The way our leaders play with words is terrible. Does the president actually mean water distribution or private access to water. Does this 70 percent includes private boreholes? |
We really do not understand the great disservice we do to this country over baseless arguments and fighting. We should be asking serious questions and demanding to know the plans of each presidential candidates. I'm my opinion, the president has failed and he doesn't deserve to be re-elected. Now if other candidates appear to be suspicious, we need to ask stern questions. The president might go ahead to win the elections, but his attitude of dividing this country is not good. He is the president of nigeria and not the president of the south-south or south-east |
The OP has made some valid statement and assumptions. He agrees that our beloved president is clueless and has made clueless statements in the past. Hence there is little argument on this part as I agree that not only the president is clueless, he is also surrounded by clueless aides and advisers. I wish to debunk the OP's statement of nigeria producing cars - we are yet to produce cars. The only car assembly companies I can beat my chest for are Innoson and PAN based on my investigation. Our economy has not improved any better under Jonathan. Our foreign reserves has depleted. Our excess crude account has been tampered with. The gdp rebased is a cumulative statistics tool on how our gdp should be. At the moment, we should even prepare for the worst due to falling oil prices. The standard of living for the average Nigerian, apart from Jonathan's friends, is yet to improve. Corruption - I don't need to talk much. We know our president is corruption personalized. Security - the shocking issue here is that I don't know why the president isn't interested in curbing the insurgents in the north, which is very possible to do. Is the insurgency in the north actually serving the president's purpose. Power - after the privatization of phcn, what is the positive news again - NOTHING. These institutions, which actually retained the old staff of phcn, still operates the same way. Nothing good is yet to be seen. This president continues to promote disunity amongst the Nigerian populace. The president's conduct jeopardizes our safety and security |
Truth be told Jonathan is dividing this country between religious and ethnicity lines. This is not good for the unity of this country and also shows how unpresidential Jonathan is. This election should be issued based and not religion or ethnicity based. Because the president knows he has failed to deliver the dividends of democracy, he decided to gather dusts on sensitive issues that has brought war to this country in the past. I do not appreciate his antics in any way as it jeopardizes the safety of Nigeria citizens. The man should grow up. |
Jonathan is surrounded by terrible advisers. He seems to be a religious man, however some wicked advisers have capitalized on it and now the president is on a church prostitution mission. Jonathan is a Christian and not a Christian president. He is the president of Nigeria and not an ijaw president. |
I wonder how Ebola left Africa to Iraq. There is something they are not telling us |
I think it is embarrassing that the president is in the PROCESS of setting up a PLAN (I capitalised those words on purpose) for fighting corruption. This obviously means a lot. First, there is no plan and the Jonathan-led administration had never considered having an anti-corruption plan for 6 years in office. Second, the plan is still a working process and I believe it is yet to be drafted out before even being implemented. The president's confession has addressed our allegations of him neither having the impetus nor the will to fight corruption. This attitude of the president has translated to the huge corrupt cases (yet to be investigated or trial) emanating from his administration. If the president is considering strengthen institutions, he is yet to mention which institution he intends to strengthen. If the president, by his approach, intends to shy away from arresting and parading corrupt persons on national television then I wonder what anti-corruption plan, which is still under consideration, he wants to implement. However, if the president intends to put in effective controls to ensure that it becomes very difficult to steal money, then that is a welcome idea. Notwithstanding, the president MUST know that apart from preventing corruption from happening, a good deterrent plan (which includes arresting and shaming corrupt officials) is necessary to reduce corruption in the country. On a final note, I wonder what plan the president is coming up with that includes strengthen institutions and excludes arresting corrupt persons and how effective that plan will fight against corruption. |

If only the world can stop the nonsense of My religion is better than yours, this world will be a better place. |
Buhari should be president for a lot of reasons. First, to let the political class be aware than power actually belongs to the people and when an elected person under-performs as promised, he will be voted out. Second, to reduce corruption. |
iyatrustee:They should tell their wards not to resume to school. Let the teachers educate empty classes and blackboards |
This is a useless and wicked scheme from yet a wicked and clueless administration. They have always been passed the buck to the populace. Basic education (Primary and Secondary) is free in many countries even in Africa countries. We have the reverse in this country and the quality of education is next to rubbish. How do you encourage young poor girls in rural villages in the north to go to school whose parents cannot afford this N5000 to protect their children or care less about the education of their female children. Education is a powerful tool and is used to bridge the gap between the poor and the rich. This administration continues to roll out policies to widen the gap between the poor and the rich rather than close it up. A good government should be developing educational schemes that is accessible to all and making education free, not adding extra cost to an already bad educational system. Wicked GEJ |
why take a picture of your house from the fence outside when you have 100 percent access to the house (thinking aloud) |
manmade:Trust me not all lawyers know what to do |
