audio: You are right about this. audio: This is not about seeing them P Square, M.I or whoever for that matter (who even cares if they were absent?). BET Awards sucks and that's it. Any real and deep music follower would know how suck the BET Awards is. They call some names and you want to puke! You don't need too much research to know Dizzie Rascal don''t just deserve the award. A guy, regardless his previously 2 "make-sense" albums, recorded an unofficial world cup track and it became a world wide success; even Coca-Cola (Not coca-cola Nigeria or Coca-Cola, South Africa) took the joint as the soundtrack for their World-Cup advertisement. That's K'naan. And that's an International Act. Correct me if I said it wrong. As a matter of fact, it is now difficult to get the original version first written by Knaan as the internet is filled with the edited version and various remakes, various features in various languages. That's an International feat. http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=TxmEd9lcn0k . . . performing with the original unedited release http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=amXeJrA-wDc . . . featuring Will.I.am and David Guetta http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8__lUfx7zdo . . feat. David Bisbal http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=apeVbw02nzc&NR=1 , Feat. nancy Ajram http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=nB7L1BIDELc , Young Artists for Haiti. (this is the best version featuring drake, avril lavigne and i guess kardinal offishal and lots more) Only one record which has achieved this re-recording and re-production to different languages comes to my mind right now, and that is We are The World by MJ and Lionel Richie This particular award shows how myopic bet awards is. |

Music/Radio / Re: Album Track Listing For AFrican American *ALBUMS DROPS JULY 30 2010* by bouzymill(m): 5:53am On Jun 30, 2010 |
The best he could have done is to record fresh materials and choose maybe 4 or 5 from these really old tracks to be added as bonus tracks. It's so painful when his fans wait for an album for like 6 years and all they got afterall is what they've been hearing for years I'm not a fan of his but for real, minus all the hates and all that, He should have recorded alot of fresh materials that would have made up for all these years his fans have waited. You can add "a year" single to your album not joints that have been on for ages. Put em on the mixtape and leave it at that. For Instance, Wale has been recording alot of joints way back before he got signed and when he brought out his debut album, he didn't release his old joints in the album, you have to come out fresh. African American - (the title is just something else) |

