Young people should ask questions about history and get the right answers. Don’t dabble into things that you absolutely do not have an idea.

Delta state was formed out of the old Bendel state. In creating that state, there was an agitation to IBB for the carving out of three states, namely Delta state, Anioma state and Edo state. Delta state was for those areas now known as Delta south and central. The then armed forces ruling council looked at it and chose to create only two states. The story then was that IBB’s wife, Maryam Babangida who was from Asaba, influenced her husband to make Asaba the capital, rather than Warri, which would have been the capital of Delta state. In one stroke they attached Delta and Anioma, making Asaba the capital. The protests were ignored.

Anioma was proposed to include the whole Delta north, with Onitsha and Ogbaru as part of the state. Onitsha was proposed as the capital, but it was not passed. The agitation is very much alive, with the request to make Anioma the sixth Igbo state.

Anioma state will comprise of the cities and towns that make up Delta north, Onitsha as a whole and Ogbaru. You may go and verify.

Your claim of Ika being Edo state is not known. Some of you live in self denial. Edos do not recognize you and yet can’t find peace. You are not Igbo, yet your names are completely Igbo. You are not Igbo, yet your words are Igbo. Maybe you do not even know that Agbor is also IPOB territory.

I think Asaba must be rated among the fastest growing state capitals in Nigeria. Okowa has played his role with the state capital development under Mrakpor. Infrastructures are wonderful and working.

The area from Shoprite and Okpanam city gate is unbelievable. The roads are well made and drainages are properly made to complement. Infact you feel very safe and you feel like you are living in an estate in Asaba. Okowa seriously improved on what he met on ground in Asaba. For those who claim that Okowa did not work, please visit Asaba. My sincere hope is that BEDC will do the necessary job of improving electricity in Delta state.

Development comes when the necessary structures are in place. Asaba used to be like a small area before 1999 with cheap lands, but it has opened it up completely. Prominent is the airport. Deltans and Anambrarians use the airport.

The development of Asaba opened up neighboring areas like Isele Azagba, Isele Uku, Igbuzor, Ogwashi uku and now Oko Amakom, Anala, because also of the second Niger bridge.

Migration from the other side of the bridge did not just start in the recent years. Far from it. Igbos move around and they contribute to growth. Delta north is an Igbo area. Before now Igbos from across the Niger had their presence, trading as usual. They purchased lands when they were much cheaper and built. The expansion of Onitsha spilled into neighbouring areas in Idemmili, Okoti, Odiekpe and the rest of Anambra state. Properties became very expensive and people moved.

The recent development with IPOB sped up the migration across, with people needing secure areas to live and trade. Now the multiplier effect is found not only in Asaba, but in Agbor, Warri, Ughelli, etc.

There are property companies all over Delta state contributing to the development, with cheaper lands and security. There is a rush for the lands and all those areas daily open up.

Hopefully Deltans who have not been to their state in the recent years, or have never, can visit. I assure you that you WILL choose to live there.

I thought as much that you are not very clear on the operation. Do you know the reason why Putin chose to use pmc in Ukraine? Firstly, Russian laws have a lot of bureaucratic approach to things and that's why the war in Ukraine is not called a war but a special military operation which requires minimal use of state forces. This is the reason why a lot of Russian soldiers are not partaking in the conflict despite having an active force of over 800k soldiers and more than 2m reserves. To use more of the forces, the state would have to transition into a CTO(counter terrorism operation) which would have its own limited use of force too but more powers than when under the SMO. If Russia decides to transition into a full scale war, then they would need to use every weapon and forces available. Transitioning into a full scale war would mean that the economy of the country would also transition into wartime economy. Putin didn't want that to happen as it would reduce the growth of the economy as reserves who are serving in various sectors of the economy, would have to be drafted to the war front. That's why he chose to use the option of private military contractors which doesn't affect the smooth running of the economy. Prior to now, Wagner had roughly about 7k fighters at the beginning. Russia encouraged Wagner by giving them weapons and everything they needed to recruit fighters. Prigozhin's actions in constantly challenging the defense headquarters led to them mandating all volunteers to sign a contract with the ministry of defense so they can be easily regulated but he clearly refused to sign. Not signing a contract automatically means you cannot be deployed to anywhere on the front and knowing he was going to remain redundant without that, is what led to this his rebellion.

Yes. Chenchen Republic leader(kadyrov) had sent a convoy of troops to Rostovondon to counter the wagnerites and a bloodbath was about to occur. I was following the whole conflict from when it broke out in the morning with live feeds of videos of everything happening inside of Russia being posted on the channels I follow. Some of the Wagner commanders even abandoned prigozhin and clearly stated they would not go against the president. Some were told they were going for a visit to the southern military command and weren't even aware of prigozhin's intentions only to find out at the dying minute and withdrew their troops. He lost Wagner because he is going on exile forever in Belarus and cannot actively control the Wagner group while in exile as he would be under 24 hrs security watch. What would happen after that is still unclear but it's obvious that the Wagner group would be disbanded after this rebellion. They have committed treason against the state and cannot be allowed to function even if pardoned. Russia is not a banana republic that anything goes.

You talk about Lagos, New York, etc. Have you ever wondered about China or India? Take your time to read about Japan, its growth and people and you'll find that your jagbajantis talk has nothing to do with races and tribes.

Some of you are so tribalistic and have absolutely lost your senses of proper reasoning. Rather than ensure that proper leaders are put in place, you think that one tribe is more superior than others and so others cannot properly develop.

Why not talk about other parts of the south west, SS, or the north of the country, where life is hellish for Nigerians there? Nigeria has been rated as the poverty capital of the world. How will that narrative change?