You can either get your lawyer to write a petition to the inspector general of police indicting the state commissioner of complicity and insisting on bribe. Don't forget to include the divisional police officer too. The police should be then ones going to the witnesses and not you bringing witnesses to the police station. Your lawyers can take the matter further by publishing the petition in newspapers. When your dad finally gets outs and surely he will if you do this. She the Nigerian police for injustice, include the inspector general of police, the state commissioner of police, the divisional police officer and the people you gave bribe to. However, I must ask you to have documentary evidence that you have given out bribes to the police and also if your dad's co-worker was the one who committed the crime, he should be arrested |
lolababe331e:You said it better. What is a pharmacist going to provide even though he owns a company. What changes has he made in his own circle of influence? |
OrlandoOwoh:Please explain better to these guys. The nonsense I read here is amazing |
I don't care about Buhari and what he stands for but why will any sensible person vote for Jonathan and his continuity of uselessness. Please travel out even if it is Togo I will advise you to. That is the only way you will appreciate the beauty of good governance and what the basic amenities, which we laud our wicked and foolish leaders for, actually are. I just don't get it when someone in his right senses begins to tell me Jonathan is working, because he is bringing back the trains - Jesus. What is he suppose to do before? Because we have been in darkness for so long, a little glimpse of light now appears like fireworks. We have a president who will continue to increase the poverty gap, enrich himself and his friends and deny the average nigerian a fair chance in life and also the basic amenities, such as quality education, good healthcare, power, security etc that will make such Nigerian to thrive and achieve his dreams and a sensible person or someone who is human wants to continue promoting such president. |
whiterock:You are a foolish man and an annoying read; notwithstanding adding empty skull to your list of negative personality just like the president. We have documentary evidence supported with physical proof of how corrupt this present administration is and idle minded the president is about corruption and here you are, in clear foolishness and stupidity, bringing up an unrelated issue of the past. You should be killed or jailed if you are human and if you are not you should be eaten like grains because you are worst than the perpetrators. For you to see a crime and ignore or support it, is more wicked than perpetrating the crime. |
phantonce:Liar. A Hyundai cost from 4.5 million |
When you leave the shores of his country, you begin to shake your head when a presidential candidate promises you things that a mayor or councillor has accomplished in another country Our leaders are a huge disgrace |
clemzo101:She should quit her membership with that church. It is just so embarrassing |
Counselling should be private and information obtained should not be divulged. It is wrong, whether pastor calls the name or not, to divulge such information. If your pastor do so, then he is not a good counsellor |
Whether she tries to paint a different story in order not to create chaos, we know that the Nigerian economy is not doing well. The indicators are out in the open. On the other hand, why is nnpc not rendering accounts on its returns. I shake my head in pains the way the government and we, the citizens run this country. It is a shame. What do we gain, if the country burns or made uncomfortable? We have no other home but nigeria. Why can't we make it good for us and our children? |
What a shame. If your papers are not complete, go back home, why remain illegally in a strange country where you are not a resident. If you want to extend your stay, come back home and try doing so. We, nigerians, must stop giving our country a bad name. It is unfair to other responsible Nigerian citizens who may have good reasons to visit those countries. I am currently in Mauritius enjoying the Xmas holidays. It is a beautiful island with diverse group of people, culture and religion. The good thing is that they really don't know nigeria so much as a country. Those who know, probably encountered Nigerians who came on vacations and left a good impression. Many of the locals think we are South Africans or Kenyans. They even complained South Africans give them little problems. I am so happy telling them I'm a Nigerian without a negative feedback. They are so inquisitive to know our country and when I tell them we have crude oil, they scream like "nigeria must be a rich place". We have also met some Nigerians here too (students on exchange programme). Overall, I think it is my responsibility to play my part as a responsible citizen and ambassador to my country and ensure that other Nigerians coming here in the future enjoy themselves and get to hear positive things about Nigerians like I have. Let's us all be responsible citizens and ambassadors. |
Nmeri17:I don't believe this. |
obeski13:Then don't make such promises. A strong opposition must know how much revenue the government is making and if they don't know then they don't understand themselves. What the professor has said makes me skeptical. Pay youth corper stipends during the period of unemployment, while don't you give them the same vocational training during youth services. Increase their stipends so that youth corpers can save and those with entrepreneur skills go into business. Why should it be after youth service? |
In terms of making good-decisive economic policies, I would not trust Buhari. However, the corruption index will reduce, institutions will be strengthened. Public theft maybe a thing in the past. I also have reservations with some APC members e.g tinubu. APC as a party should stand for some basic principles and not just an individual. To me I feel APC's aim is to take power away from PDP and perpetrate the same thing PDP has been doing. We have not seen any manifesto from the party. We do not know or understand their objectives and mission statement. In my opinion, APC is not yet a strong opposition as imagined, they are only capitalizing on the weakness, poor policy implementations and corrupt practices of the president |
major466:What is the stooge? There is absolutely nothing wrong obtaining advisory services especially from someone with vast experience. Obasanjo is bitter because he fought and rigged elections for continuity of the various policy framework in place. He fought hard because he knew the opposition may abandon these policies for a witch hunting programme. However, rather than the continuity programme, yaradua/Jonathan (who are party members) commenced a reversal programme. Why won't Obasanjo be bitter |
Josegun:He is like Jonathan. Hijacked by sycophants |
marycoolrose:No. It means making the market better for operators |
Can these men stop these nonsense. It is getting out of hand. I cannot believe this man at his old age would be meddling in such behavior |