04kaa: i HEAR YOU OOOOOOOOOOOO. . .. Na ME BE "SMALL CAT". Na ME DEM DEY E-BULLY. Anywayz, @The post Maybe M.I is known throughout Africa or P Square is known all over the world, the point is they still have a long way to go and things can always be different when you are outside the domain you rock. They should be humbled by the nominations and know that if they can be nominated, they can win. Making the nominees list shows to them, they are the hottest (in the eyes of BET) in Africa ad that's enough for now. . . They should keep doing it for the reason they got into it at first. . . It's going to happen anyhow one day. |
Music/Radio / Re: What Ever Happened To The Bet Award For Psquare,mi Etc by bouzymill(m): 7:53pm On Jun 29, 2010 |
rapjunkie: Pls oooo. . . bouzymill did not say that M.I's appealing music means MI should have won the award. Even in my post, i said Knaan should have won the award. The Mi and Dizzie Rascal comparism is reffering to Dizzie Rascal's kind of music. If it's appeal = award, then corrine bailey would take it over MI (my opinion) |
Music/Radio / Re: What Ever Happened To The Bet Award For Psquare,mi Etc by bouzymill(m): 1:51am On Jun 29, 2010 |
I KNOW DIZZIE RASCAL SO FAAKN WELL. TO ME, HE DOESN'T COME CLOSE K'NAAN AND CORRINE BAILEY RAE. Infact, M.I's MUSIC IS MORE APPEALING TO THE EARS THAN HIS. BUT CHECKING OUT THE STANDARD BET IS LOOKING FOR I THINK WHO SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN THE AWARD IS KNAAN. HE IS TH ONLY INTERNATIONAL ACT OVER THERE. HE'S GOT POSITIVE SALES IN BOTH AFRICA AND NORTH AMERICA (DON'T KNOW ABOUT ASIA). DEFINITELY, IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN K'NAAN. |
Music/Radio / Re: Video: Mode9 - What U Want Feat. Mo'cheddah by bouzymill(m): 8:40pm On Jun 27, 2010 |
Genuflect: You are right about the role of money as per the director. It's just that I'm very sure the little money he used can still produce something better. . . I'm sure he would improve on this anyway. ~Sauron~: this is exactly my poiint about the director and the video. Alabai made a good video with lesser money because his director is very good. there are people who can make quality low budget videos, it's not a must you go to DJ Tee or Clarence Peters. that's what they should know. |
Music/Radio / Re: Video: Mode9 - What U Want Feat. Mo'cheddah by bouzymill(m): 6:27pm On Jun 27, 2010 |
04kaa: Genuflect: I think i understand what you people are saying quite alright from the beginning. . . "below expectation" is what it is. . . I just don't give in to the term wack like the video is nothing. . . @Genuflect. . . In reference to M.I's video, what made the video is not about the money. . . but the concept of the director. tosinaded@: I've known you from the days of skingo. If it's not Saucekid, it's nobody. . . you don't have anything positive to say. |
Music/Radio / Re: Video: Mode9 - What U Want Feat. Mo'cheddah by bouzymill(m): 2:32pm On Jun 27, 2010 |
eldee: This guy vex oooooo. Out of all I said, the only thing that was painful to you is "some people still live with their parents". I dont even know you. So how the hell am I suppose to to be throwing the jabs at you. there are more than ten pseaudonyms here and you chose to inhale my "air" for your personal breathe. Why? For real I'm not even hear to make personal jabs to anyone. i just got frustrated with the way people just move in with already biased minds. What really triggered what I wrote wa that someone somewhere said he's hasn't seen the video but he was so sure it's crap. and that B.S. to me. I have criticized Soulja Boy, Yes I have. Infact, a whole lots of them. I'm not saying you can't can't criticize anybody but when it comes to preference on Who Did something as against The thing itself. If it was another artist that did the video, people would say the video is ALRIGHT but now that it is MOdenine, It is WACK. why? eldee: What exactly is your problem with "minimalism". I said they wanted to make it that way but they pushed it too much. minimalistic concept in art and design is making sense these days. . . your point number 4 lacks coherence. what the Bleep are you saying 5. once again, criticize who you wanna. But don't have a predefined or preformated mind on issues. Anywayz, on the real, Mr. Eldee, no one is directing jabs at you. For all that it is, I always enjoy your arguments mainly because you always try to refrain from personal abuses (like some people do) and hold your stand on issues. Y'all were more on the video is WACK, it's not crisp and not just a quality video. you guys made it look like it was shot with a digicamera, that's why i said There are wacker videos. Don't crucify MODENINE. Free him for once. @Java. . . Brother, How do you does |
Music/Radio / Re: Video: Mode9 - What U Want Feat. Mo'cheddah by bouzymill(m): 11:44am On Jun 27, 2010 |
Genuflect: Believe what you see and I'm sure what you see is that he ain't doing bad. I'm sorry I mentioned career, you don't have one yet. What you have now is music interest. Get out of the illusion. When we talk about wack videos, you always think it is about money. That shows the sorry a.ss direction your brains are. 9ce made a debut album that sold (as they say) millions of copies, he did about three or four videos (after people have waited long enough) and all of them were just wack. Maybe 9ce doesn't have enough money tooo!!! |
Music/Radio / Re: Video: Mode9 - What U Want Feat. Mo'cheddah by bouzymill(m): 9:18am On Jun 27, 2010 |
Genuflect:Who the F.ck are you. I' not sure but I think you "rap" too. how many of your joints have made it to the radio Do you even have one wack video to your credit you are just a man visible in the mirror of his words, tosinaded@: Is it you or the way you think? I said Alujo's video is wack, not the joint itself. Plus i gave my own personal review of the "Modenine's video" to be too minimalistic videos and I still put it that there are wacker videos out there. what part of that is too difficult for you to understand Ok. The video is wack wack and wack. Does that sound better Simpletons. |
Music/Radio / Re: Video: Mode9 - What U Want Feat. Mo'cheddah by bouzymill(m): 1:29am On Jun 27, 2010 |
I think the video is alright. Not too tyte for me but I got the concept. Something like "naija celebrity spoof". My own opinion about the video is that, they wanted to make something minimalistic, but they pushed too much on that, that it almost lost actions and all the supposed sh.t. But you know there are "wacker" videos out there and you just don't have to crucify this because it's Modenine. And also, I don't really think Good videos rely on money as some are putting it here. I think it is more on the concept and the director. Money would buy you great location and all that, but it won't buy you concept. I heard "OD' shot his video in South Africa, and that sh.t is still wack to me, I'm very sure the money Modenine used to make this video is still enough to make a better video. So, let's just stop talking about money like Modenine is a down ass pauper who can't feed himself. He's been on his own for quite some time now, and I don't think any rumour made it to the magazine that he's not getting his hands to his mouth. Besides, over the years that we've been on this NAIRALAND, there was never a time he was homeless. He lives in his crib and pays his own bills and ever since he keeps popping up to the top spot while most of you still live with your parents (y'all know yourselves" He has come out with his own school of thought, if you're not with him, then free him, and let him run his shows the way he wants, those who like him would follow, We all come on this Nairaland and make our so called "opinions" like whatever we say is law. We all come here to criticize their career while they feed on those criticisms to move to the top, Modenine is poor | Tuface lied about R.Kelly collabo |Tuface didn't do sh.t with MJB, etc." Why don't you ask yourself, "Have I achieved half of what these guys have achieved in thier lives?" am not saying we all should go into music, but look at your chosen career, are you the best in it? Quit over emphasizing sh.ts all because you want to present your critique. But anywayz like I'Technique says, "for every beautiful damsel, there's a man that bleeps her like a bitch". . . Even the best artiste of all time has his/her own haters. You can call me a stan. . . but what it is, is what it is. I know the truth has been injected already. |

