PoliticsRe: Some Remedies To Judicial Corruption In Nigeria by bosunjohns(m): 5:57pm On Apr 10, 2019
Opinionated:
By Dr Charles Omole

In a previous article, I revealed some of the ways judges and court staff are induced by litigants to “buy” verdicts. Judicial corruption is a global phenomenon, although its worst manifestations are in developing countries.

By 2015, Transparency International (TI) found that 28% of citizens across Sub-Saharan Africa who had contact with a judge or court official paid a bribe. I am sure that is more like 80% in Nigeria. There is no one way to reform the Judiciary and we must find what works for Nigeria rather than simply copy what other nations did. A corrupt judiciary means that the legal and institutional mechanism designed to curb corruption generally will be handicapped. The Bangalore Principles of Judicial Conduct have been an important reference for the development of codes of conduct, there is increasing recognition of the limits of self-regulation by judges. In order to uphold judicial integrity, it is vital to balance legitimate concerns for the independence of the judiciary while keeping judges accountable and minimise abuses.

The judiciary is the public institution that is mandated to provide essential checks on other public institutions. A fair and efficient judiciary is the key to anti-corruption initiatives. There are willing are unwilling victims amongst these judges, but let’s explore some solutions.

Like I stated before; judicial corruption is not just about the judges. The clerks, registrars and admin staff in the courts are the worst culprits in most cases of corruption experienced by the public when dealing with the courts.

Firstly; the judiciary sadly will reflect the condition of the nation as a whole. We cannot have an honest judiciary in a largely dishonest nation. So what we can do is reduce occurrences. Corruption in the judiciary is a complex problem and needs to be addressed using variety of approaches.

Here are 11 ways we can reform:

REMOVE ALL PROSECUTORIAL POWERS AWAY FROM THE POLICE

There should be a reform that limits the job of the police only to investigating crime and passing the files to a separate prosecution agency for determination of whether to prosecute or not in ALL cases.

The police use their power to prosecute some crimes badly at the moment. They use it to fleece Nigerians and also to corrupt the Judges, especially at the Magistrate & High court level.

NEW JUDICIAL GUIDELINES MUST SET TARGETS FOR ALL JUDGES

Judges MUST obtain special permission from the Head of their respective courts if their performance misses the target is all cases. These targets will include for instance; how long it takes for a case to be completed, limit on how many adjournments can be granted etc. These must be targets with consequences.

FAIR & INDEPENDENT APPOINTMENTS PROCESS

Garbage in is garbage out. If the appointment of judges are not based on merit; corruption would have been introduced from the very beginning. Such judges will feel emboldened to continue with the corruption that brought them into office in the first place. Selection criteria should be objective and appointment decisions well documented, with public access to information on the decision-making process.

THREE-YEARLY 1-2-1 REVIEW OF JUDGES

All judges must have a one to one performance review every three years. This must be made compulsory and poor performing judges sacked. This will have the effect of strengthening internal oversight within the judiciary.

DIGITISATION OF THE COURT PROCESS

The governmentt should get rid of the mainly paper-based court processes & embrace modernisation via electronic judicial platforms. You can never get rid of papers in the court process; but you can reduce it drastically.

BETTER PUBLIC TRANSPARENCY OF CASES

There should be better public access and information on all cases in the spirit of Open Justice. The more the public know, the less chance of some backroom deal taking place.

REGULAR INDEPENDENT PUBLIC SURVEY OF COURT USERS

There should be surveys and consultations with court users measuring trends and reports of abuses. This MUST be done by a body independent of Courts and such public engagement will lead to more responsive service from the court staff.

STRONGER SENTENCING GUIDELINES

The more fixed guidelines judges are made to work to; the more consistent judicial verdicts will be and many room for corruption will be blocked. In the UK, anytime a judge wishes to deviate from the sentencing guideline, you are required to write to the Head of Court to explain why. A Strong sentencing guideline will reduce judicial discretion but it has the effect of creating consistency.

BETTER PAY FOR COURT STAFF & JUDGES

Given the salient work they do, judges and court staff deserve better pay and remuneration. This will help reduce inherent temptation to demand bribes.

BETTER & REGULAR TRAINING FOR JUDGES

https://media.premiumtimesng.com/wp-content/files/2017/11/National-Judicial-Council.jpg

Every judge must undergo yearly training and regular appraisal. Better and regular training will ensure that reform is seen as capacity building & not as a threat. These training exercises will need to emphasize judicial codes of conduct.

BETTER PROACTIVE INTERVENTION BY THE NJC

NJC’s current laid back posture must end. They will need to be more interventionist to protect the integrity of judicial processes.

NJC must be more muscular in disciplining judges and initiating investigations even if there have been no complaints. NJC should take on a monitoring role of judges and step in to query any abnormal or unreasonable verdicts.

Actually I have over 30 ideas of what we can do to minimise corruption and reform our judiciary in Nigeria but I will stop here for now. I hope there is enough said in this thread to give hope and help initiate needed reforms. The success of any reform efforts is predicated on strong political will and national ownership. Eradication of corruption from the justice system is a joint task involving not only judges and members of the legal profession, but literally all stakeholders, including all branches of government, the media and the civil society.

Cantonese:
Waste should have pits dug up for dumping. Sanitizing chemicals are to be applied to eliminate ordor. First thing every morning farm must be properly cleaned and washed.

Pigs eat blood meal just like other livestock. But you must ensure that bloodmeal is procured from a very good feed mill. PKC is equally very good for your pigs. What we call "cadbury waste" is very good for your pigs. Human food remains you must be very careful. Some apply back of some fruits but take care with back of pine apple. It causes mouth bleeding in pigs. Back of watermelon is very good.

