Religion / I Predicted Coronavirus Lockdown In December, Chris Oyakhilome Reminds Members by boman2014: 10:25am On May 14, 2020
Founder, Christ Embassy, Pastor Chris
Oyakhilome has said that he predicted the
Coronavirus lockdown in December.

Oyakhilome, who spoke on Sunday during a
telecast, said he told his church members in
the middle of December that in 2020, the
advanced work of God and the work of man
would collide, and that there was going to be a
collision in 2020, as the nation had come to
that crisis point.

According to him, “I told you. In the middle of
December, going to the third week that in 2020
the advanced work of God and the work of
man would collide, that there is going to be a
collision in 2020. We have come to that crisis
point. We have come to that crisis moment.”

Oyakhilome said he had asked his members to
go into three days of fasting and praying, which
ended on Wednesday.

“What we are doing now, as beautiful as it is, is
not what God wants as a church. Now the
church is a congregation. His praise must go to
him in his great congregation. And the great
congregation must happen. But we must use
everything we know in the word of God. The
weapons of our warfare are not carnal,”
he
said.

The controversial cleric said it was the
responsibility of the church to put things in
order, which was the reason for declaring the
three days of fasting and praying.

He said man, as a being, has a capacity for evil
and that one should not make mistake about
this, adding that there were satanic forces.

“I can tell you that. We are going to have a
global fasting and praying. The first thing we
are fasting and praying about is to restrain the
power of man to control this world with evil
and violence.

“The second is, we are fasting and praying to
regain our rights that God has given us and the
rights that God has given us are consistent with
the Bill of Rights.

Politics / Borno Suspends Lockdown; Churches And Mosques Asked To Reopen by boman2014: 7:32am On May 14, 2020
The lockdown declared in Borno state has
been suspended indefinitely.

The state government has also relaxed the
ban on religious gatherings, but called for
strict guidelines on maintaining physical
distancing in mosques and churches.
Meanwhile, the ban on Eid prayers are still
in force.

Umar Kadafur, deputy governor and
chairman of the state COVID-19 response
committee, made this known in a
statement.

According to him, the “stringent measures”
taken to limit the spread of the coronavirus
“yielded the desired results”, as the state
had recorded “significant progress” in the
fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

He, however, noted that if the COVID-19
situation escalates, the government would
revert to “status quo”.

“Henceforth, Jumma’at prayers and five
daily prayers shall be observed in all
mosques as recommended by the Borno
State Council of Ulamas in strict adherence
with social distancing and the use of face
masks,” the statement read.

“All churches shall conduct church services
as recommended by the Christian
Association of Nigeria (CAN) Borno Chapter
in strict adherence with social distancing
and use of face masks.

“Government has considered the
recommendation of the Borno State Council
of Ulamas which clearly states that Eid
prayers is Sunnah (non obligatory), hence
there should be no Eid prayers. Faithfuls
should remain at home during the period.”

The government also placed restrictions on
public gatherings, especially funeral
processions, weddings, naming ceremonies,
among others, which it limited to not more
than 20 people.

Politics / Demolition Of Hotels: Governor Nyesom Wike Justifies His Action, Replies Critics by boman2014: 2:19pm On May 11, 2020
Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has
insisted that the demolition of the two
hotels in Eleme Local Government Area of
the state was done in line with extant laws,
saying the state government has done no
wrong.

The governor gave this notion while
speaking during the state-wide broadcast on
Sunday night.

Wike explained that one of the owners of
the hotels unleashed thugs to attack
members of the state task force that went
to enforce the law against their continued
operations.

The governor added that most of the task
force members sustained severe head
injuries from the attack.

He said, “We acted against the hotelier
because apart from using the facility to
jeopardise the lives of our citizens in
violation of the extant law, the owner
audaciously unleashed thugs led by the
Eleme Local Government Youth Leader of
the Peoples Democratic Party and inflicted
severe injuries on our task force members,
who went to enforce the law against the
continued operation of the hotel.

“We’ve done no wrong as all our actions
were taken in good faith and justified by,
under and within the purview of the
Executive Orders, which have neither been
challenged nor set aside by any competent
court of law.

“Therefore, while we welcome genuine
criticisms directed towards strengthening
our intervention measures, it is no use
taking issues with uninformed critics and
social media legal practitioners.

“Granted that we may not have totally
achieved our targets, but we are convinced
that, so far, the lockdown and the other
measures have impacted greatly in
containing and preventing the onslaught of
the pandemic on Rivers State.”

Politics / Ondo Dep. Minority Leader, Hon. Akinribido Dragged By Ex-lover On Wedding Day by boman2014: 10:09pm On May 08, 2020
Ondo state's Deputy Minority leader, Hon. Tomide Akinribido got called out on his wedding day today, May 8, by his ex-girlfriend who accused him of deceit and fraud.

The lawmaker representing Ondo West State Constituency, had shared photos of him and his new bride on Twitter with the caption

"Meet the Akinribidos".

The lady alleged that Hon. Akinribido lied about wanting to marry her, after which he took all her money to fund his election and disappeared immediately after winning the election. She further claimed the lawmaker hinged his decision on not going ahead with the marriage plans, with claims of his mother being against his marriage to a non-Yoruba.

She tweeted;

This guy fraudulently lied to me that he wants to marry me. Took all my money to fund his election and disappeared immediately after winning the election.

His friends and members of his family were in on the scam and they cheered him on.

After he had achieved his mission he sent @Bobbyoba to come and tell me that it was his mother who kicked
against him marrying a non Yoruba.

Every single thing Bobby told me that day I recorded it all.

Hon Akinribido thanked his ex-girlfriend for
the "free press". He tweeted;
