Politics › Re: The Problem With Nigeria Is Mismanagement-obasanjo by Boss13: 3:36pm On Mar 06, 2015
Obasanjo still remains the best president Nigeria has ever had since 1960. Prove me wrong by mentioning who was or is better than him. Yes, he should have done more, quite unfortunately, he did not. Like they say, time is precious and waits for no one.

For the record, Obasanjo was responsible for the economic boom of 2003 and who would forget the telecommunication and banking economic revolution and likewise, the internet we are chatting and browsing with.

Obasanjo also commenced the Agricultural revolution. What about Pension reform policy, Health Insurance Scheme, Monetization and Privatisation programme. EFCC and ICPC anti-corruption programme and Paris Club Debt relief and external reserves was $43 billion to mention a few. Finally, our GDP had a record high of 7.9% yet to be beaten. This was not paper/statistics GDP oh.

Pheww - I guess as Nigerians we either have amnesia or we just criticise for the sake of it. But if we must criticize, be fair about it.

I repeat, Obasanjo remains the best president Nigeria has ever had.

Gawd see how they are turning Nigeria into a laughing stock. That statement is a statement of a president who is tired of the lies being fed to the Nigerian public. He has sized up our president and his response/statement tells you how he assesses our president.

Jonathan, everything is not about politics and elections.
Politics › Re: Late Gen. Bamidele's Last Words Before Buhari Killed Him. by Boss13: 4:45pm On Mar 05, 2015
Nigerians should learn to ask the right questions. Some powerful Nigerian elites do not want Buhari to become president, including Babaginda. I also feel Buhari has scores to settle if he wins the elections, well he also gave indications in his Chatham speech. I noticed this from the attempted kidnap of Umaru Dikko.

Buhari may not improve our economic situation but he will surely reduce corruption and scare power mongers loitering around Aso rock. I am cautious of Buhari because his administration may lead to a coup except he has learnt from his previous mistakes. However, without mincing words, Nigeria truly needs someone like Buhari now in the brink of economic woos.

"I heard of the 1983 coup planning, told my GOC General Buhari
who detained me for two weeks in Lagos. Instead of a pat on the
back, I received a stab. How then do you expect me to report this
one? This trial marks the eclipse of my brilliant and unblemised
career of 19 years. I fought in the civil war with the ability it
pleased God to give me. It is unfortunate that I'm being convicted
for something which I have had to stop on two occasions. This is
not self adulation but a sincere summary of the qualities inherent in
me. It is an irony of fate that the president of the tribunal who in
1964 felt that I was good enough to take training in the UK is now
saddled with the duty of showing me the exit from the force and the
world"

Source: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muhammadu_Buhari
OP YOU ARE A LIAR. Why would people twist things in order to deceive the public and also why do Nigerians not take time to investigate information given to them.

The statement above was made by Major Daniel Bamidele during the Special Military Tribunal (SMT) set up by General Ibrahim Babaginda on the Vasta speculated military coup (Dec 1985) that was not even carried out. Major Bamidele was referring to the Shagari coup of January 1st 1984 where he reported to Major General Buhari (his G.O.C - 3rd Armoured Division Jos) about an intended coup plan and he was arrested by Buhari till after the coup in order to ensure that Major Bamidele do not foil the coup. Funny enough, the Nigeria public is not aware that Babaginda actually orchestrated the 1984 Coup and because Major. General Buhari was the most senior he was asked to head the Supreme Military Council.

However, please note that Major General Buhari played a vital role in the Jan 1984 coup and also had a score to settle with Usman Dikko, who was minister of transport and a brother-in-law to President Shagari. Dikko gave orders to unknown men to monitor Buhari's movements after Buhari flaunted a presidential order to retreat from chasing the Chadian rebels.

Major Bamidele was executed alongside Major General Mamman Vatsa (a childhood friend to General Babaginda and Babaginda was his bestman).

Politics › Re: BREAKING: Jonathan, IBB, Abdusalam, Tinubu Plot Interim Government by Boss13: 12:39pm On Mar 04, 2015
I read this news yesterday and felt pained and I asked myself what do we really want in this country. Since the creation of Nigeria, two economies have been in existence - one for the elites and the other for the masses. Some people in the masses economy who luckily escaped the entrapment into the elites economy suddenly develop amnesia about their past and continue to disenfranchise the masses.

The elites continue to formulate policies for their personal benefits and suppress policies that can uplift more people from the masses economy into the elites economy. Once again, from this write-up, we can see that they are planning on their future and how to stiffen plans to make the masses great. According to them, that should never be the plan.

