slowice:but you want to be declared winner based on technicalities in an election you did not win and did not attempt to prove you won |
ValarDoharis:educate yourself/yourselves it makes no difference. I am not saying there is or will be anything but even if there is the supreme court is an appeal court, it is the final appeal court, you cannot introduce anything that you didnt introduce at the lower court. you are appealing a judgement based on what you presented at the lower court, again I reemphasise you cannot introduce new matters, new evidence, new witnesses, new petitions. When you go to a higher court and appeal the judgement of a lower court, you are saying the judgement was wrong based on what you submitted, your witnesses etc...again you cant introduce anything new. This is an exercise in futility |
iammo:PDP made the right call, if they had given the ticket to Obi, at least 4m of the 6.7m PDP votes would have gone to APC. Their only hope was with Atiku and as scores panned out they were right to go with Atiku. Obi is the one that sabotaged the Ibos and the PDP. If he had stayed in PDP, and bargained with SE votes as leverage for VP slot, he would be VP today and the front runner for presidency in 2027 or 2031 depending on how many terms Atiku stayed for. I made a post as far back as 2022 before the primaries that Atiku was PDPs best chance, at the time I said there was no guarantee he would win but if is only Atiku that can win for PDP. Well he came second. |
DamnnNiggarr:This is exactly what I am saying and while I do not like Obasanjo, he has clarified the situation. They were disrespectful to their boss. The governor is their boss. The previous news reports made it seem he was upset because they didn’t stand up for him, which as an ex president he has no right. |
Stoplying:You are clearly an ignoramus and an 1mbec1le, First you say allowance is not salary. Then we show you official government gazette showing that they were salaried. You clearly do not know the significance of a government gazette. When I was growing up ( I grew up in a civil service household) until something is gazetted, it is not taken as official. Those who understand the British, know the difference between allowance and salary talk less in official records. A gazette is an official notice. . Such is the importance of. A gazetted that I am not guilty of breaking a law that has not been gazetted. That is how important a gazette is in governance. Whatever is in a gazette is official. Every significant action of a government is gazzetted, down to the employment of cleaners, creation of ministries, import duty etc even sending staff on training course, scholarships, redeployment of staff etc. The records of some government gazzettes in Africa can be found here by country: https://gazettes.africa/. Those predating 1957 can be found at the national archives. Note: This is Monday morning, my intention was to ignore you so I am not responding for your sake but to enlighten others, do not bother reponding to me as it will be met with an ignore. Mor0n calling himself intellectual and not even making an attempt to display intellect! Even allowance, why would a king be paid an allowanance talk less salary? Your intellect did not prompt you that true kings collect Royalties? Hence the “Royal” in royalties. Allowance or salary implies subordination. If a “king” is being paid a salary, the gazette would say salary, similar for allowance or royalties. The only reason why Nigerian emirs, obas etc still exist in Nigeria is because the British were understaffed. At the time there was 1 Colonial administrator for every 100,000 Nigerians not to talk of the vast geographical area plus they were dying at an alarming rate….9.7% of those seconded to Nigeria died of tropical diseases. British civil servants feared secondment to Nigeria. So vast was the British empire at the time and so understaffed were they that at one time they actually “sold” or leased Nigeria to the Royal Niger company in return for royalties from palm oil etc. The Royal Niger company is the forefather of the companies you know today as UAC, Unilever etc. So traditional kings were retained to help administer the colony in return for which they were salaried and allowed to save face by retaining their titles. In the North it was a different system, they were retained to collect taxes and kept 25% of taxes collected. Your call yourself King, yet you are paid a salary by the same people collecting royalties on produce from the land you claim you are King over…who is fooling who?
