Only two people from the South south and south east made tinubu's list out of the 19 appointments Only one ogala from enugu And one Major General Undiandeye from Cross River..imagine two giant region combined..
Tinubu is a disaster If you are a true Nigerian and you don't see anything wrong here then am sorry you will never live to see the Progress of Nigeria That ogalla is yet to be confirmed from my computer if he is really from enugu...it is showing me kogi state
O boy...so na only Undiandeye from Cross River na tinubu see...so na only one he pick..
Tinubu is a disaster waiting to happen Systematically the north took over the entire security structure of this country with lopsided appointments. They absolutely have northerners holding the high, middle and lower ranks of the entire security structure. The situation therefore is that when one northerner is removed, the next in line is another northerner because the southerners are sought of limited. The case of the customs is one of those. Get to the ports and borders in the south and you mostly hear is Hausa or Fulani language. It was not so until 2015 when that baba became the President. In the entire appointments made, Egbetokun made me laugh. Recently promoted to the position of a DIG and now the acting IG because he’s connected to BAT. People complained of nepotism, tribalism, etc against Buhari; how can one describe this appointment, especially with other DIGs ahead of him. Those other DIGs now must lose their jobs, as is the practice. |

ucheicon: Chijioke Edeoga is an electoral thief who attempted to steal the gubernatorial election. They padded the votes of Nsukka LG by 12000+ votes;Isi-Uzo by about 3000 and undercounted PDP votes in Enugu-East lg by 2000 votes. These facts can be confirmed by collating the polling units results on IREV. For Nsukka LG,do that for Ihe,Iheakpu and Obukpa wards. For Isi-Uzo,Mgbuji ward. PDP votes was undercounted in Nkanu-East by about 1600+ votes.

Politics › Re: LASG Should Build An Ultra Modern Market At Alaba by Cantonese: 9:58am On Jun 19, 2023 |
Maybe you guys need to know the history of the place called Alaba international market. That place was started and supported by a group of individuals right from 1979 when most of you on this forum were not born. Other people joined over the years, purchasing lands and building structures, to make up what you hear of today
It's very unfortunate that most of you fellows hear of Alaba international market, but have never and will never be there
Your suggestion of building an ultra modern market in a place where properties are 100% privately owned sounds very funny. Ojo local government is one of the richest, not only in Lagos State, but the entire federation. The local government with the humongous amounts collected as revenue from the area, has not been able to fix the major road. The Oba and agberos gave not been able to influence the local government to fix the road. What you see there largely is self help.
There is another adjoining place called Alaba rago. That's on the Badagry highway. That's where you find the slums and northerners. Because you do not have the faintest idea of the area, you do not know that government needs to do something about the dangerous state of the environment there.
Residential buildings remain as they are except they have warehouses under them. Plazas and shops are clearly where they are with no dispute over them.
Where you call old residential buildings were built either by the traders themselves or the Aworis, who did not sell the lands that they were built on.
If you want to know about Alaba market, get your transport fare, get there and ask from the traders and Aworis there |

He could have simply said Akpabio gave him full support and every necessary assistance needed during his campaign to be governor, since he knew Akpabio was a sitting governor then, to avoid this unnecessarily making Akpabio to make clarification. But Nigerians empower the leaders with their uncommon support for the looting. When you support brazen looters, you empower them with more confidence to carry on. So it does not matter anymore if they boldly state how much they spend publicly. |

MrBrownJay1: the problem here is not the US (who obviously only thought about themselves when placing bases all over Europe), its the countries right at the doorsteps of Russia/Belarus (Like Germany/France etc) that could be hit with nuclear weapon even before anyone reacts. remember, Russia has 50 submarines all over the world carrying nuclear weapon.
do you think they were joking when they said they could wipe the whole UK from the face of the earth?! Russia is controlling the situation. Unfortunately what may unfold is placing nuclear or chemical weapons in the hands of terrorists. Lukashenko in bragging has said that he can use the weapons. You all seem to think that nuclear wars are limited to particular places or locations. When atomic bombs were dropped in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the effects were felt in cities around the areas. Putin would not dare attack any NATO country, including intending members with nuclear weapons in Europe. He knows that and that's why he clearly said there would be no need for that. You all do not realise that in the unfortunate event of the use of nuclear by any nation, no one will be alive the next day to narrate the story. That includes African nations. I wonder how you expect Russia to attack the UK with nuclear weapons, and yet remain intact. I wonder how even Russia can attack Ukraine with nuclear weapons and its citizens within certain cities not to feel the impact. |

