PoliticsRe: Multiple Levies In Abia State. Somebody Help!!! by bongila(f): 9:35pm On Jul 09, 2013
vivalavida: Abia state is lenient then. I was the manager of a fast food coy in calabar from aug last yr till mid june this yr when i quit. The rate @ which cross river state levy buisnesses there is much. There isn't much happening in that state and they lack sources of IGR there. The only booming sector there is tourism hence multiple taxation. The oil wells they had were ceded to akwaibom state govt by the supreme court. Most times different set of people come to the office to submit the same levy with different amount stated there-in. Let me give u a list of the few i can remember now
1) every month,we set aside #30,000 to pay for TDL which means tourism development levy
2) health levy = #35,000
3) environmental = #15,000
4) buisness development levy - #20,000
5)liquor licence = #3,000
6) CRISSA meaning cross river state sign board and signage agency - #100,000
7) fire service = 10,000
coolbuisness operational permit = #15,000
9) sanitation fee = #10,000.
This ones are ffrom the state govt. You still have the ones brought from calabar municipal council i.e the LGA council in main cally. Some of these bills are a bit negotiable but dont expect much.

Before i left,Nepa went on a revenue drive and cut the light of all big organisation using what they call MD meter. Accused them all of tampering with their meters and gave us what they called bill of loss of revenue = #150,000, reconnection fee of #10,000 and you still have your nepa bill to pay oo
Buisnesses are moving out of calabar.
I concur to this Viva,I have a close friend who was managing a digital photo studio along IBB after Akim and I was a witness to the incredible tax rates.
Imagine paying 100.000naira for signboards? It wasn't funny at all. Sadly, the place folded up due to little or no profit as at the time.
Cross river tax rates are insane I tell you!

Finally fixed it! Long story short,my account was hacked. The hacker changed my password, added a different alternate email, hijacked my facebook account, changed my name and everything.
Out of the blue,a friend called me and said she got an inbox message from me saying that "I hacked her account, please tell her that her new password is I'm sorry123".
I logged on,changed everything and I'm hoping I'm home free.
I tried contacting yahoo to fix the problem and to speak with their CSO,I saw this number +130617026499 a night before the account was given back to me. For any who is going through such, call them and pray they can fix it.

Good evening everyone,I'm not sure where exactly to post this, but after going through most of the threads here,I feel here is just ok!
So I got an email from yahoo on Wednesday that my email ID may have been compromised and that someone tried to access the account from a location other than mine.I was asked to change password, for a more secured account which I did. I followed the steps to the later and was told it was successful.
I was asked to wait for the password change to take effect within 24hours which I did. Since then,I've tried accessing the account to no avail,I've sent two(2)emails to yahoo complaining of the difficulties I'm encountering but as at when I'm writing this,I'm yet to get a feedback from them.
My question is,has anyone faced this situation before? If yes!how did he/she fix it? OR Is there anyone that has an idea of how to fix this?? I would really appreciate any suggestion that can help me out of this,I am at my wits end.
Thanking you in advance!

WHAT ELSE IS TREASONABLE AND THREAT TO NIGERIA'S PEACE AND UNITY?

-Dan

2015 ‘ll be bloody… - Buhari

“God willing, by 2015, something will happen. They either conduct a free and fair election or they go a very disgraceful way.

“If what happened in 2011 (alleged rigging) should again happen in 2015, by the grace of God, the dog and the baboon would all be soaked in blood.’’

- Vanguard May 15, 2012

We’ll make Nigeria ungovernable for Jonathan – Lawal Kaita - October 2010 (on behalf of Northern Elders Political Forum)

"Anything short of a Northern President is tantamount to stealing our presidency. Jonathan has to go and he will go. Even if he uses incumbency powers to get his nomination on the platform of the PDP, he will be frustrated out"

2015: North Will Confront Jonathan - Lawal Kaita

“We hear rumours all over that Jonathan is planning to contest in 2015. Well, the north is going to be prepared if the country remains one.