Ensure that the Vet sees your pigs on their check up dates and keep records of injections and treatments. Yes pigs attack humans but not like dogs. They generally mind their businesses but you must take care not to try to hand feed. Do not handle them carelessly from the behind. One kick with the back leg can send you to Igbobi hospital. Pigs are generally peaceful animals.

Rearing fish very close to the river is highly risky. If there is overflooding in the river it can cause your fish to escape and that will be a loss. Earthen ponds for me are preferrable to concrete ponds but the pond is preferrable is swampy areas where the risk of overflooding is very low.

Hopefully your questions have been answered.
PoliticsRe: Nigerian Problems And Immediate Solution By Oluwaseyi Idowu by bosunjohns(m): 9:18am On Apr 02, 2019
iyimide:
Nigeria problems and its solution.

Written by Oluwaseyi Idowu

Boko Haram
Turn Sambisa Forest to a Game reserve with wild animals with high venom lethal rates suitable for that type of climate.

Herdsmen
Restrict their movement per state and let government through the ministry of Agric be the middle men regulating their sales as well as movements.

Power
Let each State Generate, Sell and manage their own power while the Nerc regulates the power sector.
Give 6 month ultimatum to each state and federal government should provide for each state 50% of the power generation fee and regulate the spending.. the fee should be as a form of bailout and federal government should deduct from monthly allocation.

Roads
Make arrangement with International construction companies to make the road and complete within 6 months then they can make toll points and collect tolls for 10 years on those roads. No two roads should be awarded to a single construction company. There are more construction companies abroad than roads in Nigeria.

Job opportunities
First government should make company registration free in Nigeria.

All companies ready to establish is Nigeria should have 10 years company tax waived on grounds that 65% of staffs are Nigerians.(25% management staff must be Nigerians and 10% executive management staff must be from that local government)

If u establish a company in Nigeria or bring in above 10,000USD into the country legally for business, foreigners should be given Visa waivers for their family.

Villages and countryside should be opened up for factories, power plant, troops points and weapon testing sites to enhance security.

Economic restrictions such as daily fund spend limit should be reviewed upwardly.

Food products and drugs should be duty free. Car duty should be less than 5% (government can go ahead and impose higher taxes on engine oils, vehicle registration, car use charges etc

Government should make export totally free and then a 5%-15% charges on all cash inflow from abroad..

Education

Make tetfund more robust.
Make tertiary Education free but charge like 8000 for Jamb and like 5000 for Neco.
[ ] Reduce admission quota for federal Tertiary institutions for adequate trainings and also federal tertiary education becomes only for the best of the best.
[ ] Make Tertiary workers have good pay with robust allowances then go and charge high rates of taxes and federation returns.
[ ] Make Primary education compulsory for every child.
Let education be tuition free also for foreigners.. and please let's give them admission enmasse.. they will pay Visa fees, flights to Nigeria and ofcourse get accommodation. Which brings more money to Nigeria in form of foreign exchange.

Welfare
Enforce compensation for communities where environmental hazards from companies affect them.
Staff welfare matters.
Employ a special adviser on citizens welfare.
Let that person visit everywhere there is a problem in Nigeria and convey the message of Nigeria to the citizens affected.
Let that person show affection and show love.
Let Nigerians feel loved.

Salaries

Increase federal minimum wage to 150k.
Increase allowances to about 75k.

So each Nigerian takes about 225k home monthly.
We will get it back in tax.

Petroleum resources.
First, pay a monthly compensation to communities where oil is explored.
Say 0.5% of total amount accrued.
Give that money to traditional institutions and ward heads. Let the RMFAC monitor its spending.

Reduce fuel pump price to 15 per litre provided you can do a prepaid buying of 10000 per year. Or 75 per litre for small amounts.

That way federal government has generated money ahead.. then Impose Car use charge, generator Use charge and Ecosystem protection use charge for every household. Government makes more money for economic development and even households who normally dont buy fuel will pay for the fuels.

Let kerosene be subsidized while Stoves are banned, fire wood banned..based on health grounds.
Then there will be a charge on Use of LPG for cooking monthly. Safety agents are employed thereby generating employments.

That way, even feeding will generate money for government to cover many other loopholes..

Foreign affairs

Nigerian visas should cost about 400$ but all visas should be Electronic.
All visas should be instantly issued but immigration officers should decide if a traveller is fit to enter the country.

Nigeria should begin to advertise all over the world why people should come and invest in Nigeria.

Nigeria should partner with countries like China to build more airport terminals and allow them to maintain and manage the airports at 95%-1% profit sharing for 10 years and then transfer to to Nigeria.
Every state must have an airport by this arrangement.

Nigeria should struggle(bribe, influence) to host many international stuffs.. conferences, symposium, workshops, tournaments, games etc.

Nigeria should start acting as a mediator for peace and global sanity( to bring Nigeria) to limelight.
Host Kim and Trump summit..

President(or a designate) should visit
Israel, Pakistan,Palestine, north Korea, Cambodia, South Korea and start begging about for world peace.. people would begin to see Nigeria in Good light.
Beg the media to stop shouting about scammers and Yahoo Yahoo to stop tainting our image.
Let efcc face internal affairs only..
Change the face of our foreign affairs.. modernise things. Let everyone who applies Nigerian Visa get it.. but ofcourse at about 400$.
Showcase our tourist attractions on international media.

Let people be able to buy Nigerian citizenship for say 30000USD.
Go to countries and negotiate for Visa free for Nigerian citizens.. on very minimal but stringent conditions.. countries like Japan, Korea, Australia and other far distant countries with high flight fees.. we should also grant their citizens Visa free..

