PoliticsRe: Pictures Of Projects Commissioned By President Buhari In Kaduna State Yesterday by Cantonese: 6:19am On Jan 21, 2022
naptu2:
The remodelled Murtala Muhammed Square will serve as a park for the people of Kaduna, just like the Lagos Race Course and Ikoyi Park served the people of Lagos.
Were you born at that period? Did you see Ikoyi park or you are just writing history?

I asked that because you just stirred up very painful memory in Lagos Island. For those who were there before the 80s when the military supervised the destruction of Ikoyi park, Kuramo waters, etc out of sheer greed to grab land and build estates, destroying legacies left by the colonialists, it will always be painful.

Turning our popular Love garden, Onikan, was very annoying. It was a very serene and beautiful park where we all visited to relax and enjoy ourselves. Someone choose to convert it to a stadium and bringing nuisances into the area. Today Glover hall just goes by name.

Lagos of old was very organized. Yellow buses when they were introduced and allowed to operate as “kia kia” added further to the defacing of Lagos. Before then it was Lagos state transport service (LSTC). Look at what politicians do with NURTW in Lagos todday, using that Union to mess up Lagos with agberos everywhere. Lagos was indeed very beautiful from the Island to the mainland up till the early 80s.

It is a very big shame on our past military leaders and politicians.
PoliticsRe: Expired PVCs : Tinubu Apologises, Says He Meant Voters Cards Should Be Updated by Cantonese: 6:23am On Jan 20, 2022

The guy above is pained, when you are born with and in hatred, any redemption? I doubt it.

Anyway,

This what I have been saying time without numbers:

Bola Tinubu may not need to spend much on publicity.

Just look Nairaland front page, for every five topics, Tinubu name must appear in two

The publicity is being carried out by opposition. This week alone I can count up to 1000 converts . Nairaland should send Bill to BAT Campaign(vice-versa), because out of five threads that make it to front page, Bola Tinubu's name must appear in two
Young man you should wake up from your deep slumber and not allow your future be further jeopardized by politicians who have made it their duty to impoverish citizens while allocations of humongous resources are reserved for themselves and cronies. Ask yourself with honesty what you have benefitted from these old men that you sing their praises to the highest heavens.

How is it that the national leader of a political party did not know that PVCs do not have expiry dates? That’s very elementary. After getting corrected he turned around to use the word “update”. What’s there to be updated when the PVC does not have an issue? Can you without shame justify that?

As a man ages, his cells begin to diminish. One of those things that happens to him memory loss. BAT clearly showed it. The baba he collaborated with to present to us in 2015 is a clear example. Even his statements are largely incoherent.

You should seek stronger persons, irrespective of party, to make the president. Please leave money bags who give you coke and gala at the polling booths to get your votes.
PoliticsRe: INEC Responds To Tinubu’s PVCs Claim, Says Permanent Voter Cards Still Valid by Cantonese: 8:29pm On Jan 19, 2022
Dapinski:
Can anyone you consider "better" win?

The biggest secret those who dont want our country to make progress are successfully hiding from you and many Nigerians, so far, is that they fear Tinubu is the only Southerner who has the clout to win and then deploy those people like you consider "better" to reposition Nigeria.

It is a game of chess. Non of those that ordinary Nigerians consider better can win. Forget it. They need a formidable enabler like BAT to bring them to prominence and shieled them to work.

Not Adeshina, not NOI not even Moghalu (less than 30k in 2019 election) or Sowore (33k votes to Buhari's 25 million votes in 2019) etal can win so stop the naivete that does not match our reality.

We will throw Nigeria away with idealism our Country is not mature enough to handle.

Many you claim are "better" already contested against Buhari and Atiku in 2019. Buhari polled 15 million votes and Atiku 12 million plus. All the "betters" did not get above 100k votes witt your superstar Oby Ezekwesili getting a miserable 6k votes.

When will some of us learn? At least we know Nigeria will be run by the finest hands who would never have been included unless brought to prominence by the the poltical talent and sagacity of BAT.

We all love to praise Fashola, Osinbajo, Sanwo Olu and many other but you should tell me if any would be where they are today but for BAT. Fashola and Osinbajo would still bw running thwir law offices but for Tinubu.

