AyaE: Hello Guys, my grant just came in today!!!! Thanks to everyone who has contributed on this thread one way or the other on this thread. It has helped immensely. My time line: Submitted application-31st July 2019 Conditional offer- 15th July 2019 CoE- 24th November 2019 Biometrics- 27th December 2019 Submitted Visa Application- 25th January 2020 IELTS Score- 7.0 (I had a minimum band score of 7.0 so my average was 7.0). I got a waiver from the school so I didn't need IELTS for school admission. My agent advised I write one for visa so I did. School- Flinders University Sponsor's account: My maternal uncle. Submitted 2 bank statements. One had 18m and the other was a fixed deposit account that matures every 30days. It had 13m. Course- Social work (masters) BSc- Microbiology
Submitted my credentials, letter from sponsor, proof of relationship to sponsor (uncle & Mum's NPC) and sponsor's account statement. I didn't submit payslips or my account statement sha. Challenges faced: I already had an MSc in Microbiology so applying for a second masters was what I had to prove. Plus, with Social Work being a high risk course I had to write a convincing SOP. (I can share that with anyone interested cos mehn this took me like a month to write). My work experience was also a bonus cos I work as a care assistant. Sometime in December the bank statement I used for the school admission could no longer be used cos he had to move the funds to another bank for investment reasons. He had to submit another letter to this effect. He also had to back it up with the fixed deposit account. School resumes on Monday so if anyone could help with flight and accommodation links, I'd be most grateful.
Thank God!!!!!!! Please I sent u a DM.. Congratulations again |

VickayThrills: Thank you Sir...
I got two offers from UTAS... I first applied for Social Work which is what I really want but they gave me an offer with a bridging course to do before the Masters.
I applied again for something close to my Bachelors degree and got the Masters which I want to accept and go with.
However, I plan to switch to the Social Work once I get there because I don't want to apply for my visa with the offer that came with a bridging course. I just don't want to risk my chances by any means.
Hope I'm not mistaking with the risk of applying for visa with a bridging offer?
Hi Vicky, please I sent you an email , kindy help respond as I have some questions to ask if its ok by you.
Thanks Is my move/plan in order? |

Nedu20: I don't think the person interviewing you will ask you any question pertaining your previous visa refusal. Everything about your visa refusal has been answered when you uploaded the details of your visa refusal when filling your visa form . They actually asked me this during my Interview |

LagosismyHome: UK and USA are two example where this can happen because they operate two different Visa process . UK is a point based visa and USA is not
So someone can easily be denied in the US on the basis of insufficient ties and be given Visa in the UK because the person meets the requirements
Also in the US day you can be denied Visa for insufficient ties one day and get the Visa the next day . Their process is more subjective . Thanks alot guys |

teewhysafe: Hi, For starters, I don not see a way to avoid the compulsory 1 year deduction from your years of experience as you must have at least 1 year post qualification to be assessed. Also, how relevant is Estate management to Construction Project supervisor.??. General management degrees without underpinning or related studies in construction/civil engineering or building would not usually be positively assessed for this occupation according to VETASSESS. Also, Since its a visa 190, you cant get a direct ITA. You will need to be nominated by States in demand for your occupation. You stand a fair chance if you are able to get maximum points with English and even after VETASESS deducts their one year only from your 3yrs+ experience,as long as you are still employed in this occupation, you can reclaim your 5 points after some extra months.
Other occupations I know Estate mgt can nominate is Valuer (not sure if its still on the list) This is really not my forte
Hopefully more experienced folks can weigh in and advise you accordingly. . I may be of help |

jukeblam: Since the second half of 2017, it's taken longer (on average) for grants to get received- even with all the frontloading, high points etc etc.
To give you hope though, I know someone who started the process in Oct '17 and got the grant in April '18- moved down already too. Just "keep the faith'' and ensure your employment experience places/contact are on point if DIBP decides to verify all; a few cases of HR calls going south have been heard. Do they also verify experiences you are not claiming points for? Please what do you mean by south? |

00francis: GRANT! GRANT! GRANT! So I finally met the light at the end of this PR tunnel.
I am very grateful to the originators and active contributors of this very resourceful thread...the great wealth of information here has been invaluable.
BSc. Mechatronics.
12/06/16 EA Positive Outcome...Was Offered Professional Engineer NEC but i rejected it and Opted to submit another CDR based application for mechanical engineering. They finally gave me Technologist.
After 9 IELTS and 5 PTE tests, i finally got 20pts for English with one PTE result in Oct 2017.
20/10/2017 EOI 70pts...Did not originally plan to claim my 3 years experience because of cash payment mode and company currently is out of business. I thought it would be too hard to provide supporting document. When the whole skillselect drama with high points started, I had to get tax documents, payslips, employment contract and reference letter to support my claims.
09/11/2017 ITA 17/11/2017 Application Lodged 12/02/2018 CO Contact to upload transcripts, submit PTE result online, form 80 and AFP check. 21/04/2018 GRANT Congrats bro. Pls reply my mail |
