Romance / Re: Long Lost Love/ The One That Got Away by busygirl(f): 2:10am On Mar 17, 2011
There was a particular guy I was crazy about in my SS2.  I  loved him so much. For him, I looked forward to school, to lunch breaks and weekends often seemed very long in my eyes. We had been friends since JSS1 but all of a sudden, we grew very close in SS2. We exchanged numbers and talked for long hours late every night. We both knew we had feelings for each other, even though it was very obvious in my eyes. People teased me about being his girlfriend and matched our names together. He is igbo and I, a Yoruba girl. I dreamt each night about getting married to him and becoming a semi-igbo woman. lol! Even though we both knew what was happening, neither of us was saying anything. In my SS3, a rival came into the picture. She also liked him and he knew it. I guess he was loving the attention and I got jealous. One day, it was just the two of us in an empty lab, then he asked me, Do you like me? I really did but was too shy to admit and so I said NO. Kai, I blew my chance  cry sad. I mentioned the other girl's name out of jealousy and said, she likes you. So, he was like o.k. Weeks after, I noticed we started drifting apart and his attention was on the girl. I was shattered and broken and was not happy at all. I then promised myself not to speak to him, unless he spoke to me. It was killing me because each time I saw him, I knew I loved him. Towards the end of our WAEC, we started getting close again. Finally, WAEC finished and we exchanged confessions over the phone but it was a bit too late to get anything started. We stayed in the same town,  and everyday I prayed I ran into him. Since then, up till now, I have not set my eyes on him. Although I have his facebook and he is on my bbm list, things are not certainly the way it used to be. He has moved on and so have I. So, we are just friends.
Nairaland / General / She Needs Help by busygirl(f): 2:52am On Mar 13, 2011
I am not sure where to post this, please do forgive me if it is not posted under the right section. These days I have varied states of moods and can't seem to understand myself anymore. I don't stay happy for long and I am totally confused about myself. I am still trying to figure my person out but I am not making progress. Please what can I do, what sort of questions do I need to ask myself?

Finally some one understands smiley smiley I have been weeping for the past few days because the marks I am getting is not what I want even though I didn't fail. Romance / Re: Can A Man Love A Woman And Still Cheat On Her? by busygirl(f): 12:11pm On Feb 26, 2011
I don't believe in making excuses on behalf of men. It is in their nature to cheat, bla bla bla. That's all bull. I will personally shake my head at any woman who believes her husband/boyfriend can still love her, even though he cheats on her. What is love? Love is patient, kind, and long suffering. For Men who think it's ok to cheat on their wives and still love them, go back to the drawing board. . Something must have gone wrong somewhere!

Abi o

There are rules everywhere to protect women, men deserve to be cut some slack too.

I honestly think being a gentleman is something two stops short of being stúpid.

I let you have my seat on a bus, I let you get on first in a queue, I open the door for you to get in, I carry the heavy luggage, now when i get slapped by you, I am also expected to just walk away?. . . .what an unfair/unjust world we live in!

How many men still do all you have stated above wake up jor, we live in a very fair world tongue

Yes!. . if she slapped me first, and drop that shyt about men being gentlemanly, a lady that is ladylike would earn respect enough not to get slapped.

I'm starting to get sick and crazy about this world that wants everything to revolve around women, fúck that shyt, if women seek equality in everything, why should they want a lesser share when it comes who has the right to slap who?

I would respect you enough as a gentleman to keep my boundaries from being crossed, but if you decide to go over my boundaries and do something purposefully to spite or disrespect me, depending on the severity of whatever it is, i might walk away as a gentleman should or i might just land a dirty slap across your ugly face.

as an example, If a girl spits on me cos she's angry or cos we're having an argument, fúck that gentlemanly shyt, you earned yourself a slap!

@topic, I don't think it is right for a man to hit a woman for any reason. Whatever happened to walking away when  angry,

@Omolola1, If you are not into your new guy please leave him as it is toxic for both of you if you don't.  As for returning to your ex, it really depends undecided undecided especially on the cause of your break up. I would advice you to relax and if anything is ever gonna happen, please let him do the chase. Remember that if a man really wants you, he would go out his way to get you.

Romance / Re: If You Are Not Ready For Marriage, Don't Go Into A Relationship by busygirl(f): 12:41am On Feb 14, 2011
@jerk you need to know what you want. why would you date someone you know you cannot marry? That is very unhealthy for you.  Since you are ready to settle down, date someone you know is a potential wife.

From the responses so far, I think it isn't a bad idea afterall . Thanks for your contributions.

Romance / Re: Why Are Some Men So Quick To Label Women Gold-diggers? Does Love Mean Poverty/suffering? by busygirl(f): 4:03am On Feb 08, 2011
Where was I when this hot topic started sad . Personally, I'm not the type of girl that would ask things from a guy, I can always sort myself out. But notwithstanding, I like guys that act on instincts. Basic instincts should tell a man when to spend for a girl e.g valentine, christmas , anniversaries and all that.
When it comes to marriage, it is a different ball game. The man must be financially capable before you marry him.
Romance / Re: If You Are Not Ready For Marriage, Don't Go Into A Relationship by busygirl(f): 9:12pm On Feb 05, 2011
cold:

Let me chime in here;

1.When are you psychologically prepared for marriage,20,21,22. . .27,29,30-when?

2.Is it when you feel you're prepared for marriage that you now make yourself available for a relationship?& how long is this courtship/dating thang supposed to run for before it ends in marriage?

3.Are you going to ask the guy if he is ready to settle down from the onset of the relationship, wldn't that be too forward & somewhat desperate?

4.In the end, what is the guarantee that the relationship will end in marriage, even after taking every neccessary precaution to guard against a heartbreak?

Bottomline:'If you're not ready for marriage, don't go into a relationship' is pure shallow thinking for parochial minds.Just let nature take its course, you can never be too careful in matters such as these.

Interesting, NOTED!!

well it depends on why you are actually goin into a relationship,  but personally, i dont think relationship practically means marriage,  so

It doesn't mean marriage but it must be defined with a purpose. I personally think there is no point if it doesn't get you anywhere.