|
Stoplying:All this nonsense to prove you are ignorant and daft. Traditional rulers are employees of state governments, that is why governors confirm and remove them. Previously they were employees of the British colonial governments and upon independence their “employment was transferred to regional governments which later became state governments. It does hurt to do some res search, reading won’t make you go blind. Just one quick google search revealed the following. You people call yourselves the internet generation, it doesn’t cost you anything to do a quick 30 second search before you come on the internet making a fool of yourself. Despite your obvious ignorance, I hope you are educated and intelligent enough to know the importance of a government gazette and the meaning of the word salary in an official gazette. “GRADING AND SALARIES OF CHIEFS IN THE SOUTHERN PROVINCES IN 1938 Paragraph 4 "The Salaries of the First and Second Class Chiefs in the Southern Provinces are as follows "First Class 1. Alaafin of Oyo £4,200 2. Alake of Abeokuta £2,250 3. Awujale of Ijebu Ode £1, 700 4. Oba of Benin £1,650 5. Ooni of Ife £1,440 "Second Class 1. Olubadan of Ibadan £2,400 2. Owa of Ilesha £1, 450 3. Oshimawe of Ondo £350 4. Orangun of Ila £200 Source : See Page 4, Paragraph 4 GOVERNMENT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA Federal Ministry of Information National Archives File No 33044 Class Mark CSO 26 Letter No. S.P. 11828/20 Secretary Office, Southern Province Nigeria Enugu 31, January 1938. Note: This is the ranking of Obas and Chiefs as contained in the fedetal government gazettes found in the National archives in Nigeria and Britain. It is also on record that Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, The Alaafin of Oyo have always spoken and written on empirical data, there is need for our eminent scholars and researchers to go the extra mile to enlighten the people so that they are not fed with false and unfounded stories on the Yoruba nation whose father is the Alaafin of Oyo“ As for your nonsense about abdulsalam, read the Nigerian constitution, there is not a single mention of them. Since independence they have only ever existed and had any official recognition at the regional or state level under the AUTHORITY of the respective governors who can remove them at will for any reason he deems. As far as federal law is concerned the monarchy does not exist and rightfully so because they were all conquered by the British. Whatever positions they occupied previously was 1) as employees to help the colonial masters with administration in return for which they were allowed to save face and keep the title of kings. Kings who report to governors. |
Stoplying:1. They work for the state and collect salaries from the state. |
ibinaboonline:In fact you have identified them exactly. Nobody doing legitimate business goes to a legitimate organization to transact business with those sort of cars. They are not hard to identify especially the ones that paint their wheels black or put on dodgy alloys. |
press9jatv:This is a member of her household, if it was truly sincere and not opportunistic PR she wouldn’t have called cameras. Sincere giving is quiet. Anyway good fortune for the nanny that her boss used her for publicity. I just hope we won’t hear story Tomorrow that it is rented or the property is not in her name. I am always wary of people who cannot do good without telling the whole world. Like I said if it is constituency project I can understand. Not your household. Is she going to call cameras when she pays her child’s school fees? |
jamesversion:Am I lying? |
Bukola94:There is a reason why if you go to any desert, in the toughest of conditions, be it Afghanistan or Nigeria or Sahara you will find hilux and not Ford Explorer or GMC. BTW Tacoma is simple the American version of the hilux with coil springs for comfort instead of rear leaf suspension. It is not as tough as the hilux because of this. |
YouAreNobody:Keep deceiving yourself. Rich men don’t feel a need to brag online. They are not insecure people that care or need to convince faceless people online. Your behavior is typical poor man mindset. |
YouAreNobody:You can tell a poor man or a rich man by the way they talk and their views on life, finances etc. |
YouAreNobody:That’s why you are poor. This is. It iPhone or even a noise, you don’t pay $75m in cash for a jet because that money can make you more than $75 in 5 yrs if you know how to invest but the jet won’t be worth $35 in 5 yrs. You clearly have the mindset of a poor man |
YouAreNobody:I am not advising anyone , just lecturing you poor how the rich spend and end up richer. a poor man like you will use all his money to buy a car, a rich man will take that money and invest and use to return to finance a car. So when the car is old and has no value he still has his capital. |
ibinaboonline:Official car of yahoo boys, along with rx350, is250 and ML. You see a young man in these cars especially if it has any form of modifications, 100% guaranteed, you just sighted a yahoo boy. |
No1 hilux indestructible. |
Only drug dealers, pastors and other dubious people pay cash for a jet. Even Dangote I can bet you did not pay cash. It is stupid to pay cash. You don’t build a company like Nestoil by being financially stupid…this is not tithe money. What they do is obtain finance from a finance company abroad and write off the annual expenses and finance costs as operational costs and depreciation. That’s one of the reasons why most of their jets are registered abroad. Secondly nobody pays full retail price for certain jets except it is a new model in high demand or it is a Dassault….they (Dassault)don’t give discounts…. every one else does. Bombardier for instance, nobody pays retail. The typical acquisition cost for a jet like that will go something like this: $10-20m initial deposit with the balance financed over 10 yrs. The annual payments will be roughly $4-6m which will go on Nestoi’s books as operating expenses deduction. These figures could be even less if it is leased. |
