I wouldn't know about that...

Don't know the meaning of a " better hope"
I didn't write it, it's in the book.

The hope of an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time, is it written. Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

What do you mean by “the law”

What do you mean by “the law”?
It's a good question.

Biblically speaking, first the law was, "Of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil thou shalt not eat". The punishment for disobeying was death, but it turned out that law had no teeth as it it was rather unenforceable in the end.

Next came what we read as the Ten Commandments, though prior to then there were rather many do not do's or learn from's in Genesis like Cain's do not kill, and Abraham's do not sacrifice your own child, or sleep with your own daughter etc.

I guess from there it exploded into Numbers and Leviticus with laws controlling every aspect of the being, though that too was found wanting as we humans tend to have minds of our own as was found out in Eden, hence the continuous evolution of laws from long before Eden up until today.

By "the law", I mean that which points to conduct which benefits the human race and extends its existence on the land that the Lord hath given to it.

This is what the wise psalmist said is going to do the upgrade..

“The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭19:7‬ ‭KJV
Part, upgrade. For here is much later.

"For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God". Hebrews 7:19

Goes to show how wisdom evolves, and why we must continuously practise kaizen.

Ironically Russia could have had their own NATO using their neighbors and ex USSR nations but then they just keep miscalculating, everyone in that region will now go and arm themselves against Russia's aggression
They oppress their own people, so their neighbours whom they also previously occupied and oppressed don't want none of them.

I don't think everyone will go waste money on arm's when Ukraine is showing ordinary machine guns in the hands of its people is enough to stall Russia and it's nukes.

If Russia nukes anywhere, a la Hiroshima, even Russians will revolt, and the West sure can't retaliate with a nuke on poor Russians.

Interesting times are ahead, that's for sure.

He was casting words hoping they stuck without considering what he meant.

Imagine claiming a God we all can clearly read, "saw that it was good", creates imperfections with the "capacity to go wrong" out of necessity.

If my cook or mechanic rationalised the same way I'd either crash or be food poisoned.

They will have to fix up after this especially Germany, their role in Russia becoming an unhinged aggressor annoys me, no serious nation will watch this and allow themselves to rely on others for security, the world will be armed to the teeth after this I believe
In some imaginary future post Putin dream world, Russia seeks to join NATO and EU, who would love access to investing in Russia and thereby weakening the oligarchs, and China.

This is not an arm's war but an economics war.

Necessity, is the mother of invention, hence why you are the reason, God, to start with, created and left an imperfect world
'God created an imperfect world because God had to create an imperfect world because the human God created had the "capacity to go wrong"', NNTR?

Surely you can do better than this, in simpler words too, if you tried harder.

Can a God have a necessity? Does it hunger too?

Seriously, what the fk is it with you and always claiming I post things in my diary because I don't want to be challenged? What the actual FÛCK?!

It is a satirical page.

If you want to argue satire, go there. Anita's Hall of Social Justice and Internsectional Feminism on FB. You can take a minute to branch to Babylon Bee website too. There's plenty for you to get mad about. Even Donald Trump claimed he's a transwoman some time ago, so America has finally had her first female president. No need waiting on Harris or some other woman. The milestone has been reached.

The diary section is the way it is for a number of reasons. I created a diary, and I choose to post things I like and find interesting in mine. smiley It should not be coming from you buda, calling me a coward for that. It shouldn't.

Have a nice life.

sonmvayina:
In one breath you make a valid point in another ,your ignorance is laid bare.
My assessment of you is that you are tormented by the written words because you don't understand the message that is conveyed within the story or it might just be your usual self. I never for once said dwell on the written words but the message they convey. And I went further to say the jewish belief and the igbo belief are exactly alike...
I think Okonkwo might not have cursed his son if he had believed what his son was being taught by missionaries who came to Mbanta but perhaps Achebe is not Igbo enough to know "jewish belief and the igbo belief are exactly alike".

Have you not heard of syncretism, and then read up historical instances of it happening, son? I myself was in awe when I saw the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Assumption of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary into Heaven.

The messages that are conveyed within the stories are all for the same purpose, sonm, and are expressed very well in a book that can be considered to be the book that follows the New Book that followed the Old Book that came out of Egypt.

Human beings, We created you all from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes so that you may know one another. Verily the noblest of you in the sight of Allah is the most God-fearing of you. Surely Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware. Surah 49:13

And to cure being "tormented by the written words" which results In the constant pissing at the wall of my god is better than your god, which is really, my beliefs are better than your beliefs, or worse, my stories are better than yours, is why we have the New Testament where we all can clearly read it written that those who read one book alone will become and remain ignorant.

Those who understand the message that is conveyed within the stories will not bushelize. They will convey the message within the stories so their fruits shine like Lights on Hills.

Bushelize. To cover ones light in muck so one shines not as well as one could shine.

Good luck with mining a straw man, hence my reason for striking out your post, as YOYO.
As in, may I continue to ask and knock and seek for understanding? Amen.

BassReeves:
You have no idea the effect of what one single act of obedience could cause. Smh as I lqtm
Disobedience to what? To the things I read in a book or to what I am told what I read means?

Is it not true that not using ones mind to ask and knock and seek is the greatest disobedience?

BassReeves:
The reason why Genesis 2 God downgraded the food and the task given to Genesis 1 humankind is because of 'cause and effect'
So, you accept that there was a downgrade between the "The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it", and the human "God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth”?

Good. We shall call that progress. It's why I've waited so long to respond too, so its implications might sink in

Jesus was not put in a Garden. He is by all account definitely a dominion over the entire world sort of person, least going by my understanding of what I read about him, so why would anyone's Christianity be the sort that enslaves one in Eden, Bass?

BassReeves:
'Cause and effect' changed the status quo from the moment, things fell apart after the centre could not hold an longer, post eating the fruit from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.
And that's your reason, Bass? What you posted there is enough to convince you so you think it should convince me too?

Explain how the downgrade that happened before the eating of the fruit was due to the eating of the fruit, please.

BassReeves:
Shedding more light on the intricacies of 'Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil' merism, is not within the scope of why this thread was created by OP, so I will pass.
The op does not need to give you permission to demesmerise your own mind and go beyond imaginary barriers of cherubims with flaming swords or fear you may die if you ask and knock and seek.

As for your passing, note the wise word of the person quoted below please.

BassReeves:
lqtm. How can you say, never mind, when in fact, our lives are shaped by own mind. Learning never exhausts the mind, except one is .... We become what, with the mind, we think.

Quite a lot of the resources, we need in life, are in the mind, so yeah, thank you very much, I would mind. lqtm
BassReeves:
One can never go beyond the barriers of their mind, lqtm, you won't be out of mind, because I'll won't just keep you in mind, I also will, remember you in my prayers
The purpose of learning about Christ the Logos is precisely so you learn you can and do go everlastingly beyond those barriers that you set up in your own mind, Bass.

The Fed’s official yardstick for inflation, the “core PCE” price index, which excludes food and energy and is the lowest lowball inflation measure the US government produces and which understates actual inflation more than any other inflation measure, spiked by another 0.5% in January from December, and by 5.2% year-over-year, the worst inflation spike since April 1983, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis today.

There wasn't even any meddling, a people's revolution is what these guys are calling western manipulation, if Obama was meddling in Ukraine he would have moved in once Putin seized Crimea
America does not need to move in to meddle. We already know Biden's involvement in Ukraine through his son. That is very high level access to influence if not meddling and manipulating to your advantage as opposed to that of another.
