CareerRe: Working In Abuja Vs Lagos by butanep(m): 10:23pm On Dec 21, 2015
Prospero01:
First which of the two places draws you closer to God. Consider the insecurity in the North. Wic is more expensive setting up a business in Lagos or Abuja. Apart from ministries, what's the job opportunity in Abuja? Here in Lagos, you have two offers and you still didn't see God telling you that your Canaan is in Lagos.

I think you are mistaking the fact that you are in your family house as the reason for wanting Abuja. Analyze things clearly and make up your mind. I live in Lagos alone and working as well.

Finally, the decision is yours to make.
Good advise there...

You re my name sake...

Peaceisgold:
Very funny yet you are also very correct. That was how I went for a teaching job recently and the director there offered to pay me 5000 and told me that the reason for the pay is because he sees talents in me and hence he is doing me a favour to gain experience, and yet he wanted me to take mathematics for both junior and senior class! Lol! I told him that taking the subject is not an issue to me since I had all class maths experience during my NYSC but that the pay is low. But then I quickly reminded him so as to correct his ''doing me a favour mentality'' that if employed with good pay it will be a win-win situation, he'll pay and I'll render service. Hence I refused the job. The year 2016 will be fruitful! Amen.
You mean 5k as a graduate?

Jobs/VacanciesRe: The Rigorous Processes Of Some Job Interviews In Nigeria by butanep(m): 3:12pm On Dec 21, 2015
Some employers are very silly.

I went through one months ago. After going through about five stages of interview. The Assistant Admin head was the first to interview me, followed by the Operation head, then the MD and lastly we were given a book about the company to summarised.

The interview took two days plus... I was happy I have landed in my Garden of Eden on the second day. I couldn't even sleep when they told some of us to resume the third day for our appointment letter. I woke up by 4pm. I didn't even eat so I could get there on time.

After much talk, they congratulated us and gave us induction. I was just waiting for the pay to come up because my mind was not in the induction.

Then the main time came, a lady walked in & introduced herself telling us the nature of our job.

When we finally got it, HND holders were given 25k & BSC holders for 30k. I was so annoyed. Imagine a BSC holder in this company receiving 30k. It stated we are to resume work by 7:30am and close by 6pm. Two guyz immediately turn down the offer and went home. I told them I will resume fully tomorrow, the tomorrow is yet to come...

After conducting interview for about 3days, I was just angry because it was a waste of time for me. Some companies earn much income but treat their workers as slaves...

Christianity EtcRe: The Misinterpretation Of Matthew 11:12 In The Bible (Violent Prayers) by butanep(m): 9:30pm On Dec 20, 2015
abitex577:
@Op, please don't just quote a verse of the scripture and draw up a conclusion, I advise even that particular scripture you should refer to other versions of Bible like New Living Translation, NIV, Message etc and above all ask the Holy Spirit to give you understanding. Mathew 11 shows how John the Baptist was put in prision for correcting Herod, and Christ actually testified of the personality of who John was and also reflected how the Kingdom of God is being attacked violently and only the violent/resolute/aggressive christian can make impact (John 11:12). Have asked yourself why on the eve of Christ arrest and crucifixion while he was praying in the garden of Gethsemane, His sweat was like blood? Do you think, someone praying quietly will be sweating and His sweat will be like blood?
You are very intelligent to decode this fact. I have also reason it to that direction. Even when Daniel prayed, he open his windows and the king heard him. That is how he was arrested by the king.

Nigerian girls believe only broke or poor guys take public transport buses, "Okada" motorbikes and "Keke" tricycles and dating such guys will not help them. Poverty+Poverty = Double Poverty.
They prefer guys in cars and SUVs.
You are still a kid. You have a poor knowledge about life.

There are some guyz without cars that date ladies that have cars. You don't have a car doesn't make you a less-man.

What are your strength & weaknesses ?

What are your key subject areas?

Take away that materials and metallurgical engineering out of it except you are runing a master degree.

Geology and mining engineering are related in a kind of way but geology as a field has more future prospect in Nigeria than mining engineering.

I will explain further when am less busy...

not talking of speaking as the English man, no. You don't need to phoneticise ur English before you can be counted as speaking good English.
A basic albeit fluent command of the language is ok. There is no way a person would go through the levels of Nigerian education up to the tertiary institution, Can't speak good English and you'd tell me she is intelligent. Perhaps we've different definitions of intelligence.
What about those that didn't have the privilege to attend a tertiary institution? Do you mean they are all dull? What about those that stop half-way in secondary school, do you mean they have nothing upstairs?

Intelligence is not measured by your high profile English or high level of education. It's measure of the meaningful development you can make to satisfy mankind with the little knowledge therein.

I don't rate people by their English but by what they can do...

FashionRe: Snail Facials: Ladies, How Far Will You Go To Look Beautiful? by butanep(m): 6:23pm On Dec 18, 2015
It didn't start today... most big girls do it nowadays even in foreign nations. It's called natural facial treatment.

Snail facials are actually not popular or common in Nigeria, but there are places in Asia (Japan and Thailand) and even in the UK that offer snail facials. Most of these treatments consist of allowing snails to crawl around your face, which leaves a trail of the snail mucin wherever they go.

Good one.

I have met many sexy as in super sexy ladies that have ran away from me because of the grammar and i have made up my mind to always caution myself.

Asides this, i have realized that these ladies who have grammar challenges are naturally humble and more wifey than many ladies that can speak grammar like kilode and i have also arrived at a possible school of thought that ladies who speak so well are mostly arrogant and proud and can abuse you so mildly in grammar and when you interpret that to vernacular you will feel the gravity of the insult.
You are on point. That the fact.

Well it hasn't happened to me cos I don't walk up to random ladies to toast. I take my time to study her before I make my approach.
It'd be a huge turn off for me if a lady I'm approaching can't speak good English, it's a bigger turn off if her major means of communication is a local Nigerian language, I simply wouldn't be able to relate with her cos aside English, french is the only other languages I understand properly. Beauty is insignificant when am approaching a lady, her intelligence counts and weighs more
This is where we get it wrong. There are some ladies that are intelligent but can't speak high profile English. Intelligence is not a measured of your spoken English.

I meet some ladies during my service year that are intelligent but can't speak high profile English. It is as a result of many factors.
