courage54:I cannot like your comment any better. You wrote well. It is an election to get Jonathan out of power because he has failed the people. If Buhari fails, come 2019 we shall organise an election to also kick him out. Power must return to the people and not the politicians. |
kaecy5:LIAR. Probably the CNN you are watching is the one with broadcast station in Bayelsa. The CNN correspondents even escorts soldiers to war. |
Eziachi:The president has no excuse. I cannot critic his genuineness but he arrived late. The damage has already been done. |
Obasanjo is extra relevant. Outside the shores of this country, Obasanjo is extremely respected. The political class is fully aware of this. |
The army is disorganized lets call a spade a spade. It epitomize the way nigeria is - a disorganized country |
If those guys wanted to kidnap your sister, they don't need the bike man to stop. |
Abeokuta Meeting: 5 Questions Obasanjo Asked Jonathan By Edegbe Odemwingie — Jan 15, 2015 | 19 Comments The reconciliatory visit of President Goodluck Jonathan was a tensed one as former president, Olusegun Obasanjo put him on the hot seat in his Hilltop residence in Abeokuta on Monday, Leadership exclusively gathered. Flanked by the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye and the founder of Living Faith Church, Bishop David Oyedepo, who were there as witnesses to the meeting on request of the Egba chief, asked him questions which he had earlier thrown up in his correspondence to Jonathan. Questions from Obasanjo mother of all meetings with Jonathan include the five highlighted below. The former president asked him to confirm if he did not agree to only run for one term, his slow action to tackling the Boko Haram menace when it was just budding despite warning, why he gave licence to Tompolo and Asari Dokubo to import arms under the names of their private companies and other issues. He queried, “Tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, (1) Did you agree to run for only one term or not? (2) What did you tell me was your reason for not going after Boko Haram insurgents even when I told you this will boomerang? (3) What happened to Nigeria’s external reserve and Sovereign Wealth Fund? (4) Did you give licence to Niger Delta militants (Dokubo and Tompolo) to import arms in the name of their privately owned companies? If so, for what reason? (5) Did you not get correspondence from the United States consulate that a certain citizen named Buruji Kashamu is indicted for drug trafficking? Why did you appoint the same Kashamu as South West leader of PDP rather than hand him over to the US? And did the PDP give automatic Senate ticket to a wanted and convicted drug baron? http://leadership.ng/news/402004/abeokuta-meeting-5-questions-obasanjo-asked-jonathan |
Sad sad sad |
In as much as I commiserate with France over the death of its citizen by trigger loving terrorists, I also find the gathering of world leaders hypocritical; Nigeria, Kenya, Syria etc have been afflicted and scourged by terrorists yet we see no world protest nor world leaders coming together to stamp out terrorists. |
9jagirl4ree:I disagree with you on this. He has no grasp of the country. It seems the country is being administered by different groups and him being a figure head. To me he acts the same role as the queen of England, ceremonial head of state |
It is the job of the police to curb violence and arrest perpetrators. We cannot continue to accept violence during election as a norm. It is unacceptable. |
atlwireles:I am no boko haram but a concerned citizen who is sad at the alarming rate at which innocent people are being murdered in the country and if you are not concerned then you are a monster |
atlwireles:You are an insensitive monster |
atlwireles:Please mister, the lives of our brothers in the north are important. Lets avoid insensitive comments. If boko haram exterminate them all, don't you think the people in the south will be next. These men have tasted blood and they will always want more. I cannot fathom the pains, anguish and fear in the minds of those in the north. They can neither sleep nor carry on peacefully with their lives. Who will protect them now since our focus now is February 14th. God save our brothers in the north. |
Let's be honest in a civilized country, the incumbent president would have tendered his resignation for the incessant attacks and murder of poor innocent civilians. Let's give the president the benefit of doubt to exercise his constitutional rights. However, how will he convince the north that they will be protected, what will he tell the displaced people and those who have lost loved ones and continue to lose loved ones in Yobe, Borno and Maiduguri. It is high time political leaders took their mandate very seriously. If the fail to deliver, they should be voted out. Let power return to the people. |
Queen did what a civilized person would do - go to court when you feel your rights or interests has been breached or infringed upon. Cynthia did what a bush person would do - go to social media to rant (with bad English inclusive). Let the court decide whether there is an infringement on queen's copyright. I would have expected the management of Cynthia meeting with Queen for discussion on how to resolve the issue. |
