There is no way to get good at programming fast except through persistent practice.

Having a good logical, analytical, and critical thinking skills definitely help improve your work process. Looking at a problem, you could rapidly identify the most appropriate algorithm.

You just have to keep trying. You have studied for months and dont seem to be improving as you said. If you are truly interested in improving your programming skills, you just have to keep trying but you have to determine by yourself, is programming what I really want to do?

There are other aspects of IT that are fantastic as well. Know what yourself and what you seek.
Once you are able to learn a programming language, might be relatively easier to pickup others.

A professional athlete like lebron james or asafa powell, they have the talent but they keep practicing to continually improve and be the best possible.

It is extremely horrible these days for people looking for employment, facing the possibility of losing their jobs. Terrible. A couple of people will be let go especially in the IT department. Everyone is scared. Then it gets to the point one may start to think, why me, why now.

I guess one may have to go from company to company talking with HR. So scary.

I eventually want to setup my own company. One needs some time to get his or her feet wet before making solid commitment. My boss was talking about starting an investment company in Nigeria. I hope he is serious about it but I need to keep asking him if he really wants to do it. Which I dont think will be anytime soon. He is a french man. He is also familiar with the Nigerian business atmosphere and he is interested. Only if he could commit asap. That would be great and I finally become a MANAGER. SWEET LIFE.

We do project funding and venture capital. The funniest thing is that, I work in an investment company that provides Angel funds and I have my own personal project plans but I cant get Angel funds through my company because I dont have collateral. ah ah ah ah Go figure. Weird right?

So now, maybe work in the private sector or international org or anything possible. That would be great.

Information on how to go about is highly welcomed.

So, now I should be in Nigeria next month, and how can I go about searching for IT jobs in Nigeria.

This is not to sound pessimistic, but we have to be realistic with our expectations. A Nigerian ecommerce site that can compete with the likes of ebay and amazon? You must be kidding me. There are many issues that would need to be addressed before such a service can make it to the big leagues without any major issues.

1. Financial transactions (online credit card, proxy payment, cheques, etc whatever you can think about)
2. Fraud (impostors, 419, everything in this category)
3. Guaranteed secured delivery of goods and services

Such a system can be setup but the major most difficult issue that would be faced is number 2 fraud. Look at the likes of ebay, craigslists, I have had my own share of fraud attempts by Nigerians.

It often seems that people interprete things fromt he bible differently and many times end up not agreeing with things. When people go to church, listen to pastors, reverends, preachers etc talk about the bible, isnt it the way they interprete the bible they tell the congregation? It is more of a profession to be a person that preaches the bible. These people go to seminaries etc to study the bible, so how come one needs to go to school to study the bible? if i read the bible, it is very easy to understand so how come if i go to church i need to listen to someone else tell me what it means?

If you are trying to prove a point, dont use any reference from the bible to prove the point. Holds little or no substance.

How old is the earth based on the bible?

What is your response to the pyramids in egypt, fossils found, ancient china, etc.

If people do what was said to be done from the passage you highlighted, how many people will remain in this world.

I previouslly posted in another thread regarding the fact that, christianity is not our religion it was introduced to us. pre-colonial era, different groups of people practiced different things if you want to call them religion cool. What they practiced then was part of their culture and tradition. so when the "white europeans" came, telling locals, what you are doing is wrong our way is better. Then people started accepting, and culture/traditions were gradually erased.

What would have happened if missionaries never came to nigeria and other parts of africa? would chrisitanity be dominant as it is now?

I am comfortable keeping things to myself, sometimes just feel the urge to say it, deal with the blacklash, and get it over with. Well, i guess still have to keep it in the jar, except someone on here reading my posts in the religion section knows me and gives a hint. I dont care might even be better this way lol.

Well well well, that video explains it all. I thought christians are supposed to be tolerant, understanding, and accepting of everyone. LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOUR AS YOURSELF. Well we can now say that there are exceptions.

When she said she got confirmed and total the priest/pastor whatever. i bet he was probably young then. I was confirmed when I was young. At such a age, most people are not capable of critical thinking and understanding of things they do and why they do them. As we grow, we gain more knowledge and hopefully begin to understand the whys, whats, whens, of life if possible.

The lady not even willing to understand and reason with the son ifit is not staged is evident of the fact that many people would like to force religious doctrines without even wanting to consider the other person's opinion, morals, ethics. The woman is judging her poor son, which is in contradiction to what is in the bible, do not judge. Interesting, we can use some parts of the bible to reinforce our points while ignoring other parts.

It's a shame but that is reality. Hopefully, at some point in time people can be tolerant and understanding of each person at least that could possibly reduce the number of conflicts around the world.

It is a pity it has to be like this. I bet it will be worse for many Nigerians telling their parents they are unsure about religion. Which is one of the things I am trying to avoid.

My believe is:

DO WHATEVER ROCKS YOUR BOAT. AS LONG AS YOU DON'T REGRET DOING IT AND YOU DONT HURT ANYONE BEFORE DOING, WHILE DOING, AND AFTER IT DONE.

So the next question is, how would one know if they will regret or not regret.

