Thanks a lot for your advice @CanadaIsHome! Sent our passports to London Visa Office via London VFS where I submitted my biometrics. We initially had some issues with mix-up about transmission fees for the other family members but I received emails earlier today from the London VO and vfs that the decision envelopes are ready for collection. It took just 2 days IRCC London! Glory to God!!!
Congratulations

Thanks for the reply.

Please kindly walk me through the process of sending our documents to London VFS. I did my biometrics there last year so I hear we may not need to pay transmission fees? I'm also thinking of sending by royal mail next day 1pm delivery service. What do I need to include in the package apart from the passports, photos, ppr letter and completed form (with height and eye colour)?

As always, your prompt feedback is appreciated. God bless

Can I send you a direct/private message?
Some things may have changed since my time. Best to visit VFS website or call them to be sure you're on track

Good day all! I just received a Passport Request Letter and currently live in the UK. I'd appreciate it if members in the house could advise on the most efficient vfs office to submit. I hear London takes a long time. I thankfully look forward to your prompt response.
Best to stick with London. I heard same too but got our passports back within 6 weeks.

1 month and few days to be exact

... I don't think that indiscipline is the major reason why Nigerians are not able to save.. In my opinion, Black tax and marrying a wrong partner are the major reasons why most Nigerians struggle financially.

Firstly, the act of carrying generational burdens and expending limited resources on such means that we are continually struggling to meet up.

The second reason which I think is the most important factor is MARRYING A WRONG PARTNER.A lot of Nigerian men have been conditioned into believing that as the head of the house they must foot all bills despite having a wife that is not handicapped. This ,I guess was why those seniors adviced that "you wait and get married first" ....That is a terrible culture that promotes laziness and prevent generational wealth. Marriage is a joint venture between two consenting adults. As such,I see no reason why one partner will depend wholly on the other..In some or most cases, you have the women working and earning humongous pay and yet they refused to contribute financially to the home front.. I think there is a need for reorientation and alignment of expectations with reality.

It is important that a couple before marriage have this important discussion about money/finances...It is important that a woman contribute financially to her immediate family.
I'm a woman and I've met women that have been conditioned that way too.
They earn so well and watch their husbands go through hell to manage ALL the bills.
To me, it doesn't matter who earns more as long both are bringing something to the table and working as a team to be better on individual levels

Oh nice. Did you upload a 6 months statement of account along with it? Was it required? And did you state that it was for Canada pr in the fixed deposit certificate, or no need?
@canadaishome
1.No
2.No
The bank doesn't add the reason. It's not their business what you want to use the FD for.
Fix it and collect the certificate then submit

Good evening everyone. I have less than two weeks to submit my application. Can I use Fixed deposit as my POF? Will it be a problem if the FD certificate reads that it’s a recent fixed deposit rather than 6months?
I’d appreciate a response, thank you.

@40manlappy
Yes you can use it.

I fixed mine days before my application and it was approved

Hello everyone,

I have an issue. I have applied for Express entry since December 2020 and apart biometrics update and a few ghost updates, it has been radio silence since then. However on September 21, I got a request for remedicals, then after a few hours I got ADR as well. I immediately booked my medicals and started sorting the additional documents that were requested. I did my medicals last week it was approved on Wednesday. But on Friday, I got an update on my account that my application has been refused based on eligibility grounds. This is surprising because I still have till October 21 to provide the additional documents requested from me. Also, despite the fact that I received a refusal letter the status of application is still on "action required" referring to the pending ADR. My first instinct was to file a technical complaint which I did. But I would like to know if someone has gone through this before and which alternative means I can use to register my complaints about the situation.
Please order gcms as soon as possible so you know exactly what led to the refusal if at all.

A rejection letter will give you a general idea of why it was refused but gcms notes will go into specific details. I know because my first PR application was rejected too

Construction profession is best for you, depending on the lifestyle you want, but make sure you join one of the trades unions like locals 183 (residential constructions), 506 (labourers construction), 27 (carpenters union), 79 (heavy equipment/crane operators), 793 (plumbers union), 353 (electricians union) and so on.
The good thing with construction is that once you are union member, you don’t need all these resumes and will never be scared of loosing your job if you decide to take a long vacation. As a unionized construction worker, you get paid well and get most benefits for yourself and family that most other profession don’t get. Benefits like medical, dental, physio, travel insurance, partial scholarships for your kids, optical and others I can’t think of now, but them plenty. You even get benefits for marijuana if you’re into weed too, provided you have a doctor’s prescription. You can decide to work 6-8 months in a year and use the remaining 4 months to do other things/business if you like. It gives you flexibility like mad. Some people work 8 months during the warmer months and go on EI during the winter months.
And once you have your red seal or journeyman permit in construction, you can even work in the US.
Abeg what about becoming a mechanic?

It's PPR baby. Here is a brief of my timeline.
The whole thought of PR came to my head Feb 2018 then my interest was in Australia PR, but found out that I was more qualified for canada PR, so I made the switch and the journey began.

ECA : June 2018
1st IELTS : Aug 2018
2nd IELTS : Oct 2018
EOI SINP : Jan 2019

SNIP Nomination: Dec 2019 was Rejected due to mismatch in Job and occupation.
After SNIP Rejected my application I decided to leave PR and get marry.
Told my wife about my whole PR dream and all, she keyed into it we both retook IELTS, and then I decided to go for a 1year MSc whilst, wife also had an Msc.

3rd IELTS : Jan 2020

Ist ITA : Jan 2020, I declined it as I wasn't ready.

2nd ITA: March 2020

AOR: May 2020

By Aug 2020 my application was refused because of PCC. I didnt give up, i immediately reapplied and fixed the initial mistake on the PCC.

3rd ITA : Aug 2020

Aor : Oct 2020

MED passed : Oct 2020

Long silence.

ReMed : April 2022

Addition of baby : April 2022

ADR 1: june 2022 (Schedule A, details of Govt service, POF, employment letter)

ADR 2: Sep 2022 (PCC)

PPR: sep 2022

All resources and knowledge was gotten from this forum to support my application. And thus I would do my bit to support people who have questions.
Giving up is never an option
