That's normal Iphone behavior. If you want it to stay off while charging, turn it off after connecting the charger.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: As An IT Support Staff, What Course Can One Study Online by Bossman(m): 3:40pm On Mar 07, 2023
It really depends on where your interest lies. Not sure about how power unit relates to IT, but see if networking interests you. You can also grab a book/tutorial on programming and see if that interests you. Once you determine that, grab the bull by the horn and master the technology of choice very well. Good luck!

kiako:
As an IT support staff in the electrical (power) unit, what course can one run online that is relevant to this...

I want to increase my value in that regard.

Or he thought that he was the only Nigerian on this board in Chicago. Most of you guys have been there longer than he has and know the city better than he does, I’m sure. I’m pretty sure you guys earn more than he does yet you don’t feel the need to show off and lie to others.

You can also try resetting it if the password you entered is not working. The default password is under the battery slot. What is the exact model of your device, also have you tried 1234567890 as the password to log into the router?

Tsfari:
That is the challenge I’m sir. How then do I connect to the router? I have tried the default password and username as written in the manual guide but it’s saying incorrect password. I also can’t acess the Admin page to be modify password.

What can I do please?

This is certainly not true. You will buy full Chinese meal with rice that's at least double that for less than $10. As someone already posted, the whole bag costs just over $20.

Yes, they suggested Payday, which uses the black market rate as well. I can't imagine any payment option will use the bank rate.

ProgrammingRe: In What Order Did You Learn Your Languages? by Bossman(m): 5:57pm On Feb 23, 2023
It's one thing to learn a programming language, however it's another to become very proficient in it and be able to function with it in a job setting and solve problems with it. Having said that, here is my path:
Took ADA (Used this to learn core programming), C, C++ and COBOL in college. My first job out of college donkey years ago was as a COBOL developer. Did that for about 3 years and then started to learn Java while on the job (Java was very new then), then made the switch to Java around 2001 or so. Every Gig that I worked at, and even up until now that I am in management/app architecture, I used Java.

What is inferred is that an Icloud locked device is not usable until the lock is removed (and is currently not possible), and so people just buy it to use for parts to fix other Iphones.

The use the black market rate. It's being mentioned in the starlink thread. Makes it out of reach for majority.

Thread - https://www.nairaland.com/7547581/starlink-officially-nigeria-pricing-naira

michlins:
will the mentioned payment options charge the official rate or will they charge the black market rates?
PropertiesRe: General Topic Thread-To Discuss Anything And Everything in Building Construction by Bossman(m): 8:04pm On Feb 20, 2023
To pay for starlink in Nigeria they use the black market rate for the conversion. So the startup and monthly cost is even more than is being mentioned here

PhonesRe: The Starlink Thread by Bossman(m): 6:19pm On Feb 20, 2023
Yes, starlink is supposed to be setup at a specific location. It will be very inconvenient to move it around.

TheOldGods:
My biggest problems about starlink is not the fact that I need electricity. I have solar and can power it, if all comes to worse, I'll get a battery backup for it. Now here comes the problem, I go out alot to shoot video's, create content etc. That's where the router comes in place. If the router has access to battery in built, then I could squeeze it in my bag or my car when ever I move out. What's the point of paying 33k for data, while getting a small router and payin 10k extra just to have data to use outside? Maybe starlink is not for me,

I googled your error, and found this thread. You may need to do some tweaking with your location coordinates.

The starlink router needs an ethernet adapter, to be purchased separately, for a wired connection.

They should. The recent Pixels (5/6/7) all have band N78 which I believe is what MTN uses.

Will pixel ever work with the MTN 5G?
PhonesRe: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by Bossman(m): 11:20pm On Feb 07, 2023
Yes, it will be mounted somewhere on your property (with clear view of the sky) and then hard-wired to the router in your house. The router is what you will connect your devices to.

I really like it as a music player and it does that well for my needs for now. It's actually my daughter's old device from 3 years ago or so. Stumbled upon it in one of her drawers a couple of years ago, so I found a use for it. Thank God she did not throw it away...LOL!

Why don't you sell me the 7plus let me change the battery? Yes?
PhonesRe: The Xiaomi Thread. by Bossman(m): 2:48pm On Feb 03, 2023
If you are certain your device actually has 5G, then it's possible your SIM needs to be configured for 5G.

paradigmshift:
thanks boss, you are good.. I didn't see 5g only.. only saw other options like LTE only, wcdma, gsm...
PhonesRe: IOS Iphone Anyone? Find A Solution For Ur Iphones Here by Bossman(m): 11:59am On Feb 03, 2023
I have a 7 plus with 76% battery health that I use strictly as a music player, with no SIM card in it. It barely lasts more than 4 hours without having to plug it in. If it had a SIM card in it, it will be worse. So if you purchase that one, you’ll be looking to replace the battery ASAP.

varnaija:
I am planning to buy a Uk used iphone 7 32Gb, problem is battery is 78% health, what do you advice? or is the battery dead at that percentage?

