The irony!!! grin grin grin grin grin. John 1;1 was a reap off from lord plato
Of Philo of Alexandria, to be precise. Though more of an evolution in understanding than a reap off.

John's leap was so profound that his claim that "He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not" holds very true. Unfortunately, John obscured it even further by calling the Logos "He" and "him" such that many worship Christ instead of seeking to understand the very wise Words he preached.

The day will come when the Logos will truly become God though people will wrongly believe it and bow down and worship it as many already do instead of seeking to understand the Word. Then will we eventually be able to do greater things than he did and say "Nepa be Light" and no more live in darkness.

1. Lagos is not heaven or America. But it's the best in Nigeria and exposes you to anything that is available anywhere in the world.

2. 130k is ok if (a) you are not paying rent or u don't mind stayin in slums or staying far from ur work place. A single room from Ojota upward is 120k to 180k (you will pay more than double that amount the first year. .
(b) food and transportation. You will spend 26-45k on transport every month. (c) traffic. Depending on where you are working, you are likely to leave home by 4 or 5am and get back by 10pm. Though BRT covers almost everywhere in Lagos now. Hence reduces the burden of traffic. But it's not a substitute for traffic.

If he stays in rural areas in Ikorodu, he will get a single room at 60k. Self-contained at 135k, 2 bedroom flat at 350k. These figures will double in d first year. D problem is your job will most like be outside Ikorodu. Hence falling into the trap of 4am to 10pm.

On the bright side, he has the opportunity of getting a better pay job in Lagos than the 130k that is bringing him over. Finally, if u want to live a gentle life, stay in ur location. But if u want to push your career and live in the fast lane, come.

If he us single, he could share the rent with a roommate. Some companies offer accommodation. Others offer lunch. But he will need a thick skin. Imagine coning home by 10pm after u left by 4am? The next day, u repeats it.
I love the fact you bothered to analyse as you've done. Its detailed and very informative.

Just that bold bit.

All you people in Lagos let me never hear say you are unemployed or looking for work because you've read it here you have the "opportunity of getting a better pay job in Lagos than the 130k that is bringing him over"!

Anyone without a better paid job already must please contact the person quoted.

Perhaps we need to accept that it is we ourselves who are kidnapping and killing and coming for ourselves instead of blaming it on fulanis and martians from out of space. Then might we decide to come for the bad ones amongst ourselves and root them out from amongst us.

As for the lies about election integrity, they (the GOP) have successfully destroyed the legitimacy of post election attitude in the US. It is working for them now, let's see how it will be when the opposition borrows that line in the future, then we can test the strength of the "unity" of how United the States in America truly is.
Trust me, they destroyed nothing but strengthened the integrity of elections. Next US elections will have even greater participation than the last one.

I am already documenting all the millions of dead people I plan to raise up to vote so that next time not only would they be looking for bamboo on paper but also for the River Ganges in the ink!

They could have impeached him for the fast and furious scandal. He tried to derail the house by claiming executive privilege and when they went to court he withdrew the executive privilege. Republicans still decided not to impeach him and instead let the people vote.

Before trump wasn't even the president yet but dems have started saying they want to Impeach.
They could never have impeached Obama! If they could, they would have, but see as you yourself say he backtracked like a smart intelligent person should on what they might have tried to impeach him on lol. If trump had done the same, their efforts to impeach him would have died on arrival, but trust trump to never backtrack when he is shown to be wrong, and for that was he impeached, twice!

Good for you. But you miss the point yet again. My point is not about if You were deceived or not. I was talking about how the media played a role to convince people why Iraq should be invaded.

It is not about you or me.
You are missing the point. You assume you are talking to a child who believes, or is convinced about the medias role in deception. Yet, if you bothered to check you'd know belief is buda's one single bête noire. What's unfortunate is many people rightly refused to believe the media then went in to believe that lying toerag trump!

I so love Eve for that specific reason, and adopt her as my role model. Instead of believeing she would die on the day that she eats of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, she plucked the fruit and ate as a true use your own senses to check scientist would, and found it good for gaining wisdom, and her eyes opened, and she and her Adam were freed from slavery and became self employed and the rest as we know it is herstory, though many ignorantly believe and peddle the story of stupid ignorant Adam. And to convince themselves of their belief, many will claim Adam whom they read lived another 800 or so years as a free being till he was 930 years old and then died, died on the day that he ate. Now tell me if that's not kraken on steroids, or do what most do and accuse me of worshipping a talkong serpent.

You and many others might have been deceived by the media, or the interpretation of a book as is the case above, but Christ was not joking when he is written to have said humans must not just listen to media or politicians or they will become ignorant. You must research every bit of information available, he said, after mud has been rubbed in your eyes and you have bathed in the Pool of Siloam so that you may see. That's how you don't get deceived, benalvino2. You seek and ask and knock with all your heart and soul and mind and being until you discover the truth.

The media got their reporting about the war from the politicians who deceived them. They failed woefully at their duty of informing the public, and if they refused to learn, we must at least learn. Good thing is a lot of the media did learn or they would have believed trumps incessant lies and fed us all kraken, and instead of admitting you were gullible to believe them, you'd be here now convincing yourself we all just gobbled it up despite the fact that many of us here were telling you it was crapen.

I suggest you go read some Chomsky, or Orwell's 1984 if Chomsky is above your level. It might help you understand we are not all equally yoked.