Police affairs

Seriously face this.
Cancel SARS.
Cancel Anti Kidnapping. Draft this to NsCDC.

Let police be sane.
Sack police officers with shabby uniforms.
Sack police officers who are not polite.
In court, before any trial, let test for police sanity be first tested before commencement of trial.
Do massive police retrenchment. Ensure that small amounts of offences by the police is matched with prison terms. Let police be more upright.
Let police training schools be degree awarding.
Remove police from stop and search. Make them an observatory agency for a while. Like 10 months.. we wont die..

Enforce height, education and other qualifications for the police force.
Move them to be under the Judiciary.

Police should stop settling disputes. There is an alternative dispute resolution.

Debt settlement should strictly be for the courts.
Give police good vehicles, various categories.. showed, patrol vehicles etc. Let police be able to impose fines on pardonable behaviours. Let FIRS collect all the fines..

Para military

Immigration be banned from Handling money at their points.. airports and seaports or border posts.
They should be empowered to determine exit and entry at our points of Entry or exit.
Immigration plays an important role in this government plan.
Increase their salary and give overtime bonuses.
Government should deploy them to our vast borders. And decongest the offices. Nigerian passports should be applied online, decided and issued all without face to face meeting. Courier services should deliver the passports.

Customs should be moved from ministry of finance to Ministry of trade and Investment. They should be orientated to know that they are not to seize things and auction, but to ensure good trading and business atmosphere in Nigeria.
They should be polite and ensure they are on the borders. Its not right to find them outside of the border posts.
They should be neat, polite and must not be drunks or drug users.
All must be certified fit medically with at least 15 years drug fee life including use of alcohol.
They must ensure trade goes well in Nigeria.

Nigeria port health services
These people must be either nurses, doctors or holders of a degree in Public health only. All others already there must train new staffs and they themselves be transferred to other outposts of the fed ministry of health.
They must ensure no strange illnesses are brought here.

Nigerian Quarantine services.
These ones just currently collect salaries.
If they arrest foreign goat, I learnt near badagry west.. that link bridge, they will just roast the animal and chop..

I currently think they should just be scrapped and merged with the dept of foresty and wildlife management of the ministry of agric.

Tourism and arts.
Let the nation organise and start a film festival, as Nirth Korea bad reach, people who visit the country go there because of their film festival.. with that stuff, we can portray a good Nigeria and make people see the rights in our life too..
Nigeria will generate a lot of money from Visa fees.. let the nation even make a special Visa for the festival.. at say cheaper like Russia did for the world cup..

Let Nigeria show the world its beauties.. show them obudu ranch, tinapa, agbuike cave, zaria walls, mambilla, owu falls, gossy spring, idanre hill, olumo etc..

Let us also organize Nigeria annual academic festival.. with 20 million PhD holders, haba we can do something..

Communications
Govt should impose a daily phone access charge of 30NGN
And all text messages should be free.
All first 20 seconds daily should be free also to all local numbers.
Data should be 150 for 1gb.
SIM reg should be matched with BVN.
Call drops should be sanctioned by NCC that service providers pay 5000NGN per call drop.

Banking
All Nigerians must possess a bank account for social services. Every Nigerian who has a BVN must have an ATM card. ATM withdrawal on a savings account should be limited to 5000 NGN per day or a fine of 50 nGN per extra 100 withdrawn over 5000NGN.

Government should make alert in Nigeria free.
Every Nigerian who has transacted above a 100000 monthly should be charged 1000 the next month as sundry charge.
Let Nigerians have access to Electronic banking.

Postal services.
Add money transfers to post offices.
Design a plan that makes money orders better than cash and cheques. Like let money orders clear instantly in banks.
Make local posting in Nigeria free.
Ensure post office staffs are more polite and more up to date.
Refine the postal services and integrate them to banking, airports services, customs and excise and broaden their horizon.

Trade and Investment.
Ask Toyota, Honda, GMC, Mercedes Benz to come to Nigeria for business.
Put Them in states with dull economies
Toyota= Katsina
Honda=Kogi
Mercedes benz= Kwara
GMC= Nasarawa etc

That way, they will employ people.. give them a business friendly environment.. zero taxes on exports with agreement that they employ Nigerians at least 45% and must pay the minimum wage.

Go and meet dunlop, Michelin, Finlandia, Pirelli, Samsung, apple, Nokia
Discuss with them and tell them that Nigeria has a large population and there is market for them.. convince them and give them good conditions and then give them land for building and we are good..

Religion
Let all pastors in Nigeria have a theological training from an NUC certified institution.
Let all imams have similar certification.
Traditional worshippers are not allowed to have regular congregations. U can have festivities and other stuffs.

Pollution.

It becomes an offence to drive a car above the RDA of fumes. Fine of 50k awaits u.

Nice.
Capensis:
Will you pay attention and stop this victim mentality. It is either you will take advise, since you brought this matter to the court of public opinion, or you will narrate your experience, believe your wife is the worst woman and conclude that you are leaving a marriage. You are sounding emotional and your feedback system has totally clouded your judgment.

Pay attention:
Being a husband is a full-time job. Just like any job, it comes with serious responsibilities and repercussions if you fail to understand how the game is played.

1. It is your responsibility to get the money, pay the rent, pay kids school fees. You are the chief medical officer of your home, so everyone's health including your wife's and kids', are under your care.

2. You are the chief security officer of your home, you must check that all doors are locked at night and ensure the safety of everyone in the family.

3. You are the chief romance officer, you must master how to play women with sweet words, give her massage every evening, and make sweet love to her during the massage sessions, and I mean this. Get a massage table, it goes for about 180K to 300K for a good one. If you cant afford that, then buy massage mat. Prepare the oil and get some candles.

