Nothing happens to you, matter of fact stop paying tithes.
Tithing comes under the law, and you were redeemed from that law through Jesus.

Please i would like to know, and if there is any biblical reference(s) of not paying the full tithe. Is it that there is no reward for it at all or God will just bless you in proportion of the percentage you are bringing.

Imposable it say's Melchizedek has no history no-past no family,no parents, and yet Jesus had a history a past and a family a earthly Mother and Father God in heaven.

They cant be the same spiritual person. maybe the name Melchizedek wasn't really a man' but a name of a priesthood.

Was not John the baptise from that same priesthood, was it not John who baptised Jesus.

If Melchizedek was a man, others say he was Jesus, I wonder how the bible would sound.

Think about this, instead of John baptising Jesus, wouldn't you think' it should have been Melchizedek?

Hebrews 7. It was the order of Melchizedek not the order of Aaron, and Aaron was the priest that year.

For the priesthood being changed of necessity there is a change of the law.

For he of whom these things were spoken belongs to another tribe, which no man has officiated at the altar.

Does this say: Jesus is not from that same tribe as Aaron?

Is Melchizedek from another tribe?

it is evident that our Lord rose from Judah of which tribe Moses spoke nothing concerning priesthood.

And it is yet far more evident if, in the likeness of Melchizedek there arises another priest.

So now it says "Jesus" is in the likeness of Melchizedek, so they are not that same person.

In our day's we have priest-preachers-pastors and teachers, do they not all come under a higher priesthood?

And again are we all called by God, as a body. Some pastors some teachers Etc..that makes us many, didn't God adopt us as sons and daughters, like he did with our fathers in the O/Testament.

Even our Father God don't match up to be Melchizedek, God had a Son.

Genesis 14, King of Sodom went out to meet Abram at the Valley of shaveh {that is the Kings valley.}

Abram was already blessed by God, and from the spoils of war paid tithes to the priesthood-Melchizedek as king of Salem.

It was King of Sodom who said: Abram, give me the persons and take the goods for yourself" Abram said: I have lifted up my hands to the Lord God Most high possessor of heaven and earth, I will take nothing that is yours, lest you can say I have made Abram rich.

If Melchizedek and Jesus were the same persons then I ask why did "Abram" lift up his hands to the Most high God in heaven.

You believe "Jesus" and "Melchizedek" are one.

It say's in John 14:7-9 If you had known Me you would have known My Father.
V's 9 He who has seen Me has seen my Father.

Think about it, Abram would have been wasting his time lifting up his hands to heaven when Melchizedek as Jesus was somewhere close to him?

You will read in Hebrews 6:19-20that Jesus Christ, after His resurrection, is High Priest "after the order of Melchizedek." The plainer English of the Moffatt translation words it: ". . with the rank of" that is, equal status with "Melchizedek."

