okorogodwin4:You are ingrates, that’s why everywhere you go there is always friction. Among yourselves friction amongst others friction. |
SmartPolician:True but he could have given you culture, sports, humanitarian affairs etc. |
saintkel:Zik is only known in Nigeria. Nkrumah, Mandela, Sadat, Haile sellassie are known all over the world talk less Africa. There is currently no Nigerian politician living or dead that has acheived world statesman status, importance or recognition. Wiz kid, Davido Burna Boy etc are 100 times more recognized than the most recognized of Nigerian politicians. |
clinician2x:Words of an ignoramus. |
codemaster2much:Just because you have a car with better economy does not mean you will get good economy. If you drive like a fool up and down like all those Uber drivers and 419 boys with tokunbo Lexus and Camry accelerating braking changing lanes anyhow, your car will not give you any good fuel economy whatever car you drive. When tests we’re done for fuel economy, they did not involve driving like a mad man. |
smokinloud:Abeg don’t mind them, they never learn because they always blame others. APC got 8.7m votes down from 12.7m in 2019….what kind of rigging is that? PDP and it’s splinter groups got 14m votes up from 10m in 2019 what kind of rigging is that? They dont want to take responsibility for the basic schoolboy error of not recognizing that election is simple arithmetic. Their ego is why Tinubu is president despite getting 8.7m and they are not despite getting 14.7m. If one has decided to step down for the other, one would be president and the other vice. All this talk about it must be south is not absolute. Shebi Tinubu and Shettima are Muslims, heaven has not fallen, nobody is talking about both being Muslims anymore. Similarly if Obi had swallowed his pride he would be Vice President today. Heaven would not have fallen if north handed power to north. Pride goes before a fall. Tinubu swallowed his pride went to beg Buhari, waited 8 years, today he is president….. against all odds! Obi through his ego has blown his chance of ever becoming Nigerias president and wasted the faith and momentum of his supporters. |
mrvitalis:It’s as of Nigerians do not know how the elections work. Irev is not for collation of results, Irev is merely a viewing portal for the public…it has no legal status. Whatever is shown on irev is unimportant if it does not match what is on the form signed at each polling unit. Whatever is shown on irev takes its origin from form EC8A which all parties have a copy. You cannot rig the election by changing or delaying uploading to irev in so far as part6 agents have copies of the original EC8A. You don’t collate results based on irev, you collate results based on form EC8A. Every party and the police has a copy of form EC8A. Any party telling you otherwise is lying to you because they do not want to show you the results of the tabulation of the forms EC8A that they all have in their possession.. If they didn’t tender EC8A in court it is because they do not want to and the question is why do they not want to tender their EC8 forms in court? Perhaps because they know they didn’t win and so therefore focuses all their efforts on trying to disqualify the winner by all means including the ridiculous. Let us use Lagos as a test case. After the elections they say they got 1m votes in Lagos. Lagos is not a backward or remote place where LP or PDP did not have party agents in every polling unit. So it means they have copies of the true results…why did they not tender those in court….perhaps because there was no 1m votes in Lagos? I can understand areas where you are not popular but If you are popular enough to get substantial votes in an area then you are popular enough to have party agents there. So tender the EC8 forms your party agents signed…is it that hard? |
LordIsaac:No answer to that one. Maybe if they continue to lose by stupid tactics, they will eventually borrow themselves some brain. |
It is neither INEc nor our laws nor the judic that needs reform, it is Nigerians that need reform. You didn’t win an election but you claim you won, you went to court you did not provide any evidence you won, instead you start to attack the umpire and the court. How anyone can think because I live in Abuja, my vote is more important than the vote of the man in Ibadan or Auchi is befuddling. How you can say you won, did not show where your votes were stolen and expect to be declared winner is befuddling. You say I stole your property but provide no evidence of me in possession of your property or evidence that your property is even missing and you say I must be declared the person who stole your property. How you can split your base and expect to win is befuddling. How you can base your case on things that the constitution say have a time limit and are outside the time limit and expect to win is befuddling. |
I remember this man, he gave Mandela hell. RIP. |
Bukola94:there is nothing like a V4 engine all 4 cylinder engines are straight except Subaru boxer flat 4 (similar to Porsche 911's flat 6). V only exists in 2 cylinder(usually motorcycles) , 5 (volkswagen had a v5), 6, 8 or 12. the whole point of a V is to create a compact engine. a 4 cylinder engine is already compact so it makes no sense to create a V4 and then add the expense of creating 2 cylinder heads, 2 additional camshafts etc per branch...hence V4 made no sense does not solve any problem and was never made. EDIT: actually I am wrong, V4s do exist but they are usually found in motorcycles or racing cars. There is no production car in the modern era that uses a V4 engine. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V4_engine |
Bukola94:This world has its perculiarities, you go to somewhere like edo and they seem to like golfs and jettas (at least last time I was there), you go to Ibadan it seems Micra is their official car, In lagos toyota rules. you to the the states, lexus and Honda are popular, in the Uk only old people drive lexus and honda. In Nigeria the only mercedes that are really valued are the G-wagon or GLE......Different strokes, different folks. |
Bukola94:Normally the fuel injectors are before the valve, so as petrol enters the engine through the port it cleans the carbon deposits on the valve along the way. VW went big on direct injection some years ago, in DI the injector is after the valve directly in the cylinder so the cleaning action of petrol flowing over the valves does not happen. In time carbon builds up on the valves and causes premature and sometimes catrastrophic engine failure. VW in particular is noted for this. To resolve this they created a hybrid of normal port and direct which gives the advantages of direct and the cleaning properties of port. Avoid models with direct only. they are cheap for a reason.