There is something people forget. Before Missionaries started exploring Africa (fifteenth century), different people practiced different things and most likely not the present day form of Christianity.

European explorers/missionaries came over to influence people living in africa saying their so called religion and tradition is wrong, accept ours it is the only way. and people started accepting losing their identity. So what gives?

There are indigenous believes for each region, so each group of people have what they believe is the creation of the world. So who is right and who is wrong, or is it just our imagination?

For yoruba people, would you ignore the history of your traditions, legends, fables about the creation of the world saying it is unreasonable and archaic to accept the christian interpretation of the creation of the world. Knowing that yorubas have lived without christianity before the Europeans came. this is applicable to every where around the world.

Well, we all have our opinions on different issues but who knows? no one. There are thousands of interpretations or believes as to the creation of the world each proclaiming they are right on how the world started.

If you accept the existence of dinosaurs living millions of years ago, how old is the bible? then what happened to people that lived before what christians assume to the be savior? were they all wrong in what they did? No matter what each person does, to me, it may be ok, to others it may be wrong.

Does it make sense that if, I am not a practicing christian, i live a very good life, helping people and being generous and hospitable to people but another person who he or she claims to be a believer, lies, goes against the 10 commandments, then says a simple prayer and accepts his/her sins are forgiven and the person goes to heaven and i go to hell? That doesnt sound logical. makes no sense to me at all.

how come it is only the virgin mary that has conceived without any physical influence? even through donors or test tube baby? how come it is only this instance that defies any biological reasoning. Shouldnt there be an explanation for that?

Do not claim there is no need for explanation because he is all knowing and powerful to do what he likes. well, how come it is just one person? .

if anyone is convinced about the discoveries of bones, mummies, relics, of prehistoric times, isnt that enough for you to start questioning the validity of religions?

Why do many scientist not christians or believe in religion?

Interesting questions and many more. How come there are many forms of christianity if christianity is the one religion to salvation? well you may go back to fighting in europe. if those people then agree to one system for all and believe in the same principles, and there are thousands of variations of christianity, which one is right and which is wrong. keep in mind that some people who choose one over the other are looked upon badly as making a wrong church.

Oh well just my opinion. No damage done in questioning and thinking.

Or

Do you pretend and listen to them without telling them anything? (go with the flow). So as to avoid the subsequent questioning about your moral, reasoning etc?


I consider myself as a Weak Agnostic. Right now, I am going with the flow. But when the issue of going to church comes up, I just sort of tune out and just say ok ok. no problem.

As a promoter of google, google is an extremely useful tool.

Going to google.com and just searching for CSS GALLERY goes a long way in getting ideas/concept for design.

There are so many tools that make things easy these days maybe people are just lazy to search and read looking for shortcuts. I just pity companies that pay people for crappy jobs

I was on facebook and myspace like 3 years ago and I closed my accounts. I am sure there are others I registered for but I dont even remember them anymore. It was really boring for me personally. There was nothing good to be derived apart from just adding people lookingn to spam and sell you things.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with green. It is just that many nigerian sites you come across = green and it is badly done.

Either it is just one green wtih a mixture of white or different shades of green which can hurt the eye. You will need a special type of goggles to diffuse the effect of the green

Finding people is cool but most people just end up spending hours upon hours daily doing nothing.

Commenting on pictures and writing incomprehendable blog/comments is beyond understanding.

Especially Tweeter. I AM STILL DUMBFOUNDED on this one.

Oh well i guess people are different.

If the use of the green color is patriotic or is deemed being patriotic, I can definitely say that if other countries follow suit, many many many websites will look like crap.

SOCIAL NETWORKING IS A WASTE OF TIME FOR THE MAJORITY OF USERS

The major beneficiaries from things like facebook, myspace, blogs etc are big corporate companies or well established people trying to sell things.

Saw a post recently about people hiring virtual assistants to manage their social networking profile of many friends. lol I just laughed.

For an average user,

1. Sign up
2. Connect with real world friends (they probably talk with on the phone or see on a regular basis)
3. Link up with virtual users (many fakes and useless people)
4. Gossip, upload stupid pictures, make stupid comments, trash talk, and
5. Whatever.

If you want to prove me wrong, tell me how any social networking site has been of benefit to you? If you are not in close proximity with your real world/life friends then I may pass my comment and exclude you from my rant.

French - High intermediate lol   about 10years ago started

Yoruba - intermediate                on and off depending on environment and people around

It is quite interesting to see the diversity and how much people are learning. Pretty cool
Diversity doesnt necessary me local and foreign. As we all know different parts of nigeria has different cultures. Knowing those as well is great. I am not a yoruba guy but I know how to speak, read a little and understand yoruba. That helps in many ways. As I think i said previously like knowing languages will help understand people. You have something to relate to. It is all about understanding and being aware of our differences and accepting of those who do thing totally different from us.

Diversity is not only about learning languages. I bet many people have lived in different places in their lifetime but it is difficult to pick up the language. But they understand and know about culture and traditions. Picking up a new language as we know is not an easy thing to do. We do what we can to pick up those we may have interest in. So Languages is just part of it there are other things you need to take into consideration
