Christianity Etc › Re: Is There A Pidgin Bible? by budaatum: 12:54am On Mar 18, 2021
Dis na di Naija Pidgin own.

JENESIS 1
God Kreate Di World
1Wen di world just start, na God kreate di heaven and di eart. 2Di eart nor get shape at-all. E dey empty and darkness kover di wota, but God Spirit dey waka on-top di wota.
3So God kon sey, “Make lite kom.” And lite kon kom! 4God si sey di lite dey good, so E kon separate di lite from di darkness. 5God koll di lite, “Day” and di darkness, E koll am, “Nite.” And dat evening and morning kon make am di first day.
6God sey, “Make di wota divide into two, so dat space go dey di middle.” 7So God separate di wota wey dey under di space from di wota wey dey on-top di space. And na so e kon bi. 8God koll di space, “Sky.” And dat evening and morning kon make am di sekond day.
9God sey, “Make di wota wey dey under di sky gada for one place and make dry groun kom out.” And na so e kon bi. 10God kon koll di dry groun, “Land” and di wota wey gada, E koll am, “Sea.” God si sey e dey good. 11God kon sey, “Make di land produce difren plants: plants wey go bear seeds akordin to how dem bi and trees wey go bear fruit akordin to how dem bi.” And na so e kon bi. 12Di land produce difren plants; di ones wey dey bear seeds and fruits, akordin to dia kind. God kon si sey e dey good. 13So dat evening and morning kon make am di third day.
14God sey, “Make lite dey for di sky wey go separate di day from di nite and make sign dey wey go show sizin, days, years 15and make dem bi lite for di sky wey go give lite to di eart.” And na so e kon bi. 16God make two big lite: di one wey big pass go shine for day time and di small one go shine for nite. God make di stars too. 17God put di lite for di sky, so dat e go dey shine for di eart 18and dem go dey rule both for day and nite. Dem go separate lite from darkness. So God si sey evritin dey good. 19And dat evening and morning kon make am di fourt day.
20Den God kon sey, “Make difren animals wey get life full di wota and make birds full di sky.” 21God kreate di big-big fish for sea and evry oda tin wey dey stay inside wota and difren-difren birds. God si sey dem dey good. 22God bless dem kon sey, “Make una stay di wota kon born many shidren and make di birds born many pikin full di sky.” 23So dat evening and morning kon make am di fift day.
24Den God sey, “Make di land produce difren animals akordin to dia kind: kattle, tins wey dey creep for groun and wild animals akordin to dia kind.” And na so e kon bi. 25God make wild animals, kattle and evritin wey dey creep for groun akordin to dia kind. God kon si sey dem dey good.
26Den God sey, “Make wi kreate human being like Awasef, just as wi bi, so dat dem go bi oga ova di fish dem for sea and di birds for di sky, plus di kattles and ova di whole eart plus evritin wey dey inside.”
27So God kon kreate human being like ensef;
as God bi, na so E kreate dem;
both man and woman, na-im E kreate.
28God bless dem kon sey, “Make una born many shidren full di eart and na una go kare for evritin! Na una bi oga ova di birds for di sky, di fish dem for sea and evritin wey God kreate.” 29Den God sey, “Evry plant wey dey bear seed and tree wey dey bear fruit, I give dem to una as food. 30Plus all di animals for di eart; birds for di sky and evritin wey dey waka for groun. Evritin wey dey alive and evry green plant, I gi-am to una as food.” And na so e kon bi. 31So God si evritin wey E kreate and dem good well-well! And dat evening and morning kon make am di sixt day.

