Hell always sounded like a cynical marketing ploy designed to make people afraid to leave or displease the particular sect. And it seemed to really kill empathy - 'god says they burn, they burn' doesn't make me think of someone being full of love and compassion and all that.

Eternal punishment for finite transgressions always seemed abusive to me. How can someone look at the idea of a being who would condemn people to that and call it love?

Even when I was a Christian Hell was just too weird for me to accept. Infinite punishment for finite offenses is an eye for an eye on steroids. Punishing people for disobeying nit-picky rules makes God an abusive parent. One reason often given for punishment is to teach the offender not to offend again, but if punishment is eternal then how can the offender benefit from this teaching? Jesus is supposed to be into forgiveness but forgiveness shouldn't involve eternal suffering. Hell isn’t redemptive, it isn’t leading to repentance, it’s simply pain for pain’s sake.

I love this quote: “Heaven and hell seem out of proportion to me: the actions of men do not deserve so much.”

and of course I get the rationalisation of hell by Christians saying its moral accountability and saying bad people go to hell;

If Yahweh is real and omniscient, that means he already decided that we're going to hell before he even created us. But if this omniscient deity allows for deathbed conversions, then it doesn't matter what kind of life you lead. You could be a brutal dictator who massacred tens of millions of people, yet still get into heaven if you tell Jesus you're sorry. Your victims could all go to hell for eternity if they never repented. That's how bleeped up Christian morality is.

Maybe Christians can answer a few questions for me. The Bible says that there is ONLY ONE way to get into Heaven: by accepting salvation through Jesus.

So it follows that the Christians who ran the Nazi death camps can get into heaven. But their 6 million Jewish victims must burn for all eternity in the pits of Hell. I've talked to many Christians about this and they just pretty much accept it.

My questions are:

1. How f***ed up do you have to be to believe Nazis can go to Heaven but their 6 million Jewish victims must burn? That's just sick. But Christians believe it. What the f*** is wrong with you people?

2. Why would ANYONE willingly worship a god that would act like that? Is it just a fear thing (better known as cowardice)? And

3. Even if you get into Heaven what makes you think you'll be safe with a psycho god like that running the place? The truth is the bible did not teach anywhere in its pages that God will punish bad people in hell, no where did it say so in the bible. Our creator is not a vengeful God as the churches, who have gone astray from the truth, portray Him.
So please be assured of this scriptural truth, everyone who dies today does not go anywhere, nothing survives us at death to live or suffer somewhere, at death we all seize to exist. My friend you asked a very valid question. The problem is with the way the so called pastors interpret the bible. The almighty God our creator never in anywhere in the bible guarantee his worshipers good health and material prosperity etc. The guarantee that God gave his worshippers is spiritual protection. That is why the same sicknesses and unfortunate events that befall bad people also befalls good people. There are many classical examples in the bible that demonstrates that. Imagine someone who calls himself a "man of God" saying that it is the will of God for someone to suffer the terrible pain and agony of a cancerous disease for two years before letting them die, what a cruel way to portray a God whom the bible tells us that He is the epitome of love. I don't think the most wicked person on earth will be that heartless. At the end they obscure the falsehood of their teachings with one of their favourite phrase. "You can't question God". Again that is wrong, faithful ones in the bible questioned God, and there is no indication in the bible that God was offended neither did he condemn them for questioning Him. Bro, life in Europe not an easy One. I visited Europe some weeks ago, and I can tell those living in Gulf countries are far better than the ones in Europe. I chatted with few and told them packages we earn in the Gulf, they all willing to come over. I was in France and Amsterdam. A friend that we came to the gulf some years ago, he could not manage, and he left after six months to Nigeria, a year after, he went to Germany. Till now, he has not gotten his papers.

I have been to almost all of the European countries, presently living in Canada. One of the biggest obstacle for foreigners in Europe is the language, if you are able to surmount that by learning the language, then you face the greatest hurdle of racism this is manifested when you seek employment and other opportunities, as such your potential for economic growth is severely restricted. Like someone said above having a business or being very highly skilled in a hands on profession are one of the ways to expand your opportunities for economic growth with no or limited obstacles in relation to the locals.
From my personal experience living in an English speaking country puts you in a better position for success no matter how racist the locals might be. As for Canada racism here is so minimal that it is hardly noticeable, in fact compared to nepotism and tribalism in Nigeria, it is non existent. Imagine a country where the government gives you the exact same treatment as their citizens, note you have to be residing legally to enjoy these benefits. It is very vital to make decisions based on facts and not on emotions or some pre-conceived notions. Covid19 vaccine has been taken by over 6 billion people around the world. Some of those medications causes serious problem for the ones being treated that they die, and it is clearly stated on the labels of those medications, they also sate those possible side effects when they are being advertised on the TV.