First, notice from both Old and New Testaments that the man of mystery, Melchizedek, was a priest of the Most High God. Turn 'low to the account in Genesis 14. During the war between a number of ancient city-states in Canaan and Mesopotamia, Abraham's nephew Lot had been captured. He and his family and goods were carted off.
One of their number escaped and brought the news to Abraham, who armed 318 of his own servants and pursued the invaders to what was later named Dan and beyond. Abraham rescued Lot and his family and returned them safely to the Canaanite cities.
On Abraham's return a man of mystery bursts upon the scene. Abraham was ministered to by Melchizedek.
Here is the account:
"And Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was priest of God Most High. And he [Melchizedek] blessed him [Abraham] and said, 'Blessed be Abram by God Most High, maker of heaven and earth; and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand!' And Abram gave him [Melchizedek] a tenth of everything" that is, a tithe of all, for a tithe means a tenth ( Genesis 14:18-20, RSV).
Notice that Melchizedek was king of Salem. That is the city of Jerusalem. "Salem" comes from the Hebrew word meaning " peace." That would make Melchizedek the "King of Peace" ( Hebrews 7:2). The Hebrew name Melchizedek itself means "King of Righteousness" ( Hebrews 7:2). The same individual is mentioned in Psalm 110:4. Speaking prophetically of Christ, David stated: "The Eternal hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek." This verse is quoted again in Hebrews 5:6, 10.
Before we turn to Hebrews for the identification of Melchizedek, remember that this mystery figure is a mystery only to us. Abraham and the King of wicked Sodom knew exactly who he was. They must have seen him before. He could not have been a Canaanite, for they were steeped in pagan customs. And furthermore Canaan was a descendant of Ham, whereas God basically chose the descendants of Shem to accomplish His work.
Then who is the mystery man Melchizedek?
One other hint before we proceed. The land of Canaan from ancient time, before the days of Moses, was known among the Gentiles as "the divine land" the Holy land" the land of the place of worship!" Why? Was there someone in the Holy Land who was divine, holy, worthy of worship?
The Mystery Clears
Coming to Hebrews 7, we find Melchizedek identified:
"For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him; to whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace" ( Hebrews 7:1-2).
Since God names individuals what they are, that, then is what this man is.. "King of Righteousness."
Think of it! King of Righteousness.
Jesus Himself said: "There is none good but one, that is, God" ( Matthew 19:17). Human self-righteousness is, before God, as filthy rags. None can be righteous but God—or one made righteous by God's power—Christ in a person! And certainly none but One of the Godhead the divine Kingdom of Godwould be King of Righteousness. Such an expression, applied to any but God, would be blasphemous. Why?
Righteousness is obedience to God's Law. Since God made all laws ( James 4:12), He is Supreme Ruler or King. He determines what righteousness is. "All thy commandments are righteousness" ( Psalm 119:172). When speaking of one of the points of that Law, Jesus placed Himself superior to it. He is Lord of the Sabbath( Mark 2:28). No man is Lord or King over God's Law. Only God could be! All human beings have sinned and broken that Law of righteousness ( Romans 3:23).
To continue with Hebrews 7. Note, too, that this man was King of peace. "Salem" from which Jerusalem was named means "peace." And remember, Jesus is called the Prince of peace! No human being could be King of Peace. Men know not the way of peace. Read Romans 3:10and 17: "There is none righteous, no, not one.... And the way of peace have they not known."
Observe further: Melchizedek was "without mother, without father, without descent," or as the Phillips translation renders it: "He had no father or mother and no family tree." He was not born as human beings are. He was without father and mother. This does not mean that Melchizedek's records of birth were lost. Without such records human priests could not serve ( Ezra 2:62). But here Melchizedek had no genealogy. He must not have been an ordinary mortal. He had no descent or pedigree from another, but was self-existent. Notice Paul's own inspired interpretation of this fact: "Having neither beginning of days, nor end of life" ( Hebrews 7:3). Therefore He has always existed from eternity! He was not even created, like angels. But He is now eternally self-existing. And that is true only of GODdeity, not humanity!
Not the Father Nor the Holy Spirit
Yet Melchizedek cannot be God the Father. He was the "priest of that Most High God." Scripture says no man has ever seen the Father ( John 1:18, 5:37), but Abraham saw Melchizedek. He cannot be God the Father, but rather, "made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually" ( Hebrews 7:3).
And there it is! In the days of Abraham, He was not the Son of God, for He had not yet been born of the virgin Mary but He was made like unto the Son of God in His manifestation to the ancients.
Notice again: Melchizedek, this scripture reveals, abides that is, remains permanently, continually, a priest. God the Father is not the Priest of God, but Christ the Son is! Yet, in the days when the Apostle Paul lived and wrote, shortly after Jesus ascended to heaven as High Priest, the scripture states that even then Melchizedek "abideth "—which means does now abide—"a priest continually." The Moffatt translation states it: "continues to be priest permanently" even while Jesus Christ is High Priest!
And notice that the order of Christ's Priesthoodis named after Melchizedek. It is the High Priest's name that is placed upon an order just as Aaron's name was upon the Aaronic priesthood. Thus Melchizedek was then High Priest, in Paul's day, and even now, and He will rule forever! And at the same time Christ was, is today, and shall be forever High Priest!
Are there two High Priests'? No! Impossible! The conclusion is inescapable. Contrary to many cherished man-thought-out ideas, Melchizedek and Christ are one and the same! Some people have stumbled on the statement that Melchizedek has no "end of life." They contend that since Christ died, He had an end of life! If that be true then Christ is still dead! But Christ is not dead. He is alive. It was not possible for Christ to be held by death ( Acts 2:24). Melchizedek would never have fulfilled His office of High Priest if He had not died for the sins of the people and risen again. It is the function of the High Priest to lead the way to salvation.
Indeed, Jesus Christ is the author and finisher of our salvation ( Hebrews 5:9; 12:2). He is "called of God an high priest after the order of Melchizedek" ( Hebrews 5:10).
And no wonder. Melchizedek and Christ are one and the same Person!

Most likely you will have to leave your church, the pastors-leaders won't agree with you, they have been twisting bible verses around so long, even they have forgotten the truth.
And the out come to that is, get ready for an argument.
We do it all the time on this forum, with people who still believe in the old laws of tithing.

I am a member of a congregation that teaches and practices tithing as one of its core doctrines. Tithing is a cash cow here and full compliance is enforced by denial of privileges to any one who consistently violates this doctrine. I had been faithful in payment, wary of the 'devourer threat' from Malachi, until the full import of the new covenant of Jesus Christ dawned on me. Now I know that the truth is being suppressed just to ensure that the congregation continues to enjoy funding through tithing. I am a sunday school teacher and already cued to teach on tithing next Sunday ,exclusively, from a handbook designed to keep the truth hidden. If you were in my situation what would you do? Leaving the congregation is not an option for me yet.

