WebmastersRe: 6 Proven Ways To Drive Traffic To Your Website. by bosunjohns(m): 9:04pm On May 27, 2015
oteneaaron:
It is not unusual for the owner of a company, large or small, to own a website to promote their business, and there are many bloggers out there struggling to vamp up their site’s ranking. But many do not know how to attract users to their pages. To find out what are the best strategies to increase traffic to a website, I did a little research, I came up with 6 main ways to drive traffic to your site.

1. THE EMAIL.

Although its use has declined in recent years compared to the past decade, the email continues to attract traffic known to be relevant depending on the category of the business and the public to whom it is addressed.

2.SOCIAL NETWORKS.

A medium that has gained more followers over the years is social networking. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, amongst others; They are very important in attracting users. However, the public should be studied to determine which network to participate in. Also, it is essential to take into account that the message handled varies with each medium. So, if you want to promote a salad on Twitter, you can focus the message on the experience; “Enjoying this delicious salad!” might be a good tweet to attract potential customers. The format of Facebook can be exploited to have fun, and post colorful pictures with a message inviting potential customers to try. While in LinkedIn, a post like “The principles for labor productivity, increase your eating salad” would be perfect to attract users.

Because of its versatility, social networks are the ideal place to quickly communicate with customers so their use is not limited to advertising, but also to handle other issues such as response to customers complaints . However, we have to be very careful. To avoid making mistakes, you should: listen to what the customer says, figure out what went wrong, explain who is taking care of the problem and give an estimated response time. The worst thing you can do is not respond and most importantly, take into account the type of client that is managed and without using abusing language or jokes cheerfully. Remember, the better your reputation online, the more likely it is that users come to your website.

3.CAMPAIGNS.

On the other hand, it can also increase traffic through campaigns, both in line and off line. The important thing in these cases is always attached a url that will allow some traffic labeled. In many offline campaigns try to often use QR code, allowing potential customers to simply scan images and are automatically taken to your website.

4.REFERENCES

Another way to generate traffic is to get referrals from other sites, like when someone writes about your services in his blog or products including a link to your site. This is also a form of advertising and its important to take it.

5.LIVE TRAFFIC

One of the simplest ways is web traffic is generated by direct traffic. Mostly, the user just types the URL of your page in your web browser.

6.PAID TRAFFIC

As we all know, paid traffic is when you pay money to very popular websites like google, yahoo and Facebook advertise your website on a pay-per-click basis. Sure, this method brings in large traffic and conversions on your website. But as a company you need to know how spend money on this wisely. To learn how to spend on paid traffic, wisely, click here

I have only mentioned my list of 6 sure ways to generate traffic for your website……but here’s a bonus……

ORGANIC TRAFFIC

This is arguably perhaps the most important method of all. This is achieved through a good job of positioning your website in search engines like Google. To do so is key to learn this is to really understand “Search engine optimization” (SEO). Strategically placing specific keywords in particular patterns as used in your content so as to increase your search engine ranking and this draws traffic to your website without you breaking a bank.. ...

FamilyRe: Letter To Nigerian Parents. by bosunjohns(m): 8:15pm On May 26, 2015
Nairalandar:
Culled from a friend Facebook Page:

I was as a student and then a resident in the UK. I live in Abuja now. One of first things that I discovered about UK-born, white, English undergraduates was that all of them did holiday or weekend job to support themselves – including the children of millionaires amongst them. It is the norm over there – regardless of how wealthy their parents were. And I soon discovered that virtually all other foreign students did the same, except status-conscious Nigerians.

I also watched Richard Branson (owner of Virgin Airline) speaking on the Biography Channel. To my amazement, he said that his young children travel in the economy class – even when the parents (he and his wife) are in upper class. Richard Branson is a billionaire in Pound sterling. A quick survey would show you that only children from Nigeria fly business or upper class to commence their studies in the UK. Foreign students from other countries don't do this. There is no aircraft attached to the office of the Prime Minister in the UK. He travels on BA. And the same goes for the Royals. The Queen does not have an aircraft for her exclusive use.