There is a reason owners of Nigeria are terrified of Tinubu. They know thay whatever is going on with him, Nigeria, under Tinubu, will be run by the best team anyone can assemble. That is the greatest fear of those who want Nigeria to remain the same.
Game of chess you say?

A game of chess? That’s why our people see this issue like football and the season for transfer is open.

Leadership and good governance cannot in anyway be likened to “game of chess”. If it was so the likes of Li Quan Yu would not have made Singapore what it is today. Dubai would not have attained the status we find that country today. France would not be led by a youthful Macron.

If you think that BAT is the best candidate out of 200m people then you may not have not looked very well. Nobody knew the likes of Osibanjo until the opportunity was presented to him. So also do we have great minds across tribes and religio in this country, with the political will to move this nation to the true next level. The only challenge is that the platform has been blocked by these old men who have held the nation to the jugular and continuously bled the nation.

We should be very careful about tribal sentiments which have set this nation on the part of destruction. Those who largely support BAT are from the SW, but myopically they have failed to look further inwards to see better and far more youthful candidates.

Look at the cronies of BAT carefully and honestly tell us how they have contributed positively to move this nation forward. Fashola before he became a minister said better electricity was not rocket science. What change has he brought today? All BAT’s cronies were carefully positioed using the alliance of ACN/CPC and other parties to achieve his “life long ambition”.

I am of the opinion that youths must wake up and take the bull by the horn. Youths must be allowed to actively participate in politics. Youths must be given the opportunity to lead the country. There are better brains there who can lead this country and not these babas.

Nobody is terrified of BAT. People have experienced APC and have realized that a vote for him is to continue the suffering in the land.

We have been told the governor of that state and very soon we have hear the name of the president.
CelebritiesRe: Uti Nwachukwu Threatens To Expose Bottled Water Companies by Cantonese:
And by the way I wonder why the Uti Nwachuchwu chap should show that level of ignorance.

No water factory adds Alum or any other form of chemical in their production. They all use water purifiers. Water purifiers NEVER use any form of chemical. Infact if you add any chemical in the process of purification the chemical will be affected negatively.

Also for you all here you can purchase point of use water purifiers that you can use inside your homes. That save you money, stress and safeguards your health.

Actually you have a point. It could be a fake product cos I doubt Eva or Aquafina water would have issues like that.

Their purification and filtration system is far more advanced.

They are usually the targets of these fake bottle water producers.
There are some possibilities.

1. Fake ones of their brands are in the market
2. The original ones have expired, yet on shop counters
3. Expired/dirty water purification systems
4. Poor handling of their purification machines
5. Sellers storing them on very dirty floors
6. Sellers storing them in smelling fridges/freezers

PoliticsRe: Lagos Bus Drivers To Pay ₦800 Daily As State Introduces Transport Levy by Cantonese: 5:39pm On Jan 18, 2022
How then can Lagos attain the status of a mega city with such a policy? With modern buses and goods roads, Lagos should easily upgrade with good governance.

Ambode, inspite of his perceived shortcomings was on the verge of eliminating yellow buses. Each day Lagos state government appears to give an advantage to NURTW and further empower them to get more violent. MC Oluomo mentioned that the agreed N800 was not part of the union’s daily charge of N3,000. When aggregated, buses pay N288,000 yearly. That does not include daily delivery payments, hire purchase payments, regular maintenance, settlement to the police, Lastma, VIO and other groups on the roads everyday. Without doubt, more yoke is getting added on the people. Lagosians should expect an increase in transportation therefore from the first day of February. That added cost will be further aggravated by the impending rise in the cost of fuel in June.

What kind of government is this APC government?

The so called “last mile buses” have not been seen by most of the residents of the city. I also thought the present administration would have done more to strengthen public transportation by introducing more buses and new routes to reduce the suffering of the people.

It is obvious that the government does not have the masses at heart. The state government seems to abandon the masses at the mercy of the unions.

ogunsbanjul:
Why not ask questions on DIRECT primary and IÑDIRECT primary before commenting instead of coming here to disgrace yourself because of the hatred you have against some certain people.
Direct primary that brought Sanwo-olu shew the party members WISH and not political god-fatherism as claimed by you because no dime was spent during the exercise. Governor Oyetola of osun state too was duely elected by all osun state APC members (majority) and that's why when you check the performances of the 2 governors above you will agree with me that they are performing better than those who were picked or handpicked through consensus.
Direct primary enables the elected leaders to perform far better than the other options of yours as claimed. If you want to know more go and join a party and not just reading through social media.
Did you take your time to read through his comments very well? I advise you to read through again before arriving at your conclusion. He has not in anyway disgraced himself. What he did was look at the merits and demerits of direct primaries.