JOHN 1
How God Word Kom Meet Us
1Since wen di time start naim di Word dey and di Word dey with God and na God ensef bi di Word. 2Di Word dey with God from wen time bigin.
3Na God make evritin and if to sey E nor make dem, dem nor for dey dis world at-all. 4Na inside am life dey and na dat life bi di lite wey pipol get. 5Di lite dey shine inside darkness, but darkness nor gri with am.
6E get one man wey en name bi John, wey God send kom dis world. 7E kom bear witness for di lite, make evribody for fit get di shance to bilive wetin God tok thru en word. 8Nor bi John ensef bi di lite, but e kom tell pipol about Jesus wey bi di lite. 9Na Jesus bi di true lite wey go shine for evribody for dis world.
10E kom inside di world wey e make my ensef, but di pipol nor know am. 11E kom meet en own pipol, but dem nor wont am. 12But evribody wey receive and bilive en name, e go give dem di rite to bi God pikin. 13Dem go bi God shidren, nor bi as dia papa and mama take born dem from belle, or bikos somebody make dem so, but bikos God ensef make dem en own shidren.
14Den di Word kon shange to pesin and e stay with us for dis world. Wi si en glory wey show sey, naim bi di only pikin wey get korrect favor and trut, wey God send kom meet us.
15John kon bigin shaut sey, “Dis na di pesin wey I tell una about sey, ‘Di pesin wey go kom afta mi, big pass mi, bikos e dey before mi.’ ” 16Evribody for dis world don receive plenty good tins from am. 17Na thru Moses God give us di law, but God give us favor and trut, thru Jesus Christ. 18Nobody don fit si God face before. But Jesus, wey bi God ensef, wey en and en Papa bi tait friend, na-im kom show us how God bi.
John Di Baptist Tok About Jesus
19Di Jew oga dem send priests and Levi pipol make dem go ask John sey, “Who yu bi sef?” 20E ansa dem, “I nor dey lie, bikos nor bi mi bi di Christ.”
21Den dem ask am, “So, na who yu bi? Abi yu bi Elijah?”
E kon sey, “No, I nor bi Elijah.”
Dem ask am again, “Yu bi di profet?”
E ansa, “No o-o!”
22Again, dem ask am, “Who yu bi sef? Make yu tell us, so dat wi go know wetin to tell di pipol wey send us. Who yu sey yu bi?”
23John kon sey, “Na mi bi dat vois wey dey shaut inside wildaness sey, ‘Make una make di road wey pipol go pass go meet God strait well-well’, as Profet Isaya tok before.”
24(Na di Farisee pipol send dis pipol go meet John). 25Dem kon ask John sey, “Why yu dey baptize pipol, if yu nor bi di Christ or Elijah or di Profet?”
26John ansa dem, “I dey baptize pipol with wota, but among una, one pesin dey wey una nor know. 27E go kom afta mi. I nor rish to luz di rope wey dey en shoe.”
28All dis tins happen for Betany where pipol dey cross Jordan River kom meet John, make e baptize dem.
29Wen day break, John si Jesus dey waka kom meet am, den John sey, “Make una look! Dis na di Sheep wey God send kom die, so dat God go forgive us awa sins.” 30Na dis pesin I tell una sey, “Afta mi, one man wey big pass mi go kom, bikos e dey before mi. 31Misef nor know am before, but I dey baptize pipol with wota, so dat God go show Israel pipol who Jesus bi.”
32Den John bear witness sey, “I si God Spirit wey kom down like dove from heaven kon stay for Jesus head. 33I nor know am before, but di pesin wey send mi kom baptize with wota tell mi sey, ‘Di pesin wey yu go si God Spirit kom stay on-top en head, na-im go baptize pipol with Holy Spirit.’ 34I don si am and I bear witness sey, ‘Dis man na di pesin wey God choose.’ ”
35Wen day break, John with en two disciple stand for outside. 36Dem kon dey look Jesus wen e dey waka pass, den John kon sey, “Make una look! Na dat pesin bi God Sheep.”
37Wen John two disciples hear wetin e tok, dem kon follow Jesus. 38Jesus look back kon si di disciples dey follow am. Den e ask dem, “Wetin una wont?”
Dem ansa am, “Oga God, (wey mean Tisha) where yu dey stay?”
39Jesus ansa dem, “Make una kom si am.”
So dem go si di place wey e dey stay kon stay with am dat day. Dat time na about for oklok for aftanoon.
Wetin Andru Tok About Jesus
40Andru, Simon Pita broda, na one for di disciples wey hear wetin John tok kon follow Jesus. 41E first go find en broda Simon kon tell am, “Wi don si di Mezaya”, (wey mean Christ). 42Andru kon bring Simon kom meet Jesus.
Wen Jesus si am, e tell am, “Yu bi Simon, John pikin, na Cefas (wey mean Pita) pipol go dey koll yu from today go.”
Jesus Koll More Disciples
43Wen day break, Jesus kon plan to go Galilee. Wen e si Filip, e tell am, “Make yu follow mi.”
44Filip na from Betsaida, wey bi Andru and Pita home-town. 45Wen Filip si Netanel, e tell am, “Wi don si di pesin wey Moses and di profets rite about for dia book sey, ‘En name na Jesus, wey en home-town bi Nazaret and na Josef pikin e bi.’ ”
46Netanel kon sey, “Betta tin go fit kom out from Nazaret?”
Filip ansa am, “Make yu kom si.”
47Wen Jesus si Netanel dey waka kom meet am, e kon sey, “Make una look! Dis na betta pesin wey kom from Israel, wayo nor dey en belle.”
48Netanel ask am, “How yu take know mi.”
Jesus ansa, “Before Filip koll yu wen yu dey under di tree, I don si yu.”
49Netanel sey, “Tisha, true-true, yu bi God Pikin and na yu bi Israel king.”
50Jesus tell am, “Bikos I tell yu sey I si yu under di fig tree, yu bilive wetin I tok? Bikos yu bilive, yu go si wetin big pass dis one.” 51Den e kon sey, “Wetin I dey tell una na true word, una go si heaven open and God angels go dey waka up-and-down on-top God Pikin.”