These practices simply become the culture which the next generation carries forward. Have you seen the car that Kate Middleton (the wife of Prince William) drives? VW Golf or something close to it. But there’s one core difference between them and us (generally speaking), they(even the billionaires among them) work for their money, most, if not all, of us steal ours.

If we want our children to bring about the desired changes we have been praying for on behalf of our dear country, then please, please let’s begin now and teach them to work hard so they can stand alone and most importantly be content and not having to “steal” which seems to be the norm these days.

We have Nigerian children who have never worked for 5 minutes in their lives insisting on flying “only” first or business class and using the latest cars fully paid for by their “loving “ parents.

I often get calls from anxious parents”my son graduated 2 years ago and is still looking for a job, can you please assist!”
“Oh really! So where exactly is “THIS CHILD?” is my usual question. “Why are you the one making this call dad/mum and not your child?"
I am yet to get a satisfactory answer, but between you and me, chances are that the big boy is cruising around Abuja with a babe dressed to the nines, in his dad’s spanking new SUV with enough “pocket money” to put your salary to shame. The girls are probably trying to shame Paris Hilton in profligacy. It is not at all strange to hear a 28-year old who has NEVER worked for a day in his/her life in Nigeria but “earns” a six-figure “salary” from parents for doing absolutely nothing apart from being their child.

I see them in my office once in a while, 26-years olds with absolutely no skill to sell apart from a shiny CV, written by his dad’s secretary in the office. Of course, he has a driver at his beck and call and is driven to the job interview. We have a fairly decent conversation and we get to the inevitable question- so, what salary are you looking to earn? Answer comes straight out – N250,000.00. I ask if that is per month or per annum.

“Of course, it is per month”
“Oh, why do you think you should be earning that much on your first job?”
“Well, because my current pocket money is N200,000.00 a month and I feel any employer should be able to pay me more than my parents.”
No wonder corruption continues to thrive. We have a society of young people who have been brought up to expect something or everything for nothing, as if it were a birthright. Even though the examples I have given above are from parents of considerable affluence, similar patterns can be observed from Abeokuta to Adamawa, Mushin to Maiduguri.

Wake up mum! Wake up dad! This syndrome – “my children will not suffer what I suffered" is destroying your child's tomorrow. You are practically loving your child to death. A word is enough for the wise!

Are rich parents really over-indulging their kids?
How much is too much?
What's your opinion?

Finepaparazy:
This tutorial explains step by step how to add your web
site (as a web app) to the Google Chrome Store.
I suggest you also read: benefits of adding your web site
to chrome to get an idea about the Chrome app store and
the multiple benefits gained by making your web site
available through the store.

<u>Preparation/u>
Make sure that before you start the process you have the
following items ready:
1. You need to be the verified owner in Google
Webmaster Tools for the site you want to add as a
web app in the Chrome web store. If not <a href="http://Google.com/webmasters"> Verify Your
site first.</a>

2. An icon of your web site. The size should be 128×128
and the format png. The filename of your icon should
be “icon_128.png”

3. A description about your web site. Try to be brief but
specific. Why should someone add your web site to
Chrome? What kind of services do you offer? Etc. The
limit is 15000 characters.

4. At least 2 screenshots. Can be either 1280×800 or
640×400.

5. Very important: You also need 2 promotional images.
One should be 440×280 and the other 920×680 in size.
Try to make your promotional images attractive so
that users will click on it and if they like it, add it to
their Chrome.