But as for me I need to quickly clear the air with you with your comment when you said “no dime was spent”. I wonder how you jumped to that conclusion so fast. Do you want to say there were no logistics like transport and feeding, given to party members, mobilizing them to their respective wards to vote? Do you think it was that simple for the name of Sanwo Olu to be presented by “powers that be” without money exchanging hands, in the Nigeria that we have today? Which Nigerian politician will stand in the sun or rain to vote for free?

Again, direct primaries do not enable leaders perform better. What they do is to allow card carrying party members elect candidates of their choices. Once that happens, the chosen candidates are expected to reciprocate by allowing all citizens enjoy the benefits of their leaderships. But you must ask yourself again, how many of such leaders perform creditably?

That’s what the other guy was trying to tell us.

Please let’s have your response.

After sponsoring them to kidnap, rape, loot and destroy communities, with nothing else to lay their hands on, what do you think?

Sheikh Gumi asked the FG to compensate them with lands, money and amnesty. Since non of all is happening, you should expect a backfire.

Some wicked northern leaders must be made to account for this wickedness and carnage going on in the north. Unfortunately they leave those who should be arrested and go after the innocent. Or maybe the leaders themselves get security agents to arrest the innocent as a dummy to shield themselves.

Asaba is not pro Igbo. Asaba is Igbo. Please make the correction. The challenge faced by the Igbos on the other side of the river makes more traders pour into Asaba and other Igbo speaking communities so their businesses do not break down completely. They are the same people. IPOB has only not been able to overrun the Igbo speaking part of Delta state.

The issue of Igbos of the Southeast and Igbos of the South south makes it sound as if there is a big issue. The truth must be told that Igbos as a whole MUST be given their sixth state for equity and fairness if Nigeria continues to remain as one country.
PoliticsLetter To Nigerian Politicians (2) - Dr. Muiz Banire by Cantonese(op): 8:40am On Jan 17, 2022
Letter to Nigerian Politicians (2) - Dr.Muiz Banire
https://www.sunnewsonline.com/letter-to-nigerian-politicians-2
Published: 13th January 2022 in Columns, The Daily Sun Newspaper

Be ethical and godly in your ways as we approach the primary and general election. Should you ultimately scale through the contest and eventually be elected, remember your duty of accountability to the people and God, the giver of power. It is sad that what I am saying here is not new.

These admonitions have been made in the past but your Ojelu colleagues have refused to change. I must not forget to send you to the superhuman in your class; the Aristotelian unmoved mover of your mould; those politicians who behave like God and test the will of God. They are another species of politicians.

They are the godfathers who believe they are God. They are the ones behind whom nobody should be appointed or elected to a political office. The fortunes of others must receive their sanction or endorsement or, otherwise, will be turned to misfortunes. They are the ones who dance on the fresh corpses or graves of their colleagues in the struggle to purloin the seats just vacated by the deceased.

They do not think anyone deserves to live but by the mercy of the godfather. They think and behave like mafiosi and arrogate to themselves what God did not endow them with. These people are the ones that the masses worship in order to earn an undeserved living. They are wealthier than most states in Nigeria but their sources of income are not traceable to legitimate efforts. They adorn the political landscape of the nation. They live in palaces beyond human imagination at whose tables crumbs are available for the masses and yet they pretend to be lovers of the masses. These are the giant parasites that have suffocated the system. With them holding on to their creed of politics, this nation cannot survive.

Within the subdivide of the Ojelus are the less privileged politicians who are on the lower rungs of political parties but are in the majority. They are the ones who mobilise for the big Ojelus to continue dominating the political space. They believe it is a virtue to be jobless politicians with the entitlement mentality that they must be paid for rendering no economic service to earn a living. They are so optimistic that one day they shall be appointed to hold political offices, notwithstanding their competence or lack of knowledge of governance. They are the ones who bad-mouth good and performing office-holders who have decided to provide infrastructures with public funds rather than distribute it as a largesse to members of the party.