4. You must join her in the kitchen, even if there is a maid to do the chores and help her out, you must learn this. Wash those plates sometimes.

5. You must lie down with that woman on bed after sex, hold her face, and tell her truths and lies of how you love her. Then if you have nothing more to do, do some gossiping with her. Stroke her nicely and tell her how hard you are working to ensure your family is financial stable for the next 100 years.

6. You must stop thinking like your ancestors. Define your own path and ignore customary and traditional ways of running your home. Times have changed. Why wont you fetch water and wash your own hand. Seems she is the one doing all the kitchen work and you are the African man waiting to be served. It is not mandatory, besides do you know if her mother used to serve her father that way? It might be she got a different kind of training.

7. Do not ever think you have done enough, cos you havent done jack. If you feel that your wife is cheating, then rent a place somewhere else and move towards a different location. It does not matter if you own the house you are living now. Go and rent someplace nice for a year and move there and change your children's school so as to forget the shame and embarrassment your quarrel may have caused. If it is your house, you can return back after a year.

8. Always remember that most women are like babies. You must master how to lie to them if you know that truth will hurt. Learn all those skills from yahoo boys how they control white women and use it for your marriage. If you do it right, your wife might be giving you pocket money sometimes and you all will fall in love again.

Do you think your wife is bad? You have no idea. No one will tell you what is going on in their homes.

Master how to manipulate women, and you will control them like a intimacy gadget.
Art, Graphics & VideoRe: 10 Reasons Why A Small Business Logo Is Important by bosunjohns(m): 4:40pm On Dec 27, 2018
How much will you do my small business logo for me??

erad:

We all know the Nike logo, but did you know that its well-recognized swoosh cost just $35?

Or that the first logo of Twitter cost just $15?

Think about all the most recognizable brands. Now visualize their logos. It’s easy, right?

That’s because logos go way back to the start of the marketing era. Consider Apple without the apple or Nike without its swoosh.

A small business logo is probably the most critical tool in your product promotion arsenal. It’s not just a random mark. It provides your small business with an identity that represents your core values and your mission.

If executed properly, that identity can immediately sell your brand to prospective customers. A poor small business logo design will turn your customers off. Having none at all is even a bigger marketing mistake.

https://assets.entrepreneur.com/content/3x2/2000/20160309065812-shutterstock-236672323.jpeg

Your Logo Isn’t Your Brand
Before we look at 10 reasons why it’s vital to design a logo for your business, let’s get one thing straight: Your logo represents your brand but it’s not your brand.

Through color, business logo fonts, and logo design, it portrays your business’ personality–just like the attire you’re wearing conveys who you are.

The clothes you wear aren’t you, but they reveal your character and personality to others.

Therefore, developing your logo should take a bit of thought and time. It’s a strategic effort that’ll be pivotal to all of your advertising in the future. It shouldn’t be treated lightly.

So Who Are You?
Even if your business is very small, it needs an identity. Your target market should know who you are. A great logo is one of the best ways to achieve that.

It can attract your target audience and differentiate you from competitors. Without further ado, here are 10 reasons why your small business should have a logo.

First Impressions can Make or Break Your Business
Your logo is the face of your company and as they say, “You only have one chance to create a first impression.”

Do you want your business name rendered in plain text rather than an eye-catching design? You wouldn’t want that to be the first thing potential customers see, would you?

Nope. You probably want your customers wowed instantly.

A logo is a great way to make an impression on your potential customers from the beginning. They’ll have ages to know you better in the future. In the beginning, having a logo says a lot about your business.

Gets You Recognized
A business logo should be easy to recognize in small and large print.

You want your customers to recognize your business with ease, whether it’s in a digital advert on someone’s phone, it’s embroidered on a tee, or it’s on a billboard.

Your logo should have a simple design and shouldn’t compete with the logos of other businesses. You don’t want to launch an advertising campaign with something that customers might confuse with a trademarked logo.

And you should know that having a logo that looks like a trademarked one could land your new business in legal hot soup. Popular logos are known the world over, no matter the message around it.

Fosters Brand Loyalty
Apart from boosting brand recognition, your logo can also be an effective tool for cultivating brand loyalty. Your logo can give consumers something to cling to, both physically and mentally, if they follow your business.

Based on your brand, it’s possible to distribute promotional items or merchandise that display your logo.

Lots of businesses give away free pens and business shirts with the logo prominently displayed on them. Although this can be useful for getting new customers, it also can be an amazing way to build appreciation and loyalty to your brand.

Builds Trust in Your Business
As far brand identity is concerned, logos do almost all the running. You can create trust among your customers with a logo that positively communicates with them.

For instance, if your target customer is an ice skating young person, your logo should not look like it’s selling to older adults.

Senior citizens might prefer a logo with a more conventional serif font. On the other hand, the more modern sans-serif fonts might appeal to the youth. Serif fonts are amazing if you want to convey strength and longevity but sans-serif fonts are friendlier.

The same case applies to your choice of color. Blue stirs up trust. Excess yellow might make your customers anxious.

The emotions provoked by color are an entire science, and you can capitalize on this information to create a logo design that makes customers feel great about your business even before they’ve talked to you.

Proof of Your Professionalism
News just in! There’s no real business without a logo. The truth of the matter is that although logos are simply a small part of your business’ day-to-day operations, they’re still critically important.

In the society we live in, potential consumers have acquired certain expectations. They imagine that a reliable and professional business must have a logo that stands out.

By having your logo professionally designed, you automatically stand out from the rest of the competitors that might have developed their design in a hurried fashion, failing to fully appreciate the value of brand development.

