[quote author=Collynzo419 post=30430531]GEJ is corruption personified. Nigerians have to stop this man before the country totally becomes bankrupt and insolvent.

Soludo is raising key questions here and also exposing FG corruption at an industrial scale.

Instead of NOI to respond accordingly, she is shying away from the issues. The PDP is putting the middle finger up and telling Soludo - na your papa money?

FEBUHARI on our mind...

Ngozi where is our money?[/quote

I think Nigerians have keep quiet for too long. Even in other african countries, protest would have rocked the street. What sort of nonsense is this. Are we now fools? She has to account properly and show us where all these monies went to.

Soludo what is wrong with you? I have been waiting eagerly for part 2 and 3 of your essay. You have to complete the series. Nigerians deserve to know. However, it seems you have pocketed NOI as she no longer intend to join issues with you for the fear of you unleashing sensitive, personal and career damaging details to the entire world. The woman has been performing voodoo economics on us.

I truly feel unhappy where men confers powers to other men on the claims of divinity/miracles over issues that can be resolved medically. I will advise strongly to couples who are worried about not having kids to quickly consult fertility hospitals. We have a handful on them in Lagos now and these specialists are always on radio stations giving simple advises to couples who probably have lost hope.

Please if your partner has low sperm count, prayers cannot solve that but drugs can. If your partner has a disease, prayers cannot solve that but drugs can. Do the wise thing.

I have always had contrary opinions to our military strategies in curbing Boko Haram. Many times we hear Boko Haram attacking cities and probably being resisted by the military or the cities are captured and controlled. To me, it seems the military is not taking the fight to them, probably waiting for Boko Haram to attack. It is good that the military is now taking the fight to them and catching them in unease situation. That should be the case and not what we have been experiencing in the past.

We have never had it good, it is only since the advent of our current political dispensation that we are gradually taking the necessary structural steps to initiate, introduce, correct some of the impediments in the economy.
Brilliant. We have always been in recession. Just that at some points we were at an upward recession spiral, now we seem to be going downward rather than approaching or closing the gaps to the boom spiral

I doubt if you were Out of secondary school then but if not for recapitalisation by soludo, banks were like micro finance in those days. They open for 2 years steal people's money and fold up. 2 he just mentioned that during his tenure inflation was single digit and yet you ask what he achieved? Were you expecting him to tar roads or build hospitals?
That is the only way many nigerians see development - tarring or repairing roads. You won't blame them, the politicians sing about road repairs as part of their electoral promises.

Unfortunately, under Jonathan, politicians will not just let Ngozi perform unlike during the Obasanjo era where she was fully protected and given a free hand. Jona is so lily-livered!

Like Pat Utomi said, technocrats have to learn how to resign if they are not making any headway in that government. The resignation itself could trigger a lot of desired changes in the way the government is run. Malaysia is a good example here.

We must offer Nigerians clarity on the choices before them. Can I propose a three-way debate with you (representing PDP/Federal Government), nominee of APC (Utomi or Fayemi? or any other), and myself (as independent citizen— I don’t belong to any of the two). Let us have two bouts of debate between now and 12th February, 2015 focusing on: CBN/AMCON and the financial system (if you want); our economy and its outlook, and agenda/alternative paths to sustainable prosperity post elections. Choose the dates and times, and for the sake of Nigeria, I will fly in. You can invite any of your international media friends as moderators.

He learnt a lesson he could not have learnt any other way. All the money he made as CBN governor, salaries , bonuses etc was wasted in that election.

So now, he has to work all his life again to earn a living.
Now he is back dabbling into politics, being used as a tool.
Criticising NOI when even CNN has confirmed Nigeria's economy to be on the rise much better than whatever he did.
CNN has been confirming that our economy will rise since 1960. It is only a theory till it is actually done

Soludo was brilliant. Sanusi was also good. Huge funds may lead to massive mismanagement so you need risk management to manage the risk and that was what Sanusi did. Soludo envisioned and implemented a beautiful idea. They are both very good.

Soludo is a disgusting, two-faced idiot. Most of the so-called achievements he reeled out and credited to the OBJ administration (including the debt repayment) were recorded under this same woman he is accusing of incompetence today. Was NOI not the Minister of Finance and the head of the economic team under OBJ? Apart from deliberately refusing to credit her for the achievements during that time, what has changed in the woman between then and now?
I don't think you read Soludo's write up. Please do. We do not read or take time to read in this country. Before you take sides, do your homework.

Soludo was a blessing to nigerian economy and he is still a blessing. 57,000 banking jobs were created from his consolidation policy. Please go and read.

