Haba this Jonathan is truly clueless oh. Can't he see the how related this is to the outburst of Fr. Mbaka. I believe Patience gave the instruction. This is one dumb stuff. First rule, you never directly attack your loudest critics |
Rilwayn001:Exactly my thought. Boko Haram had never been any match for the military. |
atilla:Exactly. Lagos needs to come up with strict fire code. A filling station should not be in a residential estate. Look at that affected vehicles. I hope nobody was affected. Lagos cannot continue like this. |
AustineE1:Well if your comment is true, then I dove my hat for the APC. Only a brilliant group can pull this stunt. You cannot rule out the fact that the PDP is not interested in rigging the elections. On my way to work, I noticed huge presence of military personnel with armoured tanks and guns in Lekki toll gates. I wonder if we are at war. To me the winner of this election would be one who outsmarted the other and not the true reflection of the people of Nigeria. |
I only pray that this information is false. |
Forgive me but I do not see any point of relevance with your post rather than ethnic bias. |
That is christian purefoy. He doesn't work with CNN anymore. I think he works with a nigerian digital news group. I cannot remember the name but they were very active during the occupy nigeria period |
No wonder Jonathan was disturbing us in Lagos. He wants to get the 3 million votes. |
Nice acting. The fight looks very real. That's the way to act movies, make it real. |
JackBaueress:Is this the irritating Berem? What's with the moniker change before the election? |
cramjones:Oga she no want. She told you she is married would you let her be. What is the connection here? Please respect her decision. Such a disrespectful fellow. |
hamingra:Laughs. Well I share the same sentiments with you but I will not be biased. The president understood the questions asked. Though I am not satisfied with some of his responses. I observed him reading from a script too. Overall, he was better. Other candidates are just not serious |
Martins is just a critic like his predecessor. I listened to him. Yes he sounds passionate but he lacks knowledge and experience just like many of us. He may have integrity which is good and I only hope he performs if presented with the opportunity to serve the country. I was wondering why some presidential candidate do not bother campaigning seriously, now I understand. They use this medium to sell their C.V and prepare themselves for political appointments. ![]() |
Okay I am back. I have watched the debate. It has been uploaded by NTA on youtube. I will try to be unbiased. First, I am a huge critic of Jonathan (I still remain so) because I expect so much from him. I must also appreciate the organisers of the debate, it was well organised and I believed subsequently, it will form a bedrock to launch future presidential candidates. Though they forgot to ask about housing, transportation, foreign policy etc. Back to the debate, I am totally disappointed with the debaters. Many of them, if not all, lack knowledge on the current issues in the country. I must honestly admit that only President Jonathan understood the questions posed to him (please note that I bolded understood). The president was not the most vocal or eloquent, but he was able to first, explain what his administration was doing though, he in some instances, could not explain what further actions his administration would do if voted again. Martin Onovo (presidential candidate NCP), expressed himself uniquely and I begin to wonder why his party did not pursue a rigorous campaign strategy so that Nigeria can have a good breed of candidates to vote for. Though eloquent, he lacked in-depth knowledge on the issues afflicting the country as a result, his responses were based on ineffective leadership and corruption. On the other hand, I preferred his response on Education and Corruption. Both him and the president shared a similar concept on handling corruption. Even the president admitted the same. I disapprove his responses/suggestions on Petroleum, Agriculture, Security etc Perhaps because of his lack of knowledge he had to conclude that corruption was the problem for all these sectors and he disagrees with privatising the downstream oil sector. I laughed and said, this guy must be a joker. The president corrected him on that (i.e. explaining the basic components of the downstream oil sector and the need for privatising the sector). The other candidates to me were fulfilling all righteousness and not true contenders. Many indulged in criticising, including Martins Onovo, without offering solutions. Some were not confident about their ability (of course, they are hardly known) and possibly turned the debate to one of advice. Others, including Onovo, used it to remind Nigerians of their qualifications (home and abroad) and even the qualification of their fathers'. To conclude, the debate provided a platform for Nigerians to know the presidential candidates and what they would be offering. However, the quality of the candidates presented was poor. It is a shame that many, from their responses, have no manifesto on the basic issues in the country. Probably, they were moved by passion to contest, but passion alone cannot get you votes. Some relied on newspaper publications, which are readily available to the public, rather than set up committees to first, understand the problem and then offer solutions. Only the president truly understood the questions, though I observed him reading out from perhaps, a source/medium on his table but I will not presumed or assume if he was handed the questions before time. He was the only one engaging in this practice. Hence, my suggestion. Also, on the president, I was not comfortable with some of his responses. He spent time explaining what his administration had done, which to me is yet to be felt by the general public, than what he would do if elected again. The only positive response I enjoyed was that of Agriculture, where he mentioned that food