}
}
}</i>

<code>1. Change the NAME and DESCRIPTION to match your
web site details, as well as URLS and WEB_URL.</code>

2. Save the file as manifest.json

3. Create a zip file with name myapp.zip that will contain
your icon file (icon_128.png) and the manifest.json
created above. If you are using Windows the easiest
way to create the zip file is to select both items in
Windows Explorer, right click and select SEND TO – >

PoliticsRe: Angry Letter To The Nigerian Youth-- Nailed It by bosunjohns(m): 8:59pm On May 25, 2015
electropiz:
Angry Letter to the Nigerian Youth

By Bayo Adeyinka

My dear Nigerian Youth,

I am very angry and that is why I am addressing you. You are the source of my anger and I want to vent my spleen- maybe not at you directly- but at the arrogance of your ignorance. Of all nations of the world, you are to be most pitied. Do you still wonder what you have done?

You don’t have an Ivy League education but with the little below-standard education you got, all you could do with it is to write a petition against someone with the benefit of an Ivy League education. You can’t even run your personal economy as you’re almost always and perpetually broke yet you arrogate to yourself superior knowledge about the nation’s economy.

You sit in front of a computer and rant all day through social media but with every click, you make money- not for yourself- but for Mark Zuckerberg. With every megabyte of data you spend complaining and maligning, you make stupendous bucks for Etisalat, Glo and Airtel.

Over the next two years, the number of Nigerian millionaires will jump by 47% but most likely you will not be among because you are too busy whining and complaining. And yet about 60% of Nigeria’s 170m population are below 35 years. Oh, what a waste!

By the way, Mark Zuckerberg was 19 when he started facebook. Africa’s youngest billionaire, Ashish Thakkar, is 31. He escaped from the Rwandan genocide and relocated to Uganda where he started an IT business. Collin Thornton, who made his millions by fixing bad computers and setting up Dial-a-Nerd, is 35. Adam Horowitz, an 18-year-old entrepreneur, started 30 websites in 3 years before he became successful.

The only thing you have ever started is an online petition. Have you heard of Jason Njoku? He’s 33 and the founder of Iroko TV. He received $8m investment into his company just a few years ago. What he does? Sharing the same Nollywood films that you spend hours to watch online. He didn’t just hang around waiting for Buhari to make something happen or blaming Jonathan for not making anything happen.

Kamal Budhabhatti was deported from Kenya but while on the flight, he thought of the opportunities in Kenya. He found his way back after 6 months and today his company is valued at $30m. He’s 36. Have you heard of Chinedu Echeruo? Apple just paid $1b for his app. He’s a Nigerian like you and all he did was attempt to fix a problem.

But for you, the only thing you attempt to fix are your nails- and your hairdo! Chinedu moved to New York in 1995 and found it difficult to navigate the city with ease so he developed HopStop to fix the problem. Stop listing all the problems- we know them already but what are you doing about them?

Awolowo was 37, Akintola was 36, Ahmadu Bello was 36, Tafawa Balewa was 34, Okotie-Eboh was 27 and Enahoro was 27 at the time of independence of Nigeria. In 1966, the first coup was led by Kaduna Nzeogwu (29) and stopped by Murtala Mohammed (28), TY Danjuma (28), IBB (25), Sanni Abacha (23) and Shehu Yaradua (23). It brought in Yakubu Gowon as Head of State at 32 and Obasanjo at 29. You are in your 40s and you still sag your trousers.

Of course you know Linda Ikeji. You’ve spent hundreds of hours on her blog laughing and commenting while she smiles her way to the bank. She’s just built a house for her father in the village- just by you clicking on her gossip and sharing. Your day is not complete without a stop by at her blog. She was as broke as you are but she turned a hobby into a business. Are you that void of understanding?

You think the politicians have any regard for you? That is why I referred to the arrogance of your ignorance at the beginning of this diatribe. You have a false estimation of yourself. You have an over bloated ego. You are only as good as an election ticket- pure and simple.

You are only good to used and discarded like a used ballot paper. Who keeps a used ballot paper anyway? That is why they only remember you every four years. You are like a menstrual pad that is only useful during the menstrual period. Are you hurt? Okay, let me help you. Have you heard of Prof Olusola Adeyeye before?