Christianity Etc › Re: Are Faithful Christains Saved By Work Or Faith? by budaatum: 11:06pm On Mar 17, 2021
One is unworthy.

But for the Grace of God who so loves one did the Lord God send the Messiah that one may hear the Word of God and accept Jesus Christ as one's Lord and Saviour. The acceptance of this free gift, believing, so to say, despite being ignorant about it, is indeed how one is saved aleluya amen, for one could be unfortunate to "not have much soil" or be "soil amongst thorns" on which the "word falls and is choked to death" bearing no fruit at all.

That belief you now have sown in you inspires you to seek to learn about your Saviour, which is done by reading the Bible; and the Bible being a big book, can not be read least one work at it (and I do not mean Sunday church reading, picking a chapter here and a verse there as many do, but from the Beginning to the End without missing a single word).

Reading, however, is the beginning of your work. One can read the Bible and believe it and be done as some do, but some will seek for an understanding of what they have read which is more work. And yet, by the Grace of God! For if Jesus Christ had not sent you the Holy Ghost and Comforter to minister to you, all your work trying to understand is work in vain!

You may be the fortunate who loves the Lord God with all your heart and soul and being and hence be given to understand the Kingdom of God. You will pick up your cross, so to speak, big and heavy, being made of very heavy timber as you will find when it is on your back and feel it's weight on you. But carry it you will, which is work. Because if you have done the work of building up what is commonly called your spiritual muscles, it would not only feel like Simon of Cyrene carries it for you, though when goodness and mercy works on your behalf it would seem so, for the Power of Christ in you will empower you to such an extent that you would be strong enough to bear your cross and the crosses of others too, which is what I see the likes of Oyedepo doing - not so much by giving bread which is as stone, but by making you a Fishers of People, which is what he does, teaching those who go on to establish in their own right. After all, see ye not his fruits?

Some may accuse me of claiming I have said here that "work justifies". But I would have you consider, justify in who's eye? Surely not in the sight of those whom darkness has overcome and who see not! And besides, "study", which is predominantly the work I have listed above, is not to be done where you are to be seen doing it least you be justified by your fellow humans and your head puff up or you be disturbed and asked to go and play instead. The work I have listed above is not done to justify you nor be justified by you as you are not the one sitting at the right hand of God judging the living and the dead, but to the Glory of the Lord God Almighty alone whom one serves.

Be wise therefore and fill not only your lamp but also your jars with that which moths cannot get at because you do not know the day or the hour when the bridegroom will arrive.

How naive can you prove to be!

She believes in life after death. She believes in heaven and hell. She want her children to make heaven.

Now, here you are. You don't believe in life after death. The concept of sin is foreign to you. You'll encourage your children to practice immorality as long as they do it safely and responsibly.

How would you not disagree bitterly on this? If she doesn't mind, then she isn't a Christian Or she is selfish and wicked!
So, rather than live peacefully here on earth, you expect them to be arguing about some afterlife as if they are about to commit suicide today? And what makes you think atheists can't have morals?

Op, your response sounds simple, but its full of wisdom.

Maybe the other planets are in reserve for when we completely mess up earth or become too many and need to migrate.

I mean, imagine earth's population hits 1 Trillion and the date is 1st January 2,000,021, and Jupiter just might appeal.

Have met several professionals who fell in this trap. Some made it to get papers but always complain about the years they were dormant and had to work hard for peanuts.
You ask most of them if they regret the time it took and they'd tell you the alternative of staying where they were is worse.

Laws of thought, traditionally, the three fundamental laws of logic: (1) the law of contradiction, (2) the law of excluded middle (or third), and (3) the principle of identity. The three laws can be stated symbolically as follows.