Bukola94:In Nigeria I will also advice you stick to toyota. You probably wont listen but thats ok. I was like that when i was young, i bought whatever car i wanted because it was what i wanted even though it made no sense or wasnt practical or was a car that had no resale value. Its a phase of life we all go through and probably some of us need to go through to get it out of our system, gain the experience so we know 1st hand what works and what doesnt. lol toyotas are the most uninspiring and boring cars in this world but they are the most reliable, rugged, easily maintained, available parts and easy to sell. it also depends on where you live, if you live in Lagos there are no roads to really enjoy your car. if you are buying a volkswagen or Audi, stay away from models with direct port injection. |
Bukola94:exactly lol CVT is continous variable transmission, its a kind of automatic transmission..problematic from what I hear, i have never had a car with one. |
Bukola94:a 1.6 is most definitely a 4 cylinder engine, the 1.6 stands for the size of the engine and the i stands for fuel injection. VTEC is simply about the valve technology..just fancy marketing, there was a time when Honda used to label their cars ABS when ABS just came out, every car has ABS today. Every car these days is fuel injected and most cars have some sort of advanced variable valve technology. Variable valve technology simply means the computer varies how much the valve opens to let in petrol and air depending on how you are driving, this aids performance and fuel economy. |
Bukola94:You r welcome |
Bukola94:An inline 6 (aka straight 6 or I6) has all six cylinders in a straight line, wheras a v6 has 2 banks of 3 cylinders in a V. If your car is a front wheel drive, it is not an Inline 6 because a I6 engine is long, there is no space in a front wheel drive car to fit an inline 6 sideways as well as the transmission. There has never been a Honda with an Inline 6, all Honda 6 cylinders ) and most Japanese 6s today are V6. Toyota and Nissan used to use i6s when they made RWD cars like the old Supra and old 280zx of the 1980s. See below the different types of 6 cylinder engines. VR6 was used by Volkswagen and flat 6 is used in Porsche 911. I should also add, you often hear people talking about V4, there is nothing like a V4 engine.

Throwback:Oseni is not a journalist full stop! With the exeption of Abati, none of them are trained journalists.....full stop! presenter is not the same as journalist. |
blesdman:A v6 is an inherently unbalanced engine, very few manufacturers get it right. You have 2 banks of 3 cylinders that don’t move up and down together in balance, hence the need for counterweights which introduces other problems. One of the reasons Mercedes V6 are problematic and they stopped making them…their current 6 cylinder engines are straight six engines also known as inline 6. . Toyota make some of the best V6s. The V6 was one of the reason that led to the problems of Citroen. They went bust and the French government forced Peugeot to buy them to save jobs. BMW have never made a V6 and the only time Mercedes ventured into the V6 world it damaged their reputation with unreliable engines. The Mercedes with a V6 is one of the cars you are advised to stay away from used. |
AutoHubNG:These days with turbo and twin turbos, no of cylinders is no longer an indication of power or how fast a car can go. There are turbocharged 4 cylinder cars have more power than some V8s. The Merced c63 with a 4 cylinder has almost 50% more power than an s580 with a V8! I expected you to talk about things. Like the smoothness of an engine and the sound because apart from the number of cylinders that’s the real difference between, 4,6,8 and 12 cylinder engines. 4 cylinder engines are usually very harsh and noisy, There is a difference between V6 and in line 6 (the most perfectly balanced engine is the I6 so it is the smoothest. Because a v12 is essentially 2 inline 6 put together it is also a very smooth engine. V6 and v8 depends on the angle of the V you usually have 60 or 90degree. V8s tend to have an angry rumble like you get in AmG V8 ( although that is accentuated by the exhaust) EDIT: I forgot to add that no of cylinders is synonymous with low end torque. So you usually have to rev a 4 cylinder harder (i.e closer towards the red line) than say a V8 although again the introduction of turbos has impacted this. |