He is a Senator of the Federal Republic at the moment. But before he became a senator, he was popular on facebook. Even more popular than so many latter day facebookivists. I was one of his many followers. He put up posts after posts and pander to populist thinking. Then he was elected and one of the first things he did was to deactivate his facebook account. Yes, you read me right. Deactivate. How many times do you still see El-Rufai’s tweets? No longer regular? That is how it will dwindle until he disappears totally. I’m not limiting it to the aforementioned alone and this is not about any party. They are all the same.

Yet you falsely believe your future is in the hands of one politician. You will grow grey hair with that belief. And by the time you wise up, you’re on your way to the grave- not with a life expectancy of less than 60 years in this clime. Can you see you have wasted your time? And possibly your life? See, people have been complaining since independence. And they will still complain in 4 years. Will you be among them?

I agree with my friend who said Nigerian youth need mental detoxification. And maybe I should add that you need a brain transplant. Let me give you another example. I’ve watched you try to pull some people down when you don’t like their face- or their comments. You report them to facebook. And they get pulled down. Momentarily. Just momentarily.

Do you know why? Facebook knows those people draw traffic. Their posts get huge numbers of comments. And with every comment and click, someone is making money. Will you allow your best customers to leave? That is why though facebook pulled down Adeyinka Grandson’s page, he was given a facebook fan page in return. Yes, a fan page. You need to get a job and you need to get a life. There is life away from facebook or social media.

If you’re not making money from social media and you sleep on it, you’re merely existing- you’re not living. I have seen some of you take selfies and pose in all manner of ways as you paste your photos on social media. Are you a photographer or are you selling something that we don’t know? You’re unemployed because you’re unemployable. You don’t have skills. Sorry, the major skill you have is that of pointing out the problems and debating about them. That’s a no brainer! You can’t even diagnose the problems properly.

You think Ngozi Okonjo- Iweala is your problem? You are a self-inflicted problem. You are afflicted with yourself and by yourself. If you’re looking for the reason why you are the way you are- look no further than your mirror. Instead of occupying Nigeria, you should occupy your brain. The only witch chasing you from your village is you. It’s time to stop bewitching yourself.

Stop whining about lack of electricity or fuel. Do something about it. Every adversity has a seed of opportunity embedded in it. Create something. Invent something. Start something. Read up a book. Write a book. Take advantage of the present situation. Nigeria is a huge market. Nigeria is a virgin market. Waiting for you. Unleash yourself. Release your passion. Follow your potential. Invent your way to prosperity. Stop waiting for government- government only needs you when they need your taxes. Don’t depend on welfare. People who depend on welfare don’t fare well.

You think you lack capital? No, the problem is not lack of capital but lack of ideas. Just today, two men stepped into my wife’s office selling the new portraits of Buhari and Osinbajo. That’s someone grabbing an opportunity and seizing the moment. I have a friend who started out by offering after-school lessons to kids on her street- now she has a school.

I know a lady who was indigent and self-sponsored on campus. Each night, she soaked beans and made ‘moin-moin’ in the morning for sale on campus. I bought out of the moin moin as well as some other students and that was how she paid her way through University. Not prostitution. Have you heard of Ayodeji Megbope? She started her business with the last N1,000 she had on her by making moin moin. She is the CEO of No Leftovers.

I have shared the story of ‘Akara Ayo’ and invited him to talk to us before. He left his banking job to start a business frying Akara (bean cake) in Ibadan. And added some innovation to it.

Start a snail farm. You can start it with less than N100,000. I started it with nothing- I just picked up snails in my compound and raised them. In a couple of months, I had raised close to a thousand. You have a car and you are complaining you don’t have a job? Convert it for car hire. Take it to the airports and see how people will hire it for the day. Liase with good hotels and place it at their disposal. I met a young man in Calabar who charges N1,500 per hour for the use of his car. There is something in your hand that can give you the future you want. The best moment to start is now.

For God’s sake, just do something!