eldee: Ahhhhhhh, That's something about most revolutionary artist or even writer. They show you why someone is bad even when the person in question is sen by everyone around as the best. Hence giving you another direction of judging the person. Example is Fela's description of Shagari as the most dangerous in African Leaders. I was watching the interview when he presented his reasons, I was liike yeah. yeah. yeah. whatever, but you know, that stayed in my mind even till now. that's their ways. Immortal technique do say some things I dont agree to, especially when it comes to religious themes and all that but I just like him because I actually know he's intelligent. He actually studied Political Science, though I think he dropped out. eldee: that's really cool. . . He's not really known cos his niche in underground hiphop is not just what people are feeling anymore. and these people are just in love with what they do, they won't switch their style for nothing. bgees: Dead Prez!! Word. that's the truth. Let's Get Free - Classic Album Get Free or Die trying - Got the mixtape but I have never heard one track Can't sell Dope forever (with Outlawz) - "Fork in the road" - One of my favourite in my best "20" Dead Prez too, |

Krayola: it will be stupid for anyone to claim that people not making conscious music are uninformed. That is wrong. Music is not always about politics. There are two two school of thoughts in music. one says MUSIC should teach and the other says Music should entertain and also there's a school that supports the two. The main point is good music is good music, politics or no politics. This post is about HipHop political perspective and that's why we are leaning towards that, |
Music/Radio / Re: Who Is Carrying The Political Torch In Hip-hop Today? by bouzymill(m): 5:09pm On Jun 19, 2010 |
eldee: I am not saying everyone in hiphop should be political. . . The post is about POLITICAL TORCH IN HIP-HOP AND THE CONTEMPORARY TORCHBEARERS and I said we don't have much of that anymore because of the reason I stated (lack of knowledge. eldee: CNN was just a figurative language for political consciousness, not to be interpreted literally. History of blacks in the US and other black nations is boring without the politics. Everything that happened is connected to politics. And that's the mirror through which they see the world. eldee: You are the first person that would tell me IMMORTAL TECHNIQUE is not intelligent and that sounds kind of absurd because this brother is INTELLIGENT. period. THERE IS REALLY NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LEARNING FROM SCHOOL AND WIKIPEDIA. THEY ARE BOTH PROPAGANDA, What you see is what you get. that's the best way to learn. |

She rolls with em Talib Kweli (Blacksmith Movement) and had collaborated with 9th wonder in various projects. I think she got three or more ablums to her credit. Attack the Attacking things and . . . forgot the title of the albums, |