These people are Ojelus who claim to be politicians and are encouraged by the big Ojelus to continue in their vocation of laziness and parasitic excrescence. They are ever willing tools in the hands of the Ojelus. More than 1,000 women gathered last Monday at a party office, claiming they were politicians and doing nothing but dancing around in the name of politics. They claimed they were endorsing a particular office-holder for a second term. These are women young enough to constitute the entire workforce of a local government. They are contributing nothing to the economy of their community but living as parasites on the system. Some of them see politics as an opportunity to fraternize with men of reckless sexual appetite who market political activities as a cloak to access women who are in desperate need of money. Some are actual widows while many are “widows” with husbands. These are women whose husbands are the living dead whose responsibilities only comprise sleeping with women to father children but with no economic contribution to the home. These women call themselves politicians and are passionate about party politics, the kind you have created for them. They are the prolific inventors of beautiful songs to praise you to high heavens at public gatherings, sending you to perpetual slumber and indolence in office, while reserving the most acerbic and derogatory lyrics for your real and imaginary enemies.

Worse is an army of young men, agile, strong and able-bodied, who believe that the only way to riches is politics. Once appointed into political offices, they live in pubs, impregnate loose women running beer parlours and, in some instances, put the same women’s daughters in the family way at the same time. Only God knows how many women are regretting the day they introduced their young daughters to their political concubines who turn out to be husband to the young woman but concubine to the mother. What an inglorious avenue you have turned politics into! Your cliché of “no morality in politics” has become a national anthem among your followers. Moral depravity has become a virtue in your household of politics that no one bats an eyelid to protect personal interest, to the detriment of collective interest.

The Monday event I referred to was a festival of shame. These men and women are vermin produced by the system, nurtured by the political class to sustain its hold on power. This is the product baked by our politicians. This is the no-value-added service rendered by politicians to our economy. Do we need any soothsayer to tell us that, with developments of this nature, the future is bleak for the nation? This obviously shows the emptiness of politicians’ productivity to the nation. The politicians must, therefore, be credited for elevating the negative side of politics to an enviable status among the masses. Young politicians do not see anything wrong with this style of politics, as their mentors have been seen as specimens and role models of what successful politicians look like. Politics is now the main focus and vocation among all and sundry in the nation.

It appears to be the only surviving industry in the nation, as everyone lives on the rentier economy effectively fostered by the government. It is the shortest route to fame and wealth, no wonder the cost of governance in Nigeria is astronomical, with sizeable portions accompanying the politician’s home. Have you noticed Nigerians in other vocations that ordinarily are enviable resigning to go into politics? Some resign as bank managers and from other lucrative jobs to enter politics simply because the Ojelus among us have made it the best source of survival and reverence. They have seen their predecessors amass wealth within a short time beyond a lifetime’s earnings can put together.

It seems politics is, therefore, the only vocation left for them to consider since there is no such free money in business as guaranteed in our model of politics.

Young graduates move into politics directly now aspiring to go to the House of Assembly, become local government chairmen or, worse case, become councillors. They are not motivated by the passion for good governance but just to be among the active participants in the pilferage going on. That is why, once their ambition of securing the ticket to contest an election is not met in one political party, many do not see any sense in retaining their membership of such a party but rather cross to another to which they would have been lured by some petty funds or promises. This equally explains why the country appears not to have any future.

These are the people that are supposed to be the leaders of tomorrow but are already contaminated by the Ojelus.

The youth are certainly not blind to the occurrences in the country and tend to emulate their elders who are the Ojelus. Whoever did this to us must be wicked! Whatever the Ojelus touch they violate. Even traditional institutions that are meant to be custodian of our values, morals and culture have been desecrated. Traditional institutions have been destroyed by the reckless office holders who, as Governors, do not think that the future of the people must be considered above their tenured offices. The process of selecting a king is already hijacked by politicians. They impose derelict elements on communities in the game of preferring a stooge to someone they cannot control. Such individuals on the throne have nothing to offer the people but only desecrate the throne together with the customs of the people. It is unfortunate that we have bandits in political offices whose sole ambition is to replicate their replicas in all offices. Community development is of no moment to the Ojelus. It is preferable to have a delinquent in a palace as a King than to have an educated and development-oriented prince whose aspirations for the people may not be in tune with the rentier politics of your Ojelu ruling class. You have travelled to various countries of the world. Tell us where things are done the way you do things here. You have marketed religion to our people as an opium which has completely intoxicated them.

