I want to mention that I am using the same setup mentioned by CaptainFM1 without problems here in Nigeria. I brought my simple ONN Android box from the US, and subscribed to 30GB data on my MTN line and sharing that as Wi-Fi for the TV.so far it has worked flawlessly. Netflix, Premier league via Kodi, etc. pretty much everything he worked. The Key is to have solid internet connection.

It’s not even backed up to Google drive, have you checked? It should by default, unless you specifically disabled that option. If so, then you are so out of luck.

In your post, you indicated that someone with a BS degree in Nursing is also an RN. and that's not correct as I stated above. You can have a BSN without being an RN. They are two different things. At least that's how it works here in the US.

You are wrong! Because one has a BSc in Nursing (BSN) does NOT mean they are a Registered Nurse (RN). An RN is a certification, and someone that has passed the national licensing exam is given that designation.

OP, go for Nursing. It's quite hot right now in most countries, including here in the US.

The lack of solid infrastructure - uninterrupted power, solid internet connection, security, makes this a bit difficult. Most firms will be worried about security of their data/information. This would have been a good option for most Nigerians, especially with the English language. That's an advantage. However, the Nigerian government has failed to provide the infrastructure to make this achievable.

For programming, you can't go wrong with Python or Java. The key thing is to make sure whatever language you choose, you learn the fundamentals of software development very well. The basics, Data Structures, etc. Then you can decide if you will focus on the backend or frontend. There are also the database route. That would lead you into the DB admin role.

Yes, the USA does NOT export Software Developers. I am an IT manager (Was a dev for about 20 years or so) in the US, and I can tell you, it's very difficult to fill open positions. Our IT dept has hundreds of software devs, with over 80% of them being of Indian origin. Almost my whole team is based in India. The ability to work remotely is also key. Devs will not even waste time with you if you do not give them the option to work from home. I have not been to the office since around April 2000, when covid first started. Would be great to be able to make US salary and work out of Nigeria. However, excellent internet connectivity and power are extremely important. Unfortunately, those are still not easily and cheaply achievable in Nigeria.

You are doing well. of course you do not necessarily have to wait the whole 30 years to pay it off. Was in the same boat quite some years ago. Built in 2000, with a 30 year fixed rate. We paid it off in about 14 years or so. An extra payment each month goes a long way. Well done bro!

The bands you're talking about, check of Infinix supports any of those band before typing. Always put things in context

The Iphone is not really a status symbol here in the US. For example, almost half of all smartphone users here use an Iphone. That's a whole lot of Iphones. mainly because during the early days of smartphones, Iphones were being sold by all the carriers. So most folks had no choice but to use an iphone. And it's still the case up till now. it's definitely not a status symbol here at all. I am an android person and like its flexibility. However, it's just that some of he carriers here give you limited choice. I have always used unlocked android devices. Until AT&T recently started to disable sim cards that are not using one of their approved android devices. Because of VoLTE compatibility. So I could no longer use my android devices. My last iphone was the iphone 4s, until I had to use my daughter's old Iphone 11. Slowly getting used to the IOS again though.

Even tho you can get it on credit, a lot of people still can't afford it and would be other brands instead. It's not just here Dem dey use am brag. It's a really big deal for them too, hence the rush to upgrade as soon as possible, and you'll see millions of views in YT for any iphone related news or reviews.

I agree that, if you have some programming knowledge it's still okay to apply. I am sure they are aware that most of the folks writing software in Nigeria may not neccessar9ily have experience in all the skills they are asking for. Also, even without experience, if you've written some applications and you can demo those apps at an interview, you can use that as a leverage. If you've not done any programming at all, no point applying. There will be a technical interview, and a very rigorous one at that. So applicants should be prepared for that.

These are mostly job titles. You need to determine what you like and have a passion for, and then study a course/program relating to that. I will say though, do not study a course primarily because it pays well. Most that do this, are not always successful at it. Because they do not necessarily love what they are doing.

I doubt there are many using them. Primarily due to lack of apps. There is barely any app that's still supported. Since Microsoft has ended support for the OS. I had a Lumia 650 for a while, that I use primarily as a music player. Until it got stolen during my last visit to Naija.

Sounds like that's the last location it pinged the network from. They probably have not turned it on.

You are wrong! because a phone works in Nigeria does not mean it will work abroad. It will work only if it has the appropriate network bands. In the US for example, AT&T and Tmobile are shutting down their 3G network and the US and Nigeria use totally different 4G/LTE bands. If your phone used in Nigeria is not a global device with LTE/4G bands 2,4,5, 12/17, 30, 66, or 71 it will NOT work in the US. So that particular phone does not have any of those bands. So, it will not work here in the US.

As others said, you can still use your phone in Canada while you settle down, and decide on which device to purchase. You phone, from looking at its specs, should be fine on 3G, but will not operate optimally on 4G, if at all. It has only one of the 4G bands used in Canada. Anyway, get there and then order an unlocked device, with the appropriate bands, from any of the online outlets. Good luck!

I can't believe some people will actually go through the hassle of ordering and replacing the motherboard just to be able to use the locked iphone. Usually when people go through this length to use the iphone it means it was not got legally.

Having unlimited data is one thing. However, having the uninterrupted electricity to really allow one to enjoy the unlimited streaming/data is another. Without solving the electricity issue, one can't really derive full benefits of unlimited internet.

That price is not bad. If speeds are good and solid as advertised. I pay $59/month here for unlimited with Comcast here in the US. This is for 100 Mbps down/12 Mbps up. I always get the advertised speed.

Oga, both UK and Nigeria are on +1GMT. There's no way it will be 9:30 pm in Manchester and it will be 5:00pm in Nigeria. You are carried away of the euphoria of being in Queen' a land.

Bottom line - don't buy icloud or carrier locked iphones. The headache involved with unlocking may not be worth it. Best to look for a iphone that's free and clean of such locks.

There is probably a limit on the size and resolution on the pictures that could be uploaded. Also, may be it's being compressed during the upload.