I'm bothering to say all this because we will soon be electing another Nigerian president. Many will believe the crap our politicians sell us without bothering to check the facts, then they'd be here wailing irresponsibly for another 4 years when the person they voted for does the opposite of what they voted for.

P.s. I am watching Boardwalk Empire. The opening scene is a politician giving a supporting speech to women against alcohol. Behind him is the poster below. He finishes his speech to much acclaim then goes off to get drunk and LovePeddler and the next day does a deal for 500 cases of bootleg alcohol. "One must never let the truth get in the way of a good story", he says. I say, believe media, or politicians or priests or books or buda or anything at your own peril. Or use your mind Emancipate Yourself From The Slavery Of Ignorance!

Apologies for the religion!

With the way the GOP is going, they will hurt the United States in the long run.
Na, they won't hurt the United States a tiny one bit.

They may suffer for a while, and must if they stick to this drain they are in, then sensible people will take over the Gop and we might be here rooting for them over the Dems if the Dems do not live up to our expectations and hopes.

That is how democracy educates and helps societies evolve.

1: I don't remember ever saying I am not bias. Infact I usually say the opposite. I usually say we are all bias. My reason for saying budaatum was partial was because the time I said the media all deceived us both the leftwing and rightwing media he still tried to make it about left vs right when that was not the case.
Do not let your own bias make you believe we were all deceived. As a wise man once wrote, "all may be equal, but some are more equal than others", though I think he was talking about animals on a farm.

If you go back and read what I wrote you'd find that as far as the Iraq War is concerned, left wing me was not deceived by any media nor even by my own left wing Tony Blair government, which is why I was on the streets opposing the war at the time and suspended my subscription to the left wing Labour Party.

Some of us are far too critical to have ever believed in the kraken, be it from media or a political party or even a party we are members of.

The truth which the brother is not trying to admit is that we all are hypocrites in one way or the other. Denying it defines one's level in it.

Second thing he doesn't see is that "all humans are impressionable". Everything we do or how we think must come from something that exists, either by being analyzed by the media or by us personally.

For the case of Trump, one with opposing views doesn't need a media to pick a side, he is good at making enemies whenever he opens his mouth to speak, even till today.

Can you imagine him making jokes with the covid issue? Who does that? Not even the president of Nigeria that is seen as weak and wicked did that.
Any good person should see that Trump failed in that aspect in a woeful manner, this in turn united neutrals against him in the last election.

The GOP on the other hand, it will take a lifetime
of different technologies to analyze how they operate.
I will pick Lindsey Graham as a case study. This man is the worst of them all.
I wonder how he is at peace with himself.

Finally, the media and Democratic party will always have things to say and campaign with against the GOP because they are their own enemies whenever they open their mouths.

How we blame the media for interpreting what they say instead of trying to talk them to be more smart with their words is something that I cannot talk about because they have their rights to whatever they want with their lives.
McConnell wouldn't vote to admit trump caused Jan 6 riots but immediately afterwards shamelessly says, “The mob was fed lies. They were provoked by the president and other powerful people.” That's a level defining statement if ever I heard one.

I think a rationale person will choke if they are in front of the telly with their impressionable child hearing a President of the United States talking about pussy grabbing or claiming they can shoot people on New York streets and get away with it. The last election showed he can't get away with half a million dying on his watch. It would be a betrayal of the dead missing at anyone's dining table if they voted for trump, but some can't just understand that, yet I bet if a member of their tribe was killed by the insecurity in Nigeria they'd yell, damn buhari, and not sai.

Funny people, is what I think. More amusing than telly, but sad.

I've seen your arguments here and I want to commend you for your civility, but what I noticed about your assertions is that you accuse others of being biased of the same things you do.

You feel people hate Trump because of the media, which is wrong. Trump acted foolishly like he was a god, he never cared about the consequences of his words, which you and I know that politicians will capitalize against him.

My boss loved Trump before he became president, but I saw him talk negatively about him afterwards because he saw that Trump was too stubborn to operate like the POTUS.
I'm talking about one who travels to and from the US frequently.

Now, I fault your opinion about bias because you are also bias.

You would not believe it, but you do not have the requirements, despite your "graduated with 2.1".

Graduated with 2.1 is like saying you can run 100m when some are running it in sub 10 seconds, and to make it worse for yourself, instead of training to run faster you are blaming the Nigerian track for your inabilities.

Then see how you describe yourself as a "charted accountant member"! I mean, if I read that on your cv I would toss it in the pile I toss secondary school graduates because it shows how little you really do know and how little effort you are likely to put into any job I hire you for!

I am being harsh on you, I know, but life itself is harsh that way and you must try much harder please or you might find yourself qualified as a Chartered Accountant still without a job.

May the Lord remake you with your help.

I do not think the title means much, though the use of Mrs gives the impression of marriage, which is not true if you are divorced. If you use Mrs it will be assumed by some that your husband is Mr maiden name, is all.

Here is an explanation in detail.

If your divorced husband's name is on your official documents you can of course use it. It could be on your certificates for instance, or drivers license etc, if you got them while married.

I would suggest you legally revert to your maiden name however, and have your ex-husband name bearing documents changed or affidavit supported to show they belong to new named you.

Since the purpose of a divorce is to excise him from you, what's the point of still being chained to his name?