NB: This is just an article to stir up and challenge people and it’s intention is not derogatory in any form.

here are few ways
1. Import stuffs from China you can tripple you 100k in one month but it will require persistence and skills
2. Invest and wait but this one will take months and the yield is usually small
3. Buy cheap things and sell online

I have done it before and still doing it, Eg you can ship things from China for less say 2 dollars which is 400 naira and you can sell it here for 1,000 or 1,500
Like i said its a skill you will have to develop, look for what people will buy fast, negotiate with the clients even when you see a fixed amount, I have NEVER Bought anything from China without negotiating when when they boldly write 5 dollars i will give the merchant a mouth watering offer that i wanna buy plenty then i end up buying for 3 or 4 dollars, making my profit margin high.

EducationRe: Universal Concept Of Mental Arithmetic System (UCMAS) by bosunjohns(m): 10:37am On May 19, 2015
agborodun:
Universal Concept Of Mental Arithmetic System is a skill development program that aims at bringing out the best in every child. This program originated in Malaysia and now is spread out across more than 60 countries and over 3 million students' word wide owing to the fact that UCMAS produces tangible results in children enhancing their creativity, concentration and confidence.
In today's competitive modern day and age it is utmost necessary to create a platform for children to enhance their brain development. UCMAS abacus mental arithmetic programs are designed to mobilize the learning imitative of children to reach faster, think deeper, understand deeper and in turn assist in the retention of the lessons taught in the school. Mental Arithmetic is a form of calculation that does not involve the use of any physical or external gadgets / instruments such as a calculator or a computer. The calculations are solely done by human mind using mental power. To achieve this, UCMAS utilizes an ancient Chinese tool called the Abacus. The children are taught to calculate using the abacus by mapping the beads to numbers in their mind and the calculations are performed by moving the beads accordingly. This way, through continuous practice, the children register the numbers as images in their right brain and eventually can perform mental mathematics at exceptional speeds without the help of the abacus and their speeds are faster than that of electronic calculators.

I watched the UCMAS Quiz on TV3 today and I was amazed at the way children of between 4-10 solves complex mathematics without using any calculator. Who has heard of this before?
Its so wonderful.
see the picture of how the children solve maths with their fingers in this link. I really wish this come to Nigeria.

Its all about getting downloads & I can see that the "source" for which we get the material to be downloaded is what is causing this conflict. You can download videos directly from sites(base on theparticular niche) and upload them back for people to download.(Not as yours but per say you are serving as a source for people who need that video to get it) Simple. The video you create by yourself are videos On "How to toturials" which you have basic knowledge about. There's nothing too technical about it. Most of the videos upoaded by your compeititors(ppl like you who are trying to make money from PPD too) are videos which have been uploaded before. Some are gotten from Gaming forums or sources which probably created by them.
I have said it before that you can follow this routine to get hot in need videos in the Gaming niche to upload..
Visit any of this sites;
Gametrailers/com
IGN/com
Register on the sites, and you can download Game videos, save them on your system,go to your channel and upload. Simple.
And remember it is not only or a must you get downloads with games. They are also many other ways to get downloads so as to make money. We just focusing on it cause its amongst the hot niches..
IGN as a gaming forum site that has thousands of members! What about Gametrailers, hackforums etc.

So that's it. You know you did not really ask a direct question/s but I have managed to give you a feat base on your complaint. Do well to be precise and ask questions on where you have problems or really don't understand next time okay?

2.Never mind the bogus payments to airlines for currency distribution

PoliticsAdeboye To Pray For Buhari, Jonathan In Abuja Tomorrow - Vanguard by bosunjohns(op): 1:09pm On May 09, 2015
President Goodluck Jonathan and his successor-in-waiting, Muhammadu Buhari, are likely to meet the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Abuja tomorrow, during which the man of God will pray for two of them.

The event is the annual “Day out with God of Daddy G.O.”, which is taking place at the International Conference Centre, Abuja at 5pm on Sunday and to be attended by other top-ranking Nigerian political, business and religious leaders.

