noordean:True. He does not need to be an emir. The role makes him too quiet, by now Sanusi would have made press statements that would create upturns and cause roars. |
efilefun:I agree with you. Why is the president deaf, dumb and blind to corruption and why has the EFCC obtained the same similar traits. If a man is corrupt, investigate him. |
I have been reviewing the statements made by Buhari and it amazes me the terms he uses -"WE", "MY PARTY". He has never personalised the campaign. He may have been a dictator, but this man is a true democrat. He surely need people like him in that seat to stir us to greatness. |
SeverusSnape:It takes nothing. Surround yourself with very smart, decisive and honesty economists that you trust. Implement their ideas and see the magic roll. So Buhari does not need to know anything about the economy. If he has an eye to select people of integrity like himself, who will not bulge to internal and external influences, Nigeria will be great as China. |
Well I must confess, I want Buhari to win for a lot of reasons but I think there is the possibility of Jonathan winning the election. The president has spent so much dollars and re-strategize on how to manipulate the results. If the President does not win, it will only continue to emphasise on the well note connotation - Clueless |
God what is happening? This is just a contest and a do or die. If you lose, accept |
What is the nonsense with police report. Why can't doctor treat injured patient and report the patient to the police for investigation. What kind of jungle society do we have? |
What hurts the most is people supporting wickedness. If jonathan lose this election, I would get drunk and drive naked in celebration. I don't care who wins, jonathan should just go back to otuoke |
Damn, the man in the pic actually resembles Shekau without his head scarf |
BabaO2:This is the exact question we should be asking and not the president. We do not operate a State police in this country. The police were ineffective because manpower was not available. I believe the robbers were fully aware of this, because how come a robbery attack took place at evening time when banks are closing their books and not afternoon when banking activities are at their peak. I have previously said that the robbers are either military personnel (ex or currently in service) and were well informed or studied the trend of the president's visits over time. We have to learn from this and correct our mistakes, else it would happen again. By the way, the president visited Lagos over the weekend. Probably he would visit again this weekend. |
What is the basis of her appointment - Qualification or merely to satisfy Godfathers |
liberty300:How do you expect the Governor to own up when the police were busy protecting the president. If there is anybody to own up and apologise it should be the Police. How come the robbery was successful without any interference? The police should explain the gaps. Part of the reason explained by the governor is that they were providing security services for the president. I have unfortunately witnessed one of the president's visits to Lagos and I can confirm to you that it is a hell of a show with almost all police operatives, especially the riot policemen, detailed for security measures. That denies the entire city the same service that they pay for with their taxes. Organising a robbery, especially in Lagos requires detail planning. Lagos is a rowdy and congested place. I believe that was why the robbers used the waterways. We have to say the truth, the president's visits to Lagos is becoming a burden to the residents of Lagos. The traffic congestion and now insecurity fears. |
Jonathan these your lies are getting out of hand and will finally eat you up |
ozoigbondu:These are the same people that will dance for Buhari when he becomes President - Sycophants. |
He has emptied out the treasury. Cost of dollars high |
KoloOyinbo:Please let them know. This stuff don't exist. |
FFK the man lacks shame |
OrlandoOwoh:That is mere speech. Trust Buhari to go on a witch hunting spree. Starting with Babaginda, even Obasanjo (if culpable). Our treasury is dried courtesy of Otuoke Bound Jonathan, even a baby can see the money changing hands. What is Buhari going to run his administration with - his blood. Of course, the thieves will explain their sudden wealth. For the niger militants - a few navy shootouts will send them to their hidings. While other military government ignored them was because of human rights issues. If I am president, I shall treat them as criminals because amnesty has been granted and they rescinded the plea. |
Fayose style - damn that's some hard fact truth |
The letter indicates a coup in the making. Some soldiers are not happy with what is happening. Jonathan, jonathan why are you doing this to us |
Those guys are military guys |
I am ashamed of this president. |
Where is Mbu |
The price looks good but will be a difficult sell due to change in customer preference. A range rover for that amount - na me go beg you for 2.5mil |
pfijacobs:Ha the price don come down oh |
Export1:Thanks again. But I would love a proper quote for each model/year to facilitate my decision making process. |
