afroniger:Imagine! Life is so bad he wants to be sold, yet I bet he's not useful for anything. |
TheSourcerer:You bloody believer! ![]() |
Spy360:'The only theory that satisfies you', you mean. Not everyone is so easily satisfied or too lazy as to not go about knocking and asking and seeking in order to learn more especially since Christ taught you to do science as in use your senses to ask and knock and seek. |
TheSourcerer:That's like a plate of rice with dodo and assorted meat and vegetables and a chilled bottle of odeku randomly appearing on the table before one. How can everything be random if it depends on what led to it? Do note that scientists never claim to know how it all began. The fact is however that a bang that is big can not just randomly happen since something has to exist to go bang. And before you assume I'm saying God said, "let there be a big bang", even God would have had to evolve from something and evolve something big to make go bang. |
Awunliandvictor:I finally watched it and what I got by the end is not so much that living in a village abroad is not easy, but how much work is required to put food on the table. The family you showed clearly recognise that "through painful toil you will eat food from the ground all the days of your life" and "By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground". So they did "be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the face of the earth”, and by the spread on the table by the end one can clearly see they are blessed with food in abundance. Yet, I wonder if they are not even Christians, as the prayer at the end sounded like one you'd say for conversion. |
plaetton:No, Catalan and Scotland do not have the right of self determination. They are both parts of sovereign states that have signed up to the United Nations Charter who are refusing them that right, even to negotiate. Your point however, that they have the right to agitate, as in request for self determination, is indeed correct, so long as in their "agitation" they do not destroy the peace or can be perceived to have done so in any way whatsoever. I have the right to stand on the street and agitate for buda republic until I begin to annoy people. Sánchez and Cuixart, who both espouse nonviolence, are now sitting in jail cells at the Soto del Real prison in Madrid, held in preventive detention, without bail, on charges of sedition against the state, which carries a maximum sentence of 15 years. |

Penguin2:I'm sure a smart businesperson will ensure their revenue does not drop to the point that they'd need to abandon their business before it goes bankrupt. Just see how quickly the proposed super league was abandoned because of those so called tantrums. Why did the English teams drop out? It appears they were taken aback by the strength of criticism (tantrums, you called it). Arsenal apologised in an open letter to their fans and said they had "made a mistake", adding they were withdrawing after listening to supporters and the "wider football community". Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy said the club regretted the "anxiety and upset" caused by the proposal. Manchester United said they had "listened carefully to the reaction from our fans, the UK government and other key stakeholders," in making their decision. Super League: Why have the plans collapsed? |
plaetton:From what you've posted you can see it's an ongoing debate that countries need to resolve by themselves, and not a right as has been suggested. If that were not the case, Catalan would be a separate country from Spain already, as would Scotland from the United Kingdom. |
|
Jdbrasco2:If only you would bother to educate yourself instead of yelling "Nonsense". https://www.nairaland.com/6534010/police-arrest-25-pro-yoruba-nations/3#101320941 Do let me know when you get this so called human right please. |
buckeyemedia:Your "subject to" makes the Nigeria’s Constitution of 1999 (As Amended) the master of the UN Charter, which I don't kind if feel you mean. Do you mean the other way around perhaps? As to value. We been giving it value since 1999, I would have said. Or don't we vote according to it, and do those we elect not tax us and spend our money anymore, as well as make the existence of some miserable according to many on here? |
femi4:I do not think there is agreement on how moons are created so claiming one trumps any other is more akin to claiming a god belief is the only valid god belief. After the sun spun to light, the planets of the solar system began to form. But it took another hundred million years for Earth's moon to spring into existence. There are three theories as to how our planet's satellite could have been created: the giant impact hypothesis, the co-formation theory and the capture theory. |
Penguin2:What did the protests against the proposed super league achieve? What have past protests against club owners achieved? We can study history to find out. Funny enough, I am battling against protests elsewhere, lol, but I suppose the circumstances differ somewhat. |
If the above is what you posted and got banned for they must have found you incomprehensible. |
femi4:Ta for this. And there are many other "according tos" such that believing any of them is no different to believing God done it in six days and rested on the seventh or Obatala said moon be and moon became. |
Johnrake69:Yes, my father and mother did sign me up to be Nigerian. If they had been from somewhere else, they'd have signed me up to be from there instead. And succession is not the self determination the UN Charter guarantees, you will find. https://www.nairaland.com/6534010/police-arrest-25-pro-yoruba-nations/3#101320941 |
obyrich:Nigerians, obviously. |
BuddhaPalm:Not just time, but intelligence and wisdom too. I just do not see us being there yet. Words we write on paper matter a lot we will eventually find when we do get there, and instead of agitating on the street we will agitate with our pens on paper on election day. Just hope someone offers you seccession then, though I very much doubt anyone would. |