topatee:My friend i think you confuse culture with method of governance. I dont need a King to know my culture in yoruba land is to respect my elders, prostrate, etc etc. A yoruba man will prostrate, when ruled by a King, military or civilian. yove celebrated your culture under kings military and civilian governments. As for Ohafia people, i didnt know about them till you posted so (unlike many Nairalanders) I did some quick research before responding. It seems they went down fighting and I commend them for that. Like i said there is a way to be conquered but in this case ultimately they waved a white flag, they surrendered!!! They are better than those who didnt even fight but said where do i sign but the bottom line is the were conquered and they have lost their kingdom forever. The culture remains, the mode of governance is over...the idea of kings in Nigeria is not culture, it was a mode of governance, it became a mode of indirect rule to subdue the masses and now and now its just a salaried job to help control the masses. Except for the Emirs, who themselves are islamic conqueorors, that conquered the natives and later themselves conquered by the British, If Nigerian Kings were truly custodians of culture they would not be in church or Mosques. I am a christian but you cannot be a King go to church and tell me you are custodian of my culture...bullcrap!!! what you are doing is reminding me everyday that you were conquered. I have royal lineage myself, it's not by force to be King, you cannot worship 2 masters. For instance the Ooni is the spiritual/religious head of the yorubas like I said before he is not the most superior King in yoruba land but was elevated due to western region politics. Ooni is the religious or spiritual head, his full title is Oonirisa..meaning the no1 deity. what is cultural about the no1 deity submiting himself to another religion...dont you see the irony in that? thats not representing my culture even though it is a part of my culture I do not personally embrace. Again i repeat i am a Christian, I am not a traditionalist, but if you are going to be a king in yoruba land for instance and you not only submit yourself to commisioners and governors, you also submit yourself to another religion, what is the source of any respect that should be due to you. Please do not confuse mode of governance with culture. Nigerian "Kings" today are not even recognised by the constitution, they are part of governance but most of them report to governors or the respective commisioners for LG affairs...is that something i want to celebrate? thats why they are disrespected up and down. As for living to fight another day, sometimes we take some of these saying too seriously, there is no fight to fight again for these Kings. their Kingdoms are gone and gone for good. And when you say see how they honour their King, my response is they honour their king because their Kings did not lose their Kingdoms, their Kings were not conquered, their Kings did not wave the white flag, their Kings did not aggree to become servants to their conquerors!!! their is honor in that so they are honored. What you are saying is we should honour failure and defeat because failure and defeat is part of our culture. I dont think you people understand what it means to be a King or general in an army or be a true warrior. You dont get to lose a war or your Kingdom and get honored. You win or you lose, there is no in between! heavy is the head that wears the crown! You know why japanese warriors are revered? the refuse to be captured, a japanese warrior will rather fall on his own sword that suffer the shame of surrender or capture, we on the other hand celebrate and create heroes out of people who not just lost but surrendered. I'm sorry, waving a white flag on a bamboo pole shouting "Anyi, kwere na nde Bekee (we agree to the British)" does not sound like the actions of revered warriors to me. Again they are better than those who didnt fight at all but just like the Benin people and others ultimately they lost. Heroes are those who died saying over my dead body. |
Nice appointment, always talks a lot of sense on Tv. Very knowledgeable. |
illicit:There is hypocrisy on both sides. 1. Traditional rulers are ceremonial, I say this all the time and I will say it again, they lost their kingdoms to the British. They were defeated by the British and are employees of the state, therefore governors, presidents are higher than any King or oba or Emir in Nigeria and that it why if a governor doesn’t like you he will remove you. There are some states where traditional rulers require/d written permission from the local government chairman to travel out of their “kingdom”……what kind of king is that? Sultan of sokoto was removed by Abacha, Emir of Kano was deposed and exiled by Ganduje, ALaafin of Oyo was demoted by Awolowo and an hitherto inconsequential Ooni was made the senior Oba in Yoruba land. Do these kind of things happen to Kings or employees? I think we can all see from these three examples who is indeed subservient to whom. It’s only in Nigeria that you lose your kingdom, you are defeated, you are conquered and you are still parading yourself as King…..King of where? The