Tamarapetty:There is nothing cute about it. This is attention seeking that’s not worth anybody’s time. I don’t know what they are trying to achieve - “A reality show?” Else they should keep their marital life off public platform. When issues start rocking their marriage, the next thing you hear is everybody should face front and respect their privacy. This Na yeye and yeye dey smell! |
thebosstrevor:You have spoken well Brother. I met an Asian colleague who told me she is married to an African. She is from Thailand. This lady commutes by train for over an hour, comes back home and still cook for the husband. She complained with a smile, laughed said she is a proper wife. She was complaining about commuting to work and not the husband. She had to be with the husband because he is schooling and that automatically means she is footing the bills at home. Apparently, it seems she enjoys being a wife and that’s the Asian culture. Also, the Indians are known for this. My other Indian colleague said she wants to learn Salsa but the husband is not interested so she cannot proceed unless the husband gives her permission. Back to our African sisters - very quick to copy bad things. The west have not culture so you can permit them to act wayward. However, when someone ditches their culture and copy people without culture, is that person not mad! This is what our African women are doing now. There is a total break down of family values in America and this is as a result of the State determining what happens in the family. Other communities in America are thriving. The Chinese are thriving, the Indians are thriving, same with the Pakistanis, because they maintain their customs and culture. Nigerians and Africans are busy trying to throw away their identity and seek commendation from the white man. |
Pataricatering:You are very very stupid. Let me give you some history lessons. Right up to 30s, white women were not allowed to work. They were house wives or even trophy wives. The workplace in the West was predominantly men. Later, during the civil right match and in order not to create too many distortions and to water down the black movement, congress signed the equal right bill to allow reduce wage disparity between men and women in the workplace. The next thing white women came up again with domestic violence issues. Now it is sexual harassment. The question is why is the white woman fighting their men - they lack culture or custom. They do not understand their role as women. They are confused. If you like continue to be influenced by people without culture, identity or custom and lose your own identity. It is not a demand for a woman to respect the husband, it is an African tradition and even found in the Bible, that you people revered so much. If you look at every successful home or marriage, you would see where both parties understood their role. There was no power struggle. The woman understands her husband, respects the husband and in turn the man shows love to the wife, provides for the family and protect the family. On the other hand, look at broken homes, most of the time, the women are the instigators. They want to be the man in the home. They disrespect their husband. They don’t know their role in their home. Ironically, these women are incapable of acting the same way at the workplace. It’s quite unfortunate that many african women want to be equals with their husband. You cannot have two captains in a ship. You are definitely going to have a shipwreck. |
thebosstrevor:Are you minding them! The inferiority complex is huge. How can a dog behave like a cat. Why should an African man behave like a western man. Same goes for African women. Even western men are running away from western women because feminism has destroyed the family system. This is what our women are copying. They ignore the strong family values we have in Africa and start copying stupidity. The Asians or even the Indians will never succumb to such stupidity it is only black people. It’s not just Nigerian women. African women in general. I watched on YouTube where a Zimbabwean man did a live YouTube video where he drank poison because his wife destroyed his life. The man died. Later some Zimbabweans were saying he used to beat the wife. A wife he took to London at age 16 accused him of domestic violence and injuries she inflicted on herself. Karma is watching and waiting for all you wicked African women |
Stevenson1:The problem actually is the men. The men refuse to organize and ensure fairness. There is a silent gender war going on in the West. Feminist are slowing suppressing men and they would succeed because Western men are weak. |
mistacoco:Dump her fast. You can’t open a business for someone and the person tells you to face front and not show interest in the business regardless of whether such person is your spouse or not. It’s better to give that money to charity |
The pastor’s message was boring |
The ones who continue to embarrass our country. However, when they make it, they rush to instagram to flaunt riches obtained illegally. |
Those are not police officers. They are impostors. Police officers don’t start beating you before interrogation. They did that to intimidate you. Also, they used a Siena Van. That should be a red flag for you. Police don’t use Siena vans. |
The same publicity she craved for is actually ruining her. |
oyetunder:Well said. It seems Okada is now legit |
I wonder what she intend to achieve from this. Many young Nigerians have contemplated suicide. The country is tough. Many young Nigerians are depressed, there is widespread unemployment in the country. |
He is going to get sacked plus orderly room |
Nofav0rs:That’s because you are not insecure. Only insecure, attention freaks do such |