Reveals Your Identity
One of the reasons why the Nike logo is so successful is the fact that it reflects Nike’s business.

The Greek goddess of victory is behind the Nike name, and the swoosh symbolizes the pace and flight-like ability one might have while wearing Nike shoes.

Other logos of well-known brands clearly communicate what the business does, which helps customers know what they can expect from the company immediately. The logo of Swirl frozen yogurt is a little yogurt swirl. This prevents customer confusion.

And there is a good reason why most top logos feature a certain image.

Creates an Emotional Connection
Again, visualize all the most famous logos. How do they make you feel? Logos are often the first thing that builds the emotional connection you’ve got with your favorite brands.

Consider this data from Marketing and Entrepreneurship:

80 percent of consumers think that colors boost brand recognition
93 percent of purchasing decisions are made based on visual perceptions
7% of customers say they buy a product because of color
This is why your small business needs a logo that’s specially designed to draw a positive reaction from customers.

If customers connect with your logo, they’re unlikely to forget your company. And if they’ve got good memories of your business, they’re more likely to buy your products or services.

On the other hand, if your logo is poorly designed, this can be bad news for your bottom line. Again, you create your first impression with your logo and as the saying goes, “You’ve only got one chance to impress.”

Set Yourself Apart with Your Small Business Logo
No matter the product or service you sell, you’ll have lots of competitors. That a fact.

So how can stand out from your competitors? Well, a logo is one effective tool that will help you do that.

You only have so many chances to prove yourself. A logo represents your business visually and is a strong way to leave an impression and foster your brand identity.

A logo shows your consumers that you care about them and want to be the best in your area.

Creates Consistency
We’re now in an era where businesses exist on various platforms, including websites, blogs, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, leaflets, info packs, business cards, etc.

This means your brand identity should be rubber-stamped everywhere. Here, some sort of consistency is critical, ensuring that your business is clearly and properly represented wherever it appears.

This kind of consistency will ensure you keep up that professional image and enhance the value of that strong brand loyalty that you need to build.

Raises Expectations
After being used to the Apples and the IBMs and Nikes of this world, we’ve come to expect any business to have some kind of professional look in the shape of a proper logo at the very least.

If a business does not have this essential asset, why would anyone do business with them? Without a logo, all these points have been cast aside, and no real effort yet has been put towards the design, development, and maintenance of a business’ front-facing visuals.

You may not actively think about this (unless perhaps you’re a logo designer) but something like this attitude is certainly happening, and it’ll ultimately have a huge impact on the choice to either sign up with your business, or a competitor.

The Bottom Line
While you might have various other matters to attend to when building your business, don’t overlook the importance of investing in a strong logo.

A professional small business logo is a worthwhile investment and it’ll be worth it in the long run. The sooner you build one the better off will be your business.

If your business has no logo yet, or even if it’s got one but needs changes or improvements,

CareerRe: Top 10 IT Certifications In 2019 by bosunjohns(m): 3:28pm On Dec 07, 2018
Ayodejioak:
Considering a career in Information Technology (IT)? Well, it all solely depends on some actionable plan. Depending mainly on strengths, many find it seemingly stress-free to decide a track to pursue in the IT field, ranging from Data Analytics, Programming, Networking, Audit, Risk assessment, Blue/Red teaming, database administration, Cloud and Cyber Security.

Bringing a professional IT certification to the table, whether as a prospective or as an existing employee, creates a room to stand out in the job market or being open for a salary renegotiation respectively.
We have arrived at a comprehensive list of top 10 must-have IT certifications for 2019 in ascending order:

#10 CERTIFIED SCRUM MASTER (CSM)
A scrum master is the facilitator or coordinator of any team. In recent years, there exists a dire need to have someone who facilitates, moderates, documents and visualizes the team's projects (called iteration or sprints). Scrum Masters make use of the Agile methodology which is dependent on the Scrum framework.
In an IT product development, for instance, employees are grouped into smaller subsets called sprints, for the primary intent of reviewing progress and analyzing the next line of action (usually called "show and tell" ) . Meetings are recurring daily and typically last between 30 minutes to 2 hours, with a lot of post-its, markers, and stand-ups.

#9 CompTIA Security+ CERTIFICATION (SECURITY+)
The CompTIA Security+ is considered the best certification the properly covers the baseline of cybersecurity methodologies including Threats, attacks & vulnerabilities, Identity & access management, technologies & tools, risk management, architecture & design, cryptography & Public key infrastructure (PKI), and Internet of Things (IoT).Most CompTIA Security+ certification exam takes prefer going the Trifecta route, which involves having to initially obtain the A+ exam, which covers more of IT hardware fundamentals and N+ which includes more of the Network portion of Security+ creating a tremendous overlap between both the Network+ and the Security+ certification exam.

#8 CCDP - CISCO CERTIFIED DESIGN PROFESSIONAL
The CCDP is an advanced Cisco certification for senior roles within the IT networking track including Network design engineers and system engineer analysts. Over the years, Cisco certifications are underrated, resulting to minimal attention drawn to advanced level Cisco certifications and Cisco enthusiasts going for the entry and mid-level Cisco certifications like CCENT, CCNA, CCNA Security, CCNP, CCIE and CCDA which are pre-requisites to the CCDP certification.
The CCDP certification tests advanced physical, logical and technical expertise in network design concepts as well as principles required in developing various layers on enterprise architecture for network devices.