Politics › Re: So What Has Tinubu Achieved? A Fair Critique! by Cantonese: 2:12pm On Jun 18, 2023 |
Validated: So, someone asked me what my governor has achieved in the last 3 weeks as compared to Tinubu's achievement. So, I started to think and here is my reply.
My state is Delta, which is PDP controlled. In my state, we do not consider appointments as achievements, we do not applaud sacking old hands and replacing them as achievement. We only applaud actions that positively impact people's lives, future and wellbeing. Those applauding signing of Bill's and making new appointments are only celebrating mediocrity.
So, let us take a critical look at what Tinubu, has he achieved in 3 weeks that his followers are celebrating?
Before I proceed, I would ask NL mod to read my posts and not apply bias banning button as usual for topics against Tinubu
Let's start with student loans act. I call it "Student loan without hope" because nobody is qualified to access the loan as passed. Which family still earns less than N500k in Nigeria and also pays tax to be able to get TCC? None, because with such salary, you do not pay tax? So, nothing changed as no Nigerian can access the loan. I know you may not comprehend. Go and study the act, only those whose family income are below N500k are eligible. For such family to exist, the father and mother would each earn about N21k per month. That is below minimum wage and such peope do not pay taxes.
Second is floating Naira ... which country do you know that floats her currency? Travel, you people won't. No country has dollar market as we do in Nigeria. Brazil, Russia, India, China and SA (BRICS) are looking to hold their currencies against the $, we are here praising the one swallowing IMF pills, hook, line and stinkers, plus the fisherman's boot. The naira will keep on weakening because we are an import dependent nation and our balance of trade is permanently negative. Meaning, we spend more $$ than we earn. Even our president that ought to get treatment in Aso Rock clinic is going to boost France economy with his medical tourism , probably every 3 weeks interval.
Petrol subsidy removal? Hahaha! You guys knows nothing about economics. I know you are buying petrol now at N510, that is old stock now. Wait when the next imported stock comes, you will pay N800. That is in a couple of months from now. The knee-jerk decisions were to excite you, but you know what, your suffering just began. A well planned approach would have ensure atleast 50% local production before removal of subsidy. As it stand, with $$ at N760, if you buy petrol next two months at N510, just know Tinubu paid subsidy for it
Sacking CBN governor, so? Has that helped your Naira that has now depreciated by 50%? Was that not expected? The man was there from Jonathan to Buhari to Tinubu. Has he not tried? Let's try other people, so nothing new here. Afteral, all Buhari's ministers have also left office.
You people fell upon one another that stock market was boosted. How? Because you gained 10% in Naira terms and lose 50% in $$ terms? Ask Dangote and Bua how much they lost in $$ terms, about $10billion. When we are singing praises, we should think them through. Ask, what changed?
Some even praised the list if 43 items not qualified for forex as achievement. How? Those have always been there under Emefiele now. I was hoping that Tinubu would expand it to include artificial, non-value adding items like medical tourism, estacodes, foreign legal and administrative payments, etc. Duh, he knows those will affect him and his entourage.
Lastly, you do not know that with the signed student loan, comes tuition fees, that was free before Tinubu? O! You never read that the loan is to help you pay tuition? You borrow if ever you qualify, you pay tuition, you graduate, then no job. You cannot payback. Tinubu will throw you, your guarantors into jail.
So, my friends, lets stop applauding appoinments, signing of bills. Buhari signed more bills than GEJ and Yardua put together. Where did it take us? These are signs of celebration of mediocrity.
So far, Tinubu has achieved absolutely NOTHING!!! 100%. “ Petrol subsidy removal? As it stand, with $$ at N760, if you buy petrol next two months at N510, just know Tinubu paid subsidy for it”. 1000%. |