Very poor of him.
How? Please don't get me worked up. People are busy ripping this country apart. Secluding the public from the nations wealth. Soludo is doing the maths. Why are nigerians not yet rich enough? Simple answers, some fools are stealing the money, others are mismanaging it and concessions are being given without recourse. This is not the first time this Harvard deluded woman has been attacked on mismanagement. We have seen no considerable economic change, rather what we get are economic declines.

The criticism against this Administration (not just the Minister) was a destructive one. It shouldn't have come from a Professor who is very much informed than the ordinary Nigerian.
What will the ordinary Nigerian say? I believe the criticism is just and equitable given the present situation of the economy. Our finance minister cannot tell us all is well and we look around, nothing is actually well. What has she done about unemployment since she was appointed. Is it not a shame. I told her on twitter that she should have ignore Soludo.

Soludo asked basic questions drawing references from publicly available statistics. She went ahead to criticise his person, comparing him to a failure. Is she not also a failure? Has she delivered on the economic promises the administration promised. It is also very funny that they were once colleagues and probably PDP members. Sanusi also criticised and he was also insulted.

We definitely tolerate rubbish Nigerians, we tolerate rubbish

My dear

Sanusi was a disaster

Soludo did well even though he failed to thoroughly supervise the banks because he thought they will do the right things without supervision

Okonjo is trying even though her efforts are not felt due to the large scale of the problem. cool
I disagree with you. Sanusi came up with a robust risk management system and good corporate governance. He introduced 10 years tenure for all MD's so that MD's have a succession plan and without Key Man Risk issues. What benefit will the recapitalisation programme bring when Bank CEO's are eating shareholders funds and even depositors funds. Both were exceptional governors. Now lets see what Emefiele will do with foreign exchange issues we are currently faced with.

atlwireles:
Soludo was a visionary man, he was able to see and help construct the big picture for the Nigerian banking sector. Soludo treated the markets and banks like Greenspan. Believing bank executives would never do anything to undermine their shareholders and institutions. That was his mistake. I will and cannot put SLS above Soludo, that would be a crime against humanity. Sanusi caused more damage with his approach, shouting fire in a market place and totally destroying the confidence of the average Nigerian in the financial sector. We are still living with many of SLS collateral damages.

That being said, Soludo messed up big time, with his article. When you challenge people's credibility, make sure the facts are on your side. Numbers like the poverty percentage from 2010, was just too easy to expose as fraud. Nevertheless, he has added to the public debate and some Nigerians have learnt something new about their country.

GEJ till 2019.
God bless you. However, I disagree that SLS did more damage. If Banks CEOs were not selfish, there will be no need for a rigorous risk management system implemented by SLS. There will also be no need for Bank's going under and likewise no need for massive job loss.

Soludo envisaged a system that will not be corrupt and greedy. It is a good policy to ensure that Banks can properly finance projects and not engage in round-tripping to make profit (because that was what Banks were doing then). Sanusi came up with a robust risk management system. Both CBN governors are very intelligent and well grounded professionals and as you can see both are critical about the way our economy is going. However, our darling Havard trained Minister of Finance, rather than take positive criticism goes on an image laundry scheme and white wash projects that people cannot see.

It is only Jonathan's administration that one can neither see what the government is doing but the government is screaming that it is doing something. I just wonder.
Politics › Re: My Goal Is To Ensure ‘no Nigerian Is Hungry’—jonathan by Boss13: 6:36pm On Jan 26, 2015
vanen2:
President Goodluck Jonathan has assured Nigerians that his administration is determined to reduce hunger and poverty in the country.
“As President, my goal is to work hard so that no citizen is hungry. We are making progress in eliminating hunger. The report from GHI corroborates our own records which show that our food import bill has reduced from 1.1 Trillion Naira in 2009 to 634 Billion Naira in 2014 and falling,” he said.
The president said he is impressed with the statistics from the International Food Policy Research Institute which shows that the country is making progress on the annual Global Hunger Index. He noted that his administration has been able to reduce hunger by cutting out the middle men and empowering 14 million Nigerian farmers (of which 2 million are women) with fertilizers directly.
“We are not only reducing hunger in our nation, we are also reducing our dependence on foreign nations for our food security while at the same time creating wealth at the grass roots of Nigeria,” he added.
The president made the disclosure on his verified facebook account, Goodluck Jonathan. It will be recalled that he also shared some of his achievements with his friends on the social media, with a promise to keep them with up to date account of his stewardship in the last four years.
His political party, the People Democratic Party, PDP, via its official twitter handle, @PdpNigeria, is also promoting the achievements of the president. The party is sharing wit its 31, 000 followers what the president has achieved across the states, especially in meeting the Millennium Developmental Goals (MDGs).
In a related development his Special Assistant on New Media, Reno Omkri, took to twitter to share a photo of the 10 lane Abuja Highway completed by Jonathan administration. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/01/goal-ensure-no-nigerian-hungry-jonathan/