The event, according to the organisers, is meant to provide an avenue for Adeboye to pray for outgoing President Jonathan and the President-elect, Buhari, and his new administration, which is coming at a time of great socio-economic challenges that require the prayers and support of all Nigerians to succeed.

Chairman of the Planning Committee and Provincial Pastor of RCCG FCT 9, Pastor Akinremi Bolaji, confirmed that both leaders as well as the Vice President-elect, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, had been invited to the event and that there was indication they would attend.

“This year’s edition of the Day Out with God of Daddy G.O. is another opportunity for Pastor Adeboye to prophesy into the lives of Nigerians and provide an opportunity for the outgoing and the incoming one to be prayed for by the man of God,” Bolaji said.

Other top politicians expected at the event, are the Governor-elect of Benue, Dr. Samuel Ortom, who is a deacon in RCCG, Senator Binta Garba from Adamawa State, Senator Remi Tinubu and the Zonal Pastor of FCT 9 , Kehinde Agboola, who has just been elected into the House of Representatives.

Pastor Adeboye has asked Nigerians to support Buhari with unceasing prayers so as to be able to surmount the huge challenges that lie ahead of his government.

Adeboye will be flying into Abuja from Jos, the Plateau State capital, where he has been holding Workers and Ministers conference over the weekend.

RomanceRe: My Best Five Engagement Proposal Ideas by bosunjohns(m): 12:43pm On May 09, 2015
TheInkheart:
There is something every girl looks forward to apart from her wedding ceremony and that is her proposal, the time the guy will show up with the ring and pop the question. Thanks to the many Hollywood movies, girls don't want the traditional and boring way of proposing to the girl; you know where your mother will be his mouthpiece and will have to inquire if you will marry him on his behalf, lobatan, you are engaged. Every girl wants the fairy-tale kind of proposal that will have tongues wagging and skins turning green with envy for a long time and then have it featured on weddingdgest, bellanaija and co. I, for one will want the modern and more romantic form of proposal because it shows the extent at which a guy will/can go to just to convince you he wants to spend the rest of his life with you.

These modern ways of proposing are very good but if care is not taken, it can turn out cheesy, boring and you may end up looking as if you are trying too hard to please. Because I am a die-hard romantic, I have put together my top 5 proposal ideas. Some of them are somehow expensive but for a girl you love and wants to settle down with, no amount of cash is too much to show her you want her and only her. Note that you have to really put into consideration what your girl loves to do or enjoys the most when planning the proposal.

1. The Traditional Way With A Modern Twist: if she's the mummy/daddy's angel kind of girl or she values family time a lot, she will really love this. Plan a little family get together but inform the parents of your intention to marry their child. At the family dinner, let the father make a little speech about both of you. While he's at it, her sister or brother (it will be so much sweeter if the sibling is still young like 3-8. If she doesn't have, you can always use her favourite cousin, niece or nephew) will come in with the wedding ring and your own younger sibling it cousin or nephew almost the same age will come in with a placard that has something really cute written on it. You can use the regular "Will you marry me?" or use something else like "we want you to be a part of our family, please marry my brother/uncle".

2. The Dinner At Sunset: I love watching the sun set. There is something beautiful about it that just makes it so romantic. If you can get a building with an open rooftop, it will even be more beautiful. Get the rooftop set for a romantic dinner for two. You can hire a wonderful chef to cook her some of her best dishes but if you are a good cook, it will be awesome to do the cooking yourself. If you can afford it, get an artist (you don't have to go as far as hiring Davido them but someone who can sing beautifully from your church choir will do so as to save you money) who can play the guitar. If you can't, your iPod+speakers will do the trick. As she sits down, the musician starts to sing her favourite love song (if you both have a special song, this will be perfect) or play the music and then you go on your knee. This is simple and also very romantic. I like this because it's just both of you enjoying the special moment. You can do it your own style. This proposal is very very versatile