However, here we are - the masses; fighting, struggling and insulting each other along ethnicity and religious tension lines created by these wicked elites as a plan to distort the true essence of the strength of the masses. Each time, they discover that the consciousness of the masses is waking up from its deep slumber, they manipulate things to put it back to sleep in order to safeguard their selfish interests.

Now, I ask you this question - what do you truly want; power to the masses or power to the elites? This is not a political comment but a citizenry plea that we must not allow a few greedy, wicked and selfish men determine our future for us and that of our children.

I'm of the opinion that the party refrains from officially responding to FFK's and Fayose's rants. They get encouraged to blab some more when they are given the impression that someone is paying attention.

I prefer they be TOTALLY ignored, just as I do some scoundrels in here.
Sometimes silence connotes acceptances. I think APC should recruit an antidote for FFK, someone of similar and vicious character.

NIGERIANS THE 451mw SAPELE POWER PLANT is FINALLY WORKING UNDER President Goodluck Jonathan!

This vital project that was built in the 1970s and abandoned, was REVIVED by our INDUSTRIOUS PRESIDENT!

President Goodluck Jonathan established an effective plan of renovating ALL of our power plants in order to work towards KEEPING POWER STABLE in NIGERIA!

It is one of TEN NEW POWER PLANTS under OUR PRESIDENT’s National Integrated Power Plants (NIPP) project! Before President Jonathans program, there was a generation capacity of ONLY 2,500 MW. NOW, the generation capacity is OVER 4,400MW!

General Buhari even said so HIMSELF this morning to members of the Organised Private Sector at the Lagos State Government House, Marina, in Lagos that PRESIDENT JONATHAN IS TAKING THE RIGHT STEPS BY PRIVATIZING POWER!

Nigerians, it is ALMOST time to determine the outcome of this our great nation! At the February 14TH Polls, remember that #PGEJ has ALREADY started the transformation. It is up to US to allow him to CONTINUE!

VOTE WISELY, VOTE FOR PRESIDENT GOODLUCK JONATHAN!
All these power plants and I am still running generator in my house with fuel bought from black market. Kai God I tire. God just get us a good president other than Jonathan

It continues to show how useless the party is. Funny enough you would be shocked to find out that Ministry of Finance has not paid Independent Oil Marketers that it why they have not imported fuel.

Exactly. He would have complained to the manager or the owner. Why social media and for what purpose. I think it's so immatured of him. He is/was a customer with a complaints and they have asked him to forward his complaints to their complaints medium.

Well if he is dissatisfied, he should go somewhere else.

The topic both posters above me are trying to discuss is very sensitive to a lot of people. Yes it is verifiable facts that Jesus is more than what the Christians folks protray him to be and that a lot of his history was dabbled on for personal and selfish reasons but regardless of that - Jesus still remains the greatest teacher that walked on this earth surface. One with the highest level of spiritual consciousness

I am very passionate about this issue and I think society is doing injustice to the 21st century man. We all need to be very cleared on this and regardless of who is being affected.

The same effort being made to chastised men from hitting women should be used to inform women to stop assaulting men. It is a dual effect, action and reaction. The verbal assault received from women is the same as the physical assault men melt down on women.

Women should to treat their men right just like they expect their men to do the same. No insanity should be accepted.

I was moved with tears of joy when I saw our gallant soldiers in high spirit after recapturing territories from boko haram.
It amuse me and worrisome to note that wat GEJ and is government couldn't achieved in years is been achieved within weeks.
this brings to the fact that GEJ and his administration intensionally refused to fight boko haram leaving over 13,000 lives perished and abt 5000 people kidnapped.
GEJ is simply wicked and callous and does not deserve another term of blood shed
Nothing but wickedness. Our military were always capable but not motivated. Our government allowed a bunch of miscreant to be popular.
Politics › Re: The Chatham House Effects by Boss13: 1:02pm On Feb 27, 2015
Good points raised. I still wonder why Buhari refused to honour national debates but I also understand his concerns. Our media is very bias and can swing to the highest bidder. I also think the Chatham speech was not just for foreigners, he also spoke to Nigerians.

To me - in the bad lots of rotten eggs, Buhari is a better rotten egg. He has told us what he stands for. Anti-corruption, integrity and transparency. Now the society will judge him based on that.

My other concern is Jonathan - we seem not to understand him and his piecemeal projects. I am also afraid that if he wins we will continue to witness a huge disparity between the real nigeria and the nigeria on newspaper.