That is, if the country remains one, we are going to fight for it. If not, everybody can go his way” - LEADERSHIP March 29, 2012

2015 may be Nigeria’s last election –Junaid Mohammed

National Coordinator of the Coalition of Northern Politicians, Academics, Professionals and Businessmen, Dr. Junaidu Mohammed said yesterday that unless efforts are made to ensure that the 2015 general election are free and fair, it may turn out to be the last election in the history of the nation.

- INTERVIEW IN THE NATION OF MARCH 17, 2013

NIGERIA DUE FOR REVOLUTION – Dr. Junaid Mohammed

“If You Shoot 500 People, Nigeria Will Be A Much Better Place…”

His words: “We are overdue for revolution. If you are afraid of revolution, maybe you have something to be afraid of. I have nothing to be afraid of about revolution, even though I know, again, in the history of revolution situation, many people who are innocent get killed and that is what a revolution is all about… What is wrong with us having revolution here? Unless, of course, you belong to those who are stealing government money or you have something to hide, then of course you should be afraid of revolution, because after the revolution, there is what we call revolutionary justice; they will get you and shoot you and there are many people that if we shoot in Nigeria, Nigeria will be a better place. In fact, if you shoot 500 people, Nigeria will be a much better place and God will forgive you.

- INTERVIEW PUBLISHED IN THE SUN, OCTOBER 9, 2011

It Must Be A Northerner Or No Nigeria – Dr Junaid Mohammed

Asked what he expected would happen if Goodluck Jonathan won the PDP’s endorsement to contest the 2011 presidential election. He said: “There would be violence. First, the PDP would never be the same again. People would desert the PDP in droves; secondly, the north is not going to take it hands down. I want to assure that I want you to hold me to this after seeing the way the events shape.”

- The Guardian November 2, 2010, Junaid – a member of the People’s Salvation Party (PSP)

DAILY INDEPENDENT Friday, March 8, 2013

Nigeria’ll disintegrate if Jonathan contests in 2015 – Abu King Shuluwa

“Any attempt by Jonathan to run for the election would plunge this country into total anarchy or revolution because the people feel betrayed by a president who told them that he would run for one term and thereafter return power to the North.”

“I saw a vision of the country disintegrating by 2015, but the only person that can save Nigeria from the impending disintegration is President Jonathan and he can do that by not contesting the 2015 presidential election.”

“If he does, then he is calling for the total revolution, which will affect every household. That revolution will start the day Jonathan is announced as the candidate of the PDP. If he dares win the election, he will hardly be sworn-in because of the revolution”.

Now, who should be arrested? Did Kuku and Asari say all this?

Christianity EtcRe: Pastor Adeboye: A Jet is Necessary For God's Work by bongila(f): 7:05pm On Apr 13, 2013
Kamsy10: Anyway in life you can always find reasons to justify any action. It makes life very interesting.
For instance you can even justify having 3 or 4 jets in the midst of poverty sticken members some of whom don't even have access to clean water.

The biggest problem with jet acquisition is that by collecting such gifts from politicians, our pastors find it difficult to defend the poor by talking some sense into our politicians. Rather when our politicians visit them, they just shower prayers for them and not say a word about the situation of the poor and jobless youths in the church.
If religious leaders can no longer speak for the poor, then the country is finished
So one can say that some of our pastors have contributed a lot to corruption in Nigeria.
If you must own a jet, why 3 or 4 when members feed on $2 a day. What happened to youth empowerment/job creation for church members.
Last time I checked, thats not Christ-like
So Enoch Adeboye has 3-4 jets? Interesting! About the youth empowerment/job creation thing don't be too quick to say what you have no idea about. I can bet you that there's no time, jobs vacancies are not announced in meetings, seminars and workshops too. I know a pastor who is a manager with MTN retail outlet and the number of people he has personally secured employment for with MTN.
On advicing politicians, who says they don't? Wait till you start keeping the kinda schedules this people do then you'll come here and tell us how easy and convenient it is to fly commercial.