SmartyPants: But if you agree that PMB's policies were not good, then why do you disagree with BAT changing them even if its just to assuage the mood of the people?
In any case, I'm not so sure that it is true that BAT's moves have been populist. Removing fuel subsidies, which is the main move he's made, has not been populist at all, since the masses are most inconvenienced by the short term effects.
Harmonizing the exchange regimes is not populist either since to the common man there's really no difference between the new harmonized rates and the old parallel market rate that was accessible to the public.
These policies, when taken together will ensure that fuel prices will certainly stay up and there will be some increase in other associated costs such as food and transportation.
So are these policies populist in real terms? No, I did not disagree with the policy of ending subsidy. My complain remains that it should have been allowed to take effect in 2014. By now, Nigerians would have been enjoying the benefits, if the looting politicians would ever allow. Nigerians, including BAT seem to have been bamboozled in 2014, making them protest and absolutely rejecting the removal. Having suffered the effects in the last eight years, including embezzlements (which I always emphasize), the same BAT, having felt the mood of the people, reverted to it. Next, the multiplier effect of subsidy removal is already felt, as you can see, with the cost of living. For me, we should expect more increases, with the naira valued presently at 664 and fuel importers who get their forex from the banks, expected to spend more naira for imports. Expect the price of fuel to increase, until the refineries are able to work. May I ask why the previous regime, part of which BAT was, led Nigeria to such terrible state? |

SmartyPants: Your conclusion does not follow your argument.
You laid the foundation by claiming populist polocies dont work.
You concluded by asserting the need for accountable leadership.
These are completely separate trains of thought. Certainly they are different things wound up together in putting my conclusion. I am largely concerned about our nation and the quality of leaders that we have. I am concerned about the citizens and the tendencies to support wrong leaders. Even the leaders ask the people to be careful with their choices. Again in talking about populist policies, I simply drew our attention to events of many years ago, when most of those on this forum were not born. With the benefit of hindsight, can we say that the present moves of the Federal government are not the same as those of GEJ? People got tired of PMB’s horrible policies and needed a change. Those same policies before PMB are the same they we see today, is it not so? Is it not that government felt the mood of the people and took advantage of it, just like IBB did? |

Politics › Re: Watch Out! Tinubu Will Be Nigeria's Best President Ever, Says Matawalle by Cantonese: 7:52am On Jun 17, 2023 |
How are his policies different from GEJ’s?
When PMB became the Nigerian head of state in Dec 31, 1985, his government introduced policies that were quite harsh on Nigerians. IBB and Sani Abacha removed him from office and quickly introduced populist policies. Nigerians jumped when IBB asked Nigerians their opinion about either an IMF loan or what was called structural adjustment program. Nigerians by preferred SAP and the rest became history. IBB systematically reduced this country to its knees with his bad policies.
One of his policies the was the then second tier foreign exchange market in September 1986. By this policy the naira was devalued and it became an issue up till this day.
The same popular policies are what we see today with fuel and foreign exchange.
Nigerians are in for a very long ride until they choose to elect leaders who they can hold accountable. Our leaders travel to Europe, Asia, USA and see how developed their societies are. They embezzle public funds in Nigeria and take such funds abroad to enjoy decent societies. Blind Nigerians who do not know how societies work support them to continue the embezzlement. Until Nigerians wake up from their slumber, wahala go remain. |

DodadaKoKigbe: Nonsense. Even in America ( aka 'saner climes') senators make sure they direct projects to their constituents. STOP excusing the incompetence of Igbo politicians. They're the MOST incompetent in Nigeria because their people are governed by emotions not reality. This myopic statement really is very funny. How do you qualify competent politicians in Nigeria? With the terrible state of infrastructures in this country, how are you able to sing the praise of any of the politicians? Can you confidently say that one state is better than others, looking at how the states are all systematically underdeveloped by thieving politicians? If the politicians put in half of what they loot in the funds for constituency projects nationwide, our country should be rated among the best developed nations by now. Funds for constituency projects are released to politicians and such funds are used as private funds to make them live better lives. When they release pittances under funny names, you praise them. Venture out to better countries and you”ll spit on the faces of all our politicians. You all sang the praises of Buhari and his government was expected to be upright. Corruption in his government was worse than even the much villified GEJ’s government. Until the citizens vote for accountable leaders, gullible ones will continue to wallow in hardship, bewitchment and poverty. |