Hence, you reward their political parochialism by sponsoring them on pilgrimage to Mecca, Medina and Jerusalem. You use money meant for building schools, establishing and equipping hospitals, creating jobs, provide security etc. to rather send them on a spiritual journey of no benefit. They return with the confused minds that worship their destroyers. You demand 100% loyalty from them having made them unconscionable paupers and conspirators in the business of mortgaging their future. No wonder they willingly hand over their lives to you to do as you will. It is better for you to kindly reconsider your brand of politics. It is better for you to think of posterity while you still have the opportunity to be penitent. We cannot appreciate your egoistic altruism if you only realise the need for good governance when you are out of office and you consider us idiots that can be fooled again for you to be elected back to power.

Let me also warn the politicians to steer clear of the judicial process. In recent times, because the courts are beginning to assume the role of the electoral umpire by determining the elected candidates as in the infamous Imo case, politicians are beginning to be less aggressive election-wise and rather now permutate on judicial victory. They strive to ‘procure’ pliable judges to secure undeserved electoral victory. They should stop at extending their filth to the judges and contaminating the judicial water. While I will not discourage any petitioner from ventilating his right where desirable, I plead that the politicians refrain from tampering with the judicial process in any way. For now, I say no more on this as I do not want you to preempt the forthcoming letter to the judiciary. In the like manner above, I admonish you, politicians, to desist from thwarting the electoral processes through your manipulative tendencies and acts. As you do the ugly practice, remember that God will ultimately twist your and your family’s destinies also. There certainly can be no salvation for you. With this, I urge Nigerian politicians to turn a new leaf in the coming elections. This is the kindest call we can make or demand of you. We cannot demand of you to de-educate your children you trained abroad with our money while teachers’ salaries are not paid in Nigeria. We are not that wicked to demand that you lose your children to malaria that has rendered many families desolate by death when you took the money meant for stocking drugs in the hospitals.

We are not that unforgiving to wish you misfortunes that you visited on our people while pretending to be the leader they deserve. Such decisions can only be made by your creator who knows what you deserve. We are only entitled to demand that you politicians lift your knees off our necks to enable us breathe under good governance. It is when politicians consider our pleas worthy of consideration that we can allow them to tell us about the beauty of good governance that they currently deny us. Nigerian situation depicts simply bad governance and nothing more. Politicians across board must, therefore, in line with my admonition above, develop minimum national ethical standards. Their iniquities have put Nigerians in a dishonourable position worldwide and forced us into notorious vocations unbefitting of a human being. Please repent and allow us to breathe good governance. I am sure that all I have said above is not new to the politicians but in their usual characteristics of being deaf and dumb to wise counsel, we need to continuously reiterate it, hoping that God would touch their conscience at a point. In the absence of this, I may wish the politicians the nature of the year that they wish for the masses.

I am yours sincerely,

Muiz Banire.
PoliticsRe: Electoral Bill: NASS Preventing Poor Nigerians From Politics - Jega by Cantonese: 6:13am On Jan 17, 2022
Nonsense talk.

If not for overspending, how would some ever be in the National Assembly? If not for wealthy backers, how did PMB who told us that he could not purchase his form, contest and win? If not for overspending how did some become governors and got enslaved by their sponsors or godfathers?

How many of them accounted for the humongous amounts spent to get into offices? Where there receipts or invoices presented as evidence of spending within the limits? Who asked them for records? How did Jega check the limits of spending in his tenure? Does it matter that NASS increased the spending limits? What difference does it make when it is an open secret that politicians spend billions to get into positions?

Suddenly Jega presents himself as a saint or someone on a rescue mission. He actively participated to inflict this country with the hardship and suffering people experience presently.

For me he should simple close his mouth and enjoy whatever benefits that were given to him in 2015.
PoliticsRe: (Opinion) The Positive Effect Of Open Direct Primaries In Nigeria Democracy. by Cantonese: 4:47am On Jan 17, 2022
Amotolongbo:
Though in a sane clime, direct primary promises those positive effects. We have had some direct primaries in Nigeria and saw the effect.

1. Remove Godfatherism? Osun state APC had primary election prior to the 2018 gubernatorial election in the state. The Godfather from Lagos, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, had Governor Gboyega Oyetola winning the primary as against the wish of the siting governor.
Moreover, did the primary election remove Godfatherism in Lagos state where Sanwo Olu won the incumbent, Ambode?