papascode:From your little write up, I can see that you are a focus and disciplined person. Chief, you are a 35 years old man and no longer a child. If you truly want a Federal Job, walk up to the ministry and seek an appointment. It may sound ridiculous, but that’s what you want. You need to know how to get what you want. You are qualified than the civil servants occupying the spaces in Abuja. I will give you an example - you see independent contractors loitering transcorp hotel in Abuja targeting politicians for contracts. You can do that. Also, you might consider joining a political party and demonstrate your skills. If your party wins, you can land a job. You may also consider volunteering for a Federal Job position so you know people and see how to get in. If you truly want a Federal Job - go for it. Don’t wish for it. It won’t come. You have to go get it. You are an adult and not a child. |
papascode:Ok like I have said in my previous comment - Job satisfaction is your main concern. Why don’t you work towards getting a Federal Job. It’s possible if that’s what you want rather than wishing it happen. If a Federal Job would make you happy than going abroad - go and get a Federal Job. |
The OP needs to evaluate his life decisions. In my own opinion, I think he is dissatisfied with the nature of his employment, that is being a contract staff and would prefer a clear career pathway where he can grow. If this is the way he feels. All he needs is to get another job. He has the skills, experience and also the academic qualification. He is now a Master Degree Holder. I know a lot of people in Nigeria always believe that living outside the shores of Nigeria is a quick pathway to riches. That’s a fallacy. The first question any individual should ask themselves is what does success mean to them? Success is relative for all individuals. The OP’s savings of N9M is approximately $CAD31,000 and not sufficient for tuition fees in a top 10 school in Canada for a Master’s degree that I feel is irrelevant for him. He has not taken into consideration, Visa processing fee, flight ticket, accommodation fees per month, feeding and commuting fees. Even if he works, the number of hours is restricted and the amount he gets to make only cover accommodation plus living expense. A better option is the PR route if he is interested in Canada. However, if he has the notion of “Money Dey Abroad” or “Once I land, I don arrive” - then he is making a ridiculous mistake, because he will start his life afresh from the beginning. He would find out that his N9M is small money in Canada. He would have to adapt to Change and the nitty-gritty of living in a western world. If the OP is considering the business route. He must be prepared for the challenges of doing business in Nigeria. I think the mistake we make is to look at the final outcome of people and not the process of them getting to that outcome. We see our friends who are now successful in a particular business, we jump straight into it and get trapped and caught up. Starting a business is not having money in the Bank and then using that funds to start any business. In fact, you do not need money to start a business. If you are an entrepreneur, all you need is your passion, drive and never give up attitude to implement your idea and not money. I hope the OP notes this, else he would be down by N9M and no job to fall back on especially in Nigeria where the conditions are already designed to make you fail in Business quick. The OP must assess his Entrepreneurial skills and where he has none, he must work on attaining such skills because not everybody can successfully run a business in Nigeria or even in any part of the world. In other words, not everybody should be a Businessman. I know it’s a term used loosely in Nigeria. We all want to own our own business and hammer. You can also live a decent life as an employee in Nigeria. However this is also dependent on your decision and definition of the word “Success”. If you are considering Canada, think properly again. Nobody in Canada will tell you the actual truth. Even Refugees in Canada living in camps and surviving on Government stipends will tell you their condition is better. Also Nigerian-Canadian who are PRs will not actually own up to you with the truth. However, what I know about Canada is that you cannot escape BILLS and TAXES. The moment you step your feet on Canadian soil, the bills starts running even before you earn a dime. I know Bankers who are working in Walmarts and Best Buy in Canada, but if you speak to them, they would tell you that their present life is better than that in Nigeria. Please be informed that I am not saying they are doing badly, but to bring out points on facing life decisions. However, because we have this “Bandwagon Effect” or “Herding” where we always follow what is trending without thinking, there is now a huge influx of professionals going to Canada. There is nothing wrong with that if there is a concrete plan. Nothwithstanding, it is your decision to make, nobody would live your life for you, regardless of location or status. In any of the decision the OP makes, he must consider the downside and be prepared for them else he would remain unhappy. |
chrischukszy01:Well this should not be any of your concern or business. The man claims he has N9M in savings. Do you have any other plans rather than offer him some advice? |
soledayo:Are you sure? Don’t say thing you cannot validate. |
Seems the Super Eagles is getting so much support worldwide. It has to be maximize and I hope they do well at the tournament. |