Secondly, what is the difference between the black and white one (picture attached)

They call the black one 'smart' here, is it better?
PoliticsRe: We Are Delighted That Starlink Is Now In Nigeria - Buhari by Bossman(m): 11:36am On Feb 03, 2023
Not feasible. A basic home/office/starlink router will not support anything remotely close to 800 people. Remember only 1 router can connect/hard wire to the starlink dish. Then users connect to that router. A basic router has very limited range. And devices have to be within range of the router for connectivity.
Heck! Even in my ordinary 2500 sq ft house I have multiple routers connected via internet switches so that I can have seamless connectivity throughout the house on all 3 floors/backyard.

malali:
The future is here.......Imagine a high rise building with 800 people and 1 star-link

Thats 125 Naira for a month of unlimited data.

PhonesRe: Starlink Will Shake Up The Internet Market! What do you think? by Bossman(m): 8:40am On Feb 02, 2023
Not really feasible. Unless those units are in very close proximity. Remember they will be connecting to the router and not the satellite. A router’s range is quite limited.

zoedew:
Smart thinking! Especially as it can serve 128 connections to one device. Expect service degradation though with increased connections.
PhonesRe: Starlink Will Shake Up The Internet Market! What do you think? by Bossman(m): 4:40pm On Feb 01, 2023
You are absolutely correct. These are not game changer costs. It has to be cheap for the masses to be able to purchase it.
Same here - have used my MTN data (connected to my android box) to successfully stream movies, matches, etc. So for now, mobile data will still be the dominant means of getting on the internet in Nigeria.
COMPAQ:
Not sure its much of a gamechanger! Cos its too expensive. From what I gather, the NGN prices posted on the site are just for representation. Once you try to pay, I hear it will request for the USD equivalent. So In effect, the monthly subscription is almost N40k, as you will have to source your dollar at the black market, while the hardware costs is almost N450k. Those are not prices that are game changer prices. Besides if what you have meets your need, why do you necessarily need it. I have 10Mbps Fiber Optic and I can watch FHD with it for N11.5k. If I wanted 20Mbps, it would be N18k or so. So if that works, why do i need to cough out half a million naira of my hard earned money.

And our gsm isnt that bad. i've watched matches on my phone at 1080p for the full 90mins several time without major issues. just the occasional drop in resolution now and again.
PhonesRe: Starlink Will Shake Up The Internet Market! What do you think? by Bossman(m): 4:33pm On Feb 01, 2023
Yes, you have to buy a device for each location. Unless you want to be hauling the satellite dish/router back and forth to each location. This is broadband internet that's supposed to be fixed at one location. The satellite will have to be installed and probably attached to a building and then connected to the router. So, it's not really portable.
qtx:
Í dont get really. For instance if you have many locations is it that u have to buy device for each location? is there a way i can use one device to cover for more locations even if it means having a higher subscription plan to cover them all?
PhonesRe: Starlink Will Shake Up The Internet Market! What do you think? by Bossman(m): 4:28pm On Feb 01, 2023
They have to live in close proximity to each other though for it to be effective. Remember, they will be connecting to a router (and only one can connect to the satellite) that's connected to the Satellite. And a router's range is limited.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Are You Are In Tech Or Interested In Diversifying Into Tech; Check This. by Bossman(m): 10:26pm On Jan 31, 2023
This is a great idea! You can't go wrong with tech these days, as that's the future. Thank God my kids are heeding my advice and are getting exposed by taking a Programming class in Python. Even though they are not computer science majors.

UyaiIncomparabl:
If you are a female or male and interested in diversifying into Tech (Software Engineering or Product Design), then this is for you.

Stutern has introduced an initiative ( a short course designed to equip learners with zero or basic knowledge with fundamental knowledge in either product design or software development). You don't even have to pay, it's absolutely free!

At the end of your learning, you will complete a final project that allows you to be eligible to join the full course. A certificate of completion is also given to learners that complete their learning. It's as well self-paced and flexible.

Drop your email address if you are interested to join this short course so I'll recommend you. We don't hoard opportunities here.

One love for my NL family!
PhonesRe: Nigeria Is The First African Country To Use Elon Musk's Starlink by Bossman(m):
Yes, the installation cost is quite high. However, that will come down with time. No, it's not easily movable. As you will be connecting to a stationary router that's hooked up to the satellite dish mounted somewhere at your property. Moving it is possible, but it will be inconvenient for sure if you plan on moving it to work and then use it at home at the same time.

SadiqBabaSani:
Hope they find a way to bring down the installation cost.

I also want to ask, if this starlink which reportedly has antenna to be installed will serve me in my workplace or I can only use it from home.

i ams sure Musk will have his marketers in Nigeria who will push the services to people who don't know what Starlink offers