There are no more temple sacrifices' since Christ paid it all, there is no need to pay tithes, but among our many pastors there is a terrible abuse of using the tithing system to place the church back under the condemnation of the law.
The local Church does not replace the temple.
1 Corinthians 3:16-Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the spirit of God dwells in you.

Pastors do not replace the priest, preachers and teachers in the body of Christ are not priest-Christ is the only mediator.
Titus 1:11-This must be stopped-Jesus taught the church the dispensation of a better way of giving without the law.
Galatians 3:13-Christ has redeemed you from the law of tithing.
Galatians 2:21-I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain.
2 Corinthians 9:7- So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity: for God loves a cheerful giver.
Philippines 4:19-God provides all our needs without tithing.
James 2:10-For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all.

Do you follow all the laws.
Even the Jews in Israel today don't pay tithes.
Tithing was part of that law.
And those who tithed back than, and those who continual to tithe today are under that very same law..

Jesus paid full price, no-longer does the Holy spirit live in a temple made with hands, the lord had changed that old law, fulfilling it' by given each believer a closer encounter for the Holy spirit to live in each of us.
A temple body made of flesh and blood, created by God the Father himself.
No-more sacrificing for the remissions of our sins, tithing was used as a temple tax system only for the Levi priesthood, and not the Gentiles.
Since the late 1800's a demonic made law directed by Satan himself had decided to enter into our system claiming all believers should and must serve the beast.
Through prosperity preachers mainly from western counties should retrieve a money pay back guarantee for all believers being deceived by these so called men {wolves} in sheep clothing, to pay tithes-taxes, bringing your 10% cash back guarantee into the store-house, so my house-temple will be fed.
Not even in today's Israel the Jews PAY tithes.

They know the truth but they don't preach it, Why?

Here's why people are leaving you.
You know the truth but you aren't preaching it.

Your Sunday production has lost its way.
The stage, and the lights, and the bands, and the video screen, have all just become a loud noise to those really seeking to encounter God. They are an ear and an eye for an hour, but they have so little relevance in people's daily lives, that more and more of them are taking a pass.
Yeah the songs are cool and the show is great, but think about it.
We can be entrained anywhere.
Sunday morning isn't really making a difference.
From Monday morning to Saturday evening, these awkward moments when people are wrestling against the darkness and the principalities, of this world.
Until you can give us something more, than a Christian-themed performance; something that allows us space and a conversation and a relationship.
Church many of us have gone to sleep. many have stayed away.
If theirs a Church that don't fit that description, send your message around, so we can all hear the good news.

Well, there are still bible believing churches around. Its not your business if one church is going astray.. worship God according to the bible. If you feel that the church you are attending does not support your faith and ypur belief in the word of God, leave thete with your family and attend one that suits your christian beliefs. Not all of them are bad out there

1 John 3:8-10 He who sins is of the Devil.
V's 9 whoever has been born of God does not sin, for his seed remains in him.
V's 10, In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God.

"Give to Caesar what is Caeser's and to God what is God's". Paying your tithes is Entirely biblical, it's your choice to obey or not. That Jesus wasn't recorded doing it in the scriptures doesn't outrightly dismiss it as irrelevant.

1 John 4:1 test all spirits, so if you are saying the Holy spirit has told you to tithe, did you test the spirit. Because Jesus say's: Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. And if you do really believe in Christ, then you would know Jesus had paid the price in full, taken that old covenant away he made with our fathers of old, and made a new covenant making us closer to God. No good arguing with me just read what the Holy spirit is really telling you in the bible.

Perhaps we should start seeing things differently. Christianity is not synonymous to poverty or mediocrity. Why do we think a business man who is diligent, works hard and smart deserves prosperity but not a man called to serve God, who obeys God his caller to the best of his ability, works hard and diligently, denies himself severally, grows his spiritual muscles well enough to begin to discern evil from good and becomes a principality to the kingdom of darkness?

I am a firm believer in moderation; but may i say that NO PRIEST was a pauper in Israel as long as he succeeded in keeping Israel in the path of righteousness. So, every laborer is worthy of his wages.... It is not easy to be a shepherd.

I have said the above on behalf of called shepherds and faithful ministers. It is however not unlikely that some called themselves and are not concerned about the sheep. For such, we should learn from the story of the sons of Eli. One shouldn't judge a man's servant for him.

Lastly, with respect to tithes payment. I will advise that we all read the scriptures and act based on the understanding the Holy Spirit gives to us since he's the teacher. Meanwhile, i have resolved to pay it not because of anybody but because Peter in 2Peter advised that i should study the Prophets and adhere to their teachings. Since Christ commissioned Peter to feed me in John21, i accepted Malachi3 from Peter through prophet Malachi. This is personal though.