@OP I think you made the first mistake to come here seeking advice. I have read all the comments and I’m not surprise with the comments here. I would drop some things here, but I don’t know if it would help you. - Your N9m is relatively not much. However, if you are resilient you can convert that money to an empire. - You already have a Masters, why go for another Masters again in Canada. If you are looking at education as a means to immigrate, please note there are other ways to immigrate to Canada apart from Education. What many people don’t tell you is the pains they go through during schooling. You don’t need to go through that stress to immigrate since you have a masters and why would an Employer employ an individual with 2 Masters. He seems confused academically or too expensive as a staff. The average highest degree in Canada is Bachelors and Canada is big on experience rather than academics. Canada is also big on soft skills than technical skills. If you want to immigrate, please note that you have to be prepared. You cannot escape Bills as it’s being done in Nigeria. Also, you cannot get rich quick or get rich at all, but you may afford the basic things of life which is treasured as Gold in Nigeria. You cannot oppress anyone abroad materially because the average Jones on the street is just like you and basically has everything you have. The only people you can impress is Nigerians in Nigeria or illegal immigrants. Nobody send you for abroad. So that Nigerian mentality of getting rich is useless. - On the other hand, the business environs in Nigeria is tough and comes with challenges. I cannot tell you to go and do business because only you would face the challenge. First, You need to sit down and evaluate your life. You seem dissatisfied. It’s normal. Do you want to switch job. If you get a job as a permanent staff, would you be more happy? If that’s the case, then start looking for a job. If you claim you don’t have time, then you don’t want another job. Also, another question you should be asking yourself - why do you want to start a business? Do you have the entrepreneurial skills? Do you have the ability to be resilient when there are challenges? Are you a good sales man? Do you have people skills and can you manage people and motive them positively? Do you hate working for others? If these are your question, then start your business. If you cannot answer these questions, your N9m will go down the drain and put you under pressure. Finally if you are considering the immigration route - why do you want to immigrate? Do you want to switch career or environment? Are you a flexible person that can adapt? Are you willingly to change your opinion? Can you integrate properly? There is no money to pick on the streets in the western world? You actually work thoroughly for every hour and on the hour? The Canada you want to run to still operates the Contract worker stuff. In fact it’s a normal practice, but as a contractor, you may earn more or less depending on your skill set, experience and the need for your skill. So you maybe running away from being a contract staff only to end up being another contract staff. It’s just a Nigerian perception crap and poor labour law that makes contract staff look like stench. I have written more than I initially prepare to. |
greggng:If you try this be rest assured you would regret your entire life even in your death, you would still be regretting |
Jerrosky1986:Just sell the club. That’s what they want him to do. I don’t understand the hostility. The man went to Israel to obtain the citizenship to circumvent the UK-Russian diplomatic war, but it still seems they are not convinced. Sell and move on |
limeta:It was a well debated case at that time. Anyone who pretends to forget either is biased or just pretentious. |
janellemonae:Apparently, you may have relatives in Canada plus strong ties to Nigeria. Even if you don’t have strong ties to Nigeria, but have relatives in Canada, your visa application will be approved. If you don’t have family in Canada, there is a huge possibility they won’t grant you visa. As a permanent resident in Canada, the visa consulate is oblige to give concrete reason to deny anyone they are sponsoring or inviting. There is also the possibility that the PR can sue them for visa denial. So when giving your advice, I guess you have to be clear about it. Canadian visit visa just got even harder at the moment due to the incessant behavior of Nigerians. That New York route has been in existence for so many years. A lot of Nigerians have used that route to enter Canada and integrate quietly. Canada needs people. They need refugees, but they want it controlled because there is a quota system for all programs and it helps them with planning decisions. Canada also want aliens for odd jobs because not everyone would do such jobs. However, when you have people rushing at your borders non-stop each day, you have to respond and that’s what they just did. Per day it is estimated that over 90 Nigerians enter Canada via the New York route and there have been reported cases of fighting in Refugee camps caused by Nigerians. Also the refugees stories and applications of Nigerians seem very similar and such indicates a “Human Trafficking Ring” that exist in Canada and has ties to Nigeria. So a few bad Nigerians as usual have messed it up for the rest. |
Magu is it that you don’t read the report from FIU, a unit within your Organisation? Banks has been reporting on corrupt persons since the implementation of FAFT 40 recommendations. How can an EFCC Chairman make this kind of statement! |
Their demands are ridiculous. If you want to earn like doctors, go to medical school and be a doctor. In fact, their jobs may become non existence in the future. Their jobs can be conducted effectively by Robots/Artificial intelligence. You can imagine a health worker who went to school to study pharmacy. Rather than look for industries to make drugs, he/she dispenses drugs in a hospital and now wants to earn like a doctor. Na wa oh. Robots can dispense drugs! |
Man you are old. You should be receiving pension and not running a country |
Corruption is not the main problem of Nigeria. Archaic leaders, tribalism and nepotism are the main problems of Nigeria. |
Unfortunately, he is right |

Okada...one of the deadly jobs which are traceable to when our economy was crucified by those with limitless greed. Instead of us to work towards eradicating such leprosy in our society, we have built an empire around it. Okada unions are busy producing rich union chairmen...they are tools in the hands of politicians...and another channel for our police officers to make daily money. Even the government now see it as another source of internal revenue.