You are wrong again. US laws used to be porous but not anymore. No undocumented immigrant can get a Social Security Number and they can't get a Driver's License and they have to go through E-verify to work and if any company knowingly hires an illegal immigrant, there's heavy fine waiting for the company.
Sounds like UK.

Illegal immigration can never affect my job. I am just thinking about people if affects and that shows I am not thinking about myself. It even more solidifies the fact that I care more about Americans irrespective of their cadre.

I know what plays out and have took time to study it. The lower class feel that impact the most.

I refered you to our discussion about $15 per hour. It will only take Americans out of job in a place like Texas. 15 what?
Stop making out like you are the only one who has studied this and the rest of us are stupid.

In UK, paying less than minimum wage is illegal, period, and it is a separate crime to hiring an illegal. So if you hire an illegal and pay them less than minimum wages that's two crimes you've committed. Can you see how both laws would disincentivise you to commit the crime of hiring an illegal and paying less than the minimum?

The illegal migrant will of course be deported if illegal.

Point is, it isn't just the crime of the migrant, but that of the indigene who hires them too.

Let me brief you what you seem not to know. It's as easy as ABC to live the fullest life in America as an illegal if you avoid crime. I am telling you authoritatively that you can access anything if you have people to lead you on.

You cannot say same about the UK, Germany, Australia and Canada. The US system is very very porous.
Yes you can say the same about UK, at least, if you avoid crime, let me brief you about what you seem not to know!

I am not demonizing any undocumented immigrant. I am just saying it as it is. This I believe should be a norm and debate. I only mention the effect on jobs, health, institutions and security, but you have chosen that all this factors does not warrant tightening immigration policies. The refugee option is also on the table, and we still talking about illegal migration.

This should not be a debate and I repeat, I am not demonizing illegal immigrants but advocate for checks and balances by the government
Effect on who's job? Your job, or the job I will get when illegal me gets across the border?

Can you not see how you are only thinking about yourself here, and are even asking the illegal migrant to think of you too?

And what I am canvassing for is checks and balances. That notion permits everybody who is suffering to make the journey across the boarder.

This are points made with compassion and pity. And that pity applies to all that fall in that cartegory. Now tell me, can the system accommodate a massive influx over time, it will most definitely lead to a collapsed. Any design will collapse once over utilized, especially when you have no outright records of people coming in.

Their is farm worker Visa cartegory, Yes.. I might not know the actual name. Are this options been exploited?
Would you mind explaining to me why a person attempting to cross the border would care about your system apart from circumventing it to get into the country?

Bhudhaman, you nailed it perfectly. God bless you for that. There was a Mexican lady here about a year ago advocating for shutting down the border during the Presidential campaign just to suck up to Trump. Guess what happened to her ?. She was going through the process of adjusting her status and the Immigration office found some information about her and she ended up being deported back to Mexico. Do these guys know the amount of Nigerians that overstayed their visas in Europe and America. Imagine our friends here advocating for all these Nigerians to be deported. I guess they think only Mexicans, Guatemalans and other undocumented immigrants from Latin America should be subjected to deportation. Some of them here probably know guys that are in America illegally. Imagine if Americans were shouting about deporting all these Africans that are overstaying their visas. What's happening is that our friends are being brainwashed by the Republicons immigration propaganda that comes out of bigotry, hatred and xenophobia against colored people. You don't see RepubliKKKans advocating for deportation of those illegal immigrants from Eastern Europe.

The funny part of this immigration debate is that I know so many Africans including many Nigerians that came into the Fruited Plains and overstayed their visas and ended up getting permanent residency enroute to Citizenship. How convenient for them now advocating shutting the borders now. What would have happened if people were advocating the same thing against them when they overstayed their visas as they are advocating against those trying to better their lives. People will do anything to get their families out of poverty and I am not in favor of illegal immigration but it's what it's knowing the history of America and the geographical location of the United States.
It's the selfish act of pulling up the ladder after they've reached the top. Those who've climbed up are the harshest at keeping others down.

For the religious warriors, abortion is a gateway drug. Once they ban abortion, they can move on to ban the pill, then IUDs, diaphragms, and even condoms. After that, women can be returned to their "proper" role as chattel.

Amber, the GQP doesn't care about families with mothers. They only care about controlling women. That is why certain states allow convicted rapists visitation rights with the children they made unwilling women conceive.
