Pacesetter123:Even in the 70s. Most people from middle class backgrounds go to nursery school at age 2 or 3. Niursery school is 2 years. From there you start primary school. Maybe it wasn’t common in the villages or for children of the poor but it was very normal for children of the middle class especially if your parents were educated. I say that not to be elitist but the people I know that started school at 4 (and like I said I know many) are from middle class backgrounds. The older students in school in those days tended to be children from poorer backgrounds..in those those all of us went to the same schools. |
Larryndelaw:It’s not even a question of possible, it is very normal. |
Dandat:He is not lying I am older than him and I and many of my contemporaries started primary school at 4, though the majority would have been 5yrs old. That law was in existence in the colonial era. |
Drsmiles:It is not strange, I started at 4 and entered secondary school at 10. Though many of my classmates were 1 yr ahead of me, I wasn’t the only one in my set who entered secondary school at 10 and therefore started at 4. In fact I know of 2 people who entered secondary school at 9. |
sarkinbauchi:It depends. My iPad that I had t used for a awhile still showed the bird for about an hr yesterday before it updated. |
Dotherightthing:Mixed race don’t pass for white, except you are very very white like Ryan Giggs. Biracial children usually have an identity problem because they are never fully accepted. The ones who identify with their black side tend to fare better. |
buttlover:Where else would he go…..Finland? |
ManirBK:The same people supplying petrol to Niger, Chad etc |
Padipadi:It is impossible not to do well. The biggest mistakes Buhari made were 1) not removing subsidy 2) not allowing the exchange rate to float and having done neither 3) not fixing our refineries in 8 years. His failure to tackle the above is why despite investing more in infrastructure than any president since 1999, he is lookk d upon unfavorably by a lot of people. The result of solving 1) and 2) is that it would take a Buffon of monumental proportions (e.g Ob1ngO) not to do well with the increased govt coffers. Talk less someone with a brain like Tinubu who has been working for this all his life. |
triple996:Nothing to avoid in Kano. The destination is known. Ganduje becomes party chairman. Kwakwanso minister. |
Calitoscassius:Like I said you are a simpleton. The emboldened statements says you don’t understand international economics. Why are the BRICS trying to create their own currency, why was Ghaddafi killed for trying to create the African concurrency? You statements show you really are very ignorant. If you do t understand d that so long as the dollar is the worlds reserve colurrency, the rest of the world is forked especially the developing world. A currency that is backed by nothing except full faith and credit and which they can print unlimited amouths to pay their domestic debts but the rest of the world has to devalue its currency to pay its dollar loans a currency that has no value except what the Is says it is. Why do you think crypto is a thing? You really are ignorant. Look we are responsible for ourselves. My whole post is premised on your naive belief that the USA are our friends and mean well for Glie, they are not and they do not. It is not In their interest for the continent with the world concentration of natural resources and manpower to develop. Again just look at China and Russia. It does not mean we do t have responsibilities to ourselves but we should stop kidding ourselves that these countries especially the US, UK, France in particular mean well for us…..they don’t. Why would they? Unfortunately withUmcle Toms and home slaves like you, we a have a long way to go. The worst slave is the one who doesn’t realize he is free. The freed slave who still thinks for his master. The worst form of slavery is mental slavery. You control a man’s mind and you don’t need chains to control him……Friend my ass! You my friend are are mentally enslaved!!! The sad thing is Nigeria is lagging behind in Freeing the shackles. It is unfortunate that it is countries like Rwanda, Uganda etc that are taking the lead. |
obedience4:It is a lot for you as an individual it is peanuts for a ooor country of 200m especially when it is spent in areas that create dependency. If they spent it on rail or roads or power fine but they spend it on things like democracy initiatives, healthcare, civil liberties and civil societies etc. Any what it clear is you can’t see beyond your nose. This thing is too deep for you. And by the way yes we have our own issues but one of the reasons we are the poverty capital of the world is that they have deliberately made it impossible for us to thrive. A good example is the dollar. But clearly this thing is beyond the intellectual comprehension of a simpleton. They give you $1b in aid how much of that goes into tertiary education? I bet you it is less than $10m . But guess what? After petrol the largest drain on our forex is foreign tuition fees. Nigerians probably spend at least billions of dollars a year on US fees alone. You think this same country is going to spend money to help our universities? The other day the Uk needs to raise £1b without raising domestic taxes, who did they target? ….Foreign students!!!! You think such a country wants our education system to do well? |

obedience4:How much is the aid? Please tell us? And then aid for what? There is a difference between a man who gives you money to eat and the man who gives you money to start your own business. One is freeing you from dependence, the other is keeping you dependent so you do what they say? Nigeria is the largest country in Africa, 1 in 3 sub Saharan Africans is a Nigerian, we are the poverty capital of the world. The total is aid last year was a measly $1b. They can keep their $1B. Ordinary Danjuma donated $500m to charity. All their aid are in areas that create dependency and not empowerment. When friends assist, they assist to build roads, power plants, rail so that you can grow your own economy and make money from taxes to pay for your own healthcare of your citizens. A country that sends you assistance in the form of medicines etc is not your friend. Again I repeat a person who is always there to pay your hospital bills but never says let me set up a small business for you is enslaving you so they when he calls, you are at his back and call. That’s modern day. Enslavement.