I have heard some say or seen a written message in some homes, "Christ is the head of this house." On the other hand, i have also heard some claim that the husband is the head of the home or marriage, therefore I would like to know which is really true, since both cannot be right at the same time.

If Christ is the head of the home, then both the husband and wife ought to submit themselves to the authority of Christ. But if it's the husband instead, then the woman has to submit herself to the authority of the husband.

My own belief is that Christ ought to be the head of every Christian home, so both the husband and wife ought to submit themselves to His own authority.

Anything contrary to that is not of God, but of men or the devil, hence it would only lead to dangerous repercussions in the home, as it was in the beginning when the husband and wife both rejected the authority of Christ, even the Word of God that was in the beginning, and chose to listen and heed the voice of someone else.

Although the marriage didn't end up in a divorce as a result, and they wear yet able to bear children, it became a total failure as the purpose for which God made the marriage, which was to multiply sinless children (those born in obedience), was not achieved.

It also led to hostility in the marriage, because the same man who loved his wife and called her "the bone of my bones" and "flesh of my flesh", now saw her as an enemy or a stranger called "the woman you gave me". Genesis 2:23; 3:12

So the authority and head of a Christian home, as God made it to be in the beginning, ought to be the Word of God which Christ is, and that's one of things which was in the beginning that Christ came to restore. Therefore taking that authority from Him and giving it to someone else, including the husband, would only prevent the purpose of God concerning the marriage from being fulfilled, and could also lead to hostility among the married couples.

That's what would have happened in the marriage of Smith Wigglesworth, as the husband thought he was the head of their home, and had authority over his wife, hence tried to use it against her and to prevent her from serving God as she ought to, when he derailed from the faith.

But thank God he had a wife who knew that he was just her husband, not her Head or Head of their marriage, but Jesus, as she'd let Him know. So he couldn't make her do things contrary to what Christ demands of her, because she was meant to be under Christ's authority, not his.

This eventually led to her husband's restoration to the faith, and for this reason he loved appreciated his wife much more than he'd ever done beforehand, because what he learnt from the wife in the process was an invaluable lesson, which had not only helped to restore him, but also made him to be a better vessel for God's use, and better husband for his wife and marriage.

That's what many Christian' marriage stands to lose whenever someone else is put in the placed of Christ as the Head of a Christian home. It ends up more or less as the marriage in the beginning, when God's purpose for the marriage was not achieved.

And once that purpose is not achieved, the marriage become a total failure even if it doesn't end in divorce and they're yet having children as Adam and Eve, because God purpose for a Christian marriage that determines the success of a marriage, not that of man.

So it's up to choose who will be the head of your home, but if it's not Christ, do not expect Him to also act as the Head, because He cannot share His position or authority in any marriage or home with anyone. It's either Him in charge or not Him.

So if you claim that American is Babylon the Great, there is not condition of survival the bible says that Babylon the Great is destined to be destroyed completely. My advice to you is go back to your bible and let the scriptures interpret itself you will learn that Babylon the Great is not American but the world empire of false religion, this include religions in Christendom who claim to worship God but have deviated from His ways.

I don't understand how these so called Christians read the bible.

When God used forces of nature to execute judgment in the bible he gives advance warning on how to escape the disaster and only those who disobeyed are affected. Lol, they believe the world came to be in just 6 days, they believe a snake talked, they believe a donkey talked, they believe that people used trumpets to bring down a whole city, they believe that dry bones of dead bodies grew flesh and came back alive. But an archeologist's research with evidence which dates back millions of years is where they draw the line?
The fact is that, if the bible had said the universe is billions of years old, they wouldn't call it a lie. They allow their bible to reason for them.

Bro the bible did not tell us the age of the universe, the universe's age could be billions of years old and that does not contradict what the bible teaches. When the bible says the earth was created in six days, it is quite obvious that those were not six literal days. The problem here is people's interpretation of what the bible says without allowing the bible to explain itself.
Note some few examples:
Genesis 2:4
4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,

Note that its says in the day that God created the heavens and the earth. Notice that those six creative days are lumped into one day, obviously the day here is an unspecified period of time not a 24hr day.

Genesis 1:5
5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

Again the light which is only half of a 24hr day is called "day". As before day here is referring to a period of time.

So the problem is what people think the bible says not what the bible says, the bible is a book that explains itself, we get it all wrong when we choose to interpret the bible just the way we want without allowing the scriptures to interpret itself.
This is why among so called Christians they teach unscriptural doctrines as Hellfire, Trinity, Immortality of the soul, Christmas Celebration, Esther Celebration, use of cross in worship and so forth doctrines that are all rooted in pagan worship.