#7 CEH - CERTIFIED ETHICAL HACKER
The CEH is called the 'recruiter's certification' in IT, especially within the cybersecurity track, this is because many hiring managers/recruiters love to see this certification in their prospective employee's resume. The CEH can land you a wide range of jobs from the Security Operations Centre (SOC) analyst or Incident Response analyst to even senior roles like penetration tester and other red teaming (offensive security) jobs.Surprisingly, many will argue that the CEH, which remains one of the most expensive certifications has lost its value of credibility and given similar CompTIA certifications like CYSA+ and CompTIA Pentest+ a competitive hedge in recent years

#6 MCSE - MICROSOFT CERTIFIED SOLUTIONS EXPERT
The MCSE certification is a Microsoft certification program that specifically for Windows Operating System engineers. It is broad enough to be sub-categorized based on the career path into four main categories:
MCSE: Desktop Infrastructure
MCSE: Server Infrastructure
MCSE: Business Intelligence
MCSE: Private Cloud

"Is MSCE worth it?" is usually a question its enthusiasts can relate to for the one reason that Microsoft Certifications seem underrated and less threat posing in the recruiter's niche today, or maybe Microsoft is just best at improving the almighty Windows Operating System

#5 AWS - AMAZON WEB SERVICE
Amazon is indisputably the saving grace in e-commerce websites across America and the rest of the world. In 2015, Amazon introduced AWS which is a cloud-based web hosting service that beats its predecessors; Microsoft's Azure and Google cloud platform hands down.AWS is a fast-rising certification, gaining credibility and popularity with the intent of becoming IT's most sought-after certification today. AWS covers the required coursework for cloud practitioners, Web Developers, IT architecture, Security operations and virtual storage techs with four main sub-divisions:
- AWS Certified Foundational
- AWS Certified Associate
- AWS Certified Professional
AWS Certified Specialty

#4 OSCP - OFFENSIVE SECURITY CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL
Just like its name, the OSCP is the most recognized, top-tiered, respected and valued professional red teaming cybersecurity certification. It entails prior successful completion of the PWK (Penetration with Kali Linux) course as well as the 24-hour hands-on exam testing advanced technical knowledge using the latest ethical hacking tools and techniques and conducting penetration tests. The OSCP certification is neither a beginner nor intermediate certification but for professional pentesters, blue/red team, security professionals, network administrators and threat hunters seeking an industry leading certification. <br />It requires a strong background off networking, substantial usage of Linux OS and comfortability writing/using bash, Perl and Python scripts.

#3 CISSP - CERTIFIED INFORMATION SYSTEMS SECURITY PROFESSIONAL
The CISSP is an independent Information Security IT certification governed by the International Information System Security Certification Consortium or (ISC)², referenced as the "Zenith" of Cybersecurity certifications. The CISSP is an ideal certification for Chief Information Security Officers (CISO), IT Managers, Security Architecture and Engineering, veteran-grade security practitioners and executives who deem it fit to crown their accomplishments with certifications.<br />The requirements can be cumbersome, one of which includes a minimum of five years of direct full-time security work experience in two or more of the (ISC)² information security Common Body of Knowledge (CBK).

#2 CGEIT - CERTIFIED IN GOVERNANCE OF ENTERPRISE IT
The CGEIT is a highly competitive vendor-neutral certification with the primary aim of testing, validating and certifying IT governance skills, proudly managed by an international professional association known as Information Systems Audit and Control Association or ISACA. The CGEIT aims at testing the abilities of IT professionals in the practice of delivering quality governance. Similar to the CISSP certification, the CGEIT certification also requires proof of at least five years of experience in job domains related to IT governance including Framework for the governance of enterprise, Risk optimization, Strategic management, Resource optimization and Benefits Realization.

#1 ACTIVE SECURITY CLEARANCE
Bearing in mind that a Security clearance is not a certification, a security clearance in "active" status is usually issued, administered and coordinated by the United States Government. It is a must-have document, before securing all Federal and most state jobs with an exception for individuals who demonstrate an ability to acquire one within a stipulated time (usually 3–6 months post-employment).
Most security clearances are issued by the Department of Defense (DoD) and categorized as Confidential, Secret, and Top Secret with the amount and detail of information varies accordingly with the level of clearance requested.

Conclusion
Information Technology (IT) is a fast thriving career path in the last decade, with the capabilities of improving age-old programs like C, Python, Java and eventually creating a new approach towards data analytics including practices implored in machine learning, AI and IoT thereby opening doors to new inventions within the IT sector in general. The modes of obtaining an IT certification are now seemed straightforward, as opposed to the last decades, where materials, exams were either too expensive, with limited availability, deliberately hardened for segregative purposes or simply optimized for senior positions.

DevGuru:
UPDATE

I sincerely appreciate the fact that almost everyone here regards this matter a very serious one, this alone warms my heart a little. I have read through every single comment on this thread and I appreciate everyone. I couldn't take down the names of those whose comments aligned with my aim of keeping my marriage, but I thank everyone all the same. I realised from a myriad of comments that informing my people will mean a beginning of the end for my marriage. My daughter too is a major consideration. Above all, she's carrying another 6 week pregnancy. I have therefore decided to eliminate (or maybe suspend as the case turns out) informing any of my family members. I decided to play the records to her while I added some words. I started by telling her that my love for her made me decide to talk to her and not to anyone who would possibly fuel separation in my home like her sisters have done. She was shocked because she had never heard any allegation from me towards her elder ones before. She thought I was crazy and I wanted to bring up what was not. Then I played a little while I summarised the wildest words from her sisters which I heard in other discussion. For the FIRST time, my wife couldn't deny ANYTHING as she was convinced beyond doubt that she had been finished. She cried bitterly as I talked further but did not know what to do. But what pained me further was that it was obvious she cried because she saw that I was going to turn to an emperor and ridicule and justifiably disgrace her elderly advisers, NOT really because I was betrayed.