3. The Beach Affair: this is my second favourite proposal idea. I often daydream about being proposed to this way. You can take her to a private resort for the weekend or just a normal day out at the beach or get her friends into tricking her to come; it all depends on how you want it done. Early in the morning or in the evening is the best time for this as the weather is cool and calm. You can just write the will you marry on the floor and kneel down beside it but this is how I love the beach kind of proposal. If you've brought her to the beach on a weekend cruise, buy her a lovely dress (the kind that suits the environment), put a note beside it telling her to wear the dress and meet you where you are going to pop the question. Hire a musical band to spice things up if you can afford it. As she gets close to you, recite a beautiful poem for her. You may have friends and sisters over if you like. When you are done with the poem, go on your knees and pop the question. You can use sea shells to write it on the floor.

4. The Loud And Expensive: if you have the money, this is a super romantic way to propose to your bae. You can do it at a musical concert where you pay for the organisers give you the chance to ask her to be your wife in front of thousands of people. You can do a billboard proposal. Just get her to go out with you, form minor problem and while you are trying to find a solution, your pictures starts showing on the billboard and then you look to him only to find him on his knee. You can also do it at the cinema. Take her to see a movie except she won't be seeing a movie, she will be seeing your pictures and the big question on the screen. You can even go church with it. Propose to her in church on the altar (I have never seen that but I think it will really be cool).

5. This 5th one, I can't even think of a perfect subtitle. It is my favourite kind of proposal because it is just what I love. It reaches deep within your soul and it's just so magical. Singing to me is one of my weaknesses. When the right person sings for me, I just practically melt (I hope future boo is noting this). I just want to wake up one glorious morning, to find rose petals on the floor. Then, I will trail the petals only to lead me to where he is. He will be sitting on a chair looking all handsome and regal. He will call me to him and I will sit on his laps. Then he will sing to me. As he sings, he will slip the ring on my finger. Sigh, I too like to dey imagine. Petals, candles and music is just the perfect touch to any proposal. Another one like it is coming home from a hectic day at work and as you enter, you find different notes with sweet words on them. As you get to the bedroom, you meet rose petals, wine, chocolates and another note telling you that a bath has been prepared for you. You see more petals on your way till you get to the bathroom and sweet smelling candles lit around the bath. And as you are soaking and enjoying the awesome bath, he comes in singing to you. And then just when you think that's all, he goes on his knees to propose to you.

And those are my best 5 proposal ideas. Please use the comment box to pick your choice and drop your own favourite proposal idea. Who knows, someone may just need that idea to propose to his woman.

WebmastersRe: Is Your Website Mobile-friendly? Check Now. by bosunjohns(m): 2:04pm On May 08, 2015
BizBooks:
A few years ago, I contacted Seun and pointed out what I thought was a design flaw on Nairaland. He replied that it was not a design flaw and added that Nairaland was designed that way primarily to accommodate users on mobile phones. Fast forward to 2015 and it appears Google has adopted the same philosophy.

As you may have heard, effective April 21, 2015, Google began using what they call the “Mobile-Friendly Criteria” in ranking web pages. They define a mobile-friendly page as a page that does not require mobile users to pinch their screen to make the text bigger or scroll side ways. Simply put, if your pages are not mobile-friendly, it will adversely affect your page rank. As we all know, nothing is more important than a good page rank. It can make or break a website.

Making your website mobile-friendly is not a very easy task. I say this because it is not as simple as fixing the home page or updating a CSS file. Rather you have to fix all the pages on your site or at least the ones you want to rank high on Google. To begin, you have to do the following:

1. Identify the pages on your website that are not mobile-friendly. You can do this by pasting the URL of each page on this Google link: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/mobile-friendly/.
If Google considers the page mobile-friendly, then no further action is required.