Clerverly:Gawd this hilarious as the same time true. |
ozoigbondu:This is a funny way to put it. I support the move but also consider it to be partial. We have to be sure that they are not looting state treasury to fund election. However, the president should be sure that himself is clean because those who come to equity must come with clean hands. |
C'mon this is unfair practice. The president should have also included those who gave him money. Funny enough, Buhari's name is not on the list. A man with a huge integrity. I respect that. |
A well welcome development. The recommendations by the house of rep committee is very welcome. I only pray that they pass the PIB soon. |
When the president, his aides and supporters make boast about things like this; I just shake my head. The president barely scratches the surface, whilst allowing the fundamental issue to still persist. If you must judge this president, it should be on the basis on standard of living. This president has succeeded to create two economies in this country; one for him and his friends and the other for the masses. The president has succeeded in drying up treasury funds and circulated it to his friends. He has also legalised abnormality and criminality, circumvented institutions, rules and process for his selfish purpose and self interests of his friends and supporters. This president continues to deepen divides and create tensions amongst people on security, religion and ethnic issues. His primary responsibility includes promoting unity amongst all people. To be honest, I am ashamed of him and I deeply regret that if a roll call of past and present presidents is taken, his name would be mentioned. |
xrisdon:I did not insult you but considered the post to be dumb. Even this comment you just made. You do not assume on the premise of statements. We are in a democracy and in a democracy we are guided by the constitution (the highest law in the country). You cannot arrest people without any iota of suspicion. It is left on the onus of the alleged corrupt person to prove that he did not partake in any corrupt activity. Though, it is assume that corrupt persons are innocent until proven guilty. From your post, I will presume that many of us do not understand how corruption is being fought. Some based their indices on conviction rate; others on the factors that create incentives for corrupt practices. Me, I will based mine on the leadership tone set above, because that is what drives and encompasses the urge to curb corruption. Statements made by the President on corruption are not encouraging and hence, I tend to score his administration poor on the fight against corruption. Aside that, if we take conviction rate as an indices you will find out that the EFCC is doing little or nothing and hence, the perception index is high (internally and externally). System controls - The president has said he does not intend to lock up people in jail for corruption but to fight corruption with system. On a honest note, I like this approach because there is also considerable cost savings from prosecuting corrupt offenders (this cost includes; logistics, paper filing, court prosecution, lawyers fees, the use of experts and their fees (forensic auditing); and other miscellaneous cost attached for just one conviction). As revealed, it cost the Britons a huge estimate of money to convict Ibori (I have forgotten the actual figure). So this approach saves cost. However, system controls can be overridden, especially but those who implemented it (for example, minister of finance, CBN, the president himself, other important aides e.t.c). Also, there may be one or more persons, with knowledge of the system, to collude and circumvent the operative effectiveness of the control system. Finally, system controls may fail. So like I said previously, an effective fight against corruption, which our eminent president, isn't doing includes and is not just limited to system controls as recommended by the president - - High leadership integrity and commitment on the fight on corruption - Effective Anti-corruption Act - Efficient and effective anti-corruption system controls - Whistle blowing programs and procedures - Effective law enforcement agencies to act as a deterrent - Blacklisting and incarcerating corrupt offenders; by maintaining a good comprehensive list of corrupt offenders and circularizing them regularly. Even with the above, there will still be droplets of corruption, however, the overall perception and actual corrupt practices will reduce drastically because the risk engaging in corruption will be outrageously higher than the benefit. Now based on the above, can you honestly admit that President Jonathan is fighting corruption? I intentionally left out the bad attributes of corruption in order not to make my response verbose and also note that I did not insult your person. Another free consultancy. Have a great day |

APC has accused Jonathan of loving and condling corruption. They said he is not tough on corruption. Now Jonathan has decided to go tough on corruption starting with them and their leaders and they are weeping.Cheer hypocrisy if you ask me