Right there, I was looking for a particular one to play and then even heard what I didn't hear before. Her eldest sister said she had discussed with some other siblings to intensify efforts towards her job search that as soon as she gets a job, she would have to be sending money home for them to create something for her in their town so she could come settle. She cried further as she heard it too. I told her the implications of what she had done to me with her people and then left her in the room because my baby girl was disturbing me. Anytime our voices are not friendly, she interrupts and cries for attention. I took my daughter to the living room and was playing with her.

After about 1 hour, she came to the living room and fell down before me as she cried further, saying "I'm sorry". Then I asked her to state exactly what she was begging me for - her betrayal or her siblings' offence. She knows me very well, she quickly said her betrayal (even though I knew that wasn't the primary cause of her heavy heart). Then I told her I was willing to forgive her in the spirit of upholding my marital vows to her. I explained further that for the sake of our daughter and the unborn one(s), I was willing to forgive her and build a stronger home with her. She felt a little relief knowing that she was getting back into me. I then said "but from this minute, I'm in a ruthless war with anyone, I repeat, ANYONE who is determined to break my home as I now have to guard our togetherness jealously". I stated further that the only thing I would hold against her was if she ever stood in my way. Just as if a thunder just struck and killed someone dear to her, she cried loudly again saying "she had finished her life". She said she would be the one to suffer in the war I just declared and that I should just allow her to call all of them and tell them never to meddle into our affairs again. I refused to fall for that trick and held my stance that my resolve was not going to change and I walked away. Since then till this moment, she has been like a mourning widow. When it was time for food, we ate together as usual and I've been the one trying to talk now. She hasn't spoken with anyone on phone since then, although I don't know about Whatsapp or BBM chat. Now she's waiting for the next available opportunity when she could plead for her sisters again... only God knows for how long the waiting would be. Let me quickly mention that she sent me an SMS from the bedroom a while ago: I CAN SEE THE HANDWORK OF THE DEVIL IN THIS WHOLE MATTER, PLS LET'S TRY TO RESIST THE DEVIL THIS TIME SO HE CAN FLEE FROM OUR HOME. I BEG YOU IN THE NAME OF GOD DEAR".... I simply replied from the living room: "ON THE CONTRARY HONEY, I CAN SEE THE HAND OF GOD. CAN'T YOU SEE IT?"

On another note, I do not want to assume that she will not tell her sisters, although it might take a while because she knew they would rebuke her for delivering them into the hands of their 'enemy' through Call Recorder. But before she informs them, I think I'd follow someone's advice here too that I should reveal it to someone who could keep it away from my mum and sisters, which is surely my Dad - just to put someone in the know, in case I begin to smell rat poison in my food... lol. What do you think?

You should engage a surveyor to pick the coordinates of the land and conduct a search at the Ogun State Surveyor General's office.

This provides a sure answer to your questions.
Hi there, I do not have the money to get a surveyor yet, can I use my gps enabled device to get the coordinates?
Is the longitude and latitude of the location right?

I'll also be glad if you can share the location of the surveyor general's office with me.

I haven't started the Ugu nursery yet... Was preoccupied with onions, lettuce, tomato and sweet pepper. Just got a suitable location for real expansion. It's an abandoned pure water factory with about 2 plots of space available for my use.

On organic fertilizer, I prefer it to manure... reason is that manure tend to provide perfect medium for bacteria and nematodes. All I need for my tomatoes to fruits well is potassium which I am getting from banana ash plus some other materials.

You can get organic fertilizer... Need to know what you need it for.

Nitrogen : for leaves development, worm mould will be perfect
Pottasium : excellent for fruiting like tomatoes.

Phosphorus : for stem development.

Other micro nutrients like boron, zinc and the rest are essential.

Usually nutrients needs of individual varies if you want maximum results.

Getting millions of idle youths engaged is no rocket science. I asked some where in one of my posts why Ogun State is not cashing in fortune from Lagosians who spends billions of Naira daily on food despite the fact they are next door neighbours and 5 times the size of Lagos State but just serving as an entry point for trailers of foodstuff from the North?

That is why am so against the purported N5,000 monthly for the unemployed youth as it adds no real value to their lives. Rather than give 1,000 youths N5,000 each which sums up N5m. It should be used to get them resource persons to train them on vertical sack farming, vermiculture, greenhouse construction and post harvest storage where there is no electricity, all these will take only 2 weeks to learn. These idle youths will transform to employers of labour, government will collect taxes from the enterprises they would set up and the ripple effect continues!
Very true!

Am just loving your progress as such efforts are what contribute to food security. Dots of little, congregates to make a mass. When an urban dweller realizes that he can grow his vegetables within a sack then would he realize the power in his hands. Some Reverend Sisters from Ghana recently came to Kenya to understudy vermiculture and vertical sack farming since they intend going organic where they would be using manure from their earthworms and vermiliquids for liquid fertilizers. They would be setting up their farm within a space of 120ft by 180ft. From the feasibility studies done, they would be smiling to the bank on a monthly basis! cheesy cheesy cheesy
AgricultureNigeria: Surplus Strawberry In Plateau, Few Buyers 19th Feb, 2015 by bosunjohns(op): 9:37pm On Mar 06, 2016
This is only for record purposes.
Jos — If you think that certain imported exotic fruits seen in some of the biggest shopping malls cannot grow in Nigeria, you better have a rethink! Every city in the country can grow something unique. Nigeria is a blessed country with different agro ecological zones having huge potentials.

Strawberry, an exotic fruit, which until now does not receive any serious attention as one of the fruits grown in the country, is now the most important produce that shapes the economic power of the people of Chaha community.