We should let faith be the guiding factor; without faith, it is impossible to please God.

Back in the Old testament people would follow the law on tithing, sacrificing and give an offering for the remissions of these sins yearly.

Romans 6:23 clearly says: Jesus had paid the penalty for our sins, for the wages of sin is death.

But these day's we hear of prosperity preachers and pastors twisting these old laws, not sacrificing, but choosing to walk against Christ, by twisting and turning these verses leading God's people away from the bible, these preachers are proud knowing nothing but is obsessed with disputes and arguments over words, from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions. useless wrangling men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that Godliness is the means of Gain-{Money} FROM SUCH WITHDRAW YOURSELVES.

These preachers are known as wolves in sheep clothing who will twist and use the bible as a tool to retrieve only monies.. Get away from them, they are leading you to Hell.

1 Timothy 2:8 Men and Women in the church, Therefore I desire that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands without wrath and doubting;
In like manner also that the women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with propriety and moderation, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing.
But, which is proper for a women professing godliness, with good works, let a women learn in silence with all submission.
And I do not permit a women to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence.

{Many of today's women preachers are prosperity preachers} leading large churches, building their kingdoms on earth.
And God's people sit back allowing the Antichrist to change this new doctrine.

1 Timothy 3:This is a faithful saying: for if a man desires the position of a bishop-{Pastor-Preacher-priest} he desires a good work.
A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober minded, of good behaviour, hospitable, able to teach.
Not given to wine, not violent, not GREEDY FOR MONEY, but gentle, not quarrelsome , not covetous. One who rules his own house, well having his children in submission with all reverence.

{For if a man does not know how to rule his own house how will he take care of a Church}.

1 Timothy 6:17, Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, READY TO GIVE, WILLING TO SHARE. Storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold of eternal life.

Can anyone name a church that follows these laws

A court hearing, could stop a revolution, men of corrupt minds destitute of the truth who suppose that Godliness is the means of Gain.

One can't fight this alone without prayer-are we "not" the body of Christ.
Did Jesus "not" say we come up against the principalities and against the darkness of this world.

A high court may open a door for God's children to "believe" the truth.

You say: The only thing done away with in the O/Testament are the sacrifices.
Hebrews 8:1- We have such a high priest, who is seated at the right hand of God.

First of all, it might interest some of you to know that Reverend Chris didn't always believe in tithing. As the first son in the line of many pastors across generations he gave tithes in obedience to the teachings he received in AG but when he became a Pastor himself in the late 70s and early 80s he taught members of his then church on the out-datedness of tithing. He believed it had been done away with by the ushering in of the NT and he taught so to all and sundry. He also taught on the fear factor that he was sold on while in AG into tithing. The Pastors always made references to curses for not doing so and he responded to such fear. Subsequently, as he began to study further by the instructions of the Holy Spirit he saw the importance and scriptural basis behind tithing and he has taught so ever since to tremendous results.

Now I said all that to say this: it is not impossible that at the earliest stages of his teaching on these things maybe he still infused a part of the fear factor that he got from his time in AG. I am saying this because the link referred to audios and tapes which means this had to be a long time ago. I can say without flinching that I have never heard him relate non-tithers to any curse neither have I seen him teach such in the last 15 years. So it is very possible that the folks who decided to re teach the issues on Facebook used old tapes or maybe they just infused their own ideas into it.

But just like he said one who doesn't tithe is setting up the persons self for financial strangulation and that is not a curse. That is just explaining the consequences of someone's actions or inactions to them. For example, when God told Adam that if he ate from the Tree of the knowledge of good and evil he will surely die. God wasn't placing a curse on Adam. He was simply showing him the consequences of his disobedience. In the real sense what God did to Adam was a form of tithes because he allowed him to eat from every other Tree but he instructed him to leave that Tree untouched and Adam disobliged and faced the consequences.

It is the same way God told the Israelites to use the blood of a lamb to mark the doorposts and lintels so that the destroyer will passover them. Sure, the children of Israel were God's people and he was trying to protect them. So I am not amiss if I say such a person is setting up himself for financial strangulation and I am not placing a curse on him.

As per the firstfruits, I will have to do more investigations to be certain Rev Chris said "God will take it from you it you do not give". I have never heard him say so. My understanding of the principle of firstfruits is on this thread and it is all in relation to my putting God first. I have never seen it as something I had to do nullify any curse of any sort as what anyone calls firstfruits can be subjective even from the bible. I have a Pastor friend who gave his first year (not month but year) salary as his firstfruits. I never did so and I have never heard him teach so as a doctrine of any sort. I actually cringed to see that statement on that Facebook post and I will do well to investigate it thoroughly to be certain that those words were used. Every single month I give more than 25% of my income to my extended relatives and other Church brethren. That gives me more blessing than tithing.