There is problem with the president's campaign. I find it hilarious that Orji (Abia State Governor) is saddled with the responsibility of convincing the south-east electorate to vote for GEJ. Why didn't GEJ give it to Enugu governor, maybe that was why he did not attend the campaign inauguration. |
These media propagandist should not try this with Mbaka. The man is equally mad like them. His response would be more nasty |
The president failed to unite his party and put his house in order. He has previously been involved in anti-party campaign in the past and also created an uproar with the Governors' Forum, which eventually led to some PDP governors (especially Northern Governors) to decamp to APC. His aides continues to make utterances on divisibility and sectional politics without any caution from the president. The president, purportedly, continues in the light of being perceived as a christian president for the christians alone in a secular country and chooses to talk to Nigerians from pulpits of churches, a practice that will be decried by Nigerians of christian inclination if a president continues of mecca pilgrimages and talk to Nigerian via moslem fora. This president, who have actually said "If Nigeria wants to divide let it divide", is one only interested in his interest rather than national interest and continues to perceive social critics, passionate Nigerians and well-meaning Nigerians who opposes his demeanour, policies or utterances as enemies. A president who chooses to dance, wine and campaign while citizens and residents mourns. A president that has rendered our foreign policy useless and continues to make Nigeria irrelevant in Africa and Global affairs. God forbid, in the event of war, this president neither has the clout nor persona to either protect us or convince the Nigerian military to march to victory. We are in grave danger to have this man, Jonathan Ebele Goodluck continue as our president. |
phoenix480:Where is the manifesto? |
I remember jonathan kneeling down in adeboye's church. Politics is surely a dirty game |
Our soldiers are poorly equipped, under motivated and its leadership is highly compromised. Henry, stop posting pictures of armies from other African countries |
Though I don't want jonathan to win, due to his mismanagement and clueless, however, he is going to win the 2015 elections. |
Ehen this is what we need to debate on and not certificate. I don't think this is feasible and sustainable. Where will the money come from? |
There is nothing new in what Obasanjo has said. Even if we cannot verify these statements, the state of the economy can actually tell us if we are moving forward or we have gone backward, even though the trains are back. |
What I do not understand is how come the mentality of the nigerian youth degraded so low that propagandas issued by the nigerian press will be debated without verifiable facts. Questions like - where is APC manifesto and what does the manifesto say should be asked and debated on and also compared with that of PDP's manifesto. Rather we have adults feeling good about themselves on someone's certificate (smh). The same person that would go ahead to contest election. If it is the certificate you are so interested, go to the institutions he attended and request for them. It is a shame that in less than 4 weeks to the election, we are yet to see both the manifestos of PDP and APC - nobody is requesting for that as important as it is, yet we are screaming and requesting for certificate. A political party is shouting change - change for/to what, another is screaming continuity; what kind of continuity. None of the candidate have come forth is explain their mandate (if they truly understand) and tell Nigerians what they intend to do. Rather than we request them to explain, we dey insult ourselves for certificate. God deliver nigeria |
I think we are getting tired with this Sharia and "Buhari Show me your certificate" nonsense. These propagandas only makes the man more popular. I would advise that arguments should be issue based. |
Eromsboy:You guys (Journalists) are creating problems for this country. I read this story and wonder why would a newspaper go ahead to print this kind of news. The Nigerian populace would read this and believe every single word. You and your colleagues have created more damage to Nigeria than serve as a conscience for the nation. |
Rep042:It is good to see your response because I was thinking your story was fabricated. If your story is anything but true, it is very painful especially with her choice of words and emasculating you in front of our family. She has failed as a wife even though you have your short-comings. I will still advise against divorce, give her the silent treatment and in this period do some contemplation. Approach her for reconciliation and if she is still adamant, call for a family reconciliation meeting but I don't know if this would help if she doesn't realised her issues or want reconciliation. However, you must exercise all peaceful medium before any separation. We probably do not know how you feel but it must be hard for you. Pray, contemplate and hold strong. PS - don't fight or struggle with your wife again in the future, it reduces you. |
The money he was promised is yet to hit the account and after so much phone calls and no response. The backlash was necessary. |
stanogb:I swear. I stay in Lekki Lagos and for the past one year, my 4 power generating plants have provided me with power more constantly than the one promised by president Jonathan and his minister of power |