2 Give rise to Productivity?
The last time I checked, Muhammadu Buhari and some APC governors were given the 2019 election ticket to contest by the party through the direct primary, has that increased their productivity?

3. Make the main election process a jamboree?
Last Anambra State gubernatorial election is a case study here where Senator Andy Uba was alleged to have 230,201 votes. This makes the election process a “jamboree” when the total vote cast was even a little above the 230,201 a candidate had in the direct primary election.

4. Verily, there will be more money to be shared and the money will get to the grassroot to lure the party members to vote unlike in indirect when few delegates are gathered.
Agreed with you absolutely. I think some on this platform just choose to talk without experience.

Godfatherism removed a very enterprising Governor Ambode and inserted the present man who the same people who voted for him have labeled “Pointus Pilate”. Ambode moved Lagos forward in great strides and they foolishly hung him on the tree of refuse and refusal to release money to the ward and state executives. In two years, has Lagos moved forward with the present leadership? NO. Go to pen cinema in the day and in the night and witness the transformation. He was abused, but today the people enjoy it.

Money plays a huge role in party politics at the ward level. Everyone needs money from the ward chairman to the canvassers. They all accept money from all candidates within the same party with promises to vote for them. The system gets corrupted within the wards are their hands are soiled with gifts and bribes. The positions therefore are hijacked by the highest bidders. The so called ward party members dance to the tune of the money bags, so there is a big problem with money within the wards.

The challenge we have is that intellectuals are not involved with politics at the wards levels. They are hindered at the wards as there is a great demand for bribes at the wards. If you get to the wards, you will find mostly area boys and people who largely hang around with no visible means of livelihood as card carrying members. They are the card carrying party members, who sit down waiting for crumbs and instructions from “oga”. Intellectuals wait for professional politicians to secure power and invite them into positions. That way our nation will remain where it is.

Most of the youths on Nairaland are not card carrying members of any political party. All they do is get voters card, come on Nairaland to shout and abuse everyone. You need to be politically involved in the wards, get your own membership card.

Direct primaries are the best, but will never be allowed to work by the godfathers. When they say it is costlier logistically, it is just sentimental. Most people live within their wards. On Election day they can move easily to the designated location. For the politicians, they are scared that there would be a greater amount of people to be given bribes and cash to vote for them.

Direct primaries would give the contestant an idea of what to expect on election day. He knows that so so amount of card carrying members voted for him and he expects a turn out of close to that figure, if not all. All he needs is their transportation and feeding, unlike the Anambra case where the man was deceived.

They need to update their registers. Registers are never at the secretariat but in the homes of chairman. For them updating means imputing new names and not checking those lost.

With direct primaries politicians would be forced to engage the citizens more, telling them the importance of belonging to political parties and their rights.

The problem remains that whatever the system is, direct or indirect, godfathers are there to destroy the system. We must get to the stage where political godfathers are dealt a final blow, paving the way for youthful great minds to get involved in the political system from the wards to make elections more attractive and governance better.

Everyone watch out!

PMB will handover to GOODLUCK EBELE JONATHAN.

Mark those words today. The northerners if they cannot retain power, will hand over to GEJ, with an agreement to do his second term and return power to the north in 2027.

Anything aside from that will herald the end of APC and the ascension of PDP back to power.

Greedy young man.

A complete NFA, with the plan to ruin the young lady out of his foolishness. A totally insecure young man who does not realize that there is a time to gain and a time to lose.

That’s how one young man pretentiously married a young and beautiful lady. Everyone was happy after the marriage rites were completed. The young man took his wife home and that same night butchered her completely.

Anyway I think OP just wanted to gather comments. Whatever it is however, there are plenty ladies out there who find themselves in such situations, blinded out of love and fall victims.

These people will never learn grin

Apc is even worse. Till date, nobody knows when their convention would hold. These are the people they expect us to vote into power. Never again. I'm patiently waiting for the youth party. If the formation is good with great and formidable candidate I'd vote them instead
Unfortunately APC supporters claim to be sophisticated. They tell you how PDP made them suffer for 16 years. They tell you how things have become better in the last 6 years. They tell you how they hope for a better tomorrow under APC.

What they will never tell you is their secret tears, worries and sorrows. They will hypocritically not tell you how constant price changes keep impoverishing them and other Nigerians. They will never admit that they have been blinded by the false hope given to them by their party.