2. If your page fails the mobile-friendly test, Google will usually tell you what they think you should fix. Adding a Viewport meta tag usually solves all the problems. So do that before trying to fix anything else. This can be done by adding the following HTML code in your page Header:
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1">
(this must be in the header not anywhere else as far as I know):
After adding the Viewport meta tag, test the page again. If it still does not pass, continue fixing other parts of the page as suggested by Google.

3. One thing that can cause your page to fail the test is over-sized pictures and images. While doing some testing, I noticed that pages with pictures greater than 350 pixels in width were frequently failing. The solution to this is not to make your pictures 350 pixels or less but rather to enclose the image inside a div tag whose width is set to a percentage of the full screen width. For instance, instead of this:

<img src="images/Tiger.jpg" width="720" height="540">

you should have:

<div style="width: 100%;">
<img src="images/Tiger.jpg" style="width: 100%;">
</div>

This will now make the picture fit any screen it is rendered. If you do not want the picture to fill the entire screen, you can reduce the width from 100% (as in our example) to 90, 95% or whatever percent you want.

As I said earlier, making your web pages mobile friendly is not an easy task. But it is a task that can no longer be postponed. It has to be done now if you want your site to continue ranking high. If you know of other shortcuts in achieving this task, please let us know.

NOTE: Apart from the Google link referenced above, another resource to use to see what your site looks like on different mobile devices is mobiletest.me (but always use the Google link to check if your page passed or not).

P.S: In case your are wondering, some of the big websites in Nigeria including Nairaland and LindaIkeji passed the Google test.

FamilyRe: 10 Things Every Pregnant Wife Needs From Her Husband by bosunjohns(m): 11:10pm On May 07, 2015
me:
Pregnancy has been a serious time of learning, adjusting, and embracing. Here are 10 things every pregnant wife needs from her husband.

1. Respond to the announcement of the baby and gender announcement appropriately.

Your reaction to the initial announcement that your wife is pregnant means the world to your wife. When we found out we were pregnant I was equally as excited as my wife. The challenge came when we are about to find out the gender of the baby. I can honestly say I thought we were having a boy.

I remember the look on my face when we found out we were having a girl. I had to quickly adjust in order to not disappoint my wife. This is such an important moment for her, so she needs to know you are just as excited as she is! This is all a part of the journey.

2. Tell her she is beautiful and mean it.

Your wife is going through a lot of changes and with those changes comes a hit to her confidence. Hearing you are beautiful from the man she loves more than anything is something that will keep her heart secure in your love.

3. Start interacting with the baby.

The baby is developing inside of your wife, which makes it really hard for you to feel connected to the baby like your wife is. This is why you must make intentional steps to interacting with the baby. One thing I would do each night after my wife falls asleep is hold her belly and pray over my baby girl. This really helped me to start interacting with her.

4. Massage every part of her body, especially her back.

This right here will make her fall in love with you all over again. This should be done at least one time every day. Take sometime and ask your wife where she would like a massage, and I guarantee you will have one happy wife.

5. Don’t take it personal.

Do not take the things that may come out of your wives mouth personal.

6. Adjust to her changing love languages

During pregnancy, the way your wife receives love will change. Try out different things to continue meeting her needs.

7. Learn what is happening in her mind and body.

Read books that will help you better understand what is happening in her body. I subscribed to a pregnancy app that sends me emails each morning with a new tip and update on where my wife is in her pregnancy weeks. This helps in our conversations, and even when we are at doctors appointments.

8. Go to all doctors appointment.

I was late to our first appointment due to work and the look on my wife’s face when I arrived was something I never want to see again. Your wife wants you at every appointment, so make every effort possible to be at each one.

9. Let her sleep.

Your wife will experience a strong drain of energy. Take up some extra responsibilities around the house in order to allow her to rest.

10. Be patient and enjoy the journey.

Pregnancy is a journey and if you can be patient with your wife along the ride, your relationship will be come stronger than ever. This is the preparation time for entry into one of the most rewarding seasons of your life.
