It will not be easy. I personally will not advice you to overstay. First of all, you will not be able to get a "real" job, because you will need a Social security Number (and you cannot get it on that visa). You certainly will not be able to get a Drivers License, even if you can somehow get a job with someone you know (and you will be paid in cash). That stuff mentioned above, about opening a bank account with that visa - I do NOT thinks that's possible. Bottom line - It will be daily struggle, and you will be constantly watching your back. At least until you somehow find a way to change your visa status while you are here. The links below may be helpful

For the needs you specified, I believe a non-blackberry smartphone, such as the Nokia, or even android, will serve you better. The only advantage the BB has is the PIN feature. However, I use whatsapp on my Android and Iphone and that is just about as good. As mentioned, the BB is pretty much dead, at least in the western world.

Just a little bit of clarification - HTML is NOT a programming language. It's simply a markup language used to describe webpages. Even JavaScript is nto a programming language, it's a scripting language. It's used mainly on the "client" side of web applications.

I do not know PHP, but what you are trying to do applies regardless of language. Can't you just declare a count variable, and add to it (whatever is entered as the number of items) when ever the user ads an item to the cart, and deduct from it when an item is removed. If you want the number of items for each item type, then you can use a map (or something similar in php). because you will need to store the count for each item type. OTOH, you can use 2 arrays - one will store the item type and the other will store the count associated with that item. Then just use the position within the array to identify an item and its associated count.

I will assume you have a billing rate. Estimate how many hours you think it will take to develop the application. Multiply that by your rate. Also, factor in other costs. For example will you be developing this on site, or at your own place, any training needed to use the app, etc.

Each of these tools have their advantages and disadvantages. My suggestion is to just use what gets the job done for you. As a consultant in this field for so many years. Every shop I have worked at has used eclipse or RAD (mostly BIG IT shops). At the current client we started with RAD, however have recently moved to MEB (My Eclipse Blue). I also have used eclipse for my personal development. Not saying one is better than the other, but eclipse has worked for all I need to do, period! Bottom line - use whatever works for you.

My suggestion would be to not attend a training school. It would take a lot of dedication and hard work, but you are best doing it on your own.

In most cases, I believe the reason folks carry more than one phone in Nigeria is due to the unpredictable networks. I also noticed that a lot of folks there (I am in the US) tend to carry their phones in their hands, something you will rarely see here. Complete nonsense! We are all fighting and looking for a better Nigeria. Everyone is bitter, not only those abroad. To say that those abroad have contributed nothing to the Nigerian economy definitely indicates there is of misinformation. The Nigerian "work ethic" leaves something to be desired. As a software engineer, and with a number of friends that have come home to establish companies that provide employment for quite a number of folks, I know what I am talking about!The stupid leaders we have do not give shit about the non-existing middle-class, and the 85% or more that are living in deplorable conditions! The numbers are somewhat flawed though - mainly because a good majority of Nigerians have more than one line. I have at least 2 numbers for every Nigerian contact in my phones. Very frustrating to say the least. I understand that it's mainly due to the network issues and difference in rates. But it is what it is. Heck! I do not live in Nigeria and I have 2 lines (MTN and GLO). Have had MTN for years, but had to get GLO for my USB modem last April due to my constant connectivity issues I have had with MTN. On this end (USA) we usually only have one mobile and it ALWAYS works.

I do not live in NJ. However, I have been there and flown through Newark, NJ Liberty Airport several times. You do not have to live in Newark. There are several towns/suburbs around NJ/NY/PA that are close enough.

Illinois is good. The US IT market in general is strong right now. Everyone is moving to automation. And I see that trend continuing.

For me, Java has been putting food on my table for the last 12 years. Based on the market and the trend, I believe it will continue to do so in the foreseeable future. Obviously, it's a dynamic industry, and one will need to continue to learn as things change.

The verizon/Sprint Iphone 4S and a few of their other phones (some BB and androids) are world phones. They have both CDMA/GSM radios. Have you verified that it's actually locked? I believe verizon (or maybe it was sprint) sold them unlocked.

How is the question stated? If they are 2 separate questions - one for arrested and one for convicted, you should certainly check Yes for arrested and No for convicted. If it's one question asking if you were arrested and convicted, you should choose No. They took your finger print, to see if it matches any of their records. You probably do not have have a US drivers license or SSN for them to check, so they had to take your fingerprint. Once they figured there was nothing on your record, they let you go. First of all, it's all relative. It will depend on what needs to be done, and how many hours per day is expected to be spent. Generally, rates should be quoted in hours. it makes it much easier to quantify. If he spends 2 hrs/day that's not a bad rate for Nigeria standards.

I agree. Nothing wrong with it at all. My 9 year old wanted an Ipad for her birthday last month. Last school year, her teacher used her's to demonstrate stuff to them, and lets them play with it. She even said she wanted to use her own savings for the thing, if I do not get it for her. I just did not think she is ready for a an Ipad. So, I got her (and her 12 year old brother) an IPOD touch each.

PS - All their school work, homework, reading, etc. is on the internet these days. They are expected to have internet and be able to do everything online. So, each of them have a laptop already. The more reason why I do not see the need for an Ipad.

One task at a time. First of all, what is your experience, do you plan on doing this yourself, or do you want someone to do the whole thing, and you are trying to find out how much tat will be? What kind of functionality do you want, what kind of data/entity do you need information about, etc? If you do not have all this information handy, and you want someone to come in and do the analysis/design and development, then that will all need to be factored into the cost. Seriously, it's not easy to just give you a ballpark figure without knowing more from your end.

There is no way the Nigerian market will be able to save RIM. They are pretty much dead. How can a country with a miniscule smartphone penetration save RIM. They are pretty much dead in the Western world. They failed to innovate quickly, and now they are in deep trouble. As for productivity with your phone, the BB does not even come close to the likes of the Iphone and android. These phones (Iphone and android phones) are pretty much mini computers.

I do NOT see how in the world this will be an interview question (At least not here in the USA). It has absolutely zero significance to your technical skills, which should be the goal of a technical interview. Then, again, they do things differently over there.