The day Nigerians realize that political leadership is not like soccer playing, leadership will get better. It is a very serious issue where who you choose as your leader determines what happens to you and your family.

Recently even the northern elders forum have repeated how they regretted supporting the present leader. Unfortunately many were bewitched/hoodwinked/hypnotized to believe that a savior had come. What will happen if you admit that your leader is a failure and look for a new and better one?

It is a very big shame that our youths cannot support and ensure that a youthful leader, healthy, strong, politically wise can ascend the position. It happened in France, just like other countries. In Nigeria, the youths choose to support elders close to and above 80 years who will give them pittances during campaigns and further impoverish themafter election. Out of their shame, they will never complain. Nonsense people.

Olujimi must throw away her pride and settle with Fayose.

That old battle over her role in 2006 as his deputy then seems not forgotten or forgiven. That cost her two years ago and may keep haunting her attempts to become the governor of Ekiti state. With Fayose on her side, her chances are far brighter.

You call it illegal refinery but I can it local refinery. Do you know how many people are employed there? How many jobs has buhari government created since 2015? Truth is these local refinery can be better because like it or not they produce fuel, kerosene and other good products which people are using.
The issue here is that government has refuse to give them operating lisense and encouragement so they can build themselves to standard.
These local refineries are our solution to fuel importation not DANGOTE REFINERY that is taking years to kick off. The rich cabal knows this that's why they are fustrating them.
As for the black soot, that is not a problem as government can relocate them to areas that are non residential and declare that area uninhabitable. We have many forest in Nigeria that fulani herldsmen have turn to their homes, why don't we convert them to industrial estates?
If these oil was in the north , even suya seller would have been given lisense to operate a local refinery.

If Nigerians cannot choose from these listed individuals then they should be ready for 50% inflation rate by 2024.
As for osibanjo, he cannot take us for fools, he and is godfather have been silent for over 7 years and continue to hail the incompetent buhari government just because they are eyeing the presidential seat. We reject them already. Nigeria cannot become Somalia. The day osibanjo taught that transfering 10k to people will help them out of poverty amist 15% inflation rate was the day I knew he has no economic acumen. Infact he is just as wicked as every politican out there.
When they are unlicensed they are illegal. Let’s call a spade a spade in this matter.

Do you know that there are what they call Modular refineries now in this country? These are mini refineries licensed by the government. The fact here in this matter is that certain greedy persons in those areas claim that oil belong to them and they can actually do what they like. How many people are employed? The police and Nscdc personnel guarding those places are already employed people, yet they make illegal income guarding those places.

They are NOT local refineries and they are not even refineries. Refineries have standard operating procedures and one of them is how to manage the environment. These greedy people do not care about the environment and that’s a major problem. No responsible government will sit back and watch certain persons continually pollute the environment in addition to what they presently experience from the legitimate organizations and keep quiet.

Governor Wike must be commended for this action. Hopefully these illegal refineries are shut down before the people begin to suffer cancer and other dangerous health related matters.

Cheers.

vanbonattel:
The police will be quick to obey this order just because of who's involved. Call governor about herdsmen attack and wiping out a village in the south and the Police commissioners or GOC will need to speak to Abuja before intervening.

The governors should have powers to police their states totally. This Abuja controlled set of crime enablers called police are utterly ineffective.
The fact will always remain that the herdsmen are fully protected by not just the president but other men in power of the same tribe. Anytime they speak against the activities of the evil herdsmen, notice that it is not only hypocritical, but little or no action is taken. Each time communities and governors make attempts to fight back, there is resistance from Abuja and more advantage given to the herdsmen. How some northern politicians in power can sleep calmly with the level of killing and destruction presently going on is very mind boggling. How they are able to finance and support such evil going on around the country makes one want to throw up.

The GOCs and police commands only apparently only get instruction on herdsmen from Abuja because of the way they set it up.

The principal reason greedy politicians from the north are asking for power to remain in the north is that the want to completely take over the country and lands belonging to others. Notice that the northern okada riders in Lagos, who are very violent, always claim that they are in power and can do whatever they choose.

Once again I want to say that this country has arrived at the stage where everyone should go their separate ways. With the way things are, anyone agitating for this country to remain as one must be one of those crooks in political robes looting the country.
