their coat according to their cloth?
The educational system still has its flaws. But with more private schools and private universities already in existence and a whole lot more still coming up, standards are also rising. A lot of Nigerian graduates go abroad and still excel at the Masters' level and in other fields. I truly wonder why. If the educational system down here upon which their foundation was built was so appalling, shouldn't they be flunking in droves??
I guess, nothing anybody says would make any difference here. You are determined to view Nigeria through jaundiced, myopic lenses and hate-filled vision, which is why you take great delight in launching vile epithets and invectives on the country.
Oya, have the floor ... and continue doing what you do best! Anyone strange to Nigeria after seeing this post would be like "hmmmm, this country is really getting better" until they land at the airport. See how he keeps using words like "getting better" and "improving" so flippantly? Meanwhile what is "better" is all based on his perceptions and experiences in life. He doesn't know his "better" is crap. Lol.. . . |