only reason Emirs, Obas, Obi’s etc still exist in Nigeria is that the British needed people with local knowledge to help them administer Nigeria via indirect rule. And so they kept them as hired help. 2. Having said that (and this is where the hypocrisy on Obasanjo’s side comes). Obasanjo is also no longer a head of state, the same reason he refuse to bow to them is also why they can equally feel they can’t bow to him. If anything the kings are ceremonial custodians of culture, Obasanjo is just a regular citizen.. Most of these Kings gave up their Kingdoms without a fight. I don’t see the why they should be honoured. Glory and honor comes in dying protecting your kingdom, at least put up a fight, so your descendants and lineage can have glory…but instead you sign agreement to relinquish your kingdom without a single shot. Special mention to the Benin and Ijebu kings ( and a few others). who at least fought the British and went down fighting. |
CharleyBright:Clearly in your stupidity you don’t see that people make errors. The quote of mine you posted tells you my own real life experience where on my driving license my surname is my first name and vice versa. You think I don’t know my own surname? You think that is how I filled the form? I am not responsible for what someone enters on the system, I am only responsible for what I filled in the forms. Where is the female called Bola A Tinubu? How can someone go to a university and not exist. You can find anything but you cannot find this female that Tinubu is impersonating? If such a Pierson existed, we all know you would have found her and harassed her life. Typists cannot make mistakes or errors again? You guys are so stooooopid is not even funny anymore. |
iammo:. The same windfall and excess crude account was frittered away under the same NOI. Soludo did very well. But we should not ignore the side of ElRufais statement…..we were very lucky. It was more luck than good management. What do we have to show for govt spending during the Obasanjo era….what did they spend the money on? Where are the roads, power, rail, airports etc? Hence the element of luck that oil prices were so high it hid the govt inefficiencies and wastefulness of the time because the private sector could continue to do business.l because the Naira was stable. The Naira was stable simply by good fortune of high oil prices. |
Toks2008:Go back to your forte of consoling single mothers and unmarried mature women….people too emotional to recognize a charlatan and a fraud. It’s no wonder you find a home among Obidients, you have a knack for finding a home amongst the emotional and the iyirrational. Engaging me is above your intellect. I remember warning you before the elections and it played out exactly as I said. Because I recognize a fraud and daft people and I am not emotionally in my analysis. You on the other hand, like the gullible women who fall for your bull are irrational and emotional. In your case you also have additionally a deficiency in intellect. |
Toks2008:Like I said you people are just daft. |
Toks2008:Like I said you people are daft. Do admin staff not make errors on documents? How many times has your name been spelt wrong? My driving license has my name and surname swapped. It is not as if you do t know how Nigerians like to call you by your last name followed by given name, Why haven’t I changed it? Because I do t have time for Nigerian govt agencies and their wahala. To get the license in the 1st place was wahala. Another example. Till today decades after I did my GCE and WAEC, I have never set my eyes on my waec certificate….why because it wasn’t ready when I entered university and statement of results was enough to enter, After that what am I using waec certificate for? Similarly my degree certificate was stolen recently amongst some items In London. I went to report to metropolitan police, they said they don’t handle such matters anymore. Wetin I wan do? I tried to report to police in Nigeria they said it was not stolen in Nigeria. Tommorow fools like you will say I did not go to school have no waec and have no degrees. You people just make fools of yourselves as if you don’t know how the real world works. |
Is Nissan assembled in Nigeria? Government now should have an official policy of not buying cars not assembled in Nigeria. There. Are many to choose from. The US government only buys US made cars. |
Christistruth00:If you look at the transcript of someone who got 3rd class you may go blind or your children may not get more than 3rd class. Abeg. We don’t want to see, you can get infected with dullness. We know he went to university, we know he got 3rd class, we know he is a dullard. He can never become president of Nigeria so his transcript is worthless and of no consequence. |
This Hundeyi. Is really daft. I think this Obidiency has finally damaged his brain cells. I have seen very I teligent people talk like retards once they become Obidients….I really mean this. Even my younger sister talks like a fool, stupid things that don’t make sense. |
TemplarLandry:arise news anchors are not journalists, one of them is an ex beauty queen or model and we know models or beauty queens have nothing in their heads, another has semi naked bikini pictures all over her instagram, another clearly has a short man napoleon complex. the only one who has any credentials as a journalist has started to borrow himself a brain if you notice. |
abhosts:has naira not been falling since he became ag CBN governor? I also think he was one of the 3 names Tinubu gave Buhari for VP in 2015. I think it was Edun (now finance minister), Cardoso and Osinbajo. |