plaetton:Its not that simple, you'd find. The greatest agitation for self determination in the history of Nigeria led to our only civil war, but I doubt the United Nations was on the side of the self determinationers. Self determination, as far as the United Nations is concerned, applies to colonies and not to seccession of parts of countries. Nigeria got self determination according to the UN, when we got our independence in 1960. |
For crying out loud, this is their private business acquired with personal funds. You are very wrong with the above if nothing else. Football teams are not anyones private business even if acquired with your personal funds. Your supporters are very important you'd find, many of them having supported the team for generations and at least long before you invested your personal funds in the team which included the supporters that made it worth you investing in in the first place. You will find that if you forget this little fact your investment in a football team will be worth much less than you invested and you'd eventually have to cut your loss and disinvest. |
blackmaine:It is Nigerians that are not working. Our country is exactly how we have made it to become and it will worsen as long as we remain irresponsible for the state we are in and change it. Yelling on the street is not it however, as you can see. Sorry to disappoint you. |
moneyissweet:This is a very good question, and worthy of my time. I hope you give my response the same attention. First, my parents are Nigerian and I have inherited citizenship from them and I am not one to sit there lamenting my lot like some useless loser, so, yes, I am happy to be a "citizen of Nigeria". What I am not happy about is we Nigerians, not since I first arrived amongst us in 73, no, in fact, not since before that, my eyes opening to the country just before we began our civil war. But I'll stick to 73 as my on the ground knowledge began then. To get to Nigeria, I'd traveled by boat along the west coast of Africa stopping at all the ports along the way from Europe. They were all beautiful places, smelling of fruit, rotten albeit so sweet. Then I arrived at Apapa Wharf and it just stank. I turned to my dad and asked how long we'd be staying at this disgusting port and you must just imagine how my draw dropped when I was informed this was home, Nigeria, and for the next almost two decades, I was depressed. How could a nation be this way I wondered, and after much study, I realised it was exactly how we the Nigerian people wanted our country to be that it precisely is. When I build a house, I put a wall around it and dig a soakaway as if I have anal retention disorder and need to save my poo. I dig a well gor my water and buy a better pass my neighbour for my light and do not care if everywhere else is in the dark or that my better pass my neighbour disturbs my poor thirsty neighbour. Nor do I give a flying fuq what happens on the road onto which I excrete my waste water. Can you imagine how selfish I must be to behave that way? When Nigeria me gets a job, I do not diligently do my job but think more about how to line my pocket. I call Nigeria a zoo forgetting I must be the caged animal in that zoo. My daily hope is the destruction of my nation so instead of doing that which will build it up my every act is to tear it down and then I am surprised I live in the hell I created with my own hands? Can I possibky be stupider, you should ask Nigerian me. Now tell me, how a nation of such selfish people who despite believing they must love their enemies but can't even love their neighbours can be anything but the hell that Nigeria is? The good thing is we Nigerians will tell you how irresponsible we are by blaming our leaders for the state of our nation when the street we live on is hell as if it is some leader who made my street the hell it is. And we do this in a democracy when we are responsible for electing our leaders, from amongst ourselves! Or is Buhari self elected? Did we not elect him? Oh, you might say you did not vote for him, or he rigged himself in place, but I laugh at such irresponsibility because that is what it is. If we organised and were more responsible, can we the almost 3 million Nigerians not make a difference? But see how busy we are insulting each other instead of working together to improve our nation and our lot. So, yes, I am happy to be a citizen of Nigeria. No, I am not happy about my country Nigeria, and I am more unhappy at we Nigerians who have made Nigeria the hell that it actually is. But I have faith in us that one day we will wake up and become responsible and make our nation the illustrious great nation it has the potential to become because I just can not afford to lose faith in Nigerian you and in Nigerian me. |
Mitishi:If only those boko haram would bloody stand still so they could be gone after. There's trouble in Chad after their president died and Chadians are not happy his son was put in his place so expect more boko haram trouble sadly as Chad pulls its forces from chasing after boko haram to deal with the people agitating for democracy. |
Cornpop:See how you very functionally express yourself in your opinion I suppose. I guess you are not aware an election for president is a choice one is free to make. |
RisenJoe:Really? People will abandon their God and convert to Islam because of fear of dying? Then its a good thing they convert. If their God can not save them from "refusal to convert to islam means death" they clearly need a better and more competent God. |
You have little regard for yourself or you would not be considering anyone could possibly make you abandon your own Gods for some other's Gods. |
Yorubas are not so spineless that an advert must inform us of our Gods. |
BiggyB242:You don't have to be a woman to know how it feels to be raped. You just imagine a man pulling your trousers down and forcefully sticking a priq in you against your will and desire. That's how it would feel to be raped. |
benalvino2:One would think you'd deal with facts instead of allowing the media to program you. Why not wait till Biden appoints him instead of spreading fake news? |
Imsoblessed:Aboki almajiri, you must mean. Unlike wailing hungry so blessed poor you. |