Allisgud:Power is power, power is the ability to change lives, to influence events, circumstances, laws, destinies, fortunes to grant access etc. Power comes in all forms, but money is money. There is no distinction between hush puppy and Dangote when they go to the Rolls Royce dealer. But when you get to the embassy, the social club, the ministry, institutions, conferences, constituting boards, recognizing leaders in society, you will understand the difference between money and power. Even a Mai guard has power and can deny you the richest of men access if he so deems and his of dubious character he can make money by granting acccess. There are offices where the secretary is very powerful, because he/she determines whether you get to see oga or not. You cannot see the president without clearance by the chief of staff. He is the gatekeeper, it doesn’t matter that the president is your friend or you have money. The permanent secretary who decides to recommend the banning the importation of rice for example has the power to make or break multiple rich in that industry with the stroke of his pen. If you were a rich man today you can go broke tomorrow as a result or you can become an instant millionaire as a result. That is power! That is the difference between power and money. Your money does not affect my life, what you do with power can!! Dangote’s money does not make a difference to my life, what the speaker in the house of assembly or House of Representatives does while he is there does. Dangotes money does not affect my life, Dangote’s ability to affect the price of cement or petrol in future does. Another example is the NL.C president, the guy looks, talks and behaves like someone you see under a tree drinking ogogoro at best at a beer parkour. Yet everyday he is going in and out of ASO rock, all eyes on him, he can bring the country to its knees, one day he will get national award. Yet there are rich men many legitimate and hard working who have never been inside a governors office or ASO rock, never been invited and never will be, cannot call a governor or president and will never get national honors. Why? Because he is the president of the NLC…..that is power. If his wife annoys him tomorrow and he decides he wants aviation workers to strike, your flight is cancelled!!! Ordinarily, he is supposed to be a struggling man certainly not supposed to be wealthy but by his position and power he cannot be poor because there are legitimate and illegimate means of wealth by virtue of his power, influence and position. If he is poor it is because he has no interest in money or he squandered the money he made |
OvertheTop:Not all the time. Do you know how to know a rich man with no power? He makes a lot of noise to flaunt his wealth. Because he has acquired the wealth and hasn’t got the power he craves. People with both power and wealth are not loud. Power comes from influence and relevance but if you have money but no influence and relevance, you are just a rich man. When I say influence I mean you are relevant in your sector. For instance you are a successful farmer and a big player in rice farming. You are rich and you are powerful because of your influence in that sector not because you are rich. If they are talking rice they must talk to you…..that is the source of your power not your money. That is the mistake people make, they have money but they have no influence so they have no power and start throwing money around. Dangote is not powerful because he is rich, Dangote is powerful because he controls many sectors of the economy….understand the difference. Like I said there are many 419s, drug dealers who are rich. There are also rich men in the same industries Dangote plays in that are not powerful and get wiped out. There are many instances. They are/were rich but not powerful or powerful enough. |
Hezzyluv:You are clearly very immature or unexposed to power. |
The best 100 days in office since 1999. In fact the only good 100 days since 1999. I score him a 7.5/10. |
The best way I can put it is this. If you have money you are not guaranteed power. If you have power you are guaranteed money if you want to use your power to make money. Why do you think our politicians do anything and will take any position to remain relevant despite most of them already having made enough money while in office? |
ukaface:There is a limit to this. Look at the number of drug dealers and fraudsters in Nigeria. What power do they have? Do you see any of them at Aso rock or governors lodge, investment summits, traveling with the president toG20 meeting or social functions of private members clubs… no!!!! With all their money they cannot enter Ikoyi club. It’s only hungry people they can oppress. Meanwhile everyday you see average people with power wining and dining with the president and the likes of Dangote. There are people of average means but with power who the richest of men do not mess with. There are people with money and no one cares about the and with all their money they had e no access to real power hence they flaunt their wealth with noise. Hezzyluv:Read the above |
nwakibie3:Nonsense. The most powerful people is most countries (Top Civil servants) are not rich….and they can make or break the richest of men. |
Hezzyluv:A man with power can never lack money, if he lacks money it is because he is not motivated by money. e.g a principled public official/ civil servant, . |
let us hope it leads to progress and development in the SE. It is the interest of the rest of Nigeria for the SE to develop and create jobs there for their people...otherwise they will migrate to your zones and bring their problems. |
Dundalk:That’s more like it. Make una no allow una names disappear o. We for south dey bear our traditional names even if we add Muslim or Christian name join. |
Ibrahimlagosian:are you sure Faruk is a hausa name? I know it is a name found in many islamic countries from turkey to bangladesh to the middle east. |