Successlane:Yes. Only the mentally enslaved give a sh1t about America. America is not your friend and America has no intention to see a prosperous Nigeria or Africa. America likes countries they can keep suppressed. That’s what they are always in conflict with China and Russia and why they killed Ghaddafi. They’ve spent over $100b in Ukraine, $1.9trillion on Iraq war. Have they ever said let us spend $100m to help any country in Africa build a road? The other day Kamala Harris went on a charm offensive to countries in Africa, all she brought was $10m for 6 countries to share and in return she wants them to embrace LBGT. Is that the behaviour of a friend? Covid vaccine did they share with you? They said they would forgive debt because of the effects of inflation they caused by Ukraine war and Covid…..did they? The countries that cancelled African debts were China and Russia. So carry on masturbating over people who do t give a fork about you and don’t want your progress. |
We dont care about America |
Penguin2:Why are you concerning yourself with Tinubu’s ministers shebi you say Obi is coming? |
001Lagos:Ow you know what it is like to be on the receiving end. |
garfield1:My guy I think we over emphasize this “technocrat” matter as Nigerians. Shagari was minister of education, finance, internal affairs, commerce, works, pensions amongst others….what was his qualification…..he was a teacher…..no degreee..no private sector expertise…, ,teacher training certificate that’s all!! My opinion is that Nigerian technocrats tend to be disappointments in governance. Speak too much English, unrealistic western mindset and impractical copy Oyinbo all the time ideas that tend to fail. People like Fashola are exceptions and if you think about it, Fasshola’s performances both as governor and minister have nothing to do with his profession…law. If you look at the ministers in the Uk and the Secretaries of State in the US, they are overwhelmingly career politicians….rewards for political effort….jobs for the boys. Joe Biden, Tony Blair for example are career politicians who have never had proper jobs in their lives outside politics. The only positions where you need strictly a “technocrat” is attorney General….and possibly finance but people like Malami have shown even that is not enough. The other positions what you need is intelligence to understand the issues and sincerity. They can and do employ “technocrat” advisers to help them. I’m not against technocrats per se just saying we tend overate technocrats. IMHO technocrats should be DGs, advisers, directors, working under the cover of the politicians. For me what will determine the success of Tinubu’s administration is the formulation of a master plan. The reason why people want technocrats is because there really hasn’t been a focused master plan for past administrations. When you have a master plan m, it really doesn’t matter who the minister is…, the roles, functions and goals of your ministry are defined under the master plan irrespective of who is minister. My 2 cents. |
Akaegwu:it is rude and disrespectful to ask question a secondary school student will be flogged for asking. |
how is this possible? osimhen needs to find his way to the premiership. |
SledgeHammerer:its them isn't it? |
Pedro334:You don’t need to have common sense to know Umahi will resign from senate just like Gbaja resigned from house of rep. Why are Nigerians so dull like this? |
Dafresh:this is the problem with our education system |
keledom:Sometimes something is so foolish one needs not waste time giving reasons……just like Obi’s petition that Tinubu’s lawyer spent only 1 witness and one day to reply. |
vanunu:Story! No regio. wey no get reserve. Na region wey dey produce people care about. When SS had problem, govt intervened because they matter. When there was problem in the North and people could not farm govt intervened. If govt is not intervening it is because you do not matter to the economy of Nigeria. That has you say you have will remain in the ground. Nobody is investing billions to get out gas in a region where a man cannot walk freely on the street. |
HardBishop:How that one concern rest of Nigeria? Who dey plead with una? Did your leader not say no election in Biafraland, who beg una to vote? |
obyno82:What is going on in the SEE does not affect the rest of Nigeria. SE are not the ones producing the food we eat, the taxes the government collects or the commerce and livelihoods for the rest of the country. You are not the znorth that feeds Nigeria, or the SS that finances the government or the SW where commerce takes place. What exactly is the contribution of the SE to Nigeria that you are making noise upandan trying to blackmail everybody? You lay your bed you lie on it. We are calling your bluff…. |
AlexBells:You see this problem in the SE? Na una go solve an yourself. The rest of Nigeria has washed its hands of SE and their wahala. Your emotional blackmail won’t work. When you are tired of killings, cannibalism, no jobs, no investment, sit at home, nobody will borrow you people the sense you need to end it. …and while you are waiting to reset your brains, we will never make you president of the same country you support someone fighting for secession from. |
Feintline:Your emotional blackmail cannot work. A man who came 3rd that did not even claim he won, who didn’t claim he came second asks to be declared the winner. A man who wants the winner to be disqualified for matters that are outside the law when he himself is not qualified to run. |
I am sure the French are behind it. They are not happy with the trend of former French colonies withdrawing from France. The other day MALI dropped French as it iloffixial language. |
michresakidjo:Nobody is your friend but Russia is not Africa’s enemy. Russia helped many African countries in their fight for independence. Putin himself was fought in the war front against the west for independence. Russia never colonized any African country. We know those who colonized looted and continue to loot and enslave and dictate to us even after independence. Given a choice between America, France, Britain, I wholeheartedly pitch my tent with Russia. Nothing good has ever come with following the west. |