The community, located at the outskirt of Vom, Plateau State, gives the heart-shaped fruit the desired attention from the day they discovered it has the potentials to change their fortune and lift them from the shackles of poverty.

This reporter, prompted by the sale of the produce to motorists along Jos-Abuja Road in Jos, traced its origin to Chaha village where everybody seems to have a strawberry farm- although there are few other strawberry farmers in Jos, Plateau State capital.

A farmer does not need to buy the seed or seedlings every farming year. This is because the vines after production can be transferred as seedlings to another plot in the new farming season. This quality leaves farmers with no burden of looking for seed each planting season. Their major burden is manure, fertiliser and market.

Nuhu Samuel is a 29-year-old strawberry farmer. He told the reporter that he got into the farming after he saw his father making money from it. Although he said he cannot tell where his father got the seed from, he got the seedlings from him.

The father of two children stated that he plants in July and harvests in November. He sells in killogramme-N700 to N1, 000 per kilogramme.

Samuel gets 30 to 40 killogrammes from his farm twice a week, which helps him to pocket between N28, 000 to N40, 000. For him water supply to the farm is not much of a problem because some of the mining pods serve as mini irrigation dams that supply water to his farms.

The reporter seeks to know where he sells his produce or if he has challenges selling it, and he said: "We have one man who comes from Abuja to buy the produce from us. We normally take it to him in Vom. Apart from him, some women who sell the produce along the major roads in and around Jos come here to buy."

On how much he makes from it in a season, he said: "It depends, there are seasons that we make between N300, 000 to N400, 000 while in some seasons, I make up to N1 million from my two plots alone."

Isaac Michael is a 22-year-old strawberry farmer in the community. He was working in his farm when the reporter met him. He said that he was inspired to farm by Thomas Choji, who he said started the strawberry farming in the community.

Unlike Samuel who has been farming it for the past five years, Michael is a new comer into strawberry farming after seeing other young farmers of his age making money from it.

"I could not start earlier because I did not save enough money to buy the seedlings because it is too expensive. But July last year, I managed to save money from my cabbage and carrot farm to buy the strawberry seedlings which I planted in this farm."

According to him, each seedling costs N200. He said he has no problem with water supply as his farm is located at the bank of a lake constructed by miners.

Michael is now harvesting four cartons worth of strawberry every week. Each of those cartons contains five killogrammes of the produce. But how much does he sell a killogramme?

"It depends on the forces that shape the market such as glut and scarcity. Between October and December, it is usually very expensive. So we sell for between N900 and N1, 000 a kilo. But now, the product is plenty as you can see. During the heat period-because it is heat that facilitates its growth, we sell for between N700 and N800 per kilogramme."

"Before the season ends in April, I will make N400, 000, I could even make more if I get a better market," the 22-year-old man said.

"But honestly, it is not easy for us to sell it here. If you harvest it and keep it, before tomorrow it will change its colour. You must get the person who wants to buy before you harvest it, if not you can't harvest it and keep it. Unless you have a cooling system like the refrigerator before you can do that. This is a big challenge for us here."

For Patrick Mancha, a 45 year-old-father of five, the idea of starting a strawberry farm came to him when, as a worker on other peoples' farms, he saw how the farmers were making money from it.

With the money he realised from working for others, he established his own farm, which gives him money to feed his family and send his children to some of the expensive schools in Jos.

Mancha said he sells strawberry in cartons, which weigh 5.5 killogrammes at the price of N3, 600. The day the reporter visited the farm, he harvested 70 killogrammes from only one of the three strawberry farms, which he does twice a week.

Conducting the reporter round his farms, Patrick stressed that he will harvest 150 killogrammes if it reaches March which will give him approximately N105, 000 weekly if he sells at the least price of N700 per killogramme.

"Last year I realised N300, 000 from the small farmland I cultivated. This year, I have decided to expand the land to three plots. As you can see, the 70kg I harvested did not include the other farms. If I add those ones I may get 120kg and that will be twice a week."

Choji Emmanuel is one of the biggest strawberry farmers in Chaha. In a chat with the reporter, he stressed that the major challenge of strawberry farmers in the community is lack of market for the produce in Jos.

He told the reporter that he has attended many workshops organised for strawberry farmers on the Plateau but nothing happened afterwards.

The 29-year-old lamented that the community produces strawberry enough to meet any buyer's demand, yet they rely on few individuals and retailers to buy from them.

"We know how to farm strawberry here, but the market is our problem. We want people and companies to know that we have enough of this fruit here. What we need now is just the market."

Emmanuel has been in strawberry production for over six years. He recalled one particular year when he couldn't find buyers for the product, making them to record huge losses.

"We know there are people who need this product somewhere in Nigeria but we don't know how to locate them. I hope one day, some of these people will find us here."

According to him, even though they have Strawberry Farmers Association in the community, the leaders are not educated to help members locate where the markets for their produce lie in the country.

This reporter made effort to speak to the leaders of the association but failed because they were all out of the village trying to find buyers.

Speaking to many farmers in Chaha community it was discovered that they have the same challenge-market for their produce. They want to know where to meet buyers.

Even the government at the state and local levels do not seem to work for the interest of their famers who can make the state a hub for horticulture in Africa. Despite huge potentials created by its unique weather, the Plateau State and its local governments have failed its farmers. Even the federal government failed to see the billions of Naira lying untapped on the Plateau.

For the community, access to good road, link to bulk buyers and basic inputs such as water pumping machines and fertiliser continue to elude them.

Efforts to get the local government authorities and the state commissioner of agriculture to comment on these matters also failed.