prices did not go up despite falling oil prices (that is very true) and the need to move from groundnuts pyramid exportation to processing the groundnuts (good response from the president). Apart from this, I was not comfortable with the other responses/comments. Though the president was caught up by time and again because he spent time speaking on things his administration had done rather than things he would do. Before I conclude, I do not understand why Buhari (presidential candidate APC) failed to attend the debate. The same questions were asked to all participants. The umpires/organisers did not focus on personal issues or try to make a caricature of any participants. This behaviour of Buhari is discouraging. Buhari may have a point on the debate being biased or the president being provided with questions before the debate, that is a plausible possibility but requires evidence. However, it is not a strong excuse for him to absent himself, rather he should have prepared himself better and utilise the medium to convince Nigerians. At the moment, Buhari's behaviour is unacceptable and disrespectful. To conclude, it was good hearing from all the presidential candidates. Though I was not impressed with their comments and if I have to rate their performance, I would give it to President Goodluck Jonathan and that tells you a lot about the other candidates. Next, was Martin Onovo. Martins should stop being a critic and start to see himself as a problem solver, he must thoroughly understand Nigeria's problems and likewise, set up a good campaign team that would first, come up with the solutions and then promote his strategy further. I noticed he also earned the president's respect. That is a good sign. Congratulations and best wishes to them all. |
What is this nonsense about north and south? We are not satisfied with jonathan, it must not be buhari. There are other candidates |
I did not watch the debate. I would try to search youtube if it has been uploaded. As president, I would be expecting Jonathan to be more knowledgeable than all contestants and if its the otherwise, then Jonathan does not deserve a 2nd chance. We may as well vote for other candidates. It would be horrible to watch the president flinch on sensitive issues. Well I need to watch the debate so that I may not be biased and I also wonder why Buhari refused to attend, this is a platform to sell yourself. What questions would the umpire ask other than issues already circulating on social medias such as certificates, islamisation of the country, link with boko haram etc. I don't think his campaign organisers are doing him any good. |
The people around Jonathan are terrified and going about making Jonathan look like a dictator |
Well the ruling party is good at rigging. Always rigged its way to power and the more reason we have suffered so much. |
I wish to leave this classic hit by the great Sam Cooke to remind folks of March 28, 2015. A change from the oppression experienced from political elites, power mongers and big wigs. A change from corruption and bribery A change from insurgence, terrorism, criminality and insecurity A change from public service ineptitude, theft and money laundering A change meant for the masses because the voice of the people is the voice of GOD VOTE FOR CHANGE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbO2_077ixs |
Not a bad interview. I can see the president has gained some valuable experience. However, Mr president it is too late |
We have so many quacks as doctors in this country, even the good ones are negligent too. I can tell you this as FACT. We have forgotten about bad nurses with bad customer service. Our health care is terrible and I do not blame people who rush to the US to give birth. General hospitals are unhygienic and the doctors there, though some are good, care less about their patients but think about how much money they will make by going on regular strikes. The only hospital I can actually recommend for pregnant women is First Consultants and that is because I have witnessed the way they run the hospital. They are in Obalende. Actually that is the hospital that saved us from Ebola. If they have taken Patrick Sawyer to a quack hospital or General hospital, our story would have been different. They are also expensive too oh maybe because they have expatriates are gynaecologists. |
Naija we no dey like hear truth sha |
The printing is in view of a regional currency for ECOWAS. |
In my own opinion, the child did not write the letter but she did well to read it. Though fidgeting, you cannot help but admire her at her young age. I read in some other post that she made a mockery of the president, however I did not hear such. Anyways, kudos to APC, they have a way to throw punches but I don't like this approach. She is still a child and unaware of her actions |
LewisO:I have no doubt but the problem is would PDP allow the election to be free |
They have tried but cannot fault Buhari - #FACT |
Pennywise:A nice one. I had a good laugh. I must confess that I admire APC campaign team. Truly they think and make the ordinary look extra ordinary. I just hope if they win, we won't regret having them. Comparing it with PDP dollarization campaign a.k.a share the money, you see an insincere administration bent of sending the masses to early grave through poverty. |
She is better and cuter first last than mama peace and her Gbagun speeches. Government must be a terrible place filled with sycophant who will never tell you the truth. |
Hmm nigerians I hail. How do you compare 22 months with over 60 months administration. A period of paucity and that of prosperity. PDP has failed us. We need to try other parties. It is quite unfortunate we do not have any other popular candidates running. |
Is that a university or primary school? |
politricks:Don't you know he is the mole in Jonathan's campaign. Jonathan actually made a mess appointing him as campaign media organiser. Ask yourself, what comments or press releases has he made that has actually improved Jonathan's ratings. |
